Trying to Get Pregnant

WTO Friday 4/9

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. Thanks for keeping this a safe place for us all to engage!**

CD: 21.  Still waiting for crosshairs - question in spoiler - tw loss

    WAYDTGKU:  BBT, PNV

R/R: I CAN NOT wait to sleep in tomorrow, anyone else?!

CS/Q: see spoiler.  TW - Loss.

Will FF give you crosshairs if you only record temps?  I usually do my CM too but since I miscarried and it was (sorry TMI) blood tinged for a couple weeks, I haven't recorded any. I had that big temp dip on CD 19.  I guess I am just wondering if people only record temps and is that enough to detect O? I know I might have not O'ed yet obviously but I am just curious if temps are enough.

    TTC History:
    Started dating DH 2006 . Married 2015

    TTC July 2015-November 2015

    Oops BFP February 2021

    MMC June 2022

    BFP September 2022 - Due June 2023!

  • @ReadyForaB yes you definitely will get CHs based on temps alone. Unless you have a reason not to trust your temps, it doesn’t look like you ovulated yet.
  • Loading the player...
  • @ReadyForaB pretty sure it will give CH with temp only. When you do resume charting CM... if your fertility signs (cm, cp, opks) conflict, then it may not, or it may be dotted. Looking at your temps though, I don't think you've ovulated yet.

Also yes, sooo looking forward to sleeping in (dare I hope until 7:30??), since I've started waking up earlier!

    Month/Cycle: 4/4

    CD: 10?

    WAYDTGKU: bbt

R/R: it's Friday! I don't really have a whole lot going on so nothing to rant/rave over 😆

    CS/Q: nope.

  • @pajamstagrams we haven’t totally adjusted to the time change yet and have just been rolling with it and the sleeping in is very nice! I hope you get to sleep in tomorrow!

    Month/Cycle: 28/32

    CD: 8

    WAYDTGKU: OPKs, Tracking CM

R/R: My bloodwork came back with low vitamin D so I’m supposed to take vitamin D for 12 weeks and then get tested again. It’s interesting because it was 31 in November 2019 which they were fine with, and then basically a global pandemic happened and now it’s 20. I think I just need to go outside more, but I’m taking the supplement because I’m a rule follower! Plus I think there was a discussion about this recently and that other doctors wanted higher levels than the 31 anyway. If I am going to do treatment eventually I want to make sure I have the best chance possible so give me all the D! (ha!)

    CS/Q:

  • @bows22 vitamin D also might be good for helping to fight covid so it can't hurt!
  • edited April 2021
@bows22 Vitamin D is good for everything!  You can also look for a D/K combo as there is evidence the K aids in absorbtion when taken together.  That may help get your levels up faster than taking D alone (although you can take as much as 5000/day no problem, even 10,000 short term).  It may even help with your time change adjustment!

@ReadyForaB yes to sleep!! I've had a couple nights this week of going to bed really late.

    @pajamstagrams TGIF!

@bows22 give me all the D :D You may also benefit from a light therapy lamp if you don't have the time to be outside

    Month/Cycle: 5 AL

    CD: 18

    WAYDTGKU: OPKs, temping, GF/DF diet

R/R: rant - still don't have any positive OPKs!!! UGH. I haven't had a cycle this long in forever. Rave - we got a HIO session in last night so I should be able to claim a decent timing. Last time we HIO was Saturday which clearly wasn't in my FW. DH was super tired but I didn't want to miss the change in case today is O day. It's likely not though with no positive OPKs, but we'll see. Also rave - going into the office yesterday wasn't bad at all. It was a lot better being in my cubicle that some random desk. It's pretty clear I feel much more productive at home though.

CS/Q: funny how my temps have all of a sudden been very consistent

@ReadyForaB i miss the ability to sleep in, even if i can i still wake up at like 7 and then it's just toss and turn kind of sleeping until i actually get out of bed. i miss the days of college and sleeping until like noon.

@bows22 you're the 2nd person "i know" that now has low vit d. i really need to start taking my vitamins again!! my friend just started a supplement about 3 weeks ago and does feel better, less sluggish.

@inthewoods23 that's what she said  :D so glad someone went there. glad going into work was good! i am one of those weirdos who does not like wfh fulltime, i work better with clear separation.

  • @acleverusername i think i saw you posted yesterday it's like 30% cheaper in AZ? i don't know anyone who has traveled for IVF, lots that have done it locally here thru Shady Grove or Johns Hopkins. that's great about clearing the air with your dad, those are always weighty convos that feel so good when its done, but the anticipation is hard.

@inthewoods23 honesty is the best policy.
  • @anniemarie887 where are you based? As for AZ, yeah, it’s way cheaper there and in fact when we did our intake at the clinic there in Jan, the doctor mentioned that there is a lot of fertility travel happening to AZ. In non-Covid times, we’d consider going to Europe as countries like Spain and Greece have world class IVF clinics for a fraction of the cost.

  • @acleverusername I'm glad you got to clear the air with your dad. I have such a hard time being super open about my personal stuff with my own family and parents. Seems really weird when I think about it, but idk, I think it boils down to how I was raised. However, supposedly even when I was really little I did not want to be held and consoled by my mom so maybe this is just me to begin with not wanting to be emotional with people. Except DH of course! ha. I'll have to see if DH is up for it in the morning. Hypothesis #2 is that he needs to be in a sleepy state during HIO! Except last time was drunk sleepiness at 1AM but we'll see if it works again haha.

  • @ReadyForaB I too am very ready for relaxing this weekend!

@pajamstagrams that sounds like a good thing to me, not having a lot going on :)

@bows22 @inthewoods23 I've been taking D as a supplement for a couple years now (because Seattle and low sunlight does not vibe with this FL lady) and I notice a WORLD of difference especially in the winter particularly in my mood and energy levels. MH notices the same in himself, too. Light lamps are good too! maybe carve out a little beach/bright sun nook that makes you feel like you're on vacation. also love everything @acleverusername said about D!

@anniemarie887 glad you got your peak, sorry about the timing :(

@acleverusername aww I'm glad you had the opportunity to clear the air with your dad. it's tough with parents, and speaking from personal experience, I notice that dad and daughter relationships can be particularly tough. hope you hear the news you need from work!

R/R: this weekend MH and I are celebrating spring by going to the tulip fields! ready for relaxing and reading.

CS/Q: 5th day of High from CBAD but not worried about that...meanwhile the strips are showing no changes that I can tell (screenshot in spoiler). I feel like I'm going to wake up one day and see two stark dark lines lol

  • @chgilmore ah, MH used to live in Seattle and told me about the tulip fields. Enjoy.

@anniemarie887 are you going to greet YH at the door wearing nothing and HIO right there and then?!

  • @acleverusername @anniemarie887 these are the real questions xD
  • @acleverusername @chgilmore bahaha probably not considering our front door is entirely glass and we live in a 1940s suburb of close together houses - which is my long winded way of saying it would give the neighbors quite a show!
  • @chgilmore I was on 6000IU for a period of time when my vit D came back at 20.1. I was so close to needing to go on prescription strength vit D. 2 years later I had it retested and I was at 77 so I'm back down to 2000IU to maintain. I haven't noticed much of a difference taking vit D. The biggest difference I've getting through the winter was being gifted a sunrise alarm clock! It became so much easier to wake up in the morning and that was a godsend for my energy throughout the day. I have one of those lamps too but haven't been using it regularly. Enjoy the tulip fields! That sounds lovely. And yes, you may totally wake up to a clear positive - I had one cycle where I went from a very light line to a positive OPK in 4 hours.

  • @inthewoods23 I bet you see a darker OPK soon! Will be nice if the timing lines up with the weekend! And that’s a good idea about the therapy lamp especially now that I’m working from home so much it wouldn’t be a big deal that people would ask about.

@anniemarie887 oh that’s great to hear that the Vitamin D is helping your friend feel less sluggish - that’s exactly how I feel - I thought it was just tax season fatigue, but nice to hear that this may help! And honestly I think the CBAD (if that’s what you are using?) gives the “peak” a little early so you may still be okay if you jump YH when he gets home on Sunday.

@acl@acleverusername that is amazing news about the fertility coverage!! And I’m glad you
are feeling good about the talk with your dad❤️

@chgil@chgilmore thanks for the feedback on the Vitamin D! I’m excited to see if it makes a difference now. And have fun at the tulip fields, sounds amazing!! Share some pics!

AFM - everyone’s Vitamin D dosage has me like 🥴. They are only having me do 2000 IU for 12 weeks and then retest. Seems like that’s pretty low? Although I guess I get another 1000 from my PNV

  • @acleverusername that’s amazing!
@bows22 they do say the leak means you should surge 24-36 hours later. So it’s not a lost cause! I went and looked because my prenatal has a vitamin D component and then I do 500iu of vit d on top - ya know, when I remember to take the damn vitamins.
  • @acleverusername YAY!!!!! that's fantastic news!

@anniemarie887 fx for timing!!!! also, echoing what someone said earlier - love how you include forgetting the vitamins it's always giving me a little giggle lol

@bows22 I try to get 5000iu because I notice a difference if I'm not on as a high a dose, but everyone is different! the 5000 is like, super charged or something, I definitely notice more bottles in the vitamin aisle with 2 or 3000.
  • Ok I had to go look up what my vitamin D pill has in it after all this talk...it's 10,000 IU 😳 Don't feel a difference taking it vs not taking it. But I've had low vitamin D in the past, no clue where it's at now.
  • Yeah I think when I had it prescribed for me once years ago, that's what it was also, 10,000 @pajamstagrams I'm sure if you've been taking a dose like that for a while, tho, skipping a day or two here and there isn't enough to noticably deplete your reserves.  But I'm sure it's much higher than it was before!!!  You should get it rechecked, you know - for science ;)
  • @chgilmore I keep hoping the more I’ll keep typing it that I’ll eventually be mortified by my lack of accountability and change my behavior. 🙃
  • @anniemarie887 for me when I was not taking them, if I'm honest it was not so much not remembering, as remembering... And then dreading having to choke down the fistful of pills. 😖 Now I try to take them in three little gulps, instead of all at once (and I still have to basically choke them back lol) I just chalk it up to "taking it for the team." 😆
  • @BusinessWife yea it’s 6 different pills so let’s just say I’m not excited about taking them. I also do 2 at a time.
