Trying to Get Pregnant

TWW Monday 3.29

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. Re: TWW Monday 3.29

  • Month/Cycle: 3/3

    CD/DPO: 26/13

    Timing: good

    Typical LP length: 13-14

Testing: tomorrow, but I'm also pretty sure AF is coming early, either today or tomorrow. either way, need to know to stop/continue progesterone.

R/R: really hate it when people don't respond to my meeting invites. Did they get it? After much deliberation I *think* I got the invite sent out at the right time zone for them, but idk because no one responded!

CS/Q: temp dipped below cover line, and I don't think waking up 45 min earlier is the reason 😕. What a weird month.

Side note- anyone know how long it takes to "reset" the average wake time for FF? It's probably around 6 am now, but I'll be waking up at 5:15 probably from now on and I don't want all the down triangles!

  • Not sure how long it takes if it happens organically?  But you can change the default wake up time under the chart settings and that may help. @pajamstagrams. Sorry you're feeling out :/

@pajamstagrams I'm not entirely sure, but I think FF will automatically adjust your chart's markers once you have more temps in a cycle at the new time than previous. It shouldn't be too much of a problem for you with a new cycle starting very soon for you.

Side note, I've been so consistent with my temping for months that I have never realized that you can have up and down facing triangles :D

  • @inthewoods23 thanks, good to know! Lol no way I'd voluntarily choose to wake up at 5:15 on the weekend, but alas, I'm getting there naturally, and keep waking up early 👵
  • @pajamstagrams haha yeah I have my alarm for 6:15 go off every day for temping. On weekends I wake up, take my temp, log it, then go back to sleep for another hour or so lol. It gets easier to wake up in the morning as the days get longer.

@pajamstagrams screen shots of how to change default wake time in spoiler:

I am sorry you’re not feeling confident about the cycle. 🐙 Also, ditto on the invite rsvp... HOW RUDE! Do you reach out to the invitees to confirm?

    Month/Cycle: 15/15

    CD/DPO: 16/4

    Timing: -3, -1(IUI), O(IUI), +1

Typical LP length: 15-17 days depending on when I stop progesterone

Testing: 12DPO as per doctor’s orders; also testing out the trigger which is almost gone now.

R/R: rave! I took a day off today on the recommendation of the manager whose team I support (he noticed I have been very stressed; who wouldn’t me after the shenanigans of the previous 2 weekends?!) So I took him up on it, mostly made possible by lack of meetings that required my attendance. Now I’m trying to decide if I take it super easy or do a bit of house work. I feel like I need to do a bit of the latter since some of our clothes still smell of skunk.

Another rave is that MH and I has an absolutely amazing weekend away in Carmel/Pebble Beach! The only downside was that Carmel was packed with tourists because tourism is the main economic driver. So MH and I were really apprehensive walking around the town; had to go around a bunch to avoid main thoroughfare.

Rant: I’m annoyed about my TD; the good things about a wearable temp device is that you take the headache out of temping every morning; the bad thing is that it adjusts previous 2 days’ temp after the fact which is annoying as hell. And these adjustments can be massive... 0.2-0.3 degrees. I still might send it back before my 1 year returnable period is over.

Also, I’m already SSing so I need you guys to give me strength. This morning MH and I walked to our local grocery story for some oar milk and in the way back I “imagined” being out of breath even though I walk that route 2-4 times a week. And then later, as I was making coffee, I imagined myself to be nauseas. Argh!

CS/Q: I had to manually input my cover line and O date; I think I did the coverline correctly?

  • @acleverusername. Sorry your device is messing with you, that's so annoying.  FYI coverline is not a diagnostic at. All.  Meaning you can put it wherever your pretty lil heart desires!  It is totally just there as a visual guidepost to observe the temp shift.  It doesn't matter in the slightest from one cycle to the next etc., either.  So that said, looks good to me!

Also, I keep hearing about ppl doing these castor oil compresses.  I guess I'm having trouble picturing it.  Are you literally just pouring castor oil on a warm cloth and resting with it over your ute for however long?  I guess I have always thought of castor oil as something you'd take internally, so the idea of using it topically seems novel to me.

Checking in on my first break. Coming back for tags on a break in a couple hours.

    Month/Cycle: 34/??

CD/DPO: 16/1 or 2, still waiting for CHs in FF

    Timing: IUI + HIO on -2, -1

    Typical LP length: 13ish

Testing: Not sure. RI said to test in 10DPO, RE didn’t even mention it since she’s so doubtful this cycle will work

R/R: Will add more details in the IF thread, but still ranting internally that MH’s sperm count was abysmal so this IUI has very little likelihood of workin  No raves today, been grumpy for the past few days. <Insert Grumpy Cat face here>

CS/Q: Updated with chart, so I’m 2DPO. Expecting a high temp tomorrow to get CHs.

  • @BusinessWife that’s exactly it for castor oil compresses! Plus a heating pack on top. Not sure if I’m doing it right or if it has any benefits, but at the very minimum, it makes me stay put on the couch for 45 min which is a nice way to unwind before going to bed.

@keikilove I am sorry about YHs sperm count; I know what that feels like. I mean, in my case TEW did say that she’s read of cases here sperm count was <200K for IUIs working out, but that’s likely the exception. Hang in there...

@pajamstagrams FX AF stays away... For wake time in FF, I just start fresh each cycle. I used to have it set in my settings but that didn’t seem to make any difference in how FF treated my results. You can also just fake the temps so they’re all within 30 minutes of each other to avoid triangles, and then write yourself a note about the real time you took it. This is what I sometimes do to avoid FF scolding me.

@acleverusername Just curious: how much hcg did your trigger have? It seems to be testing out of your system quickly, how lucky! Sounds like you had a great weekend and now a day off—hooray! Girl, I’m such an enabler with the SS.😆 Hang in there.

@businesswife I’ve never done the castor oil packs but have heard such good things about using them during follicular phase. I think many people wrap them in plastic wrap so the sticky oil doesn’t get everywhere. And I’ve also heard many warnings to only do them pre-ovulation: don’t want to cook the embabies during luteal phase/after transfer, and don’t want to use during period in case you could lose too much blood.

@acleverusername Thanks. It would be amazing if it worked. Trying to stay positive but also realistic. 🤷‍♀️
  • @keikilove I noticed last cycle that I metabolize hCG really fast. A 1000IU micro-dose (though it doesn't sound very micro, does it?) tested out by day 5. In this case, it's been a week since I triggered (Tue of last week). It's not fully out, but my 20IU sensitivity strips are almost white (I also test with the 10IU strips, which are still showing a visible line). I trigged with the regular 0.5ml/250mcg of Ovidrel (with is apparently ~6000IUs).

  • @acleverusername Ah, I see. I triggered with Pregnyl (5,000IU) so interested to see if it sticks to my normal pattern of testing out of my system by about Day 8ish... Which strips do you use that are 20 or 10IU?
  • @keikilove thanks! Re: castor oil  I think I may even try it sooner (since nobody's in the oven yet!) And then switch to just ordinary heating packs during the first half of next cycle.  The detoxifying effects I'm reading about make me a little nervous to use during the transfer cycle! 😬 when I've never used it before.  But I also ordered the eyelash kit so... 🤷

@acleverusername yeah, that is fast!  Nice to have that low dose.  I am taking Ovidrel again and I feel like it takes 4FR to come out of my system..  :/ which really can mess with a girl...

GL to you both!  I would love that so much if you both got to be SS BMB EDD buddies!!! 🤣
  • Hello... someone mentioned some thread here to find info on charting. I think I’m lost. Forums are big overwhelming worlds and this girl couldn’t read a map to save her life! 🤷‍♀️

Also what is the meaning of all this stuff and things? ⬇️

    Month/Cycle:2/2

    CD/DPO: 14/3

    Timing: -3, 0

    Typical LP length: 14

Testing: I'm going to try to hold out until 13 dpo, but I doubt I can wait that long lol

R/R: I finally got my first cross-hairs lol. When I tried bbt years ago, I never got them. I'm so excited lol

    CS/Q: Nope

I do have a regular question though. How do you do spoilers?? Also with our timing, I'm not feeling very hopeful at the moment. But time will tell I guess.

    @griffonmama Hi, and Welcome!
    https://forums.thebump.com/discussion/12759553/newbie-intros-w-o-3-29#latest
Start here and read through the Read this First link, that will help you get oriented, and feel free to introduce yourself!

There are daily TWW / WTO threads, so no worries, but you just bumped up the Monday one.  There was a Thursday one that would have been the most recent, or else anyone can feel free to start the new one for the day if they don't see it posted yet.

Are you temping?  What phase of your cycle are you in?  TWW is the two week wait for ladies who have confirmed ovulation (are in their luteal phase or LP) and are waiting to test, where WTO is for ladies waiting to ovulate (in their follicular phase or FP) who are still in the first half of their cycle.

The more you read the pinned posts and lurk the threads you'll get the hang of it. CD is cycle day, CS/Q is for chart stalk or questions R/R is rants and raves... Again, welcome!  Please introduce yourself so we can get to know you better and GL!
  • 🤔🤔 gl must be good luck? 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 I have not started taking my temp yet because I’m waiting for my thermometer to arrive from Amazon... (hope it’s sufficient it was a cheap one) I’m also in the process of a mc still so I’m really looking for info to get started. I have never done the charting before so I guess I’m wondering how to get started especially coming out of a situation like mine starting from scratch? I’m guessing I’d treat this like a period in a way since I should (assuming my body doesn’t take months to resume a normal of some kind) ovulate in a few weeks but I’m really about as clueless as it gets! So what’s chart stalk and where can you get charts to get started? Questions? All of them! And you can call me... Lynn 🙋🏻‍♀️
  • @griffonmama I just tagged you in 2 threads - Newbie Intros & Chart Stalk / Questions - to get you started.
