WTO Tuesday 3.16

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. Thanks for keeping this a safe place for us all to engage!**

@bows22 I am sorry to hear about the CP last cycle. Sending you virtual hugs. Hopefully the old RE office can hook you up with the tests you need. As for time change kicking butts, yep... here too. I usually never set alarm because I naturally wake up between 6:30-7, but I had an acupuncture appointment this morning at 7:30 and that alarm was definitely required.

    Month/Cycle: 15/15

    CD: 3

WAYDTGKU: Hybrid (Letrazole + Gonal-F) + Double IUI cycle with Zymöt; Endometrin after O for progesterone supplementation (switching from Prometrium); vitamins and supplements for MH and I. HIO on nights before ultrasound.

R/R: Today is the last day of our current Rover charge; she's been with us for 8 days now, and I am seriously attached. It will be really tough when she's gone, even with the skunking episode on the weekend that's left us exhausted. Hopefully her doggy momma will want us to watch her again in the future. In other news, I'm on Day 2 of caffeine-free week and I discovered a really rich tea that's helping me replace the coffee taste. It's Dandelion Root tea. Very robust and tasty.

CS/Q: Probably not going to seriously chart this month given the treatment. TBD.

@bows22 sorry to hear about the bleeding, I hope your old RE has answers!

    Month/Cycle: 3/3

    CD: 13

    WAYDTGKU: bbt/cm

R/R: had a Dr appointment this morning and there was NO TRAFFIC on the way and I didn't know what to do with all the extra time 😂 normally I'd go get a coffee, but being in COVID times, a) masks and b) hot coffee raises body temp too much. So instead I sat in the car with the AC off 🤦‍♀️ realized afterwards that was stupid, but thankfully I still passed temp checks. Need to remember that winter is over!

    CS/Q: nope

@acleverusername that’s so sweet that you are so attached to your Rover charge! I’m sure her dog mom will be so happy to hear that! What does the dandelion root tea taste like?

@pajamstagrams I never think about coffee or weather affecting my temps like that. I guess it would be pretty embarrassing to get turned away! But yay for no traffic!
  • Options
@acleverusername I like dandelion root tea as well! I used to do a carob/dandelion/chicory blend back when I was on an elimination diet and couldn't do coffee temporarily. I know chicory isn't TTC/PG safe, can't remember about carob though (basically tastes like chocolate/cocoa).

@bows22 yeah last summer I had to wait in my car, in the blazing sun, for a 3 pm dentist appointment and I had the AC set to 60, hoping and praying I would be under 99 when I went in---and I barely was 😂 most people around here understand and they'll let you try again after 5 min when you cool off inside.

@bows22 how can I not be? Look at her... 😍 She's such a cuddlebug!
Regarding the dandelion root tea, it actually tastes like a mild blend of coffee. It's quite delicious!

@pajamstagrams I also had never considered the effect of a hot beverage on temp increase! Better not to risk it in these times though, right? So, the tea I got is actually exactly that blend: dandelion, chicory root, and carob. I wasn't aware that chicory was counter-indicated for ttc. In fact, I found a blog post that recommends this as an alternative to coffee while ttc.

Hey friends! Sorry I posted & ghosted yesterday (silly work getting in the way, hahaha). Trying to catch up today.

@bows22 Sorry for all the weird cycle stuff that’s happening! I hope that your old RE office will get you in ASAP to see if testing helps sort things out. It would be perfect if their delays in transferring your paperwork out ends up helping get this testing covered.

@acleverusername You sound so excited about this new protocol. Yay!🤞🏽that this is the magic combo! I forgot to answer your question about Prometrium vs Endometrin, and the truth is I have no idea what the difference is. How’d you decide to switch?

@pajamstagrams Hooray for no traffic! Hope the appointment went well!

    Month/Cycle: 34/?

    CD: 3

WAYDTGKU: Lots of vitamins & meds for both of us. (I put him on antibiotics in case there’s any infection hiding in his sorry.) Leaving no stone unturned...

R/R: Rant: My poor sleep continues 😩 I am SO tired these days! Rave: We have a new plan for this cycle: medicated IUI that I’ve never tried before: Letrozole + Follistim + Trigger. Feeling like your twin—almost—@Clever

    CS/Q: Nothing yet.

@acleverusername Oops. I forgot to chime in about the drinks. The stuff I mentioned last week is safe (Davidson’s caffeine-free herbal chai.) Yeah, when I switched from coffee to decaf coffee to coffee-free, I got coffee-like teas that tasted good & strong (roastaroma) but eventually learned that we aren’t supposed to have chicory. Recently I’ve been loving golden milk but now hear that turmeric is contraindicated for implantation/early pregnancy. So back to the milder stuff (Davidson’s).

@keikilove yay for a new plan! I hope you get some better sleep soon. I’m struggling with that too and it’s the pits
