Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: apple/orange seed

Upcoming appointments: none yet. I need to get DH to schedule my nurse intake and first OB+ ultrasound. OB+US probably won't happen until 10 weeks or so. The nurse he talked to was super rude when I had my chemical so he's avoiding it.

How are you feeling?: super tired. I let the kids bingewatch Netflix yesterday on accident because I was so sleepy and out of it. Whoops. I definitely need to go to bed earlier to help with my energy levels.

Rants/Raves: went to the children's museum. For a private play hour yesterday and it was so fun! My kids loved getting out of the house in the first time in forever.

Questions: how do you entertain energy-sucking preschoolers without TV/apps? What are some hands-off activities I can toss their way?

GTKY: What is your favorite app for tracking baby? I just use the bump. I hate having multiple apps and I feel like they all share the same info anyway. I frequently use the Time and Date website to calculate when I'll hit certain milestones.  Even though I already know many of the dates I like rechecking 😆

  • @chindimples04, oh I like the look of that app! I had something similar when I was pregnant with my DD, but I cannot for the life of me remember the name of it.

    Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days:
    October 29, 4w3d ish

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a grain of table salt

Upcoming appointments: none scheduled yet, but likely will be between 8 and 10w. PGAL brain has me waiting until 5w to even call the doctor.

How are you feeling?: TIRED. And I'm having like... tiny inklings of nausea. It's too soon for that, right?! I'm not ready!!!

Rants/Raves: Only raves today. 1. I'm pregnant, and that's pretty awesome. 2. It's FINALLY going to be above freezing out! I'm so excited for all of this freaking snow to melt. Bring on springtime!

    Questions:

GTKY: What is your favorite app for tracking baby? I just re-downloaded Ovia, which I liked a lot last time.

  • @vampirina puzzles? DD is only 22 months but she LOVES puzzles and playing independently. I am SO thankful for that.
@galentine I like Ovia, too! I actually use 7 different apps, and Ovia is one of them! 🙈

  • @chindimples04, 7 apps, oh my! Now I need to know the other 5  :D
  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days:  10/10- 7+1

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Baby's mouth and tongue are forming this week.  Baby is the size of a blueberry.

Upcoming appointments: none scheduled yet. I need to call!

How are you feeling?: nausea comes and goes in waves.

Rants/Raves: I'm back to work today after having last week off, coffee makes me nauseas and I'm dragging!!

    Questions:

GTKY: What is your favorite app for tracking baby? When I was pregnant with DS#1, I used OVIA, the bump and I had a pregnancy journal. When pregnant with DS#2 I forgot how far along I was half the time.   This time I'm using the bump, and trying to embrace what should be my last pregnancy.

  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 6w1d

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: sweet pea

    Upcoming appointments: nothing this week

How are you feeling?: Not great. Super sick but never actually getting sick just dry heaving. Trying to find foods/eating schedule that works for the nausea. But still very excited for this new little baby!

Rants/Raves:  I've been going to bed at 9 each night because the exhaustion is intense which is beautiful. However, having a hard time finding a timeslot & energy to work out.

    Questions: nothing today

GTKY: What is your favorite app for tracking baby? TB. I had used a few different apps with DH. I can't remember them now. I still have ovulation tracking apps that share some stuff. But I'll just stick with TB this time.

@chindimples04 sorry to hear about the covid positive, I hope you and your DH get some rest and start feeling better soon!

  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 10/12, 6+5

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Baby is the size of a honeybee

Upcoming appointments: March 9th second US and first standard appointment

How are you feeling?: Meh, tired, sore breasts and I wake up everyday at 5 am to go pee.

Rants/Raves: I am struggling at work.  I do not feel as focus or driven right now.  Not good when I am supposed to be working 55 hours a week.

Questions: I am sure I have tons but can't think of any right now.

GTKY: What is your favorite app for tracking baby? I have not explored a lot.  Used the bump and what to expect last time so far only using the bump. I used baby kicks and contractions later in the pregnancy.

@chindimples04 How is your dog doing? We also have a dog that suffers from Seizures so I know how challenging it can be.

@vampirina sensory bins? They work a lot of my son but they can make a huge mess so depending on your tolerance for that.

  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 10/12, 6w5d

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: A pea

    Upcoming appointments: 3/3

How are you feeling?: Physically pretty good. I was able to eat and exercise normally yesterday and today. Mentally, just nervous as hell for this first appointment.

Rants/Raves: It's snowing again here, which is just driving me bonkers. Everytime it starts to melt, we get more, which is not normal for where we live.

Questions: Is it normal to have cycles of good symptom days and bad symptom days? Saturday was sort of rough, but since then I've felt decent, but that just makes me anxious that maybe everything is going sideways. 😥

GTKY: What is your favorite app for tracking baby? Dunno. Are there any that have useful features, beyond generating factoids? I'm not sure how much health information I want to give to an app.

  • @timgsmom she is doing well today. She slept hard the rest of the day and last night. I had no idea what’s what was going on until I called the emergency vet.

@noprobalo pretty normal! Last week, no food was appealing to me. This week, I have virtually no symptoms at all. It still makes me anxious, but it’s normal. ❤️

  • @chindimples04 Thank you. I know I'm making myself crazy worrying about what I can't control. But next Wednesday needs to hurry up and get here so we can clear that hurdle.

Glad your dog is ok. We also had a dog who had seizures. Managing them was sometimes challenging, but when she had one, she would be confused and sleepy afterward but none the worse for wear.
  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 10/10, 7+1

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Brookesia micra chameleon

Upcoming appointments: March 1st (1 week from today!)

How are you feeling?: pretty terrible, but I'm not sure how much of that is pregnancy related

Rants/Raves: I've had migraines two Sundays in a row. I really hope this isn't a trend because each one wipes me out for two days. Also a little nervous that frequent migraines = girl.

    Questions: none

GTKY: What is your favorite app for tracking baby? I use Ovia because I'm too lazy to look into other ones. It's basically 75% ads, which is really annoying. I used something different for DS that I think I liked better, but I don't remember what it was.

  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 10/14, 6w4d

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: baby is the size of a chocolate chip! 🍪

Upcoming appointments: I have a viability scan tomorrow... I really wish my DH could come with me, but my OB still only allows the expecting mother. 💔

How are you feeling?: I am super nervous about tomorrow. Hoping everything goes well, but also know it may not... the waiting has been brutal. I’m just glad to hopefully get some answers!

Rants/Raves: My anger hormone is on high gear. I swear everything can set me off right now. I feel bad for my family! Haha

    Questions: none right now!

GTKY: What is your favorite app for tracking baby? I really like Ovia for baby size tracking, and liked it for tracking ovulation etc. but prefer TB for community.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: blueberry!

Upcoming appointments: March 4th. Seriously time is dragging so slowly to get to that appointment.

How are you feeling?: completely exhausted. I am so tired all day long. And I made the poor choice to stay up until 10 last night to watch American Idol, when I normally go to bed at 7:45, so I am just dead today. Nauseous. I have different times of day where I feel less nauseous and literally all it takes is an hour or two of me feeling better to convince myself I’m no longer pregnant. This morning I didn’t take my B6 because I wanted to see if I still felt nauseous and yep, I do, and I regretted that choice real quick.

Rants/Raves: I have to paint a rainbow on DD’s wall sometime in the next day or two and I just don’t want to. I just want to sleep! Also DS is driving me completely insane. He never stops asking for his iPad and I want to throw it in the garbage. He gets a half hour in the AM and a half hour after school. He wakes up and won’t stop badgering me about it. I need to just give him a warning and then actually take it away for the day to show him he really will lose it if he continues to badger me about it.

    Questions:

GTKY: What is your favorite app for tracking baby? I just Google it every week and look at different sites 🤣

  • @OneRainDrop, good luck at your appointment tomorrow. I'll be thinking of you and hoping for good news.  <3

    Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 6w2d EDD: 10/15/21

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: chocolate chip or sweet pea

    Upcoming appointments:

“Initial” OB this Thursday, 2/25. I’ve been to the ER a few times and to the OB but mainly for bloodwork. Supposed to have viability US this week, but my doctor’s office ordered it wrong and has to reorder it with insurance approval 🤦🏼‍♀️

    How are you feeling?:

To just be blunt I don’t feel pregnant anymore. Saturday morning I woke up with this terrible intuition feeling that something isn’t right. My last pregnancy Sep. 20 ended in a MMC so my anxiety is out of control. I still feel tired, haven’t been able to eat much (healthy snacks as often as I can but no “meals” in a week), and bloated.

It just feels like the overwhelming nausea, occasional pelvic cramps, back pain (I have pre-existing bulging discs), swollen painful boobs just kind of all disappeared.

Rants/Raves: my SO is upset I’m on pelvic rest. However, I’m so exhausted and stressed I am more than ok with it. 🤷🏼‍♀️

    Questions:

I’d love to hear anyone’s story on vanishing symptoms.

GTKY: What is your favorite app for tracking baby?

Ovia baby because I can see the size of the baby in reference to “Parisian bakery” items.

  • @lyndsayem35 I have had some reduced symptoms lately, though two days is hardly a trend. Can't speak to possible outcomes because everything is new for me, but you're not alone in the boat.
  • @noprobalo thank you for the input. Grateful  you are here too with the same.
  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 10/5, 8 weeks today!

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a kidney bean

Upcoming appointments: Dating US and initial OB apt went well last week, measured exactly as expected based on O date. Booked for MFM apt with high level US at 11 weeks, from there will decide about CVS vs amniocentesis depending on how things look.

How are you feeling?: All the GI problems. Nauseous, heartburn, etc. Not fun.

Rants/Raves: Having a light week last week due to weather and apts was nice. Now I have to work a full week and I feel like crud.

    Questions: nothing today

GTKY: What is your favorite app for tracking baby? I mainly have been just using the bump haha

@chindimples04 Sorry about the COVID! That app looks nice, I may have to check that out.

@galentine I had my first day of feeling nauseous around 4 and a half weeks, but it was super sporadic then.

@gingermama46 Trying to find time to work out before the exhaustion hits has been rough. Lately I have been trying to just squeeze in a walk after work. I guess it is better than nothing.

@OneRainDrop Good luck with your scan today!

  • @fitzfizz yes, agreed! I brought some clothes to do some yoga during lunch today, hoping I can still get it done.
@momofmiracles31889 glad to hear someone else has found help with bonjesta. My SIL is also pregnant and suggested it. Though I never actually puke, just constant nausea and dry heaving.

  • Thank you, @fitzfizz! ❤️

@lyndsayem35 I’m so sorry you’re having to wait for your US! Hopefully they get it sorted right away. Also- totally love OVIA for the Parisian Bakery items as well! Nothing like knowing LO is the size of a chocolate chip! 🍪

  • @lyndsayem35 Thinking about you and hoping you’re just getting some relief from the symptoms for a minute rather than anything negative happening. FWIW my symptoms usually go away and then I get new ones around 6 weeks pregnant so maybe that’s happening to you. Hope the new symptoms aren’t too bad!

@chindimples04 I am so sorry you have COVID! I can’t imagine having a mild version of that + pregnancy. Do they tell you which variant you have now or not?

@aztecash FWIW I get migraines pretty regularly, and had NONE while pregnant with DD. So in my case anyway she cured them for 9 months 😊 Hope they slow down/go away for you soon!

    Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 10/6 // 8 weeks tomorrow

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: raspberry

Upcoming appointments: Just had my first OB appointment and dating u/s yesterday, going in for another appointment next Wed, then 2 weeks later, then I get to do the every-4-week thing. Since I had a missed miscarriage between 9-10 weeks they like to bring me in a lot in the first tri now.

How are you feeling?: Nauseas 100000% of the time including waking up overnight.

Rants/Raves: Disappointed in the first OB appointment. I was really hoping for a VBAC, and OB told me people who want and try VBAC are 40% likely to be successful. With a toddler at home I do NOT want to labor and then have an emergency c-section anyway, so now trying to decide if I’m going to schedule a c section which is sad to me. Trying to decide in the next month because if I’m going VBAC, I’ll go back to the midwives and skip the OB again.

Questions: Anyone here have a successful VBAC or resources to share?

GTKY: What is your favorite app for tracking baby? I only have TB app! Are there others?  :D

@Kabazaba, I'm curious why your OB told you 40% success rate for VBAC. My doctor told me 60-70% success rate, but maybe you have different circumstances than I do? Interesting. 🤔 If you are hoping for a VBAC, I hope you can get some more information or maybe find a provider who is more supportive of VBAC. Although I COMPLETELY understand the fear of a long drawn out labor ending in c-section anyway. I think I'm leaning towards a RCS for myself for that reason.
  • @galentine I had midwives and a doula last time and ended up having to pivot to a scheduled c section around 35/36 weeks because DD was breech. So I don't know if her stat was based on their practice in particular, or the fact that I never went into labor to begin with (she did mention part of the issue is that they won't induce people with prior c section, so your body has to be able to go into labor and progress on its own). TBF she said I wouldn't have to decide until 35-37 weeks as we start to see how my body was doing getting close to delivery... but, I think I'll have a lot more success with a VBAC w a midwife than an OB, so trying to decide sooner than later. The websites I've seen so far have like a 13% success rate listed (pro-VBAC websites), but I think their rate is everyone who has a c section and then has a second v section vs VBAC; and my doctor's was people who choose to try VBAC. If it was a 60-70% success rate I think I'd go for it though! So trying to research more now... Thank you for reading my novel.

  • @Kabazaba My coworker would get monthly migraines with her period caused by influx of estrogen in her system, then got pregnant with a girl and had debilitating migraines her entire 1st tri, so that's in my head. Logically I know that I'm not her, and that's not one of my triggers. I got a few occular migraines with DS but no true migraines, which was strange but a nice surprise.

My friend had an emergency C-section with her first and had a successful VBAC with her second. She was so happy with her decision to pursue a VBAC. I'm planning on a VBAC already. My midwife told me I was a prime candidate since I've already given birth vaginally without complications and I have those nice, wide, child bearing hips.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: I actually have no idea...

Upcoming appointments: next appt is 10 weeks, doing an ultrasound and genetic testing

How are you feeling?: fine so far, a little (a lot) tired but otherwise ok.

Rants/Raves: it’s going to get up to the 60’s today so I’m taking the kids to the park to run around after school!

    Questions:

GTKY: What is your favorite app for tracking baby? I use the glow app

  • @gingermama46 Bonjesta is a life saver for me! I still puke some, but without it I puke all day and feel like I’m dying. I’d probably be one of those people that end up in the hospital without it honestly. Also I ended up on it the whole pregnancy with my son bc when I’d try to get off it I’d puke so I guess I’m one of those people that has sickness the whole pregnancy. But again with bonjesta I stopped having nausea or puking later in the second trimester. So it really is a game changer for me. Oh and my son is perfectly healthy! Glad it helps you too!

@heatherdubrow the 60s!! That sounds so nice I’m so ready for spring lol tmw is 48 here so planning on a walk with my kiddos

  • Thank you @cait32 ! I am checking in with the midwives on what they think but don't have an appointment with them for a couple weeks. Hopefully I will be switching and having a successful VBAC. They knew that was my goal last time so did everything they could to set me up for success.

Upcoming appointments: Tuesday.  I had some spotting last week and had an early scan.  All seemed well.

How are you feeling?: a little nausea lately

Rants/Raves:  I just want to hear this baby's heartbeat.  Hoping to on Tuesday.  I know it is early but possible right?

Questions: Who has flown while pregnant before?  We had Disney scheduled for October (rescheduled 3 times!) and this pregnancy is a surprise ( a happy one) so we moved it to June.  My 4 year old has so been looking forward to it.  I will be 22-23 weeks for the trip and I am nervous.  Flying from PA.

  • @ReadyForaB I flew when I was around 22 weeks or so with my last babe. It was a 4 hour flight and totally forgettable. Just make sure to hydrate and move around a bit! I'd honestly be more concerned about my comfort at Disney in June because holy hell is FL hot and muggy in June 🥵. You're a braver soul than I.
  • @ReadyForaB, I flew a couple times during my DD's pregnancy, and it wasn't a big deal.  Agreed with @vampirina that hydrating and walking around is a good plan. Although if the flight is short, I wouldn't even worry too much about moving around, since I'm sure you'll walk a lot at the airport. :)
  • @vampirina Thank you!  I know I am nervous about that too!!! It's mainly for my 4 year old who has been talking about Disney for what seems like forever now.  We were supposed to go September 2020, then May 2021 then October 2021.  Now June 2021 haha. I am a little bummed I won't be able to ride much.  But weather wise, Florida is hot most months, right? haha.  I will just have to not go crazy and take it easy a bit which might be a little hard as it's our first time and I am SO excited.

  • @readyforaB During my first pregnancy I traveled all the time for work, I think the last week I traveled was 30 weeks.  So a couple of tips, definitely get an end seat, while people are more than willing to get up for you especially when you tell them you are pregnant, it's just easier.  Take advantage of preboarding let them know when you get there that you are pregnant, when you are pregnant you qualify (I think most airlines do this). Then I would recommend getting on the plane and using the restroom.  It's like telling your kid to go before a long trip.  I agree with @galentine and @vampirina stay hydrate and do some mini exercises in your seat.  Bring snacks which I assume you will partly because of your 4 year old.  I also brought something I like to smell (I had essential oil - lemon), I started bringing that because one of my plane rides had an awful smell.
  • @ReadyForaB we had planned a two week Europe trip before getting pregnant, and DS was a bit of a surprise. I think I was 16 and 17 weeks? So longer flight. Second staying hydrated and walking around. I also wore compression socks that MIL had given me that helped with any swelling. My OB was fine with the whole trip, just said no charcuterie foods and alcohol!
  • @ReadyForaB I am seven weeks today and at my ultrasound on Tuesday, we did see the heartbeat. So it's entirely possible you'll be able to next week. Fingers crossed for you!

Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 7 weeks, edd October 15

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a onesie snap

Upcoming appointments: Just had my first appointment this week; next is in a month.

How are you feeling?: Fine? Some mild cravings and aversions, and hungrier than usual, which I didn't experience when preg with my daughter.

Rants/Raves: anyone else being weird about telling people the news? I kind of wanted to keep it quiet for a while because I wanted to avoid people's reactions (I don't know why), but my husband accidentally spilled the beans today to my parents, haha.

Questions: anyone else having a hard time being pregnant while caring for a toddler?

GTKY: What is your favorite app for tracking baby? I don't really have a favorite. I used TB and Ovia last time, but I will probably just stick with TB this time.

  • @pizzaplz, yes! I, too, am anxious about telling people. This baby will arrive right after my DD turns 2, which closer together than the norm among my friends and family. We were very much planning and hoping for a pregnancy, but I'm worried people will think it was unplanned. I don't want to face the judgment.
