Im reviving this post bc we finally told my family over the holidays at 16 weeks (mom's side, on Christmas) and 17 weeks (dad's side, new year's eve). We gave my mom a present that was a little penguin that said "jingle bell" on the tummy and was about the size of the fetus at that time. H had the idea of changing it to "jingle belly" as a clue. Underneath that, there was a card in the box that said "your grandchild is this big." She cried.
My dad, i just had DH tell him bc i was too embarrassed. He was over the moon with joy
I'm reviving this thread lol I FINALLY announced our pregnancy on FB this morning. It's official! It's out in the world lol I feel excited and happy and relieved to finally share the news with everyone but still a bit stressed and nervous of course because of PGAL brain, but im trying to stay positive. DH is a Huge Star Wars fan so this is what we did for our announcement 😆
@mindyb2019 YAY!!! Congrats on this huge milestone!! I love your announcement, my guys are huge Star Wars fans too and it's something DH has been so excited to share with them (we are watching lego Star Wars as I write this!!). Baby gap has some really really cute Mando/baby yoda stuff right now for infants. Yay!!
@_orchid_ aww thanks 🥰 It was a huge milestone for me. Including putting #rainbowbaby on it. I've never shared that with anyone. DH and I and my step daughter watch lego star wars too lol oh cool. Ok thanks for the tip. I'll have to go to baby gap and look for some baby yoda clothes. I saw the cutest star wars onsie online the other day that I want to get. Lol
@mindyb2019 we’ve told our close friends but I haven’t done a social media post yet. I’m thinking of doing it end of the month or early March, hopefully I’ll have a huge bump picture by then
So I did do a very small announcement to some family. I printed off a valentine card from walgreens with a picture of my kids and it said “happy Valentine’s Day from **,**,**, and baby” I got some texts from my family saying “thanks for the card your kids are so cute” but nothing about the baby so I figured maybe people werent reading the message. I got a response from Dh’s uncle the one who we aren’t really close to out of the few we sent out saying congrats! So I texted dh’s other aunt/uncle who we are close to asking if they got it and they were like “yeah and we saw the +1” but no congrats or anything....so either people don’t care bc baby 4 or some didn’t see the message I guess. Oh well 🤷♀️ I guess my plan to not make a social media announcement will stick and we will just start showing up places with a 4th baby haha.
@MelissaMay82 thanks. I felt the same way. Some of the family that acknowledged the card I truly don’t think they saw the message so I left it at that since we’re keeping quiet....but for the family who said we saw the +1....I found it odd and and rude. Oh well, I’m not going to let someone being rude to ruin a happy time for us
@dogmom5 Wow! I am one of 6 and I was a teenager when my mom had #5 and #6. I still remember all the mean comments she got, but others really celebrated both babies with her/us. Hope you can forget the haters and bask in the joy and celebration with others! I love how each child brings a different dynamic and fulfills the family in their own way.
