@fameonmain2 luckily it was mainly snack stock ups for the pantry and some frozen stuff, so everything can air out. I did spray a crapton of air freshener around the house though. We have delicious leftovers for tonight already, my husband made italian-seasoning-balsamic pork last night

I checked into a hotel the other day when I had to travel and the room they gave me reeked of smoke. I asked to change. Also so inconsiderate...smoking in a non-smoking room.
@lisa3379 YES! Like, older people I totes get. They had terrible advertising that promoted smoking as sexy and the 'terrible for you' news wasn't legit everywhere. But I mean, even at my age in elementary school we had people come in like once a semester to tell us how BAD smoking was. The stats are out. It's printed ON THE CARTONS. I just... don't get it. I can think of a ZILLION ways to rebel against my parents and 'society' that don't involve legit killing myself, wasting thousands of dollars a year, and reeking of grossness.
I remember when I was little and restaurants still had smoking/non-smoking sections. I just... I can't even fathom how we did it back then and can't imagine now...
Pet peeve / UO: When people lament "I haven't been on a vacation in YEARS. How can anyone afford a vacation?!?" and yet they smoke daily. And I start mathing out the cost of their cigarettes per year (usually a minimum of $1500) and I'm all like "Well, THERE's your vacation right there... :: shrugs :: Sucks to be you!"

So I don't remember it being bad the past couple times I was in Europe, but in like 2005-2007, I remember eating in Germany and wanting to absolutely vomit because people were smoking in the restaurant. And then I was walking around in Amsterdam, outside, mind you, and yeah, it was kinda crowded, but even then I felt suffocated by all the smoke around me. It's just so gross.

IDK if it 's because it's a college town, or because everyone there is so chill all the time or what, but it felt like being in an 80s movie, it was just everywhere. We moved there in our mid-20s, and I think at least half the people I knew smoked. DH even smoked for a few years while we lived there I don't understand how anyone who grew up in the 80s or 90s ends up smoking. Plus, DH will tell you he immediately felt better when he stopped. It makes your body feel awful, why would you do that on purpose?
@stormageddon-darklordofall luckily smoke isn't a migraine trigger for me, although weirdly I do get a cigarette smoke olfactory aura fairly often
My dad smoked for 30+ years, and it took a close family member being diagnosed with lung cancer to finally make the quitting stick. That was over 15 years ago now, thankfully.
I also remember the smoking/nonsmoking sections at restaurants from when I was a kid. We always sat in the nonsmoking section. Friendlys always reminds me of it because the one we went to is still there, and there was a very distinct physical divide between smoking and nonsmoking because the restaurant is shaped like a U with the kitchen in the middle.
I tend not to think all that much about smoking anymore because no one close to me smokes anymore. It's mindboggling to think how common it was just a generation or two ago. Many of my and my husband's family members are former smokers.
@kiki047 I think all UOs can be FFFCs, but not all FFFCs are UOs. I have one for today that doesn’t fall into the UO category but haven’t started the thread because I need to find a gif!!
@kiki047 that’s so funny, I had that same thought yesterday. With my flower opinion, I thought of it a few days ago, but then I had an argument with myself whether that was a UO or a FFFC 😂
I think that some people might have FFFC that don’t really fall in the UO category, so maybe start it? Why not? 🙂
Does anyone have a night eye cream or something to reduce skin redness that they love? I have combination skin, and it seems like anything I use to help with my greasy forehead makes it red, and anything I use to help reduce the dryness everywhere else I can't use on my eyes.
