God I love Schitts Creek. Sometimes I wish I could forget everything in the entire show just so I can go back and watch it again without knowing what happens.
Approved for the mortgage and appraisal tomorrow is the last big hurdle for the house. Hopefully the house meets all the loan conditions since it does need some repairs.

@BourbonBiscuits Ha- I know. It is the best. I was just re-watching last night. I also binged Grace and Frankie and it has the same build. It starts slow and serious and then develops the characters. They are longer episodes, too!
@claireloSC Exciting!!! Congrats on the mortgage and good luck tomorrow! Is it far from where you live now?

Ugh! Did anyone else hear that police had to pepper spray people in downtown Tampa last night to get them to go home? So many people in the crowds not wearing masks. It makes me feel hopeless that this pandemic will ever end.
Also, anyone else over first tri? I am only 12w2d and I am so constipated. Allergic to Colace and Miralax. I strained so hard last night out of pure desperation. Anyone have tips?

@bobbyflies2020 ugh, that is so frustrating about the Tampa situation last night! I definitely watched the game so I'm part of the problem, but I think they really probably shouldn't have had it this year... so much about it seemed like a recipe for pandemic disaster.
@bobbyflies2020 try fiber gummies, raisin bran, mirelax. And thank you! About 15 min from my house now. Same town as where DD is going to school now. It's closer to the city and work for us and also in more of a town. where we live now is pretty rural.

@bobbyflies2020 get a squatty potty or a way to elevate your feet. In my kids' bathroom the toilet is close to the edge of the bathtub and putting my feet up on the tub helps every time.
@bobbyflies2020 Squatty potty was a game changer for me. I also got one of those bidets that you attach to the toilet and I adore it! No more full rolls of toilet paper after a difficult one.
Try also rubbing your belly pretty hard and changing your position from leaning over and sitting up helps me a bit too.
The fetal Doppler... did you just get one on Amazon or from a friend who was done with it? I was hoping to find one second hand but haven’t been able to. Any brand recs? I’m 12 weeks so would need to detect heartbeat by about 13 I guess, by the time I get it.
@bonanza1226 i got a used one off FB marketplace. I can’t remember where I put it though and I don’t remember the brand. I know it’s a popular one though and it worked very well for me! I was planning to look for it this afternoon so I’ll let you know the brand when I find it.
I’ve decided to hire a cleaning lady. I have a 2 and almost 1 yr old, I’m pregnant, and DH doesn’t help so I have no problem justifying it. Anyone else have one?
DD has a minor cold (runny nose/cough) sh she’s home today and tomorrow and hopefully back to school Wednesday. I just need a break to watch my shows and not have to worry about a 6 year old observing everything. Darn kid. 😉
@bobbyflies2020 have you tried dulcolax? It really helped me in my last pregnancy.
@jynjer3 Yes- Cleaners are such a life-saver if you can afford them! I started right when I tested positive and we have them deep clean every other month. Last time I even got a room at local hotel with my 4 year old and then my partner joined us when they were done.

@jynjer3, I told DH that I want to get one for my birthday this year. I’m staying up on the cleaning pretty well (I’m also neurotic and can’t stand clutter/messes), but I want to get my house MAJORLY deep-cleaned right before baby arrives. I’m talking baseboards, window/slider tracks, scrubbed walls, grout, windows/blinds. Basically, all the stuff that I only get to every few months or so. I don’t see myself doing that nine months pregnant, and I want everything sparkling when baby arrives! 😂
Another fan of having a cleaner if you are able to! Ours come every other week and it makes such a difference (we have three pets so it gets messy fast). Everyone's mileage varies with what luxuries they feel are truly "worth it," but for my money you can't beat the value of the time you get back + the increased enjoyment of your surroundings that a cleaner gives you.
@bonanza1226 I got a new contec doppler off eBay for about $30. There isn't a wand like a sonoline b kind, but a lot cheaper. I found the heartbeat at 11+1.
@bobbyflies2020 you can also try magnesium for constipation. I like the calm brand bc it's the gentlest. Mag citrate/oxide would be much stronger laxative. Milk of magnesia is another kind (magnesium hydroxide).
My baby turns 1 today! Hard to believe she’s already a year old! @bobbyflies2020 I 2nd the Natural Calm magnesium for constipation! While pregnant with my last baby I got their gummies. (raspberry lemons I think) They were so delicious I ate way too many and got diarrhea.
@bobbyflies2020 I have the worst constipation, too. i use miralax twice per day. I wonder what GI would use instead for colonoscopy prep? Prunes could definitely help if you can tolerate them. And staying super hydrated and moving around as much as possible. I've tried other stuff too like fiber gummies, metamucil, mag etc, but nothing helps.
@jynjer3 yes yes yes to cleaning help! we've had our wonderful cleaners for 4 years and its the best thing ever. they come every other week. we do try to distance from them right now, which means they don't clean a part of the house (usually the basement). i would give up a LOT of things before I gave them up.
I'm nervous. I rescheduled my COVID vaccine for tomorrow. I was going to wait until 13 weeks but I'm just sick of the constant worry (take care of COVID patients at work). I don't even know if I could tell the difference between MS and vaccine side effects, but not sure if thats good or bad.
@litzi-2 good luck with your vax appt tomorrow. I’m getting mine Thursday so we can compare notes.
It is looking like DH may get a promotion very soon. This is well deserved and it is a long time coming. I’m so hoping it works out for him. Only downside is he will be required to be on hurricane squad during weather events meaning I’ll be alone with 2 dogs and 2 kids to either shelter through the storm or evacuate. We have no family near us. The thought of being alone during the storms scares the crap out of me.
@surrenderdorothy that is great! But also terrifying. Maybe there are other spouses/parents in the area who work with YH who you could band together with.
I'm pretty jealous of all you getting vaccines. I won't be eligible until probably after babe is here. Good luck!
It was my 2 year wedding anniversary today. I gave a quick kiss this morning as the bathroom smell was seeping out. And then I had probably the worst headache I've ever had all evening and didn't get off the couch. Love you!
@surrenderdorothy yay for a promotion! FX the hurricanes go easy on you. I grew up in NC so we got hit by hurricanes occasionally but I was not responsible for a house, kids, or pets so it was always just a big party. I can imagine it’d be a different story home alone with kids and pets!
@surrenderdorothy vax 1/2 done! just a sore arm thus far and the usual feelings of crap that are impossible to differentiate from the usual morning sickness. good luck thursday!
Still on the fence about the vax but I can’t imagine the 2nd one with how I’m feeling now. I’ll reapproach the subject once I feel better. It was my husband who had reservations. About half my team felt fine, most just had sore arms. One ended up getting covid just after the first dose (likely brewing but asymptomatic when she go it), and one missed work due to symptoms.
@obsessedwithoranges good to hear! yup, nothing else different for me so far! @emmylou78 i'm not looking forward to the second one. I might schedule out 4-5 weeks instead of 3, seeing all the info about likely just fine to delay second dose (and it just makes sense, I understand they probably did 21 days apart to expedite the study).
1st vax done! Feel fine although uncomfortable for being in the car for 8 hour straight today (2.5 hour each way, plus waited 3 hours in line at the drive through vax site.) The whole experience was really surreal because the vax site was literally in a livestock barn. This definitely takes the cake for one of the weirdest life experiences yet. Anyway thankful I have one under my belt and for the health care workers who stood in the the pouring down rain to organize cars and administer vaccines.
Our first baby is 4 today! 😭 I am so unprepared. And I don't mean emotionally, I mean literally. Present is not wrapped (one of them hasn't even arrived), haven't made a cake...
Also, BB2 woke up this morning with a bloody nose. When MH went to get him from his crib, the poor kid was just covered. I'm off to get a humidifier for his room this afternoon. Maybe I will pick up a cake while I'm at it.
We told DD today. She’s still insisting she doesn’t want to be a big sister and no baby. She did try on her big sister shirt and read two of the big sister books we got her so I’m taking that as a good step. She’s 6.5 but has ASD so change is hard for her, it’s one of the reasons we wanted to know the sex so we could have more time to prep her.

@claireloSC fingers and toes crossed that there are no issues! A new house is so exciting (after the stressful part is over. Ha)
