(Sorry for the ranting intro) I am so in my head right now I can't focus on anything!  We got a surprise BFP Sunday, we've been trying for over a decade, 2 IUI's 2 Egg retrievals' 3 FETs and 2 pregnancy losses at 10wks and 8 wks.  We weren't trying, had decided to move on with life.  Fostering a 14 year old I adore and we will likely adopt and then BAM, I'm 3 days late, I'm never late.  Took a test and sure enough it's our first spontaneous prrgnancy since we started trying somewhere around 2010.  I'm 38 and hubby is 44.

We had one embryo left on ice we were debating on what to do with because I really don't want to go through another loss.  I am struggling so hard to get past the skepticism and find some joy in this.  I'm ecstatic if we make it through this but we just can't visualize the end.

Took a blood test yesterday afternoon at my RE (who I hadn't seen since our last MC Jan 2019).  Should get the results this morning.  So much anxiety!

Ladies...I had a miscarriage this morning. Started spotting red last night, no cramps, but when I woke up this morning I felt a gush and I passed some tissue. My US showed a completely empty uterus...just days after seeing a heartbeat. Doing IVF, it was a genetically normal embryo...not sure why this would happen?
We found out it was a girl and my doctor confirmed that what I passed was the sac. I didn't have any pain or cramping. Such a bummer...I would be 7 weeks Friday

Update on my Beta from yesterday (4w4d).  HCG=104, progesterone 3.6.
RE is concerned about the low progesterone, will retest tomorrow to see if the HCG is progressing as expected - hoping to get same day results.  If HCG is good, we will do progesterone supplements, which was standard for my FET cycles, so I don't have any history to compare to as far as unsupplemented levels...but from research I think my progesterone should be at least 5 by now.
Some cramping and reddish spotting today but nothing heavy, still concerning.  And my breasts are still sore, which was always the first symptom to go away in my two losses..  My brain is symptom spotting like crazy, but I'll leave it at that.

I found out my beta yesterday at 6w4d was 6549...shouldn't it be over 10,000 by almost 7 weeks?
After my 3rd beta I never had any bloodwork to make sure it was still increasing or that the progesterone was ok...

Yes :( I am not an expert on losses but according to BetaBase.info it should have been over 10,000.

@ashleyhj29 there's actually a huge range, that value is technically within range

Can I be honest? I feel really weird about being pregnant. I'm simultaneously terrified of losing this baby and filled with guilt about actually getting pregnant when so many are still struggling. I don't feel like I fit in anywhere.

We had a baby shower at work 2 weeks ago for a male coworker whose wife is pregnant with their 3rd child and 1st boy. My office gave him a "Worth the Wait" onesie and the cake said "Finally a Boy". Maybe it's my hormones, but I really struggled with how flippantly they were treating having to wait for a specific gender, especially when they've had all 3 of their children in a very short time frame. I feel like no one would understand why this was offensive to me, but it hit me wrong.

I'm so happy to meet you all! We are pregnant after two rounds of IVF, our first was a total flop, nothing to freeze and we transferred two sub par embryos. This round we had 6 perfect embryos and transferred one, which stuck around!

My symptoms have been ultra mild so far. I'm tired and cranky but no nausea or anything which is wonderful. My midwife told me this morning that IVF patients often just handle symptoms more easily since they've been on hormones for a long time already so I'll be holding that close when I worry about "should I be puking?".

I'm so glad to see there are others here after infertility treatment, congratulations all!

@johannafrancis We're due date twins! This is also my first pregnancy after IVF. We only did 1 round, but only got 1 embryo from it, so tensions have been high.

    Glad you found us!

@shoogapoff I think those are totally normal feelings. When I was struggling to conceive my first so many people I knew got pregnant when they were barely trying and then were upset about the sex or other things despite having healthy babies. It was frustrating. Also it was totally a huge faux pas on my last BMB if you expressed gender disappointment when so many struggle just to have a healthy baby. So I think a lot of people share your feelings! You shouldn't feel bad about having your pregnancy after all this time-you fit right in here! I get the guilt feeling but all of us who were actively trying are so happy when that moment comes so I hope you can enjoy some of it. Plus, you're getting close to out of the danger zone for the most part! Hang in there.

Hey Infertility friends. I stopped PIO injections on Sunday night and had spotting yesterday (Wednesday) and today. I called my doctor yesterday and she said to go to the ER if it got to the point of soaking a pad but it definitely never got to that point. I am relieved it wasn't heavy but I can't help but feel scared by the sight of any blood right now. Just wanted to get this off my heart.

@johannafrancis I'm sorry for the worry. Do you have an ultrasound coming up to confirm everything is alright? Hopefully it's just minor spotting, there are lots of reasons that can happen and it doesn't hurt the baby.

We have an ultrasound coming up on the 20th, and the spotting has been either super light or non existent so that's making me hopeful. My OB was confident it was cervical and not uterine so I'm trying hard not to worry.

@johannafrancis I'm glad the spotting has been minimal. I'm supposed to graduate from my RE tomorrow, and I'm very nervous about stopping progesterone. Did you have your levels checked while you were on progesterone? I keep trying to remember that lots of women have babies without supplementation, but it still feels like a security blanket is being taken away. Fx for a great ultrasound on the 20th! I'm glad you have an OB who is able to reassure you.

@shoogapoff I stopped last week and they haven't checked me, in fact they'd already graduated me. Your placenta is doing this job now, and has been for a couple weeks in your case, so you really don't need the progesterone anymore. <3 Good luck!
