@DoubleUp8 That's insane, your poor friend! Should we make it that far, I'm not waiting at all to head out, way too nervous. The hospital is 20-25 minutes away, but if there's traffic it can be closer to 45. Worst case, I suppose, there are two other hospitals on the way to ours. Not ideal, since my OB wouldn't be there, but far better than doing it in the car
Has anyone told their boss yet? I don’t know why I’m so scared to! But I want to tell him next week before the year-ends, especially since he’s finalizing the budget.
@wendy838 I told my boss week before last, I was super scared to do it too but he was super supportive about everything! Much more than I was expecting actually, turned out to be a huge relief!
@wendy838 yes. I told my boss like at week 5 lol I normally wouldn't have done it that early but because of what happened with my other 2 losses, I needed her to know early just in case I was bleeding again and had to run out to the hospital or get tests done. Shes always been fine with me being pregnant and happy for me.
I told my boss at like week 4 🤣 but we were both dealing with infertility so we talked about treatments and what not all the time so no way I could have waited lol
I haven't told him yet. He's been very supportive, it's partially that I don't want to jinx it and partially that I don't want to get him excited just to let him down again. He's a grandfather himself with a daughter my age, and always talks about all the babies that have been born during his tenure as our boss.
*TW* loss
A year ago he selected me for my current job, which was a promotion. Unbeknownst to him, I was pregnant, so after he offered me the job I told him I was pregnant and asked if that would present any problem. He was totally happy for me and ready to work out whatever was needed, but later that week was when we found out that our baby wasn't meant to be. He was very supportive as I took off work for testing and ultimately the termination, as well as when I came back to work afterwards. When I got pregnant again he was super happy and excited for us... and then there was the miscarriage. He was again very supportive, but I know he also questioned whether he put too much stress on me, causing the loss (I explained to him that's not the case, as did someone else). I know he'll be happy and supportive, whatever happens, but mostly I'm just not ready to acknowledge it yet in that way. I'll probably tell him next month.
I wanted to tell my work on Thursday on our weekly call with my managers but we had to cut our mtg short because we had another one. So I’m gonna try to find a way this week as I’d like to announce to others and I have 2 of my bosses on Social media as we are friends. Ahhh.
@wendy838 I told my boss after my 8 week check up. I have a female boss. We had a big virtual weekend we were running together when I was 10 weeks, and I felt it best she know before we spent 3 days working 12 hours a day together.

I had to tell my nurse managers as soon as I find out. There are certain surgeries that I can’t go into if I am pregnant and I didn’t want to have covid positive patients.
I'm thinking I will probably tell late January. I'll likely work till the end of the school year (or as close as possible) so they won't need a sub till September.
Paternity leave. My H just found out that his work is letting them roll over vacation to December 31, 2021 (usually they have to use it all by June 1). So he has like 10 days to roll over. So he’s gonna get 5 days at the beginning, then can take 5 weeks of paternity leave and then take 2 weeks extra off. So a total of 8 weeks off when new baby comes. Then he will take 3-4 off at the end of the year so we can hopefully go to Canada. 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽
I told my boss last week. Work has been super stressful with us having to train an offshore team in India and I was so nervous telling him. During the call, he was more nervous than me because he thought I was quitting. 🤣
He’s happy though, and I’m super relieved I finally told him.
