Trying to Get Pregnant

TWW Wednesday 12/16

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. Thanks for keeping this a safe place for us all to engage!**

R/R: boy am I really procrastinating at work this week. Struggling to get motivated to focus. All Christmas shopping is done and everything that has arrived at the house has been wrapped! Stayed up really late doing that. I was kind of evil by individually wrapping each of DH's Copic Markers before putting them in a box 😏. I guess wrapping gifts is more motivating than putting another presentation together 😆. Now I'm just waiting on my order from Kohl's to arrive and I'm all set!
CS/Q: had a lovely little temp bump this morning

ETA: finally fixed the bizarre spacing that was going on

  • @inthewoods23 I love your procrastination method of wrapping gifts. I need to do that too cause my front foyer is filled with unopened boxes from Amazon and Walmart full of things that need to be wrapped with several more arriving today. Your chart looks great!!

     Month/Cycle: 18/11

    CD/DPO: 32/11

    Timing: good

    Typical LP length: 12-13

Testing: tomorrow, maybe later today since my test had an error this morning 🤦‍♀️

R/R: this week feels like it's going so slowly. We've had several more cases pop up in my school district but we're remaining in person. I'm not agreeing with how contact tracing is occurring and how they determine "close contact." Like your sibling could be determined a close contact to someone else and have to quarantine, but you could still come to school even though you live in the same house. That makes absolutely no sense to me. I'm counting down to winter break a week from today.

    CS/Q:
  • @gingermama29 lol yeah a corner of our dining room had a stack of boxes until I took care of those this weekend. Your chart is also looking great! I can understand having siblings quarantine if one gets sick so then you're finding 2 sets of "close contact" people. I don't think there's much of an issue when you're like.... 2nd hand contact. I don't believe the virus "skips" people? I think the idea is that you shouldn't worry about it unless it's shown that the virus did spread from that close contact.

  • @inthewoods23 work procrastination at its finest here as well! It will get done....eventually!

@gingermama29 your contact tracing sounds very similar to our county/district. I had to quarantine after my “close contact” but nobody else in my house or who I came in contact with had to....doesn’t make sense to me. Agreed that this is the slowest week ever. Your chart is looking awfully gorgeous.

    Month/Cycle: 7/7

R/R: My COVID test came back negative. I’m still staying home and away from everyone for a few more days, just to ensure I don’t develop symptoms later. But for the moment, I’m very relieved.

CS/Q: temp dip this morning, but I was very dead asleep when I temped and I’m not sure if I did a great job getting the thermometer in my mouth. 🤣

  • Happy to hear your negative covid test! @chindimples04. And way to be on it @inthewoods23. A ton of my Amazon purchases came yesterday so I shoved them all at the back of my closet but I did mail out 1 present to my nephew.

R/R: my morning has been tackling one obstacle after the next. You know how there’s always those certain things or subjects that grind your gears... well I’m on my third one of those and it’s only just lunch!

  • @inthewoods23 good job procrastinating! How frustrated is YH going to be on Christmas morning?
@gingermama29 yeah, that quarantine strategy doesn't make sense to me. Growing up, if someone in my house got a cold, everyone else would eventually come down with it. No matter how hard you try, there's no way to fully isolate yourself from the ppl you live with in a way that guarantees no transference of germs. But I'm not a public health expert.
@chindimples04 yay for a negative Covid test. 🤞🏻that doesn't change / you don't develop symptoms.
@emmylou78 did you niece end up showing up? What's grinding your gears today?

    Month/Cycle: 11/11

    CD/DPO: 25/13

    Timing: excellent b/c of IUI

Typical LP length: 17 days on progesterone

Testing: beta is tomorrow; still haven't touched an HPT.

R/R: I ate something yesterday that is totally wrecking my GI tract. I'm pretty sure I know what the culprit is: almond yogurt. I had done an at home food sensitivity test in July, at the same time as I was starting my Whole30, and it came back with a HIGH sensitivity for almonds. So, I've been completely off of anything almond related since then. But then I consulted with a nutritionist in October and she said that sometimes sensitivities can resolve when you eliminate the real culprits of inflammation (i.e. gluten). Well, I can tell you that today I feel the same way I felt when I ate a burrito (gluten-full) a month ago. Argh. So, almonds are now back on the DO NOT EAT list.

Today is my last "official" day of work before holiday break until Jan 4. We have an annual all-hands tomorrow for 2 hrs (!!!!) which I'll tune into, but I expect no more work until after the holidays. (I'm lying; I have some thing I'll be "cleaning up" / catching up on during the 2 week break.)

CS/Q: I might ask this in the IF thread: for anyone that temps vaginally, how do you "clean" your thermometer? After each use? Do you wash? Do you use a wipe?

  • @acleverusername when I temped I did it vaginally and I bought a box of alcohol wipes and would wipe off with that and then rinse every day. I’m assuming google told me to, although I can’t remember
  • I had a crazy day and didn’t get to check in but it was a BFN and I’m just WFAF now, so I may be in WTO by tomorrow!

R/R: I woke up 45 minutes early today, not on purpose. But instead of laying in bed, I decided to get up and do a peloton bike ride (on the app, I don't own the bike). This was a very rare decision for me...like I never do morning workouts and barely get any workouts in. But I am really glad I did it. I actually feel better about myself and felt like it was a productive start to the day. Not sure if I will ever do it again...but something I should probably consider!

    CS/Q:

emmylou78 Yikes! I hope the rest of the day went well.

gingermama29 That is super weird. We define anyone who lives with or was in close contact with someone (15 minutes/within 6 feet) as needing to quarantine. So we keep siblings/relatives home. That's super weird they wouldn't quarantine at least the siblings. Now, we wouldn't quarantine a tertiary contact (so the students who were around the sibling who didn't test positive).

inthewoods23 I am the worlds worst gift wrapper...so I would choose to make a presentation  :D

chindimples04 Woohoo on a negative covid test, glad you are healthy! How long has it been since you were exposed?

  • @bmo88 wow - I'm inspired by how you started your day. I did the opposite: woke up early, took Synthroid and was working up the energy to go for my morning walk. Then decided I was still tired and went back to bed until 8:10! 😆

  • @acleverusername: this was probably a one time thing 🤣😂 hopefully your laying in bed was relaxing!
  • @inthewoods23 you inspired me to wrap presents tonight.

@chindimples04 so glad your covid test was negative! I'm sure that's a big relief!

@emmylou78 I hope your afternoon was less crazy than your morning.

@acleverusername I'm super jealous that tomorrow is your last day until after the new year. We have the rest of this week and 3 days next week to get through.

@bows22 sorry friend. Hugs 💕. Will you be seeing your RE next cycle?

@bmo88 kudos to you for getting in a morning workout. I really wish I had that motivation. I love sleep too much to get up any earlier than I absolutely have to.
  • @acleverusername.  No niece. 🙄. We’re on the third day now. Totally MIA. And I had a silly complaint for 15 minutes on the phone first thing this morning. Someone felt that someone didn’t do something right. Then so many calls and emails about a process that had a very poor roll-out and no specific point person who’s actually running the show. And they disabled all the USBs at work, which is problematic when I need it to upload items to our electronic health records (they were aware since august of the IP addresses I needed exempt). We made it through though!

    @bows22 mentioned.

  • @emmylou78 ? I’m confused.
