I went into my online chart today to see if I can find any updates on my NT scan or TW..............
see if there was any other info on the loss of baby B

and all of a sudden, in my diagnoses related to my visit was the code "pregnancy complications related to obesity."..OK I am definately overweight, but I do not think of myself as obese, and I never complained about any pregnancy symptoms related to my weight. It also really pisses me off that this wasnt discussed with me at my visit. Why would they put this in my active problems list! Im really annoyed. Picture of me last Christmas, which is the most recent body pic i have, but I weigh exactly the same now.
@mrs_massie Ugh, seriously? First off, you look amazing. I'm guessing they just plugged in your BMI and that's why it triggered "obesity"? I'm short and have a naturally-dense body type, so while I am overweight the "target weight" for a standard BMI calculator is way too low. The only time I've been able to get even close to a normal BMI as an adult is when I was sick. Still stupid, as that's not at all what you discussed.
@mrs_massie - Okay, first of all you do not look overweight at all! You're gorgeous! Second, I wouldn't really pay attention to those codes, they literally change all the time probably based on what the medical office personnel felt like clicking that day. They will read the info from your visit, notes from the doctor, and then write it all up. It's usually not the doctors or nurses writing up that information. So hopefully that helps you feel less pissed at your doctor.
My rant is I’m back at my ob office Bc the person who does the NIPT blood draws was out yesterday. So I had to figure out how to get here on lunch so I could get it done. Or they could have mailed it to my home and I could have taken to another facility blah blah blah. This is the faster method. I’m just annoyed that I have to come back.
@sugarcoateddonut i dont think so because there were other codes that involved obesity. This particular one just really annoyed me because I feel like they are relating that to my loss.
@mrs_massie I'd also be very annoyed and would be calling them right away. I'm no medical professional, but I don't think I need a degree to tell you you're definitely not obese. very puzzling that they would put that without speaking to you about it.
That’s ridiculous! I’m sorry @mrs_massie! A good thing that I like to keep in mind is that the “inventor” of the BMI created the designations solely for Caucasian males and then it was scaled for everyone. Additionally, the intention was never to have the BMI be an indicator of health, but simply a metric like height or heart rate. The current medical community seems to look at it like: calculation, BMI, health designation. Very frustrating!

I just want to rant about not being able to imbibe around the holidays. What was better than sitting by my tree while enjoying a martini and noshing on soft cheese with crackers while watching Christmas Vacation for the 9,476th time? Nothing, I tell you. Nothing.
@kfc1983 I had been totally fine about not drinking this whole time but my birthday was last week and we ordered Mexican food. It made me want a margarita so bad! I'm not a big drinker under any circumstances, but I definitely had that moment of wishing I could have one!!

@kfc1983@Maggie1202 I'm with you on that! we went out for dinner yesterday and I really wanted a Bloody Caesar which is my favourite cocktail. Yes I can have a virgin one, but it's not the same
I’m also sick of the nausea. I mean, I’m definitely doing better than a month ago or even a week ago. But I just want to be done!! I’m tired of being tired and nauseous and dizzy all the time. I want to bake and cook and craft but if I do anything other than lay on my butt I get so dizzy and nauseous!
Other vent: my mom me she was getting DD3 a tablet for Christmas, which we already did. She gave a snotty reply and hasn’t talked to me since. It’s so petty and I’m so frustrated.

@MelissaMay82 Bloody Caesar is a Bloody Mary but instead of normal tomato juice, it’s Clamato juice, which is kinda like tomato juice with added spices, dried clam broth and MSG. It sounds gross, but it’s so good. 😂 people either love it or hate it
So I have been craving baked chicken rice and veggies today. My DH didn’t want to make supper by the time he got home from work so I was like ok let’s go get some baked chicken from the grocery store and I can do a frozen veggie and rice at home. He goes into the store by himself and comes out with a bucket of fried chicken.......😭🤢🙄 looks like I’m not eating tonight
@kfc1983 I miss alcohol so much and it’s always situational like you describe. Eggnog on Christmas Eve, yes! Brandy and hot cocoa with a Christmas movie, absolutely! Full bodied red with braised meat, necessary! Champagne on New Years! Luckily DH still makes himself cocktails so I just enjoy sips. He’s also gotten pretty good at mocktails. I’ve found the key is about not making them sweet. I got Seedlip this time and I’m looking forward to fully exploring those when I’m feeling 100%. I also drink small pours of wine with some meals, like I measure the wine out in a measuring cup so I know exactly how much I’m drinking.
What all of you said. Plus, I hate that pregnant women are a high risk group for covid and then put at greater risk of contracting it via all these doctor appointments. My ultrasounds are at a large hospital. I go in the main entrance and it's crowded! Impossible to be alone in the elevator. Wait in a small room with many other women. It's the most people I've been around in 9 months, and with rates rising in NYC, it made me really nervous. At least everyone wears masks.
@kfc1983 It's wine for me. I love cocktails and beer, too, but my husband drinks those so he lets me have a tiny sip (or smell) which helps. Wine, however, he likes but will only drink for very particular things. Now that it's getting cold I'm going to be craving some scotch, too.
Like @Omie_Wise, I do occasionally have a very small glass, like on Thanksgiving and maybe on Christmas. I drink it super slowly (I'm barely even sipping, it's more wetting my lip and licking it off), so it lasts me all night. As I get further along I may do this a bit more often, but keeping it limited in first trimester. One positive is that I'm totally savoring and appreciating the little bits that I do have.
On the mocktails front, I've had good luck experimenting with shrubs and bitters (yes, bitters have alcohol, but you use so little it's negligible), as well as fun juices. It's not the same, but at least makes me feel like I'm having something fun. I haven't tried Seedlip or the other NA "liquors" yet, after seeing some mixed reviews, so would love to hear feedback on it! I tried NA wine and wasn't a fan (too sweet, just tasted like juice), but did find that I like Brewdog's Punk AF IPA. It's more of a citrusy IPA, but so far is the best NA beer I've found (so many are revolting).
I’m with you ladies here. I’m missing alcohol SOOOO badly. I’ve been craving it a lot and it’s all I think about lol. When we go out for dinner and my husband has a beer I ask to smell it 😆 I get sad when I can’t order my cocktails at the restaurant 😩 I miss wine and my coolers etc. With the holidays coming up it makes it especially hard cause I really want a rum and eggnog and or champagne. Ugh, only 6 more months to go 😆🤣
I had a cute little gift bag done up for my friend's birthday. It was a small glittery gift bag with tissue paper. We don't do huge birthday gifts for each other, so I had gotten her one of the "mini" makeup palettes from Sephora.
I left it in our laundry room a week ago, but couldn't find it and searched everywhere for it yesterday before church....
Asked my husband about it. HE THREW IT IN THE TRASH!
I know it was light but WHY would he think he should throw away a gift bag?!?!?!
I am with you ladies about missing the drinks...I dont typically drink a lot or crave alcohol except when I'm pregnant I really miss the wine. I keep seeing all these ads on my social media for alcohol free wine, but not sure if its worth it to buy...Anyone try these?
I’ve had the alcohol free red wine, like someone else mentioned it’s very sweet which isn’t really my taste. I will admit it was nice to have a guilt free glass with everyone else though! I’ll probably buy some for Christmas, it was close enough I guess 🤷♀️
I miss coffee so much. I was a solid 2-3 cups a day gal and I haven't had any basically since I tested positive. Not because of caffeine, although I would certainly cut back, but because I have a total aversion to it and any hot drink. I miss the ritual and coziness of it.

@mrs_massie It can be worth a shot. What I tried was drinkable (I think it was Fre chardonnay?), just wasn't what I wanted. If you like sweeter wines it may be fine, but I like them very dry. I did try adding some bitters, seltzer (to cut the sugar), and a little lemon juice (again, to make less sweet) to sparkling grape or apple juice. I also bought some grapefruit, cranberry, and blood orange sodas to experiment with. I also like ginger beer in general and tend to keep it on hand. Not really the same, but if you layer some flavors it can still taste pretty good, particularly with holiday flavors like ginger and spices.

@wendy838 what is in a Bloody Caesar?
@dogmom5 I am so ready for the nausea to be over. I had morning sickness the whole 9 months with DD so we will see how long my nausea lasts this time.
