Re: TTGP Grad Check-In 11/26

  • Happy belated Thanksgiving!
How far along are you? 13w, 3 d
    Upcoming Appointments? 12/16
Cravings/Symptoms? Occasional nausea and sometimes tires at night. Had some insomnia Monday night when I didn't take unisom.
    How are you doing? Rants/Raves/Randoms?
I was able to eat Thanksgiving dinner and took a unisom to not feel sick yesterday. Managed to get through cooking and the rest of Thanksgiving Day, including a 5K walk, and didn't start to really feel tired until 8:00 p.m. . Hoping this is a sign that things are beginning to improve.

Upcoming Appointments? Dec 7th with my OB and then another U/S on Dec 21st at 15 weeks to check my cervical length in case its too short and needs a cerclage. FX I don't.
Cravings/Symptoms? Cravings have been hit or miss. Still liking pickled things and vinegar. Still peeing 2-3 times a night and I've been having some crazy weird dreams or nightmares lately. Also, my skin is so bad. Been breaking out in a lot of pimples again.
How are you doing? Doing good lately and feeling pretty good. Headaches and nausea are all gone and I have been getting more energy which is great. I hope this keeps up. Makes me nervous though that I feel so good and don’t really feel pregnant at all. Somedays I have to remind myself I’m pregnant cause I forget. I’ll just consider myself lucky I guess.
Rants/Raves/Randoms? Still waiting on my NIPT results to come back. Ugh... this wait is torture. I should hear something back by next Friday. FX its all low risk. If it isn’t, well there’s not much I can do to change that.
Questions? At what point in pregnancy shouldn’t you sleep on your back anymore? I don’t sleep on my side a lot and can’t get comfortable unless I’m on my back, but I’ve heard your not supposed to sleep on your back after a certain point as it causes the uterus to push on the vena cava vein and cut of blood supply to the baby and can cause stillbirth in the 3rd trimester. Is this all true? Worries me.

@DoubleUp8 I’m glad you were able to eat Thanksgiving dinner without feeling sick. Yay! That’s awesome you were able to get in a 5K walk too. I hope things are improving for you too. FX.
  • How far along are you? 13+1
Upcoming Appointments? NT scan on Monday! NIPT results came back clear last week, so I’m mostly just excited for another chance to see bebe :)
Cravings/Symptoms? So I’ve definitely ‘popped’ a little big which feels way earlier than with DS. Weird. And craving white grape juice. It’s so good!
How are you doing? Starting to feel less exhausted/nauseous, though it’s a slow improvement. Also starting the countdown to winter break!
Rants/Raves/Randoms? Got out the Christmas box out yesterday and we’re slowly decorating. I love the holiday season, so I’m super excited! And a total FWP rant, but I’m bummed the maternity leggings I was eyeing didn’t qualify for any Black Friday sales. We’ll see if they go for cyber Monday...
    Questions? NATM

@DoubleUp8 glad you made it through a full thanksgiving! FX that’s a turning point for you!

@mindyb2019 so definitely check with your doc, but I think recommendation is to stop during 2nd/3rd tri’s. With DS, my midwives said you usually roll before it becomes a problem anyway, and I found that the bigger I got the more comfortable side sleeping was anyway.
  • Ahh excited for all of you who are starting to feel better!! Gives me hope!

How far along are you? I think 9+4, but FFFC I can never remember the days exactly (2020 what are days?) and sometimes end up correcting after @akoros posts bc we have the same edd.
Upcoming Appointments? 12/10 OB for NIPT!
Cravings/Symptoms? Did a 180 and just want crispy vegetables and fruit. I puked Thanksgiving morning and raw green beans were what settled my stomach afterwards (wtf??). I feel so exhausted in the afternoons, but so naseous in the mornings so the days are interesting. Having vivid dreams that I am very loud about- shouting in my sleep and talking a lot. Had a few instances of moaning over food in my sleep that woke DH up and I'm like NO NOT YOU MELTED CHOCOLATE.
How are you doing? Rants/Raves/Randoms? Trying so hard not to buy a sneak peek kit today when I'm so close to finding out from NIPT. Done 90% of my Christmas shopping and really excited about the gifts I've picked out for people! I've done it all online this year which feels weird and I feel like it's harder to keep track of what I'm buying.
    Questions? Natm

@DoubleUp8 jealous of your 5k! I'm looking forward to having energy to walk/run again.
@mindyb2019 I think that's usually 2/3 trimester, and like @halfanewt said you'll usually switch by then on your own. I'm a former stomach/back sleeper and a body pillow helped A LOT with making side sleeping tolerable. Oddly I've been a left side sleeper since my pregnancy with DS1, but this pregnancy has me on my right side only.
@halfanewt fx those leggings go on sale! Yay for seeing baby on Monday!
  • How far along are you? 9+6 @_orchid_ I always have to check myself once I see your posts, convinced that I'm wrong!

    Upcoming Appointments? 12/4 for bloodwork

Cravings/Symptoms? Lots of acne, sciatica acting up a little. My mom did some pressure point thing that really helped, though, I hope I can do it on my own now that they've left. Otherwise I feel mostly fine, a little tired but not as bad as before. Oh, and I feel huge. It's probably mostly stuffing and bloat since it's so early, but definitely feel bigger. Time to live in my leggings

How are you doing? Rants/Raves/Randoms? Mostly ok. We told my parents while they were here for Thanksgiving. I couldn't quite decide and it was stressing me out, so my husband decided to make a round of cocktails on Wednesday so that they'd notice I wasn't drinking and it'd come up.

    Questions? none

@mindyb2019 I hear you on nerves, I know I generally don't have very many symptoms (and shouldn't complain!), but it can be nerve-wracking. As far as sleeping position, like others said, I was told that you'll usually roll over when you need to, anyway, as it'll get uncomfortable.

@DoubleUp8 That's great for your 5k! I did manage to take a sort-of long walk (2.5 miles, "long" for me is usually twice that) last week...but only one. Was exhausted from cleaning, prepping, and cooking.
  • @akoros lol nope I'm off! My M-Th daily schedule is exactly the same, which I'm not used to. It's like groundhog day over here. I know our weeks flip on Tuesdays but never know the actual day.

Glad you are starting to feel better! I feel large too, but I think it's all in my head as my bloat has gone way down. Two weeks ago I couldn't button or zip my jeans, but I wore the same exact pair over the weekend with no problem closing them up.
  • @_orchid_ Look at you, being all fancy and wearing real pants! I think I can button some of my jeans, but it's not comfortable, so sticking with the stretchy stuff. It helps that I don't have any reason to not wear stretchy pants, too
  • @mindyb2019 Sorry you are still waiting on your test results. Ugh! waiting for something that big is hard.

@halfanewt OMG, white grape juice sounds amazing right now!

@_orchid_ I wish fresh vegetables appealed. Right now I am forcing myself to choke down veggies.

@akoros Glad you told your family. I hope you can keep the sciatica under control, that bugging you is no fun at all.

  • @akoros only fancy when I leave the house! It's starting to get cold in the NE and my leggings just aren't keeping me warm enough.
@mindyb2019 just checking in with you friend. Any news on the NIPT front? I've been thinking of you!!
  • How far along are you? 12+4
Upcoming Appointments? just had one yesterday.
Cravings/Symptoms? Morning sickness has gotten worse not better. Hoping it starts to fade soon.
How are you doing? Rants/Raves/Randoms? Happy to be past the NIPT and last week of first trimester. Looking forward to more energy to spend time with DD and get moving again!
    Questions? NATM

@mindyb2019 Hope you get your results soon!
  • @_orchid_ aww thanks for thinking of me. No nothing back yet for my NIPT *sigh* this wait is killing me. I should have my results back by this Friday from my Dr. FX. Only a few more days to go. This long wait better be worth good results lol
  • @legallykate I'm sorry you are having such a hard time. I will agree that a pregnancy during a pandemic is a very different experience with added concerns that can weigh you down. I am trying to think of the positives of it being June and warm weather. I had a late October baby in a very cold area, so it was hard to take DS outside. I am trying to focus on how nice it will be to take walks and be outside with the little one.

@ramzlau I hope you start feeling better soon!

  • @DoubleUp8 I'm glad you could have Thanksgiving without feeling too sick! I hope your symptoms keep getting better!!
@mindyb2019 I'm glad your first tri symptoms seem to be going away too, even though it may be nerve-racking at times! Hang in there!!
@halfanewt Holiday decorating is exciting! Glad you're feeling well enough to decorate!!
@_orchid_ Ditto on the weird vivid dreams. Don't know if I talk in my sleep during them and I'm a little scared to ask MH. Congrats on having most of your holiday shopping done!
@akoros Congrats on telling your family. I know that step can be scary. I'm also glad it went well!!
@ramzlau So glad you're past the NIPT waiting phase. I hope your morning sickness gets better soon! It's no fun to deal with.
@legallykate Yay for graduating from the fertility center and I'm wishing you all the luck with your first OB appointment. I'm sorry your feelings have been getting in the way a bit of you being excited about your pregnancy journey but your feelings are completely valid! I'm sending you all the love and support!

How far along are you? 10+3
Upcoming Appointments? (first official) OB appointment on Thursday!
Cravings/Symptoms? My hyperemesis is still kicking my butt. I'm able to keep most carbs down which has been my go-to.
How are you doing? Rants/Raves/Randoms? Infusion appointments are going a lot more smoothly with the PICC line which is great! It's a quicker in and out process and I'm definitely loving getting poked less. I also started practicum today for school and will start to work with clients this semester which is really exciting!! I'm having a bit of a rough time managing my home life with school and being so sick and tired. It's nice to be able to take a bit of a break and have a really understanding community behind me if I need to take a step back for a bit. It hasn't been easy for me coming to terms with what this pregnancy will look like but I'm looking forward to my appointment Thursday and talking to my ObGyn about how we can make this as normal of a pregnancy experience as possible for me.

  • @legallykate I'm just getting in here and want to send you internet hugs! I'm sorry you are having a hard time. I think the ttc mindset is hard to get out of once you've been in it so long. For me, after about 18 months, I still feel like I should be temping and tracking something- this doesn't feel real. I still feel like I have a foot in the ttc world, kwim? I also feel some guilt that I am here, even though I know that's not rational. As for being home in the summer with a nb, I'm just reminding myself that it's one summer. I feel guilty about my kids bc we are usually out and about all the time in the summer and idk how that will go this year after a RCS and a nb.   But June birthdays will be awesome! We are all cold weather bdays in my house so really looking forward to warm weather birthday parties!!
