PGAL Check-in 11/18

This thread is for anyone who has experienced loss at any point in pregnancy or experienced the loss of a child. ((Please feel free to share your loss story if you haven’t already.)) Also a general TW (trigger warning) in that previous losses will likely be discussed in this thread.

How far along are you?

How are you feeling (symptoms, mentally/emotionally)?

Any upcoming appointments?

GTKY: Would you rather have the power of invisibility or flight?

Re: PGAL Check-in 11/18

  • How far along are you? 13+3

How are you feeling (symptoms, mentally/emotionally)? physically okay, emotionally better than i was yesterday after learning i'm a carrier for CF and SMA, but still mentally worrying about that.

Any upcoming appointments? regular checkup next week and followup genetic counseling appointment pending (apparently we have to sit with them again before DH can get his bloodwork, so no immediate answers for us!)

GTKY: Would you rather have the power of invisibility or flight? definitely invisibility.  from a practical standpoint, i can fly in a plane and if i'm flying i'd rather be enclosed in something.  no alternative invisibility option.  less practically, being invisible would have SO many perks!

  • PS @mimser are you just the QUEEN of gtky's or what?? love this and all the ones you come up with!
  • How far along are you? 14 weeks

How are you feeling (symptoms, mentally/emotionally)? I feel like I had a one week break in fatigue, this week it's back, but still a lot better than before. Some days boobs are a bit sore, but most days they feel fine now, just big. I've been in a pretty good place mentally in the last week. I don't know if it's the cerclage bringing me a feeling of security. Every week that passes I feel more confident we'll bring this baby home. Which is good because every week that passes also takes me closer to my last loss milestone. I can't wait to have my appointments next week, I think it will give me even more confidence for the next couple of weeks.

Any upcoming appointments? November 24 - cervical lenght ultrasound / November 26 - high risk OB / January 7 - Anatomy Scan

GTKY: Would you rather have the power of invisibility or flight? Flight! I wouldn't fly at very high altitude, but it'd be practical in the day to day I find!

@asf0613 most if not all of them are inspired/borrowed (stolen?) from other BMBs, but I'm glad you like them!
  • @asf0613 I can imagine it's unsettling to get that news, but hopefully you'll find out the results of your husbands bloodwork and can rest at ease quickly!

@mimser I feel you on the random fatigue and sore boobs.  Thankfully, it's not constant!

  • How far along are you? 16w1d!

How are you feeling (symptoms, mentally/emotionally)? Having some trouble with sleeping. I got a PharMeDoc pillow, which I ♡love, but still dealing with middle-of-the-night stuffiness/headache from the stuffiness/heartburn/gas pains. Glamour, ha. Emotionally, I'm feeling great! Just so grateful to be this far in the pregnancy and continuing to watch things progress "normally"!

Any upcoming appointments? I was supposed to have an OB appt yesterday but two women went into labor so my doc had to reschedule all his appts! I'll see him next Tuesday and my hematologist next Wednesday.

GTKY: Would you rather have the power of invisibility or flight? Definitely flight! Feels like it would be such a nice escape.
