Ages (you and SO): Both 30

How many months have you been TTC?: 1

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: Just having lots of sex. We’ve agreed to leave it at that until we’ve been trying for at least 6 months and then we’ll start jumping into everything else.

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): I’m a college instructor (communication classes) and I’m working entirely from home right now with classes online. Which my dog is loving (she’s a lab-pit mix). I’m a runner. I just did my second half-marathon at the end of August and I’m currently training for a 10K on Thanksgiving. I knit. I play dungeons and dragons. I’m a big fan of true crime podcasts. We just started trying last month and I’m excited to have found this board since we aren’t telling anyone we’re trying so it will be nice to have a place to talk about it!

Ages (you and SO): I am 38, DH is 41

How many months have you been TTC?: ~2 months

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: I take prenatals, folate, fish oil, desiccated beef liver, and ashwagandha to help get my cycles regulated. I have compound heterozygous mthfr and thus a luteal phase defect. I use Kindara for tracking CM, not doing temping or opk for now. We are mostly NTNP, but I'm still timing things as best as I can.

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) I was on TTGP Aug-Nov 2018 and have much love and respect for the women I have met here

. I have 2 kids, 1 dog and 3 chickens. We recently moved back to my hometown and are currently living up in the woods while we house hunt. It's been an exciting and stressful adventure but I'm eager to see where life take us. I am a homemaker and the at home parent and so most of my time is taking care of our wildly disorganized living situation and family but I also enjoy getting out in nature when I can and playing around with learning different arts and crafts.

I'm super curious about your compound heterozygous MHTFR... that means you have a mutation on both genes right? How was that linked to luteal phase defect? I have a mutation on A1298C and also have short (natural) luteal phases / spotting in luteal phase which means LPD, but no one's ever linked my LPD to the MHTFR mutation. I'm currently taking additional 3200mcg of folate (in addition to the 800 that's already in my PNV) to compensate for the "defective" gene. Thanks!

With MTHFR, as it was explained to me by my fertility naturopath (I realize not everyone believes in natural medicine, but this is what I believe), the MTHFR mutation, depending on the kind, can cause issues with methylating things from your bloodstream (re: liver), if your liver is dysfunctioning, then you cannot properly absorb nutrients or filter out medications or bad stuff. If you are not absorbing vitamins and minerals properly, then it can affect your endocrine system (re: hormones), which can then cause issues with low progesterone and such. When I was TTC last time, it was detected I had very low progesterone and testosterone, even after months of nutrition changes. Supposedly by adding certain supplements into your routine and sticking to an anti-acidic/anti-inflammatory diet, it can help with both methylation and rebalancing your hormones, but it's a gradual process. I have some further info about my case but it involves mentioning LC -- I'll hold off on that unless you'd like the info over PM.

Hi everyone! I was sort of active on this board back in August but then fell off. I've been lurking since and feeling pretty alone in this ttc journey so I'm hoping some support from all of you wonderful ladies will help!

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: temping/charting, OPKs

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) We are trying for our first. We haven't really told anyone, and that was ok at first, but now that we've been trying for a little bit I'm feeling a little lonely in this process. Hubby is great, but sometimes you just need someone else to listen, ya know? Hoping to jump on the dailies this week!

Hi everyone! I posted on here a bit back in 2018 when my husband and I first decided to start trying, but life intervened after just a couple months so we stopped trying. Life is leveling out as much as it ever will, so we've decided to actively start trying again.

Ages (you and SO): 33 (me) and 36 (him)

How many months have you been TTC?: this time, this is the first month; tried for 3 or 4 months a couple years ago but not sure if that counts

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: FF - temps, logging cycle and symptoms, going to order LH tests as well and trying to BD as close to ovulation as possible. My cycle is fairly long and irregular, which makes it a bit hard to predict. Also working on losing weight and eating better/being healthier in general (lost 20lb-ish since the summer so far and planning to keep working on weight loss until a BFP)

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) - We have one dog, a 17-lb terrier/chihuahau that we love to bits. I lost my job last year and am currently back in school for a career change, my husband works in journalism. I'm crafty (cross stitch is my big hobby right now) and love learning new things.

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: BBT/charting & OPK (using Mira, I hated trying to judge the darkness of lines). I don't drink or take any medications I won't take while pregnant during the TWW, take prenatals, and quit doing all nighters at work altogether. Does job hunting for a lower stress job count?

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) I'm a lawyer and DH is an entrepreneur. My main hobby used to be traveling, and everything else revolved around travel--scuba, backpacking, hiking--but my job cut it back significantly and now with covid, I feel like I don't have any hobbies anymore! We have two cats and a dog, and I spend about 80% of my time playing with/watching them.

Welcome @nlc_atx! There's nothing wrong with spending 80% of your time playing with your pets! But yeah, I totally hear you: Covid changed everything. Hopefully, though, we'll start to piece back our "old lives" sooner rather than later. In any case, hopefully you'll find the support you need in us as your continue in your TTC journey. How many months have you been TTC?: 1

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: prenatals, timing

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) We’re trying to conceive our third child. We tried for years to have our first. It took two IVF cycles, four embryo transfers, and two miscarriages for us to bring home a baby. Our second child was conceived without medical intervention ~18 months after our first was born. So we’re really not sure what to expect this time around. We have also talked about living as a family of four if we cannot conceive without intervention. I think we both still carry some emotional scars from our infertility journey.

We both work full time. When we have down time we like to spend it with the kids (ages 4 and 2). Within the past few years we lost both our wonderful dogs due to old age. We would love to have another one but we’re waiting for the right timing for our family.

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: I don't do much beyond using a period tracker and timing it that way.

I'm a transmission line designer, just celebrated my 8 year anniversary with the company! My husband is in the surveillance business.
We've got a beautiful little 9 month old and wanted to start TTC so the kids are close in age.
I love all things crafty and love to bake!
