  • @mrosek91 🤣😂🤣

I have already eaten my breakfast and half my lunch and it's not even 10am here. I'm starving...that is all 😂

  • It seems we may be a smaller group I wonder if instead of weekly check ins by week we juat change to a monthly one or maybe first half and second hald check ins? I also lurk alot on the boards and dischssions that do not apply to me since it seems slow overall.
  • I usually go into the office 3 days a week (MWF)but I honestly cannot do it this week so I'm working from home today. I've been extra nauseous for the last week and I'm tired. Blah.

Is anyone doing anything for Thanksgiving this year? We are still TBD on if we are going over to my in-laws' house for dinner. We had planned on it but my SIL and her husband might be going to his family's for lunch that day and it's supposed to be quite a crowd and we aren't comfortable with seeing them after they're there. Just waiting to hear if they are going or not before we decide. Stupid pandemic.
  • @gusgus14 I think we are having my ILs, SIL, and DH's grandma over. it will be small but that is pretty much their entire family so it works well. FWIW, if they did go to that gathering and do catch COVID, it would be extremely unlikely they would be able to transfer it to you or anyone in your family that soon. Unless someone there was actively coughing all over them and they the rubbed all over you, I would think it would be ok. But I do feel you on not being overly comfortable with large groups at this point. I'm terrified about SIL's wedding this weekend...

  • @gusgus14 usually we go to my cousins and its our family hers and her in laws but we all decided this year since she has a 6 month old that its not worth the risk so we each doing our own small thing instead. We are seeing just them the following weekend for a hkme and we plan to tell them we are expecting baby #2 then as well which was part of why we were a ok with the plan.
  • @Liz101015 less check-in may make more sense, since we do seem to be smaller than usual. Anyone else want to weigh in?
I know some BMBs have a spreadsheet to help keep track of who's there, and remember pertinent information about them. Is there any interest in me starting one for us, so we can get a good idea of how many regulars we really have?

@gusgus14 we usually do brunch at my ILs (who live ~20 min away) and then drive up to my parents (4 hours) for the weekend. We're almost definitely not going to my parents, but we're still waiting to hear from my ILs. They really confuse me. Sometimes they act like we're in a bubble together, and sometimes they act like we still have to maintain distance. Whatever, I'm not going to bring it up. If they invite us we'll go.

  • @gusgus14 We normally have a giant Thanksgiving at my mom’s house, that my sister and I do the majority of the cooking. Then my inlaws arrive and we have a giant Mexican Thanksgiving at my house the next day.
This year, neither gathering is happening. It’s just not a good idea. We will all be making our own thanksgiving meals at our own homes. But I’m torn if I should make the American one or the Mexican one. I am half Mexican and my husband is full. Also, I make som killer traditional Mexican food.

  • We are just keeping it to our own family (myself, fiancé and kids). My fiancé is a hypochondriac so you can imagine the year of 2020 has been tough for him (I have learned the polite/PC thing to say is, he has “health anxieties”). I on the other hand and totally laid back, aware and know it’s real but not freaked out. So for both our sanities... me not having to deal with him and him being able to woosah, we stay pretty low key lol.
  • As of right now we don’t plan to see anyone. My side is just my dad & we’re not close anyway, so it feels like an unnecessary risk. If we see my in laws it will be with everyone in masks and we wouldn’t eat together. We all live spread out throughout the state, and covid cases are higher than ever.
  • We are going to my moms, but there will be very few people there. My mil, uncle and aunt, my mom, and us.  I'm feeling fine with that arrangement!

  • RE: weekly versus fewer/larger group check-ins...I like having them by week cause I feel like we're going through a lot of similar things. I do wind up reading through all the other threads (and commenting there if I have something of value), so I don't mind keeping it how it is. People who want to participate in multiple weeks' thread can if they like, no wild rules here.  :)

RE: Thanksgiving - I usually go to NH or Fla. to celebrate with my best friend and her fam or my own family down in Florida. This year it was supposed to be NH, but with the numbers going up in our region, we just feel like it's safer not to go. She and I are both pregnant and both her and her husband are front-line workers (ER nurse and firefighter) who are exposed to covid daily. Even if I wanted to go despite all that, I have my next appointment the Monday after thanksgiving, so i really can't travel out of state without missing that appointment.

We have to get tested within 4 days of coming back from out of state to not have to continue to quarantine, so I think we're keeping to ourselves for the duration.
  • @gusgus14 Please don't let yourself get dehydrated!

  • @texas_t I'm trying! That's my biggest struggle. I have barely been able to drink much of anything so my water intake has been super low. The good news is that I'm not puking (just really severe nausea) so whatever I can drink I'm keeping down but I know I need to be drinking more.
  • @gusgus14 Can you stomach cranberry juice? It's really tart so it can help cut the nausea a bit.

  • @texas_t ehhh I'm basically living off peppermints and ginger drops for the nausea and don't really want to mix those flavors with cranberry juice. The peppermints and ginger drops work, I just have to basically have them at all times.
  • I like the spreadsheet idea too! I also like the weekly check-in and tend to lurk other weeks to so I can start to get to know others as well.

  • @texas_t awesome!! Glad the Doppler is helping!! Yay dopplers!
  • Thanks @mrosek91 for creating the spreadsheet, I find them helpful!

I like the Check-ins the way they are now, I think it's really nice to have a group experiencing pretty much the same thing.
  • Does anyone have a good brand of maternity jeans they like?? I've been searching for over a week now and haven't found anything good! Non-pregnant, I typically wear mid-rise, dark wash skinny jeans, no frays or holes. My regular jeans are starting to feel uncomfortable, even with wearing the bellaband.
  • @ruby0902 I really like the ones I got from Madewell so far. They’re over bump ones but are looser fit mom-jean style (no rips). I have some skinny fit ones coming from H&M but they do have fraying on them.

I have my eye on the “jeggings” from Spanx. They’re $$ but I’ve heard raves and they sound closer to what you wear normally.
  • @mimser So glad you got good results!
@spartan4life I woke up 94 million times last night, so I feel ya. Also, I can't believe you sleep in pants!

  • @texas_t I live in Michigan so even with the heat on, the house is still colder at night than I prefer. But I will no longer be sleeping in pants after last night!

  • @spartan4life my first thought was, is she traveling somewhere, and didn't pack maternity pjs? And then I remembered that you're an essential worker, and some people actually still leave their houses for work. I won't tell you how long it took me to remember that, I'll blame pregnancy brain.
  • @ec1212 same 😂 I get so lost in it some days!

  • @littlelibelula Agree & exactly!! Lol!!
  • Agree, I find the forums on all of the other apps really concerning 😂😂

Has anyone found good maternity joggers? Like ones that are comfy but also acceptable to wear out? I ordered some from Old Navy and they’re the weirdest things I ever seen, like yoga pant material and supposed I be “7/8 length”, I’m tall but they are literally capris on me.
