  • @jen622 I hope this has a positive resolution soon! Thinking of you <3
  • @jenn622-2 I'm so glad to hear baby is okay but sorry about the modified bedrest. I was on modified bedrest (10lb lifting restriction and no working out, even chaturanga in yoga) from 9-21 weeks last pregnancy. It wouldn't have been so bad except that having a toddler over 10lbs is kind of impossible with these restrictions (she was under 1 1/2yo). I think your child is a bit older mine so hopefully it's not too inconvenient. Other than that, it was mostly the mental toll. Feel free to vent to us or talk about it anytime. I've been there (although we knew it was an SCH for mine). Lots of hugs.

  • @jenn622-2 I’m so glad to hear that everything is fine with your baby! ❤️ I’m sorry for the stress and that you have to do modified bed rest. Hopefully everything calms down for you ASAP. Take care of yourself!
  • @jenn622-2, are you on baby aspirin? It makes you more likely to spot after EVERYTHING. Sneeze, bleed. Puke, bleed. Poo, bleed. Sex, bleed.
  • @aisukurimsarang I am on aspirin. I stopped taking it Thursday when I noticed the bleeding and my Dr said to lay off it for a few days. I did have several bleeding episodes prior to starting the aspirin so I don’t think it’s solely to blame but I’m sure it doesn’t help!!
  • @jenn622-2, I had a few prior to starting the aspirin that stopped right at 8w. Then, a week after starting it (12w) and the MFM putting me on a double dose, it started again. As soon as I dropped the 2nd dose, it stopped and hasn't been back since. It's SOOOOOO scary, tho. I hate it! I have to keep reminding myself the studies with PreE and Apsirin are worth it.
  • @jenn622-2 I’m so sorry for the scare, I’m glad the ultrasound went well! I hope modified bed rest helps.
  • So glad it went well @jenn622-2! Great news!
  • Glad baby is healthy!! @jenn622-2
  • @aisukurimsarang I am also on a double dose. Maybe I will ask my dr about taking one 81mg instead of 2 for a bit but I’m also terrified of preeclampsia again so it’s a tough call!!

Thanks all for the support 💜
  • @jenn622-2 so glad everything is ok.
    Pregnancy Ticker

  • Thanks @pelorunningmama

I had a follow up appointment yesterday with my MFM and everything is still looking good but my cervix is a bit short so they are starting me on progesterone. Has anyone been on it before?

  • @jenn622-2, I was suppositories during my 3rd pregnancy. And, my BFF had progesterone shots from 16w on with her last. It, Ummmm, makes you very, ummm, short tempered.
  • @jenn622-2 I was on progesterone the first 12 weeks, both a shot and suppository. I bled a little at 8 weeks and my doctor said bleeding can reduce the absorption so from there on she wanted me to take it by mouth. She warned me it can cause nausea when taken orally so take it right before bed but even with my sleeping problems luckily it didn’t make my nausea any worse.
I second what @aisukurimsarang said. Pregnancy makes me miserable and cranky but it was way worse when I was on the progesterone. It made my skin really clear though!
  • @aisukurimsarang how long did you have to take the progesterone for? Did you end up delivering early?

@forevertired so far I don’t think I have any side effects - hard to tell if I’m extra cranky because my emotions are all over the place already, ha!

Now they think I may need a cervical stitch cuz my cervix looks a mm shorter than last week 😫 hopefully the progesterone starts to work!
  • @jenn622-2, My body wasn't producing enough progesterone, so I only needed to be on it until the placenta could take over. But, my BFF has a history of preterm labor. Her first two were at 36w. After her third child came at 34w3d, she was put on progesterone shots for her 4th pregnancy. She ended up delivering at a healthy, safe 38w2d. That is her only pregnancy she carried to term. But, man was she a FEMALE DOG!

(side note, neither of us tolerates progesterone birth control without the crankiness, either. She's on Mirena, and I did minipills.)

My body wasn't producing enough progesterone for a reason. Progesterone in THAT situation only delayed the inevitable and led to weeks of an emotional Rollercoaster of limbo. Your situation is much, much different and progesterone has good results in preventing preterm labor. 😊
