  • Our first ultrasound is November 19. Always a little anxious I suppose, but I probably will be anxious at least until after the 20 week anatomy scan.
  • 12 week appointment is scheduled for Nov 12.  Get to do bloodwork and find out sex of baby.  So excited!

  • @mindyb2019 good luck with your US!! Can't wait to see pictures

  • @ruemcclanahan thanks girl. Me too. Cant wait post some pictures 😊
  • I have an apt with my PCP on Friday in person. I’m nervous because I’ll only be 10+2. I imagine she will try to find a HB with the Doppler but the likelihood of finding it will be slim and that just makes me nervous.
Then I have to wait until I’m 12 weeks for an ultrasound which is going to seem forever if she can’t find something on Friday.
  • I have my first appointment on 11/9. I’ll be 6+5. I’ll get to schedule my first u/s so I’m excited about that. Can’t wait to finally see baby!

  • I have tv us tomorrow. As soon as I am done with that I have my first OB visit and a pap smear. I’m excited because my H is supposed to go with me. He didn’t get to attend any appointments with our first due to work so I’m excited for him to see the baby and hear the heartbeat.
  • Wow it sounds like a lot of us are heading to the doctor tomorrow! I have my 8 week US appointment tomorrow since we found out I was a tad off on my calculations when I showed up only 5 weeks 6 days pregnant at my last one haha.  So I’m really anxious to see how things have progressed and that the heartbeat is still going strong!

Poll Q for the group - I live in Illinois and our COVID restrictions are ramping up again (rightly so!) As a result, my hubby can’t come to the appointments for the foreseeable future. So I planned to ask my doctor tomorrow if it would be okay to take a short video of the ultrasound and heartbeat as she’s pointing out all the good stuff so I can show him later. I want him to feel involved, and there’s only so much I can reiterate from  the grainy photo of an ultrasound. Anyone else doing appointments solo? Is it crazy to sneak a video?!
  • @ashleyjillian15 I went to my appointment solo as well and my Dr told me I couldn't record, but could FaceTime. I gave MH a heads up when I was called back to the room so he'd be ready.

Good luck to everyone with appointments tomorrow! I'm going in too and hoping to have a better us than last week's (too early)
  • My doctors office is letting my husband go to the first visit (which is this Friday and I’ll get a TV ultrasound) but then that’s it until the anatomy scan. It’s such a bummer. He went to every appointment with me when I was pregnant with our son.
  • We are on the downswing side of Covid right now In my area so for now MH is allowed to attend ultrasounds only.  Not regular appointments though.

I’m getting my NIPT drawn this Thursday!  I’m crazy nervous about the wait to get results.  Like the TWW on steroids lol.  For those that have done Natera before, do you remember how long it took to get results back?
  • @sgrn18 I did Natera with my son back in 2017 and it took exactly one week to get my results!

  • @sgrn18 I did it in 2019 and got the results in like a week and a half
  • So excited for everyone with appointments today!

My first appointment isn’t until 11/16. I’ll be just over 8 weeks.
  • GL to everyone with appointments today.  I'm looking forward to seeing lots of good updates.

My next appointment is 11/9 (lots of us going next Monday).  I'm so anxious for it to get here.  All my symptoms are strong right now and certainly feel pregnant but I need to see a strong hb.

*TW* last year I had a loss and the first sign of problems was a very low hb at my 7w appointment.  I just can't re-live that.  H can't come with me so if something goes wrong I'll be alone.  I'm really nervous but feel so strongly that this baby is healthy.

  • GL to everyone today!

@ashleyjillian15 I know here they aren’t allowing video but they are allowing FaceTime. I would talk to your tech, I’m sure there’s something they can work out. You won’t be the only one.

  • @ashleyjillian15 my doctor's office is allowing video calling but no recording. No one is allowed to attend any of my appointments with me.

@sgrn18 my doctor said 5-7 days for the Panorama test results when I have my blood draw on 11/16. Hoping to have the results before Thanksgiving!

  • @ashleyjillian15 my clinic also only allows him in for the first appointment and they do not allow recording.  I’m hoping that as more time passes he will be able to come down the road but we also have tightening COVID restrictions where I live so I’m not super hopeful on that one.

Good luck to everyone on your appointments!  Can’t wait to see more ultrasound pics!
  • @laurad75 I think @akoros offers some great advice. Having YH close by and in the car on the way there might help you too. I always am very verbal about my anxiety and being pgal with the drs and nurses as soon as they walk into the room, which helps my anxiety bc it takes away the anxiety I have about whether or not they might make an insensitive comment. So many layers of anxiety!
  • @_orchid_ - So glad you had a good first appointment!

@jaztastic - Graduation day is awesome! Glad the twins are looking good!
  • @_orchid_ Yay for a good appointment today! And a beating heart!

GL to everyone with appointments today!

Nov 12th is my next one. We will do NIPT then along with TV ultrasound (3rd one).
  • @ashleyjillian15 yeah they’re billing is so confusing. I chose to NOT go through insurance and pay the cash price of $249 (you select on the form). It’s up to you whether you want it credited towards your deductible on your insurance.
  • @_orchid_ such great news!!

First appointment is November 3 for u/s and with NP. Nervous as I hope to hear the hb and see the little gummy bear. Fortunately, MH is allowed to come with me. Although, I'm not sure if he is allowed for any others. Will need to double check.
  • @mc0303 I think I’m going to follow in your footsteps and do the same! Thank you for the info, I was skeptical that the cash price could be cheaper than the insurance, but it sounds like so much less of a hassle.

@ruemcclanahan glad everything went well and hope the zofran makes you feel better!
  • @_orchid_ @akoros Thank you for the suggestion and it is a good idea.  I would need to make arrangements for DS to be picked up from school at 11:30 in case we aren't home on time so I need to think about it.

  • Super happy to see so many good appts today!

I think I’m gonna skip the American NIPT this time and just do the dutch one as it’s a significant cost difference and we want to be on team green this time.

    *Live, Love, Laugh, Learn*

  • @AKuzReve
what does that mean? American NIPT vs Dutch one?

All of my NIPT have been to test for chromosomal concerns, sex is a bonus detail but not the reason, and thus has always been covered 100% by insurance. Ive never had a out of pocket cost associated.

  • @ashleyjillian15 Sometimes the companies that do NIPT testing also have "Compassionate Care Discounts based on household size and income level. Natera's: https://www.natera.com/womens-health/pricing-billing
It can give you a discount on the cash price if you qualify. I also believe the household size includes the baby you are pregnant with. Worth investigating!
