  • How far along are you? 5+2

    How big is baby? Lentil

How many other kids? 1 and a fur baby
Ages? 2.5 (turning 3 in Feb, she is counting down the days to her birthday already), fur baby is 3

Rants/Raves: She watched Daniel Tigers Big Brother short and we told her about the baby. So now when we play doctor she says my tummy hurts because it has a baby in it. We went out with friends for a picnic the other day, just 5 min after we left she said she had a baby in her tummy, at least she didn’t announce it at the picnic lol.

    Questions: NATM

GTKY: how long does it take you to get ready in the morning?  Well I am still WFH since Covid, so these days 5 min. But in a normal world or when we are going out about 40 min from wake up to out the door. With toddler tantrums, closer to an hour now. I remember when DD was born I was amazed at the moms in my bump month who got multiple kids out the door in time for school. It would take me 2 hours to get just her and me out the door and then of course it was time to feed her again. Curious how it goes this time around.

    Rants/Raves: none

    Questions: none

GTKY: how long does it take you to get ready in the morning? I can get ready in 20 minutes, but I usually take about an hour, including getting DD ready. I like to move slow in the morning and not be rushed. When she wakes up we try to cuddle a little and read a few books before getting dressed for the day.
  • How far along? 3 + 6

How big is baby? Head of a pin

How many other kids? 2 (3.5 and 1.5)

GTKY? I get up early to work out so I try to get up at 6 or 6:30 and to be out of the bedroom for breakfast by 7 but sometimes I’m late. DH makes breakfast so I’m just shooting to sit down with everyone. I’m a low maintenance SAHM so “getting ready” doesn’t involve a lot.

How big is baby? poppyseed (I think, small as shit is a better description)

    How many other kids? 2
    Ages? 5.5 & 2

    Rants/Raves/Questions:
My biggest struggle right now is keeping the other kids from hurting me. Because Im still taking fertility meds (injections) Im already sore. Then add pregnancy pinches and cramps and Im a hot mess. The kids still think Im their personal jungle gym, especially the 2yr old who is 34lbs. Im trying to take it easy and follow doctors orders about weight lifting restrictions but its hard explaining to the kids that mommy is off limits.

I just want to sit and bake this baby without the extra pressure of momming the other two. Does that sound horrible?

GTKY: how long does it take you to get ready in the morning?
This is a trick question. It doesnt tak me long to get ready. I dont do a lot of primping... so i can usually get ready within 20 minutes. The question is, how long does it take me to roll out of bed. Thats the problem, i can wake up and legit take 90 minutes to get going. Ill even go release my morning pee, and then get back in the bed to stall all over again.

How big is baby? Tomorrow it’ll be the size of a blueberry

    How many other kids? 1
    Ages? 2.5

Rants/Raves: I had to tell my job about being pregnant because I can’t take care of infectious patients.  Well now my coworkers are asking all sorts of questions and I’m the source of some gossip.  Mainly because I just came off a travel assignment to care for those exact patients and now all the sudden I can’t.  Obviously it’s because I’m pregnant but people never mind their own business.   I never shared my pregnancy, even with work, until 12+ weeks the first time but I wasn’t working bedside during that one. Overall I’m annoyed.

    Questions: none for now.

GTKY: how long does it take you to get ready in the morning? @jaztastic same!! I can get ready really quick if it’s just me, but that snooze button and I have a really close relationship.
  • @jaztastic I think it is, just sans the plus sign.

@Omie_Wise our kiddos are similar age! I say 3.5 and 1.5, but they’re probably 3.75 and 1.75... I just say half until they reach the next year. I don’t keep track of months hah.

How far along are you? 5w3d

    How big is baby? Appleseed

How many other kids? 2 (3.5 and 1.5...ish)

Rants/Raves: no rants for me this week! 😅

    Questions: NATM

GTKY: 5 mins? I shower at night, so I really just throw on clothes and brush my teeth. It was the same when I went into the office, working from home is no different (just the clothes I throw on). I also have a personal uniform, so I don’t really have to make decisions about what to wear because I just don’t have the mental energy for that.

Getting the kids ready? That takes an eternity.

  • @jaztastic it is, I just forgot the + I edited the title to include it.
  • Sorry for the double post!

@sgrn18 that stinks people are gossiping about you now. Thank you for traveling to work with these patients prepregnancy! I wonder what kind of fabulous stories they are coming up with for why you are no longer taking isolation precaution patients.
  • @jaztastic You are in the right place!
  • @pickle-chips Im losing my shit... its Monday and my brain is not up yet.

  • @klj0228 they better make the stories good! 😂 I knew once I had to tell the charge nurses it was going to spread like wildfire.
  • @jaztastic one of my friends still uses months, say 45 months, for example. And I’m like IDK! Are they starting university in the fall? How old is that?! I’m still trying to calculate what age that is...it speaks more to my lack of aptitude for maths, but c’mon. Just use years!
  • The number one hardest part of working out in the morning is getting out of bed. My ideal is to roll around and sleepily look at my phone for least 30 minutes before I get up but I’m a better person if I do at least a 15 minute video.

And I totally agree about the half ages. My 1.5 year old is actually 1year 8 months but the 3 year olds’s half birthday is this week! I had to check those in an app, though, I didn’t know that off the top of my head :D I need to figure out what I’m going to make for that. I make a half of a cake and we sing a half version of happy birthday. It’s very silly.

  • @sgrn18  Ugh I hate that. People are so NOSEY!  Just for that you have my permission to double snooze tomorrow.

@klj0228 and @ramzlau thanks for helping keep me straight. I thought I was lost for a second.

@pickle-chips Im cackling!!  :D:D  After they turn 2 please stop using months people.

How many other kids? 2 daughters
    Ages? 2.5 and 4

Rants/Raves: Morning sickness kicked in so bad and I'm really struggling. I'm still trying to work full time from home, take care of my kids by myself, and home school the oldest. I'm so nauseous and tired that I can barely make it through the day. I feel like I'm not doing well enough at work because of it. It lasted until 12 weeks of my first pregnancy and then 20 weeks of my second. I'm already nervous for this one.

Questions: No. Unless someone can give me the miracle cure of morning sickness other than the many things I'm already doing for it.

GTKY: how long does it take you to get ready in the morning? Pre-COVID an hour. Post-COVID 5 minutes. I don't even wear makeup for zoom work meetings anymore. I just brush my teeth, throw my hair in a bun, and make sure I'm wearing a nice shirt and I'm good to go.
  • @JournoGrl23 Solidarity sister! DS has home school (virtual learning) and I WFH and have been dealing with morning sickness for 2wks now. Mine is worst between the hours of 3am-10am, so like prime sleeping/get everyone up and going for the day hours. Its no fun at all!

My last pregnancy, similar to you I had through 2nd tri. I was prescirbed Diclegis then and it worked really well but its timed release so if you dont take it on schedule it does nothing for sudden onsets.
Last week, my nurse at the RE office recommended taking Unisom Naturals with a B6 supplement, and its been helping me out so far.

  • Yes, unisom and B6 can help. My last pregnancy I had Diclegis, then Zofran and finally phenergan. I used the diclegis daily and the zofran was my first stop for quick release and if that didn’t work I used the phenergan. It doesn’t have enough research in pregnant women so I tried to use I sparingly, but definitely still used it frequently.

Ages? almost 4 and 21 months

Rants/Raves: the nausea is in full swing and I’m so exhausted. My mom took the kids Friday night for us to go to a wedding and she was calling me by 10 wondering when I was coming to get them. Super irritating.

    Questions: nothing for now!

GTKY: how long does it take you to get ready in the morning? About 5 minutes but I’m also still working from home so it’s a quick pony, brush my teeth and put on my yoga pants.
  • @kristah2 Yoga pants are life right now! @JournoGrl23 I ended up doing Zofran my entire pregnancy last time from 8-37 weeks. It was the only thing that helped. This time staying cold and not letting myself get hungry has worked, but still super early, so I doubt it will continue the trend for long. @jaztastic and @pickle-chips Agree with the years not months! It’s mainly because it is hard to keep track of too! @Omie_Wise Do you have a favorite app for working out? @jaztastic It is so hard not to lift. I had back surgery a few months ago and couldn’t lift DD for about 4 months. Or wrestle or be the jungle gym. She has adjusted, but I feel like I missed out some.

    Rants/Raves:
I’m so exhausted all the time these days.  And it doesn’t help that this is the busiest time of the year for my husband’s work so he’s not been home as much.  I wish my work day had a built in naptime. 😴

    Questions:
Is anyone else avoiding the morning sickness so far?  That was the strongest symptom I remember from my first pregnancy and although I’m glad I haven’t had to deal with it yet, I can’t help but wonder where it is and when it’s going to hit me!

GTKY: how long does it take you to get ready in the morning?
I work from home, so counting the shower time probably 20ish min.
  • How far along are you? 6w 5d

How big is baby? sweet pea, almost a blueberry

How many other kids?Ages? DS is almost 6

Rants/Raves: Can't wait for my first appointment on the 19th (8 weeks using my LMP not my O date. I used OPKs and Temped, so I am fairly confident in the O day.). Boobs are so sore, just brushing against them makes them hurt. Hoping that improves soon!

    Questions: NATM

GTKY: how long does it take you to get ready in the morning? 25 minutes, if I am doing the full show, dress, hair, minor make up (to hide the bags under my eyes) with DS it is about 1 hour 15 from the moment he wakes me to when we are walking out the door.

Rants/Raves: I used an OB with my first, but decided to use. Midwife for this pregnancy. I. A little annoyed at how slow things are with this new process.  With my OB they wanted me the day I turned 6 weeks to confirm the pregnancy was viable ( there was a bit of scare with my first - it was too early and they couldn’t see anything at that first appointment). With the midwife they won’t do an ultrasound until 8 weeks. They don’t do them In office so I’ll have to schedule at a clinic. I’m going for a home birth this time around, which I’m looking forward to, but I just want to make sure everything is okay....

Questions: is anyone still nursing and planning to nurse through their pregnancy? I’m still nursing my 3 year old (don’t @ me lol) and feeling like my milk is already drying out. Also it’s super painful. If you’re still nursing how is this going for you?

GTKY: how long does it take you to get ready in the morning? 45 - 1 hour. Depends on how I do my hair. That’s shower, getting dressed, make up and hair. Assuming you’re asking for a special outing.  Day to day it’s about 15-20 mins
    \

  • @btate01 I am not experiencing morning sickness yet. With my first I remember it being one of my first and strongest symptoms that lasted until 13 weeks. This time around, I have not even a wif. So strange.

GTKY: how long does it take you to get ready in the morning? Ughhhhh like 30-40 mins. If I didnt have to dress little man while he was sleeping or take the dogs out it would take me like 15, but DH is on a different shift so hes still sleeping when I have to leave
  • @btate01 yessss I was so worried on Sunday cuz with little man I was dry heaving before my positive, this time around it was 3 days and nothing but right that it hit
  • @pickle-chips lolololol!! “Are they starting university in the fall?” I’m dying - nearly spit out my coffee. 🤣 thanks for the laugh!! Made me have to do a calculation, my oldest son is 106 months...I’m going to go around saying that now. 😂😂😂🤪

Not really either, but a large family story... about a month or so ago we were thisclose to getting a Subaru Outback, figuring our oldest was in a booster and our middle was almost out of her high back so it would work for a family of 5. Phew! So glad we waited on that one. Ascent here we come!

    Questions:

One of my midwife friends told me 3rd pregnancies were the hardest, it’s like a “thing” and my 3rd was rough... any other 4+ around to vouch for that?

GTKY: how long does it take you to get ready in the morning?

I am very blessed to have a job that I don’t have to be at at a certain time, so our mornings stretch out... my kids are in distance learning and I usually get them set up, breakfast, etc and enjoy a cup of coffee while my youngest watches her morning show. Honestly , my routine right now is around 2 hours, but in normal days I am up and out in 15!

  • @emwj10187 I am still nursing my 18 month old. I was nursing my now 3 year old when I got pregnant with the 18 month old and it dried up and he stopped nursing. I am going back and forth on stopping. On one hand, I don’t love breastfeeding and I would love a break from it. On the other, it’s not really bothering me yet and despite not enjoying breastfeeding I weirdly love tandem nursing. The 3 yo started breastfeeding a little once his brother arrived, he just stopped for good probably 6 months ago. So I wouldn’t hate it if the 18 month olds was still nursing when the baby arrived? I am going to play it by ear.

@emwj10187 - I tandem nursed my first 3 kiddos... not at the same time, I was pregnant and/or nursing for about 9 years straight. My 3.5 year old just weaned a few months ago and I am like, dang! I could've kept my streak! Your milk supply will likely drop for a bit, but my kiddos didn't mind, nursing sessions at that point were already short. The older two both *almost* weaned before my colostrum came in and then it was game on again! I think tandem nursing makes nursing a newborn easier, I had very little sensitivity when 2 and 3 were born compared to 1. It was just different, newborn mouths are much different than toddlers'! Don't overthink it is my best advice. Your body figures it all out without you having to do hardly any brainwork. Our breasts are amazing! LOL

  • @emwj10187 Oh Im gonna @ you lol...j/k your body your kid, do you boo. Im often amazed and intrigued by prolonged nursing. Im admittedly more selfish. Once my period came back and the kids start biting, its a wrap. I am fortunate (unfortunate in some aspects) to over produce, so I end up with a massive freeze stash that supports LO for many months (or almost a full year as in the case with my first) stop breast feeding.

Im curious, did you have a cut off timeline in mind or were you just waiting for LO to self ween?

@ramzlau I was also amazed at how long it took to get a baby out of the house. Even now, it is takes forever I feel like.

@jaztastic I do that too, I am so bad about getting out of bed in the morning.

@sgrn18 What kind of nursing to you do? Are you traveling right now? I am an OR nurse, I already had to tell my nurse managers because there are certain surgeries that I can be in when pregnant (cement used for total knees is said to be toxic to a fetus).

  • @MelissaMay82 I do adult ICU mixed specialties. I was traveling with FEMA on and off but came home for good shortly after I found out I was pregnant.  I ovulated a touch early this time, a day or two before I left again.  I had to tell my charge nurses and manager since some patients I cannot be in contact with.
  • @sgrn18 a while ago (before DD) I was considering traveling but never did it. It is so annoying to have to tell work so early and then everyone finds out so quickly. In the OR it becomes pretty apparent quickly that I’m pregnant because I don’t go into any rooms with cement being used and I step away if anesthesia is using gases (sevo) during intubation.

  • @Omie_Wise yeah I don’t really see my 3yo weaning anytime soon. Although nursing sessions are much shorter recently and if I tell her I can’t, she just snuggles. So maybe she will who knows. I have days where I’m so over it I want to be done forever and days that I wish she’d nurse forever lol but It’s so uncomfortable Right now, I wouldn’t mind a break before the new babe. My nipples are so sensitive, the shower water hurts!

@disgruntled_pelican im actually looking forward to some tandem nursing. I just gotta get through this tender boobs stage 😣

@jaztastic that’s so awesome that you had over supply. I was not blessed and nursed on demand for what felt like forever. my kid wouldn’t take a bottle. It was rough but got through it. We did baby lead weaning when introducing solids with my first, so still sticking with the self weaning philosophy associated with that. I actually really love nursing my toddler. It’s gotten us though some really rough patches with her. I like to joke that I parent via boob 😂
