Re: All Due Date Check-in 9/27

  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 15 Weeks

    FTM/STM/STM+: Third time

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Finding out - hopefully in two weeks!!

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: A navel orange

Upcoming appointments: 16 week appointment on 10/8

How are you feeling?: Nausea and food aversions have improved but are still much stronger than they were with my first two pregnancies. I think reflux may be the death of me this pregnancy.

Rants/Raves: Rave - loving intermittently feeling baby flutters! Rant - I never imagined just how terrible reflux can get. I had it with my first two but never this bad. Prilosec and tums aren't touching it.

Questions: Besides almond milk, papaya enzymes and Pepcid, are their any effective remedies for reflux that I should be aware of??

GTKY: Do you prefer working from home or actually going into the office? Home, for sure! I started working from home in March and had some hesitations but I love it. I'm so hopeful they won't send me back at all!

How are you feeling?: tired from work but really pretty good

Rants/Raves: I'm feeling baby move now on the inside! Mostly happening right after I drink my one cup of coffee in the morning lol

    Questions: --

GTKY: Do you prefer working from home or actually going into the office?
We worked from home for about 3 months and I hated it. Too many tech issues etc. I much prefer going into the office and keeping my work-life and home-life separate.
    DD1 - 2010 TTC v2.0
  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: March 14, 16+1

    FTM/STM/STM+: STM - DS is 3

    Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Team blue!

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Avocado or a dill pickle

Upcoming appointments: Next OB appt 10/6

How are you feeling?: Ok. My acid is mostly under control now, and I feel like my energy is coming back..maybe.

Rants/Raves: Not really a rant or a rave but I felt DS move in my 15th week last pregnancy, so I was hoping to feel #2 last week but nothing. Boo. I hope I get those flutters sooooon.

    Questions:

GTKY: Do you prefer working from home or actually going into the office? WFH 100%. My personality type probably NEEDS to go into the office once in a while bc I get so lazy and almost tooo comfortable at home. Even before covid, my last job I worked from home 2-3 times a week, with some stretches of a month or so, and I loved it then, too. I'm still in disbelief that I'll likely go this entire pregnancy without seeing my coworkers bc rumor has it that we won't be returning to the office, even on a staggered schedule until March.

    FTM/STM/STM+: STM (DS Is 4)

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Doc said most likely pink from my last scan!

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: lemon, peach, duckling, brownie

Upcoming appointments: ultrasound at 17 weeks

How are you feeling?: sometimes I feel pretty good and then the fatigue hits me like a ton of bricks. Way too much gas.

Rants/Raves: Doctor only reaches out if NIPT results are positive. Haven’t heard anything...yet. These waiting games make me anxious.

    Questions:

GTKY: Do you prefer working from home or actually going into the office? Working from home as a teacher is not ideal, especially if you’ve got your own children to take care of. Last year’s cohort of children really missed out and I can see the gaps. Children love being at school.

  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 13+6

    FTM/STM/STM+: FTM

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Team Pink x2!

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: as of tomorrow, two navel oranges.

Upcoming appointments: I have to schedule my 19 week scan/appointment

How are you feeling?: I tried to attempt to go without unisom over the weekend, which was not ideal. My queasiness came roaring back. Guess I'm back on it for a little while more!

Rants/Raves:  Work is massively busy right now, which is just a lot haha. I had a very light summer and things are all heating back up now! On the flip side, it makes the time go by a lot faster, so I guess that's ok? Haha!

    Questions: Nope

GTKY: Do you prefer working from home or actually going into the office? I worked from home for several years, and then got a new job that was 100% in the office. I overall prefer going into the office. It focuses me and I like seeing people and doing things. I get wayyyyyy too comfy at home, and not leaving the house does not do good things for me. That being said, I'm grateful that I get to take it easy at home during this pregnancy, but I do hope we have a vaccine before I give birth!

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Blue according to Sneak Peek... Confirming Monday lol. I worry I've been sabotaged by my male cat. :|

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Mixed tape.

Upcoming appointments: Oct 5th. Can't wait.

How are you feeling?: I'm feeling really good. Occasionally gagging still haha, but no nausea! Newest thing I'm dealing with is discomfort from stretching I'm assuming.

Rants/Raves: I'm feeling more and more excited to have my little one. I can't believe in 5 weeks I'm already halfway! Soooo crazy time is flying!!

Questions: Is it too soon to start thinking about ordering a breast pump? How long is the process going through insurance?

GTKY: Do you prefer working from home or actually going into the office? Honestly, I've never worked from home, so I'm not sure how I feel about it. Once I have my little one my SO wants me to be a sahm for at least 2 years. I'm used to staying busy and working long hours, so we'll see but I have a feeling I'll work from home. lol
  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 17+1 - March 7th

    FTM/STM/STM+: STM

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: finding out in hopefully 2 weeks!

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a baby hedgehog

Upcoming appointments: 2nd ever midwife appointment on Oct 13th then should hopefully be booking my anatomy scan for the next day (or as soon as I can get in haha)

How are you feeling?: the terrible sleep due to hip pain has started! Overall I’ve been quite good though. I had some cramping last night and this morning which freaked me out a bit but I think it was mostly dehydration related as it’s gotten better and everything else seems fine.

Rants/Raves: not having any appointments since around 8 weeks is getting to me...I wanted someone to listen to the heartbeat and tell me it’s ok! I came close to getting a Doppler but decided against it as I’d definitely obsess.

    Questions: nope

GTKY: Do you prefer working from home or actually going into the office? In non-COVID times I’d say 2-3 days a week in office and the others at home. Right now, definitely home. I miss the socialization aspect but it’s so much easier, more productive, and less anxiety provoking to work from home!
  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 16+1, 3/15

    FTM/STM/STM+: STM DS is 4

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: team pink 🎀

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: avocado, dill pickle, CD

Upcoming appointments: tomorrow at regular OB, guessing an ultrasound or Doppler

How are you feeling?: good. Heartburn but I’ve been taking Pepcid every morning and that prevents it.

Rants/Raves: rave is feeling the baby move often now so that’s reassuring for PGAL brain. Rant: work in the operating room has me standing for 8 hours so my feet are killing me. So. bad.

    Questions:

GTKY: Do you prefer working from home or actually going into the office? I think working from home is great, but I’m so introverted and a homebody that I NEED to work outside the house or else I don’t leave or speak to people. So despite standing all day at work, I like getting out to interact with colleagues.

    Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: green

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a lightbulb?

Upcoming appointments: prenatal check up on Oct. 1

How are you feeling?: last week was absolutely terrible. I slept like crap last night, but didn't feel too bad at work today. I think I need to really focus on taking time for stretching and light pilates at night so my neck and shoulders don't get crazy tight again.

Rants/Raves: I am still waiting for this magical second trimester energy to kick in. I'm super busy at work, so I could really use it right now.

    Questions:

GTKY: Do you prefer working from home or actually going into the office? I don't mind working from home, but it would not be good for me long term. Now with my current job, I can't really work from home anyway.
  • @finnflan I should’ve gotten rid of the doppler I had. Last pregnancy I was obsessed despite having frequent scans. It is reassuring but I wouldn’t know how to deal with not being able to find a heartbeat.

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Finding out as soon as baby stops crossing legs during ultrasounds.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Pomegranate

Upcoming appointments: Oct 6 for anatomy scan

How are you feeling?: Today - it's 645AM, I'm awake because I rolled wrong and my hips started screaming, I'm covered in mosquito bites because I DARED to step outside to supervise my husband transferring plants from one garden to another before it starts really raining this week (which we need) and I'm unable to get comfortable due to both of the previous issues.

Rants/Raves: Already ranted in a separate post. Rave - looking for any positive with my current attitude this morning so last night I found my fall/winter lotions I bought on clearance earlier this year and I woke up smelling like a gingerbread cookie!

    Questions:

GTKY: Do you prefer working from home or actually going into the office? The only aspect I miss about going into the office is people checking in on me and saying hi. Being at home, very few people check in. Otherwise it's quieter at home, I'm surrounded by my stress relief animals, and I have unlimited access to snacks when the baby makes me hungry (every 2 hours). I'd stay home if work would let me.
  • @redselig i reallt feel for all teachers right now, but especially the ones who have children of their own. I dont know what school looks like where you are, but here its been a shitshow .

@mvt2003 you're  brave to attempt to go med free! Sorry it didnt work out for you though.

@jfcmomoftwo my son was WILD in utero and he came out wild as can be

@duhduhduck add me to team "waiting on second  tri magic"

@kloe818 i think i would lose my mind if my child kept their legs  crossed everytime i wanted a peek 😂

@bcashaw OK so the NIPT didn't work for us due to me being on blood thinner. 2 ultrasounds where baby was uncooperative. Canceled amnio because of blood thinners again. That's now 4 attempts to find out sex of the baby (among other things) and, because we couldn't do amnio we decided to go with a quad screening that indicated extremely low risk for genetic issues, we aren't going to go through with the amnio because it's not worth the risk (placenta is LITERALLY in the way). SO...if baby doesn't cooperate next week for our anatomy scan, I'm going to flip out. I will drink a cappuccino to get this kid to hop around a little JUST so we can get some legs uncrossed. I mean apparently he/she's super chill because it's been full-on lounge mode when we've tried the past 2 times with the full-on machine instead of the little hand-held device we used to make sure there's still a heartbeat at appointments. Legs crossed at ankles and one hand up behind head. Legit. That's my kid. And we didn't get prints of that because we didn't think to ask.

DID I MENTION THE BUG BITES ARE ON MY BUTT!?!?!?!?!? I'm here sitting on the itchiest butt ever and I can't scratch because I'm sitting on it which is making the bites itch worse.
  • @kloe818 I must've missed your quad screen results.  What a relief!!! Girl, you've been through so much. I hope this little bean cooperates next week!!!

    Upcoming appointments: MFM 10/13
How are you feeling?: 6 months pregnant...still having all the symptoms and my hips are going painfully numb at night from sleeping on my sides.
Rants/Raves:  Baby girls both equally weight 7 oz. they were only 5 oz. two weeks ago!
Questions:  Does anyone else get completely exhausted after having an appointment or is it just me?
GTKY: Do you prefer working from home or actually going into the office?  I'm a SAHM and homeschool my kids...I love being at home!

@kloe818 The mosquitoes always seem to find me too!  I've had a few bites on my butt as well...LOL  Baby needs to start showing the goods or no goods!  I always bring something very cold to drink before ultrasound.  It helps get baby moving.

@mvt2003 It's not worth the sickness to go without meds...I've tried it also and just end up miserable.
  •  @travandas SOME bites would be nice...it's 30. I had hubby take a pic and counted them...it's 30 bites on my butt cheek and a little lower into my upper thigh. I will likely have to do the same thing with the ice cold beverage to wake up the baby. OB also suggested a small snack of something carby to give the baby energy.

    Upcoming appointments: October 8th

How are you feeling?:No major complaints!

Rants/Raves: This week has just completely flown by for me I don't even know where the time has gone. I have been busy starting a new position at work and I have also been going through all my daughter's clothes trying to sell as much as possible. I am planning to do a consignment event in a few weeks so I have to actually price and tag everything and I'm pretty sure I have over 100 items. DH and I went out on our first date night in over a year this past weekend which was so nice! I also haven't had any bleeding now in over a week so I am crossing my fingers that's the end of it. My biggest rant at the moment is my fitness.  :(  I haven't worked out in literally weeks. Every time I got back on the bike my bleeding would start again so I would stop. I'm really frustrated that I haven't been able to get back into a routine.

    Questions:

GTKY: Do you prefer working from home or actually going into the office? I definitely prefer working from home but I don't have a real desk space. I have been using random areas of my house to sit and work in but we are going to buy a desk for me soon! I am just waiting on a good sale because the cost of shipping alone for the desk I want is stupid expensive!
  • I just realized I never answered the questions myself lol

@jenotontx hooray for no bleeding! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is it!

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a large order of McDonald's fries lol

Upcoming appointments: had one on tuesday, next appointment is my anatomy scan 10/23

How are you feeling?: still pretty exhausted, and the heartburn is killing me, but other than that I'm hanging in there

    Rants/Raves:

    Questions:

GTKY: Do you prefer working from home or actually going into the office?  I really want to love working from home because I like not commuting and also sometimes I like getting away from my staff :D but my daughter actually makes it pretty hard to stay focused so I tend to work better when I'm in the office (don't tell my boss though lol)

@jenotontx Yay for no bleeding! Have you tried another exercise other than the bike to see if something else won't cause bleeding?

Update for me: I started feeling little guy move last night! I think I might've been feeling it for a week now and just didn't realize.  I was expecting flutters like I had with DS but these already feel like actual movement/kicks. I love it!!

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: 2 Avocados

Upcoming appointments: Seeing MFM in 2 weeks

How are you feeling?: My nausea is almost completely gone but I have been having terrible acid reflex/heartburn. It is 100% worse at night so I am not sleeping. Any ideas on things that have helped other people with acid reflux/heartburn are greatly appreciated. I never had this with my previous pregnancies and Tums are not working any more! Thank you!

Rants/Raves: I had an appointment earlier this week. Both babies look great. We were able to find out that Baby A is a Girl! Baby B kept their legs crossed so we were unable to find out so we will try again at our next appointment! Very excited for DD to have a sister but now cannot wait for our next appointment so that we can find out about Baby B. I have a feeling it is a Boy but we will see!
DH was not allowed to come in with me but they did allow me to FaceTime him in for the entire appointment which was very nice so that he could be there.

    Questions:

GTKY: Do you prefer working from home or actually going into the office? Doing school social work over the computer is not easy at all. I so wish we could be back in person and that I could be with my kiddos. The current plan we have is only for the first 10 weeks of school. Many schools around us are starting to go back in some hybrid form so I am sure come November 1st we will be coming back in some in person form as well. I like working from home due to the comfort, its like business on the top comfy on the bottom but there is so much I cannot due social work wise through a computer screen.

Oh my!  That's a lot of bites.... Hopefully, they will heal quickly!
  • @travandas Calamine lotion has been a godsend and things are progressing past the itchy all the time into the "itchy only when I accidentally scratch it and then ALL OF THEM ITCH" phase.
  • @kloe818 Rubbing alcohol works amazing to dry them out also.
  • @jenotontx So glad you're doing better! I'm on day 3 in a row (knock on wood!) of no spotting when I wipe, so if I make it 2-4 more days I'm cleared for light activity again! I literally hugged my treadmill the other night :D

  • @travandas Wasn't working for more than a few seconds for me with these. Not sure if it's a new mosquito or just someone REALLY voracious. At least they're also looking better.
  • @swbecca528 the only thing that works for me is gaviscon. Theres a limit to how many you can take per day, but tums are completely  useless to me.
  • @kloe818 we got a thermacell this year and it works really well. Mosquitos are more attracted to pregnant people because of the extra blood oxygen or something sciency.  Maybe check out the thermacell if you're  planning to be spending  more time outside  in the evening
  • @bcashaw We have a few thermacells and we love them too.  I'm normally eaten alive outside, but as long as give the thermacell a few minutes to do it's thing, I'm pretty safe.

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Okay here’s the story for this...I had an appointment yesterday and asked my doctor if he’s able to tell the gender if he could write it down and put it in an envelope. Well I was filming the whole ultrasound and he started showing between baby’s legs and then turned the screen away when he took a photo and typed the gender on it for us. Well because it’s me, I went back and watch the video like 10 times and started googling ultrasound photos for boys and girls and I now think I know what we’re having...lol I’m actually really sure. We’re doing the reveal on Sunday with family so I’ll know for sure then...but again, I think I already know! lol

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: A newborn bottle or an orange

    Upcoming appointments: October 12

How are you feeling?: Okay. The nausea isn’t waking me up so much anymore, but the cramping has returned. Sometimes I know for sure it’s round ligament pain because I feel it when I turn a certain way or something, but sometimes like now, I’m just sitting still and I’m having some cramping. Kinda scary, just trying to take it easy.

Rants/Raves: Rant—My work schedule changed and I’m working 5 days a week now instead of 4, but that extra day off is what gave me enough time to rest AND to do everything I needed at home each week. Now my weekends feel rushed and unrestful and that’s been tough. Rave—see the above about baby’s gender lol I’m so excited for Sunday!

Questions: Is that cramping thing I mentioned just part of round ligament pain? I forgot to ask my doctor. I’m also having some pain “down there.” Kinda like cramps but in my vagina?? Should I be concerned or...??

GTKY: Do you prefer working from home or actually going into the office? I worked from home for a short time, about 3 months, and I loved it. But I got laid off and had to start another job where working from home isn’t possible. Really hoping I won’t have to go back to work after having the baby, I’d love to be home full time, but as of right now it looks like I’ll have to.
  • @bcashaw @juliebeannn Just ordered one. Thank you for the recommendation. I may still use repellant when I dismantle the garden this weekend but I'll have this for next year.
  • @annanbby First timer here too and from what I understand that "lightening crotch" zap in the girlie bits is part of round ligament pain. I've been dealing with that for the past 2 days.
  • @kloe818 I was wondering if that’s what it was! A lot of these things have started earlier than I expected. Glad to know I’m not the only one, but I’m sorry you’re dealing with it too. It’s a little uncomfortable.
  • @annanbby definitely round ligament pain! Lightning croch is awful lol and started way earlier for me this time around. I've been having light pulling/pinching cramp feelings and it sometimes stresses me out, but I definitely think it's just round ligament pain. I also found that I get way 'crampy' when I don't drink enough water.
  • @annanbby @sunny_native14 My first pregnancy this year I had it really early, like 6 or 7 weeks (ended in loss). This pregnancy it started before I had my first beta test (IVF). Honestly, between that and being able to smell the neighbor's dog pee in their yard, I should have known I'd be positive but I doubted it. It comes in stages for me. I can go a couple weeks with out any and then I roll wrong at night or stand up too fast and its like OWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW and hubby's like WHAT???
And yes, Sunny's got it with the water too. I've noticed that.
  • @kloe818 we got a thermacell this year and it works really well. Mosquitos are more attracted to pregnant people because of the extra blood oxygen or something sciency.  Maybe check out the thermacell if you're  planning to be spending  more time outside  in the evening
  • @annanbby i started getting lightening crotch a few days ago! And i was like 😬
  • @bcashaw I ordered one Friday haha.
