I'm so sorry to all the ladies going through this right now. I love how supportive this group is! For everyone who has appointments today, my fingers and toes are crossed for you 🤞🤞.

I have had some brown spotting for about a week. It wasn't much at all so I wasn't really concerned. Yesterday DH and I had sex, and I had some red bleeding after that, now its back to brown. My first appointment with my midwife is tomorrow, but it's on Zoom so she won't be able to do a physical. My first ultrasound is on Thursday. Knowing both appointments were coming up so soon, I've been holding off calling her, and since the spotting is pretty light still, I think I'll just wait until tomorrow. I've been feeling ok, although, mysteriously my boobs aren't nearly as sore as they were, and I actually had trouble falling asleep last night (I was soooooo tired up until now). Looking forward to my appointment tomorrow, hopefully will shed some light. I'm not usually one to panic, and I know that MC is a very real possibility due to my age, and I've never been pregnant before. UGH. 😔. I haven't wanted to tell either of our families yet but if we do MC, I don't know how we will be able to hide it.

    Hi ladies!
i had my first ultrasound today (9w6d) and she found “a couple of small blood clots”. She didn’t say where and didn’t call it a SCH and just said They will look at it again at 12-14 weeks. Anyone eles have/had this? No bleeding or spotting.

praying for all you who are going through this, this to shall pass :)
  • Sending good thoughts and positive vibes to everyone going through this stressful time. <3
  • On Sunday I had a big gush of bright red blood. It just all came suddenly at once like a big wave. I went to the ER and they did an ultrasound, saw heartbeat and said everything looked normal and no indictation of why I’m bleeding. I have a follow up appt with my MFM on Friday. The appt was suppose to be yesterday but they called at last minute and cancelled because dr had an emergency csection to attend. Frustrating and nerve racking to wait until Friday but all the bleeding seems to have resolved so I’m trying to think positively.

@jenn622-2 I’m sorry, that’s so scary 😞 I’m sorry that your appointment got pushed a few days too, that’s so frustrating! I’m glad everything looked okay at the ER and that the bleeding has stopped. I’m thinking of you this week! ❤️
  • @jenn622-2 That happened to me due to a SCH last pregnancy (that baby is a happy, healthy 16mo right now). I was able to get into an OB in my doctor's office so didn't have to go to the ER but the ultrasound showed the bleeding but not a SCH that could be measured. I imagine she was more trained in what that specifically looked like than an ER doc would be. I actually had to ask the doctor when I was leaving if it was a SCH (she had horrible bedside manner) which she said yes but she couldn't give me very much information. The ultrasound about a week later was able to measure the SCH (it had stopped actively bleeding). It's nerve wracking for sure but my OB also said about 20-25% of pregnancies have some bleeding.

@jenn622-2 Praying for good news for you! My OB told me there are so many reasons why ladies bleed during pregnancy, not just for a miscarriage. Definitely stay positive like you said! <3
  • @jenn622-2 Hoping all goes well and you get some clarity soon!
  • @jenn622-2 yay for a good report! I’m so glad everything is okay! ❤️
  • Hi all- just needing to vent- I’m 10w+ 6d and on Thursday I wiped and had one little pink discharge (smaller than a dime) and called my dr and due to previous MC sent me to the ER- thankfully I had an ultrasound to see that everything is okay but I do have a SCH that they said was so small. Thankfully I haven’t had anything else since but I have been so paranoid. I’m on pelvic rest and what I consider to be modified bed rest until it hopefully is resolved. Praying it does because I’m getting close to wanting to tell everyone due to holidays and what not coming up with immediate family and not wanting to pretend to be drinking anymore (I’ve done it for like 3 events and I’m already over that) when I don’t want the wine or I’m drinking water.... it doesn’t mean I’m pregnant (although this time it does lol) can anyone tell I’m cranky too? :)
  • thinking of you @allthingsbarbie! Has the bleeding stopped?
  • @jenn622-2- yes thankfully! It was literally that one wipe when I noticed it. As others I am sure have mentioned it’s like each time I use the rest room which is often I check because I’m petrified- so you can imagine when I saw that my heart sank. Thankfully they took an US so I could relax after I saw things were still going okay (relax as in probably looked crazy as hell bc I sobbed like crazy- happy tears)
  • @allthingsbarbie I’m so glad the bleeding has stopped! Take care of yourself and keep taking it easy. I don’t blame you one bit for the happy tears! ❤️
  • @allthingsbarbie, I did the same. When i saw the heartbeat I started crying so hard the US technician had to stop because I was shaking the whole table, ha. I know how you feel with every time you wipe it’s scary. Sometimes I feel what is just normal discharge or sweat and I run to the bathroom to make sure it’s not blood. It’s definitely a heavy mental load. I’ve just made an appointment with a therapist that specializes in pregnancy/postpartum issues because I feel like I definitely need some extra support and I want to make sure I’m mentally prepared for the rest of the pregnancy (and afterwards).
  • @allthingsbarbie so sorry you experienced that. I had a SCH with a LOT of bleeding last pregnancy and I have a healthy, happy 16mo. I was on pelvic rest and modified bedrest until 20 weeks but my SCH was not small.

  • @bblair24 thank you for the well wishes- I really do appreciate it.

@jenn622-2 - that sounds exactly like what happened to me. Thankfully the technician was so kind- she showed me right away but had said she really shouldn’t. I told her I really wished that I could give her a hug lol! That also sounds like something I need to look into. It tough bc I typically am the type of person that takes care of everyone else around me and don’t like my own emotions but man o man I’m learning I am no touch cookie haha!

@k@kvh22 That is such wonderful news and I am so happy that everything worked out for you! I’ve tried to remain calm and positive and knowing the rest of the symptoms are still there is definitely reassuring!
  • I just wanted to pipe in here with a positive explanations. Sometimes, around 5-8w until 12w, as the placenta takes over, your hormone levels may briefly drop and can cause spotting. Always call your OB, but remember, most cases of bleeding end in happy ever after. I wish everyone a safe and healthy pregnancy.
  • @allthingsbarbie Oh I was definitely not calm during all of that last pregnancy. It was very stressful but I tried, like you, to be as calm as I could. It's easy for me to say everything turned out great now but I don't want to give you the idea that I was super chill.

  • @allthingsbarbie I had that scare once too- definitely nerve wracking! So glad it's resolved and you saw a good heartbeat
  • Here I am again at 16 weeks and bleeding again. 😭 I just saw my OB on Tuesday. He did the fetal Doppler and heartbeat sounded good but he didn’t do an US. I’m going back in tomorrow morning for an US. I did do more exercise than usual yesterday. I typically go for a 30 min walk but yesterday I started slowly jogging for about 10-15 min. Boy am I regretting that now. I hoped now that I was in the second tri and hadn’t had any bleeding for several weeks that I could start to exercise a bit more. From now on no exercise for me! I hope so much the bleeding resolves and everything is ok. Feeling so guilty and awful for pushing it and potentially causing complications.
  • @jenn622-2 any bleeding in pregnancy is such a mind f*** but my OB (as sympathetically as possible) always says 20-25% of normal pregnancies have some bleeding. It SUCKS. It's terrifying. But there are so many different reasons it could be happening in which the baby is totally fine <3<3<3 Thinking of you. Being this far along if it's a SCH or many other things is great news compared to earlier in pregnancy.

  • @jenn622-2 thinking of you- it is so terrifying when there's bleeding at all, even when totally normal! glad you're able to get checked out soon for peace of mind
