Re: GTKY: most used phrase

  • Loading the player...
  • Hands down its “Do you know what I mean?”
  • I usually insert Friend into phrases.  It can be either a good thing or a bad thing depending on tone.  When I get cut off in traffic, I often tell my "Friend" some things about their driving skills.  Or I chastise the dog with it.
  • "Really?" Usually dripping with sarcasm...
  • “I’m tired” has come out of my mouth at least 4 times a day for the past 6 years lol
  • It's not the one I say most often, but one I say more often than I ever expected...

    "Don't lick [insert random thing]"

Don't lick the couch. Don't lick the dog. Don't lick your brother. Don't lick your arm.

    The list goes on 🤦‍♀️

  • Oh shit - had to cut back on this bc my 19 month old says it 😑
    no
    stop

  • @mom_of_the_vogels I had my son wear a mask at an empty playground because it prevents inappropriate licking

lately “I’m going to throw up”

  • @the_road_to_oz. When I was still working, that was one advantage of kids wearing masks at the zoo.  They were not licking the glass windows to the enclosures!!
  • @willashbaby That literally made me laugh out loud haha

I don’t know that I have a real phrase but I talk in a fake Aussie accent all the time (my SO is Australian so it’s fun to make fun of) and say “ah no worries.”
  • @dobiemom11 Gross!! I can't help but think how many people touch those glass dividers every day! Not many kid things gross me out either... My kid can totally eat food off the floor or ground every day with no sideways glances from me. But the glass??
  • At work I think it's "no worries" or "no problem" haha.  In the rest of my life it's probably a combo of "damnit" and "those dogs" complete with eyeroll.

  • w.t.f. spelled out... or I'm one of those over-apologizers...even if someone bumps into me or gets in my way, I'll be the one to say 'oh sorry'...I try to say 'excuse me' instead, but usually it's 'sorry'

  • @bearmomma1 I am also an over-apologizer and it drives DH crazy. He swears that one day he heard me say sorry to the coffee table after I bumped into it! Truthfully, I was probably reading a book on my phone and walking at the same time and thought I bumped into him.
  • @bearmomma1
I can’t think of any phrases I use much but that would probably be at the top. I better get that under control for teaching!
