  • Okay, how do you post a GIF? I forget. :D

  • @theblondebump ahh too funny. How much did they change your EDD (aka what was your original thinking)?

  • @kvh22 when I put in the date of my last period into an online calculator it said 4/4, but I knew that the date didn't make sense, based on when I know that I ovulated. I know my cycle was longer than 28 days and I did ovulation tests every day and tracked all the days we had sex. So my estimate was that the due date was off by 3 days and when I went for the first appointment (I was only like 4.5 weeks at the time), the OB confirmed that it was off by a few days, so we thought 4/7. Then, when I went today, the OB agreed and said actually she thought it was going to be pushed back further to 4/10 or 4/11. But then when we checked out, she said actually she put the measurements from the ultrasound into the computer, it said 4/4 for the due date! So we're back to 4/4.

It's all so close together, just a difference of days, but my husband's birthday is 4/7 so we thought it was fun that the due date was on his birthday before haha.
  • @bblair24 you can just copy a gif like any other picture and then paste it

@theblondebump haha due dates seem like voodoo sometimes! I'm glad your appointment went well though!
  • I wish people would stop posting pictures of food on fb 🥴 I end up scrolling late at night (like right now, at 11:45) because I can’t fall asleep and then I see this big zoomed in food picture and it just makes my stomach turn! Bleh. Or they need a filter option to just hide all the food pictures. I should just contact them and ask them to do that for me quick. 😂
  • We live about 1.5 hours from Hershey, PA (where all of the Hershey's chocolate is made!) and I was feeling really antsy this week like I wanted to go somewhere for a couple days. They have a decent hotel there in Hershey with a nice spa and a huge pool and nice gardens to walk around. Also, my husband is a big golfer and they have two golf courses so I figured I could get two spa days out of it hahah. They have a big menu of pre-natal spa treatments and between that and the pool, it seemed like a nice little relaxing way to send off summer before it was too cold to lay out by the pool anymore. My husband was on board and then all of a sudden, I totally freaked myself out... I just figured we wouldn't get near any other people, would be outside, totally stay clear of other people, would just do room service to eat, etc. but then I started thinking about HVAC systems and what if someone was sick in one room, could it come through the air conditioning system into our room? hahah. I am kind of psycho. But I googled and it seems like there have been COVID clusters from a/c systems circulating and stuff, so now I freaked myself out too much to enjoy a little few day vacay. Crap.
  • @theblondebump I think you might live close to me! The Hotel Hershey has been high on my list of close by one-night getaways for hubby and I for a while because of the spa! Still haven't done it (because 3 kids...) but someday! I am sure they are being extremely cautious, especially at such a luxury hotel, but I know it can be hard not to worry.
  • @bblair24 same on the food pictures. I love my Trader Joe's group but I just can't see their food posts anymore without getting instantly nauseous.
  • @bblair24 @forevertired same. And the tasty videos that constantly show up in my newsfeed...I'm either wanting to barf just glancing at it or I immediately must have that thing.
  • @forevertired and @juliebird6 I’m sorry you also have nasty food showing up on your newsfeed! I usually don’t care but it’s just no good right now. I love watching Food Network and I was actually able to do that without feeling more sick today, but that food is professional and pretty. 😂
  • @theblondebump @runsoncoffee I grew up in New York & i definitely grew up going to Hershey Park! It always smelled sooooo good!!
  • Haha yess @goldpolkadot - made my husband do the chocolate tour last year to introduce him, always grew up going. @runsoncoffee cool!! are you in PA?
  • Re: our previous conversation about sharing food with our children. I remembered yesterday about these frozen bacon egg and cheese biscuits that I ate when pregnant with DD1 and I had DH add them to the grocery order. I’m eating one this morning and it actually tastes okay - I’m not having to force it down at least. Naturally DD2 is standing here beside me, wanting a “lib-o-wit” (aka little bit 😂) every time I take a bite. She keeps asking for a little bit more. Good thing she’s cute! 😜
  • I am considering switching OB's and feel so weird about it! I've been with mine for maybe 12 years or so and she has delivered my 3 other kids. However, I feel like I hear about people loving their OB's and I definitely feel like mine is just fine. Gets the job done but no real connection there. Has anyone switched? It would be a hospital change to which would actually be only about 10 minutes from our house compared to 30. Why am I so nervous about this?!

  • @pelorunningmama I have not switched but we're planning to move across the country during this pregnancy (hopefully), I'm sad to leave my OB but am also kind of like, I know what I'm doing and it's less of a big deal for my 3rd pregnancy to finish it out with someone else who might not be a perfect fit. At the same time, I'm still looking for recommendations in the area I'm moving to as I'd like to pick a good one. So idk - if I were in your shoes I might just tough it out if you have an uncomplicated pregnancy - but who can predict that? Like, the doctor who delivered DD2 was there for about 5 minutes lol. She literally just caught the baby (wasn't my regular OB) and by the end, the appointments are so frequent half of mine in the last month had to be with someone else anyways. For my first, my OB was perfect and I was so bummed she wasn't going to be on call around my due date for my second at all but it really didn't matter. BUT, that doesn't mean that if you have a good recommendation for another one that you shouldn't switch, especially for a closer hospital if you like it better. I was looking up the hospitals in the city I'm moving (there's only 2 really) and one only has a level 2 baby center so I'm only looking for OBs that deliver at the other with a level 3 NICU. My mom recommended one she loved (who wasn't her OB but she clicked with her right away) and that person was also on the recommendations list in the local moms FB group I'm in so she's kind of my hope at the moment.

  • @theblondebump haha! I am CONVINCED (and also terrified) that I’m having twins!!!
I have this insatiable hunger that I did not have with my first. I’ve already gained 3 lbs!! I’ve also had way more nausea than I had with my first. I’m so afraid there is an army of babies in there 😂 I have another US tomorrow (first US at 5 weeks only showed a sac) so I should know soon!!
  • @theblondebump @jenn622-2 uhm.. SAME. Multiples run rampant in both sides of our family, including a set of spontaneous triplets on my mom's side. DH gets these strong, and usually accurate, feelings about random things and he just has a feeling it's twins. Like, he just knew I was pregnant with our first before I even tested. Then he just knew it was boy (we were team green, so waited alllll the way). I don't necessarily feel like it is, but I've also be farrrrrrrrrrrrr more symptomatic this time around than with DS, and the bloating is unreal. My first US isn't until the 16th, so its sucks to wait, but also I'll be 10+3 by then so there will be no doubt once we do see whats going on in there.

  • @mamabee1113 my SIL had NO morning sickness with her son and is now probably about 10 weeks or so (I think - she was vague and we didn't share we were pregnant so I don't know her exact due date) but she is having morning sickness for the first time and I was convinced it was a girl for that reason b/c scientifically, you are more likely to have worse MS with a girl. Then when I got horrible morning sickness compared to my prior two pregnancies after thinking that about her, I'm like...they were both already girls so the only thing to make it worse would be...TWINS. I figure it's still a small chance but since I was BF it's higher. We only had one set of twins in my last BMB and it was IVF but two in my BMB with DD1 that were both natural. A mom in my last BMB had a surprise 4th pregnancy turn out to be twins.

  • bblair24 DS always manages to find me when I sneak a snack and tells me we need to share. But last night he got a few m&m's and gave both me and DH 2 of them without being asked. It was so sweet! I still want to eat my whole doughnut or chips sometimes kid.

@MandersX aww that’s so sweet of him to share! Especially with something as valuable as M&Ms ☺️ I have totally eaten snacks in the pantry before. And we don’t have a walk in pantry, just a big cabinet. I just shove my head in there like I’m searching for something and stuff my face. 😂

@kvh22 oh gosh, I have had the same exact thought. With my girls I had what I thought was bad morning sickness, but this is wayyyy worse than how I felt with them. I’m like what if that means it’s multiple girls?!

ETA I have two friends from my July 14 group that each had two singleton girls, then their third pregnancies each resulted in twin girls 😳 4 little girls. Whew.
  • Haha omg @jenn622-2 and @mamabee1113 - can't wait to find out if either of you have twins in there! DH was convinced we did, but NOPE just one :)

Dinner tonight. Am I doing this right? Should I add this to the meal planning thread? I feel like I’m already giving up and I’m only 6 weeks in. 😂

  • @bblair24 haha I think that's fine to post here. I'm literally sitting her thinking about how I don't want to eat anything in my house. I went to take DD2 on a walk to the UPS store and the grocery store and noticed she lost her paci (turtle wubanub if you know) so walked back to find it after the UPS store and she started falling asleep in the stroller. I didn't have any calls until later in the afternoon so I said screw it to the grocery store and came home so I could nap when she did at lunch...now our grocery delivery order I placed when I got home doesn't get here until after dinner and I have no idea what I'm going to eat. All I can think about is the moose tracks ice cream I ordered.

    Babysizer Cravings Pregnancy Baby Tracker

  • @kvh22 I totally understand! DH picked up a full grocery load today, a lot of which I specifically requested, and this was the only thing I could fathom eating. I’m glad you got a nap in!
  • Oh wow all of the twin vibes! I'm excited to hear what happens.
I finally called to schedule my first appointment, and I'm realizing how late I apparently am. I've been seeing my IVF doctor and will through 12 weeks so I wasn't on the ball with getting my OBGYN. I called and they have to see my records before they'll accept me as a patient, and it will take up to 10 days for them to receive/review my records. If the first doctor of choice doesn't accept me she'll pass it on to another doctor in the practice and then the 10 day wait starts over.  :# Oops. I'm 8 weeks tomorrow and thought I still had time since I don't need to be seen until 12 weeks, but now I'm having a mild freak out that no one will have room since most people with an April due date already have their appointments scheduled.
  • All I want to eat right now is carbs, cheese, and ice cream. I’m trying to restrict my ice cream intake to every other night and it’s a major struggle. Last night while my hubs binged on ice cream I ate a banana with almond butter and honey as a substitute. Not bad but damn did I want some rocky road!
  • @bblair24 that looks so good haha

I'm in the same boat that others are saying - in the rare moments where I actually feel hungry, I'm not in the mood for anything in the house, even though there's a fully stocked fridge and pantry! I'm literally eating the most random stuff all day long - this morning I woke up immediately wanting chocolate milk. Then had a mini bagel. Then two hours later while running errands I saw a dunkin donuts and wanted a bacon egg and cheese wake up wrap (at least it has an egg in it??) haha. Then I took a 2.5 hour nap LOL. Woke up and ate animal crackers (thank you whoever mentioned them this week!!) and cantaloupe and mango. Decided now I was hungry for dinner but nothing sounded good, so we ended up ordering olive garden - I was craving the breadsticks and got some minestone soup. I dno I'm just trying to survive the first trimester! 2.5 more weeks to go.

Oh also, my FIL came to visit yesterday and stayed over. This morning when I started off with chocolate milk, he reminded me to "watch my weight" and not gain too much while I'm pregnant! My sweet husband promptly told him to shut up lol.
  • @theblondebump ooh he better watch it! When people commented about my weight I always wished I had the balls to comment about theirs right back. I could never do it, but my grumpy pregnant self wanted to. 😂
  • @theblondebump oooh chocolate milk sounds so good right now! I would’ve lost my mind with the weight comment! Glad your husband had you back.
  • haha the ironic part is that he's incredibly overweight and I'm average-sized, but my in-laws can be extremely difficult and I've learned it's so much easier if I just ignore them. They've historically been pretty awful to me, but now that I'm carrying their first grandchild, they've suddenly become a lot nicer haha.
  • haha ya'll are my spirit animals. I ate ice cream for dinner two nights this week so far... and that's only because i've managed to restrain myself from the other nights somehow.

@theblondbump dang! He should know better than to make a comment like that! But I can relate.

My mom came to visit two weekends ago, and i was talking about how i will probably start showing by the next time i see her (in 6 weeks). She told me she thought I was already showing because i was skinny everywhere but my belly (I was 6 weeks at the time and definitely not showing).

For reference, i've struggled with my weight my whole life, and really hold most of it in my belly and boobs. I just lost 30 lbs, so my arms, boobs and back have slimmed down a lot... but my belly is still it's same old chunky self. Thanks for noticing mom.
  • @theblondebump I’m sadly very familiar with that! I’m sorry that’s how your in laws are too. To be fair, my FIL has always been fine with me. MIL is a different story. Her tune changed when I was pregnant with DD1, who is her obvious favorite. Then she started to treat me a little differently, but it’s obvious that I’m really just a vessel for grandchildren. She’s going to freak out when she finds out I’m pregnant again (I mean excited over the top freak out) and will probably ask daily if we know if it’s a boy yet. 😬

(MIL always always always comments on people’s weight and appearance, which is funny because she’s not exactly in tip top shape herself! “Oh has she gained weight?!” “Well she’s real pretty in the face but so big!” It makes me cringe every. time.)
  • @theblondebump umm wtf? Good job to YH for saying something right away👏 I have never gotten any weight comments but also never had anyone touch my stomach...might have a slight case of RBF or something as I hear that's common.

MIL can be great sometimes. I might have already shared this but she was going through some mental health issues (I believe depression but haven't actually heard her say this, just from other people that she started getting help) around the time we got married and then pregnant with DD1. She was a monster for a lot of wedding planning. She loves her grandkids but was a jerk to me when I was dealing with morning sickness. I asked if she'd had it and she said no, not at all. Come to find out from other family members that she 100% did with all of her pregnancies 🙄 She's much more stable now but our relationship has a lot of tension that could be fixed if she just apologized or tried to explain but DH says that'll never happen. She also doesn't think women should work after they have kids so we have a major issue there. Lots of fun.

Oh man, I’m with all of you! I totally had McDonald’s with a chocolate shake for dinner tonight 🤦‍♀️

ETA: I’ve had a couple different family members ask me with my previous pregnancies if I was sure it wasn’t twins, and another asshole asked me if I was sure it wasn’t quadruplets. I bit my tongue with both because I’m not very close to either person but, that quadruplets comment... 🖕 The first time someone even looks like they MIGHT comment on my weight, I’m gonna eat them.
  • @juliebird6 that sounds so good and I never eat mcdonald's lol! Literally the last time I did was 9 years ago when we drove cross country.

  • @theblondebump yep, I'm in PA. I actually worked at Hersheypark for 5+ years in my younger days, but I live in a different area now.
@pelorunningmama I have actually been considering a switch too. I do love my current office but have always wondered what the larger. Women specific hospital was like... it is opposite for us though. Current one is 5 min away (SO convenient) and the other is 30 min.
  • @theblondebump I always crave chocolate milk when pregnant. And I hate milk in real life!
