  • @juliebird6 I searched and searched for ramen at the store last week and never found it. I was SO disappointed 😂

How far along are you? 5 and a half-ish weeks

What symptoms do you have this week? My boobs are still huge and sore, and I’m finally super nauseous. Last week I was all “oh no, why am I not nauseous?!” And apparently I just needed to wait a few days. 😬 I sent my OB a message about prescriptions I’ve used in the past/using Unisom and B6. I hope to hear back soon. I don’t handle this part very well and it’s getting in the way of parenting. As much as I hate it, I’m weirdly comforted by it because it makes me feel like things are “right.”

GYKY: What is your go-to food for nausea? I found these stomach settle drops at Target (not liquid, like cough drops). They’re ginger, lemon, and mint. They help but I don’t love the taste. I usually go for crackers or pretzels. We have pepperoni because DD2 loves it so much and I’ve been eating that too!

  • How far along are you? 8+1

What symptoms do you have this week? Still all the worst of everything. OB gave me meds for my nausea last week, but it makes me SO tired that I literally cannot take it during the day. I took it on Friday and fell asleep sitting up while grading assignments..  :|

GYKY: What is your go-to food for nausea? I don't really have a go-to, I've just learned I basically need to constantly eat to stave of nausea (or at least keep it tame). Fruits are just about the only things that haven't made me dry heave at the thought or smell of.

What symptoms do you have this week? Nausea, insomnia, fatigue.  I haven't been participating much because I'm in survival mode over here.

GYKY: What is your go-to food for nausea? rice crackers, cinnamon toast crunch cereal, toast.  There have been several days in the last week when I didn't eat anything but cinnamon toast crunch until 3pm.  I have been able to eat other foods after that so far.  I've been able to eat other things after then so far.

  • hahah @juliebird6 @bblair24 - I also sent my husband to the store this past week for ramen noodles!! I opened the package, dumped out all the "stuff" and then put back in the corn and carrots. I'm a weirdo.

How far along are you? 9+1 (I thought a little less, just based on the fact that my cycle was a little longer than typical and the generic due date calculation showed me ovulating like 4 days earlier than when I know I actually ovulated because I was tracking everything very closely. Today at my ultrasound my OB thought they were going to change the due date to 6 days later, but then when she put in measurements it ended up being April 4, so I guess now I'm a little bit further along!)

What symptoms do you have this week? Def nauseous (but not vomiting thankfully!), extreme fatigue, aversion to meat and other various foods/loss of appetite, this is a weird one - but I honestly feel like my armpits smell way worse than normal lol has anyone else experienced that????? Also, I can't believe how large my boobs have gotten so early. I've always had large breasts, but they are HUGE right now. Not painful though so I'll take it haha.

GYKY: What is your go-to food for nausea? Been eating hard sourdough pretzels when I need a little tiny something in my stomach, I ate vegetable barley soup a few times this week - it helped me feel like I was getting some veggies and something in my stomach without something too heavy. Plenty of cold fruit - mango, cantaloupe, pineapple, etc. I eat an apple just about every day. A few pistachios or almonds here and there. Brown sugar oatmeal has been good in the morning. And my guiltiest pleasure this week: I think I ate an egg mcmuffin 3 times!! I can't stomach the egg, so I take that off lol but I eat the english muffin with cheese and canadian bacon.

  • @theblondebump I haven’t noticed it yet this time around, but I had to buy the super strength deodorant with my girls because I constantly smelled so bad 😂 I’m not sure if I smelled to other people or if it was just because my nose was sensitive. I was teaching 4th grade at that point and thought one of my kids smelled bad. They all left for the day and I still smelled it and realized it was me and I stopped for new deodorant on the way home that same day!
  • lol @bblair24 well I'm glad I'm not the only one!! I was like omg, I've never smelled like this before! haha. Thank goodness for deodorant but man...
  • How far along are you? 6 weeks 5 days!

What symptoms do you have this week? Nausea (I think? someone in another thread described it as being hungover all the time and that's exactly how I feel - run down, headache, stomach on the fritz, exhausted - it's not the most fun!), Fatigue, sore boobs.

GYKY: What is your go-to food for nausea? This week, it's corn muffins. I'm not sure why but they're the only thing that sound remotely appetizing and have been a saving grace. My husband made me a batch and I've demolished them.
  • How far along are you? 6w0d

What symptoms do you have this week? Nausea is ramping up, which makes me hopeful! I dry heaved while brushing my teeth then proudly announced this to my husband. Yesterday I had to throw out all the garlic in the house because the pantry smell was making me want to vomit.

GYKY: What is your go-to food for nausea?
ginger and peppermint tea, cucumber water, animal crackers, pretzel rods dipped in mustard, veggie soup, and preggie drops have been helpful.

What symptoms do you have this week?
I have been having cramping randomly and not particular to one side just off and on and random to either one side or both. is this normal?  and this morning feeling nausea....vomited on the side of the road on my way to work this morning   :#

GYKY: What is your go-to food for nausea?
    Preggie Pop Drops
  • Ooohh animal crackers and corn muffins both sound really good  :D@rexnie @anarmillay92918

  • @anarmillay92918 Corn muffins sounds good.  Definitely going to make some (or convince my husband to).

I've also been craving ramen.  I actually made it from scratch with fancy organic ramen noodles the other night.  It was good, but not good enough to justify the time and effort.

@theblondebump @bblair24 I definitely started sweating more/smelling worse when I was pregnant the first time.  It actually hasn't gone back to normal for me.  I used to be able to go without deodorant, but I can't anymore.

  • @kadeephd haha oh great! I'll just chalk this up to the list of things about pregnancy no one ever told me  :D
  • @theblondebump umm it gets 10x worse postpartum. I never noticed it during pregnancy. But postpartum is BAD!

  • Hahah oh noooo!!! @kvh22
  • So another symptom that’s not pregnancy related at this point but will be some day 😂 I messed up my back yesterday (helping DH put up a canopy thing, I moved weird trying to reach it) and it totally feels like I have sciatic nerve pain acting up now! It started last night. It’s the tell-tale butt cheek pain that shoots down in to my leg. I was telling DH about it last night and I was like, the baby’s the size of an apple seed so I’m pretty sure it’s not his/her fault yet! But I had issues with that in both pregnancies with my girls. Ah, signs of things to come.
  • How far along are you?
    7 weeks, 3 days.

What symptoms do you have this week?
Oh that looks good - NOO IT DOESN’T. Lol.
Some dry heaving, I threw up once last week. Tired, some weird stomach feelings.

GYKY: What is your go-to food for nausea?
Fruit has really been helping - plums, peaches, oranges. CARBS. Plain toast with butter, or some brown sugar & cinnamon.

What symptoms do you have this week? Nausea, constipation, bloating, tummy sensitivity

GYKY: What is your go-to food for nausea? I have these almond flour crackers (Costco) that help a lot even though I never actually want to eat them since they are flavorless. Anyone else been craving beans or any other saucy thing like curry?

@theblondebump 100%- I was shocked at how badly I smelled postpartum! Working from home now so trying natural deodorant (you know, because that will make up for my terrible diet, right? ) and I'm not sure how much longer I can hang with it for!
  • @kelseyhh yes on the food sounding good then terrible - hoping in n out still sounds good tomorrow bc it sounded amazing tonight!
  • I don’t smell as bad this time as I did with my last. But postpartum really is worse like @kvh22 said. Mix BO with breast milk that’s dried on you and no deodorant in the world works.

How far along are you? 6+4

What symptoms do you have this week? Tired and nauseous ever now and then. Definitely living in a permanent phase of being hungover. My appetite sucks but I am forcing myself to eat now because I know feeling worse is coming.   I’ve also been getting headaches.

GYKY: What is your go-to food for nausea? Usually cereal or toast or (this one is weird), a sausage biscuit with cheese from McDonalds!

What symptoms do you have this week? Omg the nausea today. I threw up this morning for the first time ever in any of my pregnancies. I called the doc’s office right when they opened and I now have myself a bottle of zophran BUT it’s only moderately helping. Bleh! Major headache all day. Whoever said the hangover feeling...YES. Fuzzy brain, slow, tired. Ugh.

@eahayes @kelseyhh yes for sure on the food sounding good and then completely terrible! Just this weekend I had to tell my hubs - I can’t talk about food, I can smell food, but if you just put it in front of me I can probably eat it 😆

    GYKY: buttered sourdough toast

@theblondebump So glad your US went well!!!!
  • @goldpolkadot You never threw up in previous pregnancies 😲! Amazing though! Hope you feel better. I threw up at 20 weeks with DS & honestly my tummy was never doing so hot lol. I was mostly a dry heaver though... which is sometimes worse.

  • @kelseyyh never!!!! So today it was seriously shocking. I mean don’t get me wrong, mostly curled-in-a-ball with my eyes closed sick, but never actually sick. I can’t even imagine feeling bad all the way to 20 weeks!!! I thought 16 was bad 😂 and ughhhh dry heaving. Girl I’m soooo sorry! Bleh!!
  • @goldpolkadot The 20 weeks was pretty random, I felt good pretty much right away as I neared the second trimester. But that day I did not feel good 😂.

    5+5

What symptoms do you have this week?
Tired, sore breasts, congestion, nausea, weird cravings (yesterday it was a steak and cheese sub)

GYKY: What is your go-to food for nausea?
Preggie drops have been helpful. Those little cheese sandwich crackers have been one of the only things I've consistently wanted to eat so far this pregnancy. And after reading all the fruit suggestions, I'm going to go see if we have any applesauce!
  • I thought I’d share this for all my nauseous friends! I was searching for preggie pops at Target and found these instead. They’re not the most delicious things ever, but they do actually help settle my stomach a bit. I’m including the back of the bag so you can see the ingredients. Sometimes popping one of these in is easier than forcing myself to eat!

  • How far along are you? 6w1d

What symptoms do you have this week? Another one over here for feeling hungover...queasiness, headaches, fuzzy head, tired. My boobs are also super sore still. It's weird, I tend to have some energy in the morning, but by 11-12 I am absolutely wiped out!

GYKY: What is your go-to food for nausea? crackers, pretzels, toast

  • @theblondebump @kvh22 @eahayes I'm so glad I'm not the only one! I have noticed I've been sweating more and I just smell.  I didn't link it to pregnancy but that is so weird!
  • Forgot to mention - I’m a total grouch!!! 😑.

  • How far along are you? 9 weeks today

What symptoms do you have this week? Constipated, sore breasts, nausea 🙃

GYKY: What is your go-to food for nausea?

    Cucumbers!

    Parker Richard born 11/12/17 9lbs 7oz, 22 inches!
  • @kelseyyh OMG me too! I go from wanting cuddles and MH's attention to being ENRAGED about how he chews his food. The mood swings are for REAL.
  • Newest symptom that DH pointed out to me today - I've been crying more haha. I don't feel particularly emotional, but I guess I have been crying a lot lol. Yesterday, I slammed my knee on the coffee table (by accident of course) and I immediately fell over crying lol. I guess in hindsight it sounds pretty dramatic but it REALLY hurt.

Also, since DH and I own a wedding-industry business, September is crazy busy, even with COVID. Before getting pregnant, I was pretty much a workaholic that was always responding to emails at all hours, etc. Now, I'm trying really hard to listen to my body and rest because I am SO exhausted. DH has honestly been so so amazing at taking care of me (doing 90% off the housework/grocery shopping/cooking) and even regularly tells me how much he appreciates that I'm growing our baby, but in the last day or two he was really not listening to me about work. I told him that I was setting boundaries during pregnancy to not work, even responding to emails and such, after normal business hours but he kept trying to get me to do scheduling and emails and stuff at like 10 pm last night. I finally broke down crying and told him that I need him to listen to me more about being tired. That I'm not being dramatic, it's literally like when you have the flu and your body just CAN'T move off the couch. That's how I feel almost 24/7. He apologized and totally understood, but I guess I can't blame him for saying "You definitely are pregnant, your crying is up 1000%!" LOL

Having a HUGE sushi craving.. but DH points out I would prob feel so sick afterwards since I can mostly just have the fried stuff!
  • @theblondebump - glad he was so receptive! I've described it to my husband as the worst kind of jet lag... where I feel SO nauseous and groggy and terrible ALL the time (and trying to work through it)
  • How far along are you? 8 weeks

What symptoms do you have this week? RLP, sore boobs, pretty much just feeling like trash most of the time. By 3pm, i can barely keep my eyes open.

GYKY: What is your go-to food for nausea? This past week it was Kings Hawaiian Sweet Rolls... haha. I have also been eating more ice cream than normal this over the last week!

I totally forgot about the sweating and smelly BO with my first pregnancy! So far with this one, i haven't noticed it... maybe I won't be plagued with smelliness this time.
  • Is anyone else experiencing a racing heart? I remember feeling a bit like this with my other pregnancies but it feels so much worse this time. I can't tell if it's normal racing heart/increased pulse/bloodflow or if this is another crazy withdrawal symptom from quitting my other meds cold turkey. I have an appt with my psychiatrist this week but woooweeee this is tough.
  • @juliebird6 I had that yesterday!! But I haven't had coffee in 4+ weeks (haven't been able to stomach it and I used to drink 1-2 cups every day). I drank a bottled coffee drink yesterday and I could not believe how jittery I got and how fast my heart was beating!
  • @juliebird6 yes on the racing heart! It's been freaking me out because I remember being really out of shape by the end of pregnancy last time and exhausted just walking up the stairs. This time it's starting soooo much earlier. It doesn't make sense this time because I've only been lazy (exhausted and sick) for two weeks so I shouldn't be so out of shape. Now just getting out of bed makes my heart rate jump to 120+. I messaged my doctor but haven't heard back yet.
