@babywiik I’m afraid I’ve never them. They always fall out and just don’t work for me. I think some people use them though. I’m not sure if it’s breast size dependent(?). I’m a B-D during breastfeeding times. I produce a solid amount. I’ve often coped with leakage by wearing sweaters?
I forgot to say the most important thing for me for delivery and postpartum at the hospital was having my toes painted. It was the only thing (for me) that was put together and having them done brought me a considerable amount of happiness. 🤣❤️
@babywiik I used disposable. I only really had to use them at night and only for the first few weeks or so. They were a bit tricky to get to stay in place, but still better than nothing for just avoiding waking up due to wet bras/clothes.
@babywiik I actually used both. Disposables in the beginning (the first month or so) because I leaked a lot and then reusable when things settled down but I would still leak a little from the side I wasn't nursing on. If you're on the fence, I would say get a few of each to see what you like and works best for you. 😊
@babywiik I leaked too much for reusable... It caused me to chafe and have more irritation so I used disposable... I used it the whole time I breastfed and I never like attached them to my bra, I just stuck them down in my bra to hold them in place.
@babywiik another vote for disposable! There is enough laundry to worry about with a newborn and I’m pretty sure I wouldve lost them at some point.
That being said the first couple weeks, I had gel cooling breast pads that I would wear to help with the initial soreness. Those things are the bomb. 🥳
Thank you all for all this info!!! I’ve been listening to birth stories and such so I realize 4th trimester won’t be a cake walk. It’s nice to hear from ST+Ms what is helpful and needed.
Special shoutout to @auburnvelvet86 for the well organized and researched list!!! I’m such a researcher about this sort of stuff so it’s nice to know you’ve already done the heavy work 🙃

@babywiik I preferred reusable and having 7 daytime and 7 nighttime on hand to do laundry weekly. I highly recommend bamboobies, they are so soft and worth the cost. I had bought some random brand off Amazon initially that had good reviews but they were scratchy.
@kelk5 I also liked Bamboobies, especially because they're so flexible, but they weren't absorbent enough for me most of the time/I would soak through em pretty quick.

@babywiik I preferred the reusable Bamboobies ones as they were softer for me and I ended up having tons of the disposable ones left over. I want to say I had at least two pairs of the overnights and maybe 4 for daytime?
This pack has 3 daytime and 1 overnight but there are a bunch of different combinations on Amazon, and I think they may have been cheaper at Buy Buy Baby with the 20% coupon
STM, vaginal birth with 2nd degree and labial tears. The stitching part was sharp and painful even if they did numb me and I had just given birth ha
Take some nice toiletries to the hospital for your first shower after birth, it's a start to feel normal again.
Take an extra bag to fill with all the hospital supplies that you've already paid for once they enter your room.
Medications on hand at home: ibuprofen (advil) and acetaminophen (tylenol) to alternate and a stool softener. I used the baby tracker app to track my meds too
I bought ginormous pads but really only ended up using normal overnight ones. Dermaplast spray, tucks/hemorrhoid pads to layer on your pad like salami (someone used that reference in my F'19 BMB), peri bottle to spray when you pee, so it doesn't burn. I had a basket of these supplies set up in the 2 bathrooms I used in the house so I didn't have to drag them back and forth
For nursing: good water bottle you can open 1 handed, snacks!, nipple cream (i loved Earth Mama), and an IBCLC on speed dial - kidding sort of, do reach out to a LC sooner rather than later if you're having issues. We're always here to help but not true professionals
