@eahayes yes! protein is always the WORST for me too. Bleh bleh. @bblair24 nope nope nope @cagncoo12 I usually LOVE everything Pioneer Woman! Recipes are a little labor intensive usually but delicious and always make a ton of leftovers. This time I actually split the recipe into 2 & stuck half in the freezer - I can't remember who reco'd it but someone here mentioned something about prepping meals for 1st tri when all food prep sucks and I DID IT - so thank you, whoever you were (I can't remember, sorry!)
I'm so tired, I'm on meds for post concussion syndrome that already made me sleepy, so the sleepiness is horrible, and I can't stop peeing long enough to nap. My nausea is very on and off. My cramps are getting to the point of just being annoying. I just got to the sore boob stage, and boy do they hurt. I'm 5 weeks today.
I’ve dealt with pretty bad IBS for the past 11 or 12 years. My pregnancies with the girls almost seemed to “cure” me for the length of my pregnancy. Something about the hormones I guess? Well so far this pregnancy is NOT a magical one evidently because I’ve been struggling this week 💩 My parents called this evening to catch up - we won’t see them this week because they’re going on vacation with my brother and SIL and their kids. Luckily they mentioned hanging up because I was about to be like “hey guys, I need to go before I poop myself! See ya later!” 😂😭
@bblair24 Ugh, I feel your pain. I suffer from IBS too. With my last pregnancy I had to take stool softeners. Now I've been going 💩 literally non stop all day every day since my BFP. It's horrible, I'm sick of it. Thank God the toilet paper shortage is over.
@goldpolkadot 100%! With my son I think I forced smoothies to get veggies and protein in, with this baby I'm like NOPE! they will be grown off tater tots and bagels for the first few months!
@thedomesticgeek oh no, I’m sorry you’re struggling too! It really is awful. I had the same thought about toilet paper 😂 if this had happened back in March we’d be in trouble haha! Hopefully it’ll slow down for both of us soon. I tell myself that it has to but there’s really no logic in IBS.
So I have been struggling with constant nausea all day every day starting at 6weeks and started throwing up maybe 1-2 times a day in the last weeks I am 8 weeks with no appetite but still finding time to get in prenatal and some carbs someone told me today that was not normal and I need to go to the dr... this is my first pregnancy but everything I’ve read or heard from others is that it is normal 1st tri terror. I have my 1st appointment on Monday... is this concerning? Should I be worried to wait till Monday?
Well it’s 2:51am my time. I can’t sleep and I just had to take my wedding rings off because they were so tight and uncomfortable. I have been lucky in my previous pregnancies and did not have to ever deal with swelling until well into 3rd tri. I’m 4+2! Anyone else experiencing this?
@grilledcheeezin Have you tried any interventions? Unfortunately, nausea and vomiting is common in first tri. Definitely talk to your doctor about it. In the meantime try to stay hydrated! If drinking is hard for you maybe try some electrolyte popsicles. I read an article about freezing Gatorade and then eating it with a spoon. Sounded interesting and I’m tucking that one away in case the next few weeks get rough. Ginger and citrus sometimes helps ease nausea. Good luck and I hope it eases up for you soon!
@grilledcheeezin I think it’s fine to wait until your appointment tomorrow to address it. I think it’s unfortunately pretty normal!
With my first pregnancy I had gone for several days without feeling like eating much and I called the triage nurse. She explained that the baby would be fine - they’re little leeches that take what they need. If you’re still taking prenatals, then your baby is going to get whatever nutrients he/she needs at this point. The main concern is you and your lack of energy when you can’t eat. So basically she told me that even if I feel like crap it’s still okay. I was like, well...thanks? 😂 But try not to worry too much about it. Hang in there! ❤️
@grilledcheeezin umm that's absolutely normal. Just b/c they're normal, doesn't mean you can't do anything to help, though. Maybe that's what the person meant? Idk. All I'd say is talk to the doctor about what you can do to manage your symptoms. I learned between my first pregnancy and my second that I didn't need to suffer just because it was normal (and I never throw up, just feel nauseous). I took B6 3x/day with my second pregnancy and plan to do the same this time. Bananas are also high in B6. B6+unisom is the equivalent of diclegis which many ppl take and there are stronger versions and/or zofran for the throwing up I think. Many, many options to help but unfortunately these are "good" symptoms WRT healthy baby.
Thank you guys so much for the responses I feel a lot better now. Seemed like she was referring it meant something was wrong and I got really nervous. I’ll be trying all these hacks ESP the frozen Gatorade one. Sounds kind of appealing actually!
