Re: August Symptoms

  • Back pain has started up here.  I think I need to start wearing pants with more support than the lounge pants I've been wearing.  Also I'm going to start up prenatal yoga and I'm hoping that will help a bit.

On a positive note - I'm feeling her move around a lot more.  At my last visit the doctor reminded me that movement would really pick up around the time of the anatomy scan and she was right!

  • Crazy movement here too, mostly just yesterday and today. I think baby has positioned itself with its feet right under my rib cage. It keeps kicking up into that area and having a grand old time. Also saw my belly move for the first time finally!!

Less fun symptoms are so.much.burping and fullness and neck pain / headaches.
  • I pulled a muscle in my back chasing after DD with the iPad so my parents could FaceTime with her for her birthday.  Too much crouching + balance-altering baby bump = ouch  :s  I think some prenatal yoga is in my future after I feel better.
  • I finally have heartburn, so check that one off the list.
  • Another yeast infection yay! Literally have had a yeast infection like 50 of the last 60 days 😑. Wtf.

  • @laurenspdx Ugh, that sounds like torture. And they’re sure it isn’t BV?!

When is this magical burst of energy supposed to happen? Because I’m still waiting...
  • My H felt baby for the first time last night...little guy was really rockin and rollin...he must’ve liked the ice cream bar I had 🤣🥰

  • @cassafrass15 Yep, I went in to get tested because it just doesn’t go away ever so it thought it might be BV, but they confirmed it wasn’t. Maybe TMI but they said DTD can cause them more in pregnancy because it changes pH. I just want to be better 😩
  • @laurenspdx ugh I’m so sorry. I can completely empathize. A few years ago I was in a similar situation... constant yeast infections for months. I wasn’t prego at the time, so maybe treatment is different.... but I could only take diflucan as I was allergic to all topical treatments. My Dr started to get worried about me taking regular higher levels of anti-fungals so regularly. I was able to find one topical treatment that worked (I can’t remember the name to save myself) but I did a major revision of my diet, reducing sugars/ carbs and eating TONs of yogurt. We discussed it was likely due to hormones and eventually it came under control. I eat yogurt literally everyday now and have been able to keep them totally under control. OK, long story short, I hope you can find a way to control them. Yeast infections are unbearable.
  • @jchpg Thank you! I have a feeling I may be asked to cut carbs and sugar soon. I’m a total carb addict so I don’t know which is worse 😂
  • @laurenspdx I’m so sorry! I’ve found taking acidophilus helps keep mine (mostly) at bay. I used to get them frequently, as well.

Anyone else experiencing pregnancy rhinitis? I haven’t asked my OB yet, but the horrible nasal congestion and nasty Postnasal drip that I’ve been experiencing for the past couple of months are now accompanied by an occasional (like 5-10 times a day) dry cough. It’s so annoying.
  • @cassafrass15 I don't have a wet congestion, but more a dry congestion. I wear Breathe Right strips at night, and every morning blow my nose and it's all bloody :/

  • @cassafrass15 Thanks for the tip! I’ve also had a stuffy / running / bloody nose for months. It extra sucks because it does give me a cough in the mornings which I’m always terrified is COVID.

@laurenspdx oh no on your infection! I hope it went away again?? I’ve had the two and they’ve both been brutal.

@cassafrass15 @bearmomma1 also having rhinitis, occasional bloody nose, daily sneezing fits - and coupled with some heartburn, I’ve had a cough but it’s so infrequent and I can tell aggravated by HB. I also just tell DH daily it’s COVID and he just rolls his eyes.

other daily occurrence now - insomnia. Hits between 2-4am almost every night when I wake up for one reason or another, and I can’t fall back sleep for a couple of hours. Is making mornings exhausting - thank god for wfh.

I am getting a lot of online shopping done, though. The only benefit (maybe curse in DH’s eyes) Haha
  • Guys this nausea is back!  I thought we were done with you friend!  I haven't gotten sick again, but just feel super sick all the time.

@shelmcclel. I take a half a Unisom and that seems to help a lot.  (I am taking it with the B6 for nausea).  But it is super helpful for the many late night bathroom trips.  Normally I would just stay awake for hours at a time afterwards, but I think this helps.  Also online shopping can be fun!!
  • @laurenspdx after a few weeks of relief, I feel another yeast infection coming on..at least I still have medicine from before! ughh this is my 3rd of this pregnancy.

  • I cut caffeine out of my diet because it was causing my heartburn. If I need it I’ll have it once and a while. Also my hunger is extreme, it went from
    nonexistent to I want everything.
  • @conni0205 I agree with the change in appetite!

Heartburn day and night is my current struggle! I had the same with my son but this seems to be starting even earlier. Has anyone found any good remedies for heartburn?! Tums just isn't cutting it!
  • Is anyone else having BH contractions yet? I think I just started having them last night.
  • @bearmomma1 Ah nooooooo!!! I’m sorry that sucks! Hopefully it’ll go away easy.

I’m almost done treating my most recent one. Hoping it sticks this time. I’ve added in a probiotic yogurt drink every day too 🤞🏻
  • @bearmomma1 @laurenspdx @shelmcclel Thanks for making me feel better ladies, I was freaked out that it was COVID-related and not pregnancy-related! The nose strips are a genius idea! I cough more in the morning, too, but some throughout the day. It might also be aggravated by my acid reflux. Ugh.

@dlock77 I take two OTC Pepcid AC (Famotidine) pills per day, morning and evening, to keep my heartburn under control.
  • I feel soooooo full every night. I am not eating a ton (probably slightly less than normal), but I often have a hard time taking my prenatal (it's a gummy) because I'm so full. It's 3:30 am and I last ate about 8 hours ago and my stomach feels so full I could burst. I am sure it's because of the extra pressure on my stomach from making room for baby, but what an uncomfortable feeling to have every day.

@KateBee Yes, I am sometimes having Braxton Hicks. I don't remember exactly when they started as I really only notice if I touch my abdomen while having them, but I have noticed it a handful of times over the past couple of weeks. It seems earlier than last time (but maybe I just didn't notice them).
  • @gingkomama this full feeling is such a bummer when I have yummy dessert I want to eat but can’t because of feeling so full 😋
These baby kicks are really turning up a notch. I woke at 5:30 to go pee and can’t fall back asleep because baby boy is having a dance party.

@KateBee I think I’ve had them 2-3 times over the past week, but I’m an FTM so I’m not really sure! It’s like a cramp/pain that just sticks for like 15-20 seconds. I can usually walk it off.

I slept a full 8 hours with only 1 brief wake up when my dog licked my face at 2 or 3am. I fell right back asleep though, thank god! Feel like a new person today.

I also think I felt a couple of kicks externally last night - I was trying to see if you can feel it so I can get DH to try, but I’m not sure if it’s just Bc I feel it inside, lol. She’s definitely ramping up her movements!
  • Over the past two days, baby’s kicks have turned from “I think that’s one, but it could be gas” to “holy crap, this thing is trying to bust out and escape!” It’s getting strong in there!
  • @laurenspdx I am in the same boat over here.  We were watching a movie and he kicked so hard that I actually jumped.  My husband thought I had a Charlie horse or was scared by the movie (it was a comedy, so not sure about the scared part).  It is reassuring to feel though, but calm down friend!
  • I can't even sit in the rocking chair without feeling sick...and my in-laws want us to come to visit them camping...an island 20 min. Boat ride. I get sea sick on a normal day.
But happy note, while the kicks aren't as much as some of yours :) baby kicks every day.
  • Here’s a weird one... anyone else have a ton of saliva? Like an uncomfortable amount? I think I read that that’s a real thing 😂
  • @laurenspdx. That is totally a real thing!!
  • Insomnia is real and nesting. Also if I play to hard with DS then I get really sore and need to stretch my inner thighs.
  • Having a ton of upper back pain, when I sit in my desk chair I feel like the underwire of my bra is pressing down and causing like a shortness of breath. Been feeling a lot of vertigo as well.  Doctor said I really need to push the water.
  • @lindsaym2016
I get upper back pain when I sit up straight for too long. My boobs are pretty heavy so I end up hunched over a lot while I sit. This is probably why I have such crummy posture.
Perhaps putting a lumbar pillow behind your lower back will help you lean back a little so the bra doesn’t dig in.  When I take long road trips (normally I drive cross country once a year) my back starts hurting and I put a little pillow behind my Lower back and it helps a lot.

New bra might help?  I just ordered a few new ones since None of my bras fit anymore I went up a cup and a band size  since getting pregnant.  I have an unusual Size so I order off this site called barenecessities.com . Theyre not cheap, but They’re having a pretty good  sale today And have sizes that run from 28a-j to 56 a-j with and without wires.
  • Well I’m officially at the 2x per day Prilosec level of heart burn! My poor throat/esophagus.
  • @lindsaym2106 Have you tried switching to a wireless bra? During my first pregnancy I started to feel uncomfortable with the wire and switched and have never looked back! I'm so much more comfortable and can move more easily without a wire.
  • I can’t stop waking up on my back. I wake up about 6 times a night to roll over and switch sides with my big ol pregnancy pillow, but every time I wake up I’m on my back.

  • @bearmomma1 I do this too lol! I just make sure my upper body is elevated a little so I’m not flat on my back lol

I got my first stretch mark today 😩 it’s right between the two holes I have from my belly button ring lol so not only does it look super weird because of the empty belly button piercing but now my belly button is starting to turn inside out and there’s a nice red stretch mark to point to it lol my friend said her belly button looked like a cats asshole when she was pregnant and I can totally see it now and I can’t get that phrase out of my head hahaha
  • This heartburn is killer, especially at night. I’ve had to start sleeping propped up because it’s so bad when I lay down.

This is gross but, the other night, before I added more pillows, I kept waking up feeling like I had thrown up in my mouth 😩
  • @tryingktogku a cats asshole 😂🤣

  • @laurenspdx Same with the waking up with reflux in my mouth. That’s when my OB recommended omeprazole OTC. It’s been life changing and I haven’t had heartburn or reflux since!
