@acleverusername yeah I definitely don't have any of the usual signs like irregular periods, difficulty with weight etc and have always had clear positive OPKs so maybe it's just some other hormonal imbalance kind of thing. And nothing like the pearl strings on the USs. DH likes to point out my "side burns" but it's not that excessive and appears more visible most like cuz my hair is brown. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with my body rejecting his genetic material and preventing implantation.

I’m having a weird busy day so gonna post a quick update & come back later to interact.
We are still a no-go for egg retrieval: it’s slightly delayed again. The cysts/runaway follies are still a question mark. They both grew 4mm since my last appointment—despite being on BCP. At the first baseline appointment I’d been off BCP for 2 days, estradiol came back at 22. This time I’d only been off for 14 hours, it came back at 260! Too high to proceed. Dr & nurse aren’t sure what’s going on. We still got all the meds & the plan is to wait till CD1, get estradiol tested on CD2, & as long as that number is in the correct range then I start meds on CD3. I’m having stronger left-sided pain today. This is what my ovulation pain usually feels like. This has been a bizarre experience. I feel certain that the BCP messed this all up. BC always gave me the opposite results that everyone else had: it would cause me to have acne, weight gain, mood swings, PMS—all the things I never experienced when not on BCP. I’m just too sensitive to it, just like I always was...
So now we play the waiting game, which should be the unofficial name of IF treatment.
@keikilove hmmmmm it's so weird what's going on with your follies and cysts. It's like your body wants to move forward so badly and is being super impatient!! Are you putting you back on BC then?

AFM, today's WTF moment: our insurance approval expired, so our RE's office is rushing to get this approved. Otherwise, we are going to have to put this on hold AGAIN. Sonofabeesh.
@keikilove nah I'm pretty sure it's the official name 😆😩 FX things work themselves out and you can get IVF started
@emeraldduchess one nonsense at a time please! How long was it approved for? I mean everything else could get extended due to Covid why not a f'ing egg retrieval!

@emeraldduchess Seriously I feel like I would be at the point of laughing just to keep from crying for all the hoops you have jumped through. I hope it all gets straightened out soon.
@keikilove Don't you love/absolutely hate it when the doctors are so sure and then your body goes let me see how I can prove them wrong in so many ways! I hope your follies start getting with the program, don't they know they aren't supposed to have a mind of their own!
@inthewoods23 right?! I’m definitely a fan of the first part going much faster! Pretty sure this is going to be the longest TWW ever though! Haha. Oh well, just gotta be patient! I think that definitely makes sense to redo BW and SA since it’s been so long and you’ve both made changes since then! Hopefully submitting all the stuff won’t be too difficult...I would think your other clinic should be able to send it over to them.
@ramzlau thanks, friend! That gif is perfection...I’m hoping that’s exactly what happens later today! Yay for your numbers coming back above the benchmark and being able to get off the bench!! I’m hopeful for you too! I am not on Metformin now, but was for over a year for PCOS, I don’t have diabetes. I didn’t have any major side-effects with it (apparently it can cause some serious gastrointestinal stuff, but I was lucky to avoid that). I felt like it wasn’t doing anything to help me as far as regulating my cycle and my RE said it would be fine to stop, so I stopped several months ago. @acleverusername thanks, friend! Hopefully I can keep up the positive attitude through the TWW and not go too crazy!
@kpearse99 ah friend, thank you...I’m so lucky to have your support and optimism!! 💜 @bbrahmbhatt thanks lady!! I hope the TWW flies by for both of us!!
@keikilove ugh, I’m so sorry that your body is still throwing curveballs! That is super frustrating that the BC didn’t do what it was supposed to! I hope CD1 arrives soon though and you can finally start the meds for your ER! @emeraldduchess oh no!! Glad your clinic is putting a rush on the approval...hopefully this won’t delay you even more!!
@keikilove I’m so sorry you are
stuck in limbo. The waiting part of IF treatment is so so hard. I hope you are
able to move forward soon.
@bluetickgal Good luck today, crossing everything for you!
@ramzlau Congrats on being off the bench and the awesome
AMH!
@akoros Wow that is a lot to go through in a few months, I
am so sorry for both of your losses. I’m really hoping your August is leaps and
bounds better.
@emeraldduchess Ugh that is sooo annoying about your
insurance, I hope your RE’s office is able to come through.
AFM, thanks to all for the well wishes for the HSG. I am glad I was expecting the worst because I found the actual procedure to be almost painless, just like very mild period cramps, but then I had slightly worse cramps last night so I was glad my nurse told me I could take Advil (both before and after) since that generally works better for me than Tylenol. I also spotted a bit more than I expected, but I think AF may have still been somewhat lingering even on CD7 post retrieval. My thyroid blood test yesterday came back fine but my doctor is on vacation until the 10th and likes to personally review all the HSG images, so I don't think I will hear back on that until next week and then will hopefully get the official green light to transfer next cycle! Of course I am googling HSG images like a crazy person and seeing if what I saw on mine seems to be "normal," which I think it does, lol.

@keikilove oh man, the saga continues! I hope the RE can figure out what's happening with your ovaries and you can get this show on the road ASAP. BCP is all sorts of evil.
@legallykate I'm so happy your HSG wasn't too uncomfortable. I guess it's best to prepare for the worst, although the stress of doing that doesn't really help. I hope your doc clears you for transfer next cycle. FX!
@bluetickgal will be thinking of you today and wishing you all of the success.
Thank goodness for the talented Labcorp phlebotomist who had zero trouble getting into my vein on the first try and filling all 6 vials for the battery of tests. No joke, the last two times someone attempted a blood draw they gave up, and the IV a few weeks ago took forever and multiple tries in various locations until they got it in. Yes, I drink water.
Two of the tests came back super quick: Vitamin D levels are up (45 ng/mL, which is up from 29 ng/ML a year ago and 12 ng/mL six months before that, so supplements are working), and I'm not diabetic. Neither a big surprise, but good to see that those are normal. The rest, including a COVID antibody test I asked them to throw in for kicks, should come back in a week or so
@bluetickgal I hope everything went smoothly with your IUI today!! Sending all the sparkly rainbow vibes!
@akoros I can sympathize with the awful veins. Whenever I've had to have an IV it's been terrible for the technician.
@keikilove you can sit with me on the waiting game train (that's not moving...hah!). It sucks when we've already been through so much and then our bodies decide to pull new shenanigans.
Still no period for me. Seriously, WTF, ute? I went in today for a TSH test because our insurance will probably require it before re-re-approving IVF. They had a terrible time with the needle and my arm still hurts.
@legallykate so glad the HSG wasn’t as bad as you were expecting! Glad your thyroid numbers were good! Hopefully you hear back from your RE next week and all is good! @akoros glad your blood draw went well and everything that has come back so far is good! Hope you get the rest of the results quickly and hopefully with some answers!
@emeraldduchess love the sparkly rainbow vibes!! 💜 Ugh, so sorry you are still waiting for AF! Good thinking on getting the tests done now, but so sorry the blood draw left you sore!
Thanks friends for all the love and positive vibes!! IUI went well!! I’m super crampy now, but hopefully good things are happening! DH’s count was really good (I’ll put in spoiler below). Now the wait begins!!
@acleverusername I think the rates are the same: about 20% likelihood of conception per cycle. Also, found some more graphs & things to go along with the posts & questions from last week. The first one is how much “stuff” one should take of the recommended supplements. The person who created this also put which amounts to take per trimester. Impressive!
The next one is the write-up of the ISWTE recommendations for those undergoing IF treatment.
Here’s the video link from the doctor called the Egg Whisperer. She names some things I hadn’t heard of before:
Some of the things named by the Egg Whisperer were listed in the chart I shared last week, which I will share again below for good measure & in case you aren’t already in overload mode.😆
@bluetickgal So happy for you with that encouraging sperm count!!FX the cramping is a good sign!
@emeraldduchess I seriously cannot believe the s*** we both have been hit with during this IF process. This train is rusting to the tracks!😩 Thanks for inviting me to sit with you.😊 At least we can commiserate! And wtf is up with no AF?! I’m in the same boat: this feels like a sick dark comedy at this point.
@akoros Yay for good blood results so far! At least you can check those things off your list of worries.
@legallykate Woohoo, so glad the HSG wasn’t too bad for you!! And glad your TSH came back normal as well. Hope your dr can interpret your results for you sooner rather than later!
My saga continues below in spoiler. TL;DR: I’m finally fed up with the obstacles constantly coming our way. My state has reinstated the 14-day quarantine for any travel between islands. I’m freaking out about whether this will halt treatment again.
So, I kind of lost my mind yesterday & posted this update in the Win/Wine/Whine thread because I couldn’t think straight. Also because when I saw everyone’s wine comments on that thread on Wednesday, I was craving wine like crazy. Anyway, it finally hit me that we have been playing this IVF waiting game for over a year and the ridiculousness finally got to me!!! MH & I were there at the IVF clinic earlier this week & realized that it was last May (2019!) that we had our first appointment there. And last July that his insurance came back w the denial for IVF because “patient is able to conceive on her own”—even though they were all ending in chemical pregnancies. EVIL. This new insurance finally approved us for IVF in March 2020, but it’s been a non-stop s***show since then thanks to Covid. My update from Win/Wine/Whine thread:
UGHHH!!!! Don’t know where else to whine about this so reviving this thread from yesterday! Some of you know that I have to take a short flight to see my Reproductive Endocrinologist. Well, the Mayors here just got the Governor to put limits back on inter-island travel: anyone who travels from one island to another has to quarantine for 14 days. I’m PRAYING that there’s some medical exemption in place for this reinstated rule. Last time they did this all IVF treatment was halted for 3 months. Sooo, I broke my diet & ate some carbs & some sugar, & today I even took 2 little sips of rosé because this has me stressing!!! 😳😬🤯😤😭😩
Really, Universe?!?! Really????
And to top it ALL off: no AF anywhere to be seen!😭😭😭 My left side is still cramping, I feel bloated, my boobs hurt, but I stopped the BCP on Monday! Wtf is really going on? I’m not the crying type, but if I was, there would be buckets of tears right now.😡
@bluetickgal So happy to hear the IUI went well, hope the
TWW flies by for you!
@keikilove Ugh I’m so sorry you are dealing with the stress
of potential delays. I really hope they have medical exemptions and you are
able to keep moving forward. And your uterus is on my sh*tlist. I think you for
sure deserved some carbs and wine

Oh @keikilove I'm so sorry Maybe you need to try and let yourself have a good cry? This is the sort of "break down" I had last month with DH (Not over IVF but just over this whole TTC process and journey) and I decided my heart just couldn't take these ups and downs anymore. I was so tired of putting my life on hold. So, I know what you're going through and feeling. These frustrations and emotions are so real. So very very real. And they are consuming! I know that REs put lots of IVF patients on BCP but doesn't that mess with your body's natural system? Couldn't that be why AF hasn't arrived yet? I dunno... I'm just trying to think here!! Maybe AF will arrive if you and YH HIO! That's what happened to me this morning hahaha we DTD and then I started spotting (almost a week after my boobs started to hurt).

@legallykate@emeraldduchess@kpearse99 Aaaaww, thanks friends!! Emerald, your gif almost made me cry. How I feel right now: @kpearse99 I would have a good cry if I could. It just doesn’t come natural to me. If this gets worse regarding stopping the cycle completely, it will probably finally come out in tears. And yes, you’re likely right about the BCP. The thing that makes me so upset is that I had told the nurse several times that I wanted to avoid BCP if at all possible. She said it wasn’t possible because they use it to schedule my cycle for the embryology lab. And since I come from out of town the doctor says it’s way better for timing, and that the protocol she created for me will keep me from accidentally ovulating while I’m away from their office. Honestly, I still don’t see why BCP is necessary for any of that. And this time—if I can still travel for treatment—they’re going to have me start meds as soon as my estradiol comes back in the normal range. So no more BCP. So did I ever need it in the first place?😔
@keikilove Probably not, but in their eyes (at that time) yes. It was something that was part of their normal protocol and so they wanted to move forward with what they had planned. I think they learned, over the last 2 cycles, that this is not what your body wants or needs (Yes, they should have listened to you from the beginning BUT at least they learned from this mistake of theirs) and adjusted their plan to just follow what your body wants and needs. Me being me, I'm going to try and find the silver lining in all of this for you... you know I believe everything happens for a reason, maybe the universe knew of the upcoming possible shut down of your inter-Island travel restrictions and didn't want you and your body to be fully ready to go only for the IVF procedure to get cancelled due to the restrictions/shut downs. Maybe all of these additional set backs are just setting you up for the perfect transfer.

@kpearse99 You are the absolute best.💗(((Insert hugs here))) Everything you say is true. It’s reminding me of the finance lady at the clinic warning me that if Covid brought things to a halt halfway through my cycle, that the clinic would have to cancel all cycles completely. And then insurance could say that I used up my one lifetime chance at covered IVF and I’d have to pay for it OOP in the future. So I guess at least right now I'm so lucky that I’m not halfway through the meds & freaking out about whether it will be cancelled after all. That would be the worst!
@keikilove UGH! I am so frustrated for you! I'm so sorry you're going through all of that. With the RE not listening, the BCP screwing with your cycle and emotions, stupid insurance worries and COVID shutting everything down is really the crappy icing on the sh*tcake. I feel like you have definitely earned a few carbs and sips of wine. I really hope the universe gives you a break soon. Sending you lots of positive thoughts and .

@acleverusername I’ve seen figures that say that IUI can increase your chances by up to 5% compared to TI alone, but that’s still not as much as I would have thought!
@keikilove thanks, friend! Ugh, I hate that you are still in this limbo and uncertainty! I’m with @kpearse99 though, maybe this was a blessing in disguise with travel bans and possible RE closures going back into effect! I still hate it for you though...you’ve already waited so long!! I hope you get some clarity on the travel bans soon! That is so good they aren’t going to be putting you back on BC again, sounds like that is definitely not what your body needs (as you already knew)!!
@keikilove I am so so sorry that you're in this limbo! How frustrating that doctors refuse to listen to your experience with medication because there is a standard to follow! What @kpearse99 said is 💯thought; putting a cycle on hold now is so much better than mid-way cancellation and I'm so happy that you can see that too. Not much more I can do or say other then send you lots of virtual support hugs and gifs.
I'm so sorry for not being present this week. I kept expecting my PGT results, but they never came. Today I finally called the office to see what was going on. I talked to the Embryologist, and he said my genetic testing results were inconclusive. They are trying to talk to the study to see if they can transfer an inconclusive embryo or not. More than likely, they will say we have to thaw the embryo and re-biopsy it. It might not survive that. I'm feeling pretty defeated right now. I know I'll get through it, but right now I'm just sad.
Anyway, just wanted to update you all. I will try to be more present next week!
@shoogapoff I'm so sorry for that news. Sending you sooo many hugs I'm really hoping the only reason you will be thawing that embryo is for transfer!

@shoogapoff I am so sorry for this whole stressful situation. What you are going through is so hard, it sounds very disappointing and sad. Hang in there friend, I am sending you positive thoughts for a miracle outcome.💗💗💗
@shoogapoff I'm so sorry you are dealing with that stress and uncertainty. I really hope they let you transfer it after all or that it does just fine with the thaw and the results are conclusive and positive the second time around. Sending you all the hugs and good vibes.

AFM, today's WTF moment: our insurance approval expired, so our RE's office is rushing to get this approved. Otherwise, we are going to have to put this on hold AGAIN. Sonofabeesh.
@emeraldduchess one nonsense at a time please! How long was it approved for? I mean everything else could get extended due to Covid why not a f'ing egg retrieval!

@keikilove Don't you love/absolutely hate it when the doctors are so sure and then your body goes let me see how I can prove them wrong in so many ways! I hope your follies start getting with the program, don't they know they aren't supposed to have a mind of their own!
@acleverusername thanks, friend! Hopefully I can keep up the positive attitude through the TWW and not go too crazy!
@bbrahmbhatt thanks lady!! I hope the TWW flies by for both of us!!
@emeraldduchess oh no!! Glad your clinic is putting a rush on the approval...hopefully this won’t delay you even more!!
@keikilove I’m so sorry you are stuck in limbo. The waiting part of IF treatment is so so hard. I hope you are able to move forward soon.
@bluetickgal Good luck today, crossing everything for you!
@ramzlau Congrats on being off the bench and the awesome AMH!
@akoros Wow that is a lot to go through in a few months, I am so sorry for both of your losses. I’m really hoping your August is leaps and bounds better.
@emeraldduchess Ugh that is sooo annoying about your insurance, I hope your RE’s office is able to come through.
Of course I am googling HSG images like a crazy person and seeing if what I saw on mine seems to be "normal," which I think it does, lol.Me: 37, MH: 38; Married August 2017

@legallykate I'm so happy your HSG wasn't too uncomfortable. I guess it's best to prepare for the worst, although the stress of doing that doesn't really help. I hope your doc clears you for transfer next cycle. FX!

@emeraldduchess Seriously?! That is ridiculous! I'm hoping the RE is able to get it rushed through.
@legallykate I'm glad your HSG wasn't as traumatic as expected. FX for good news and FET next cycle!
@bluetickgal sending you today.
Two of the tests came back super quick: Vitamin D levels are up (45 ng/mL, which is up from 29 ng/ML a year ago and 12 ng/mL six months before that, so supplements are working), and I'm not diabetic. Neither a big surprise, but good to see that those are normal. The rest, including a COVID antibody test I asked them to throw in for kicks, should come back in a week or so
@keikilove you can sit with me on the waiting game train (that's not moving...hah!).
@akoros glad your blood draw went well and everything that has come back so far is good! Hope you get the rest of the results quickly and hopefully with some answers!

Some of the things named by the Egg Whisperer were listed in the chart I shared last week, which I will share again below for good measure & in case you aren’t already in overload mode.😆
TL;DR: I’m finally fed up with the obstacles constantly coming our way. My state has reinstated the 14-day quarantine for any travel between islands. I’m freaking out about whether this will halt treatment again.
I’m not the crying type, but if I was, there would be buckets of tears right now.😡
@akoros Yay for good test results so far, FX the rest are the same!
@emeraldduchess Come on AF!
@bluetickgal So happy to hear the IUI went well, hope the TWW flies by for you!
@keikilove Ugh I’m so sorry you are dealing with the stress of potential delays. I really hope they have medical exemptions and you are able to keep moving forward. And your uterus is on my sh*tlist. I think you for sure deserved some carbs and wine

@kpearse99 I would have a good cry if I could.
