Re: All Due Date Check-in 7/26

  • I think the big check in is fine! Especially with the speed of this BMB 😂

    Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 3/14, 7+1

    FTM/STM/STM+: STM, my 5th pg

    Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: finding out

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: blueberry or raspberry depending on app

Upcoming appointments: 8/5 at 8+3 for my second U/S. If all good then I get to go to my regular OB.

How are you feeling?: symptoms seem to be mild one day and terrible the next. Nausea and breast soreness. Unable to sleep.

Rants/Raves: rant: didn’t have nausea with DS, but wow with this one it’s been pretty bad. Rave: 🤣 I have nausea! bc I didn’t with my previous 3 MCs. Fingers crossed.

    Questions: none rn

GTKY: what is the most recent book that you have read for fun? “The Missing” I forget author, I think DS accidentally bought it on my kindle so i read it. It was ok. And just started a lee child book. Easy reading that’s for sure.

How are you feeling?: nausea, fatigue, nausea, fatigue, nausea, fatigue.

Rants/Raves: I don’t remember feeling this tired and nauseous with my first but I’ve had a few early MCs in between so any symptoms are ok I guess because it means I’m pregnant.

    Questions: none at this stage.

GTKY: what is the most recent book that you have read for fun? A book called ... ‘The Subtle Art Of Not Giving A F**k’. Pretty funny read actually.  I wish I had the courage to put it into practice a bit more haha
  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 7+1

    FTM/STM/STM+: STM

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Finding out - probably NIPT in a few weeks

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: blueberry

Upcoming appointments: Hopefully my last ultrasound at my fertility clinic on Thursday (7/30) and my first OBGYN appt on 8/5

How are you feeling?: Not as crappy as I was at this point in my first pregnancy, but still low level garbage most the day.  If I get too hungry, I get nauseous; if I eat too much, I feel terrible; if I eat too little, I feel nauseous -- it's a delicate balance over here. Also, the fatigue is real.  I've been napping most days and I'm not normally a napper.

Rants/Raves: Rant: I think I've got a cold. Just a sore throat and some congestion but I feel blah. Raves: at least it's not covid.  (Had that already, it was terrible.)

    Questions:

GTKY: what is the most recent book that you have read for fun? Michelle Obama's Becoming

    Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Finding out

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: baby is the size of a blueberry

Upcoming appointments: I have an appointment today :)

How are you feeling?: All day nausea has hit. For now trying B6, ginger tea and lemon water and eating little meals often has been helping.

Rants/Raves: I had my first appointment two weeks ago and still trying to decide if I should find a new office.  We have a mandatory mask order in place and there were several staff members not wearing them.

GTKY: what is the most recent book that you have read for fun? For fun? 🤔 last book I read was How to talk so kids will listen & how to listen so kids will talk.
  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 3/17

    FTM/STM/STM+: 3rd baby

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: team green for now

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: not sure

    Upcoming appointments: Wednesday

How are you feeling?: pretty nauseous if I get too hungry, other than that, not terrible

Rants/Raves: going on vacation next week... MUCH needed

    Questions: none really

GTKY: what is the most recent book that you have read for fun? I don't really like to read, but move is Greater on Netflix. SOGOOD and makes me miss football season

@talusia17 I have read that book and it's really good! When you start putting the things into practice, it's pretty amazing what can come of it
  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 3/25 5 Weeks 4 Days

    FTM/STM/STM+: STM

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Finding out! Planning to get the NIPT which is how I found out the sex with my DD

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Orange Seed

Upcoming appointments: August 13th! Feels like forever still.

How are you feeling?: I'm feeling good. No major symptoms at this time other then fatigue. It randomly hits me out of nowhere! I actually went to bed at 8PM last night because I was so tired.

Rants/Raves: I have been having some brown discharge (looks like old blood) the past few days which has me kind of on edge. This happened to me with my first pregnancy too and everything was fine so I'm trying to remind myself that this is "normal" (at least for me). Other then that I am just happy that work seem to be slowing down a bit for me. I have been super busy the past few weeks which is great in terms of productivity but I'm tired! I don't have any time off planned until Labor Day weekend either. My husband and I are trying to decide if we want to go somewhere or not. With COVID being out of control here in Texas I'm not sure if going anywhere is a great idea but I am dying to get out of this house for a few days!

    Questions:

GTKY: what is the most recent book that you have read for fun? I'm reading Untamed right now by Glennon Doyle and the last book I read was Open Book by Jessica Simpson. Open book was wayyyy better then I expected it to be!

@nagrom9319 Where are you going on vacation??

@juliebeannn I'm so sorry to hear you had COVID!! Hopefully all of that is behind you now! I absolutely loved Becoming! I actually listened to it as an audio book and she narrated it herself. It was amazing hearing it in her voice.

@manillabar I think the "big" check in is working for the group. We don't seem to have many active participants right now.
  • @jenotontx I listened to the audiobook also and LOVED that she narrated it!
@Talusia17 How to Talk So Kids Will Listen is such a great book! I use strategies from the book everyday!

    FTM/STM/STM+: FTM

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: I don’t really think this is going to work out, but green, if by some miracle

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of:

Upcoming appointments: 8/3- to see if there was any growth

How are you feeling?: I’m okay. I’m so used to this never working out, that I cease to be surprised.

Rants/Raves: I had an ultrasound today because my progesterone had dropped. I’m supposed to be past the six week mark, and my doc hoped to see a gestational sac, yolk sac, and fetal pole. We only saw a gestational sac that measured 3mm. So, not good. I was given the option to discontinue medication now or continue taking it for another week and do a follow up to see if there was a decent, positive change. I chose to stay on and get the follow up. All I can really do now, is hope for the best. At least I have an appointment with a reproductive immunologist in November. If this doesn’t work, I’m going to be taking a mini ttc break.

Questions: No questions, just proud of myself for at least trying to contribute this time around.

GTKY: what is the most recent book that you have read for fun? I read, ironically, The Testament (sequel to The Handmaid’s Tale).
  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 3/15, 7w

FTM/STM/STM+: STM, 4th pregnancy (DS who is 4)

    Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: finding out!

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: blueberry

Upcoming appointments: first ultrasound and appointment 8/3, my husband isn’t allowed to come with me, but I can FaceTime him in

    How are you feeling?: optimistic!
     *TW*
I’ve lost my last two pregnancies around 6.5 weeks, but everything seems to be going well so far! No spotting, lots of symptoms.
    /end

Rants/Raves: I’ve been so busy at work and all I want to do is sleep!!!

    Questions:

GTKY: what is the most recent book that you have read for fun? I just read “Empire of Gold” - it’s the third book in a fantasy trilogy set in Egypt and the Middle East. Very different and beautifully written!

@amw2013 I’m so sorry for what you’re going through, I can unfortunately empathize. You will be in my thoughts!
  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: According to my missed period I should be 7 weeks 5 days. According to today’s ultrasound, I’m 6 weeks 1 day...

    FTM/STM/STM+: FTM

    Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Finding out

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: idk

Upcoming appointments: Thursday for a follow up to make sure baby is growing.

How are you feeling?: Not many symptoms anymore, and not feeling too good emotionally about this either.

Rants/Raves: (TW) My last pregnancy, a year ago, I had a missed miscarriage. We caught it in a follow up ultrasound when the first scan showed that baby was measuring 2 weeks behind. The follow up showed that baby no longer had a heartbeat and had stopped growing. It feels like the same thing is happening all over again. This time the heart rate looked faster than last time, but still, I’m not feeling too good about it. Thankfully I’ll be going back in a couple of days for a follow up to see if the baby is getting bigger.

Questions: Has anyone heard of a pregnancy lasting after the baby measured way behind like this? Could use a little hope.

GTKY: what is the most recent book that you have read for fun? Normal People

@amw2013 our stories are sounding similar. I’m so sorry, you’re dealing with this too.
  • @annanbby @amw2013 I’ve been in both your situations before. My thoughts and prayers are with you xxxxx
  • I’m sorry you’re going through this too! I’m not sure if you’re religious at all (I’m Catholic, fwiw), but I plan on going to a chapel this weekend with a lot of holy relics. I’ll pray for you no matter the outcome, and I’ll add you to my daily prayers. (I hope none of that was out of line, but I feel like it’s the only productive thing I can do right now.)
  • Thank you so much! I will take all the spiritual help I can get right now!
  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 3/24 5+5

FTM/STM/STM+: STM, DD is 15 mo

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Definitely finding out!

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: don't know

Upcoming appointments: 8/6 for a new patient app. I've moved since my last pregnancy and am completely starting new with medical care in my new town. Really hoping I like the OB.

How are you feeling?: Just meh. Having waves of nasea, but nothing too crazy. Fatigue seems to come and go. Honestly, I like having symptoms because it lessens my anxiety

Rants/Raves: Rave: I am so incredibly thankful to be working from home at a non stressful job this time around. Last pregnancy I was at an incredibly stressful job with a 3 hr daily commute- so I just keep reminding myself that if I could get through that, I can get through anything

    Questions: nopr

GTKY: what is the most recent book that you have read for fun? I've just started The Body Keeps The Score, probably not fun reading by most standards, but I love that kind of stuff!
  • @amw2013 @annanbby I'm so sorry you are both going through stressful times. I'm sending positive thoughts your way! ❤️
  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 8+4

    FTM/STM/STM+: 3rd

    Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: finding out

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: peanut / raspberry

Upcoming appointments: had one today and now Wednesday had a strange gush of fluid at work last night brownish when I wiped but like completely watery so they scheduled an ultrasound

How are you feeling?: nauseous tired

    Rants/Raves:

    Questions:

GTKY: what is the most recent book that you have read for fun? I'm rereading the Sevenwaters Trilogy by Juliette Marillier
  • @yiggle09 I'm a big fan of the sevenwaters trilogy!! Such good books, maybe it's time for me to reread them too lol.  Hope your next appointment goes well

@amw2013 @annanbby keeping you both in my prayers! any chance your dates could be off?

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a blueberry, or a tic tac

Upcoming appointments: last RE appointment next Monday

How are you feeling?: so nauseated, ugh! everything has the same horrible smell and taste and everyday there are fewer foods that I can eat without feeling sick. I'm trying to avoid upgrading to something prescribed but my RE told me to call by the end of the week if things were getting worse, so I guess we'll see...

Rants/Raves: not really a rant or a rave but lately I feel bad for my daughter because I'm always too tired or too sick to play with her. I did manage to play with her last week at the beach but this week so far seems much worse. Plus at least last week we could have her spend some time with her grandparents so I could get a break. Now she just gives me a sad look and says, "you have to rest again?"  :'( . I'm also not looking forward to going back to work. Ok, enough whining lol

    Questions:

    Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Still unsure

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Blueberry

    Upcoming appointments: Next Wednesday!

How are you feeling?: Not great. Super bloated and nauseous all day long. Everything smells to me and I have the same taste in my mouth all day.

Rants/Raves: Rave:We had a family zoom call the other night which was really nice. Rant:  @manillabar I could not agree more about feeling bad for my daughter. I just want to spend time with her but all I do is lay on the couch.

    Questions:

GTKY: what is the most recent book that you have read for fun? I just finished Bloom by Kelle Hampton. A few co-workers and I all read it this summer.

    Becca and DH-David-Parents to: Caleb-5/19/15, Elijah-4/3/2017, and Ilana-2/22/2019

    Twins! #4 and #5 Due: 03/14/2021

  • @manillabar @swbecca528 I was literally just sitting here thinking about how guilty I feel for not doing more with DD....ugh. Being stuck at home with the shelter in place orders is just making it that much worse 😣
  • No. I’m pretty sure of my dates. This has been interesting since the beginning. I got an early positive with a decent hcg (50something), then I went back two days later, and it dropped to 40. It didn’t seem right, because my lines got darker, so I asked to have one more draw to make sure they were dropping appropriately and it came back at 131. This happened last summer too. I went in nothing on my 5 week, then two weeks later, I had up to a heartbeat, went back again and it was gone. Something weird just keeps happening during my pregnancies. I’m hoping, unless a miracle happens this week, that this reproductive immunologist can help me figure out what keeps happening.
  • @amw2013 @annanbby I hoping and praying for you guys!! Grow babies grow!!! I'm so sorry you're going through this!

  • @treebagel That's so funny that your son bought a book on your Kindle! Hopefully it was a fun surprise!

@pisciesbaby2021 I feel like I need to read that book too!

@juliebeannn Yay for graduation!!!! Also, I bought Becoming on Audible, now I just have to start listening to it - I keep getting sidetracked by murder podcasts haha.

@Talusia17 Oh that's awful about the OB office, I'm so sorry - honestly, it would probably be a dealbreaker for me. I would find a new practice immediately.

@nagrom9319 I hadn't heard of that movie before! Have you watched Last Chance U?

@jenotontx I don't blame you for being stir crazy, we are too! We've basically been in the house since March, I would love to go somewhere for a couple of days but we probably won't risk it :(

@amw2013 @annanbby Sending you both my thoughts and prayers!

@myfingerhurts Oh I'll have to look for that series - I had never heard of it before but that seems right up my alley!

@sunny_native14 I am super grateful that I'm WFH right now too!

@Yiggle09 Will have to add that trilogy to my list! I love the idea of a reread, I want to reread the entire Belgariad/Mallorean series.

@manillabar Philippa Gregory is always a strong choice!

@swbecca528 I've followed Kelle Hampton's blog for years, but have never read the book. Will add it to the list!

June Signature Challenge - Favorite TV Quotes

  • @manillabar I have very regular cycles, so to have ovulated 11 days late would’ve been so strange. Not only that, but that would’ve meant I got my very immediate and dark positive 5 dpo which also wouldn’t make sense. Anyway, I’m really sure of when I got pregnant. I could understand a few day difference, but 11 just doesn’t add up.

We’ll see at my Thursday appointment though. Really hoping and praying that maybe it’s just as simple as the baby had a difficult start with growth but then starts catching up. Who knows. It’s just hard seeing everything happening very similarly to the last time.
  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: March 2nd, 9w

    FTM/STM/STM+: Fourth time

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Probably finding out.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Cherry

Upcoming appointments: Appointment today with first ultrasound today (kind of nervous), Next appointment MFM Dr. 8/13

How are you feeling?: Very nauseous all day long and my migraines have been pretty bad.

Rants/Raves: Can fall please come soon!  It's too hot in NC!

    Questions:

GTKY: what is the most recent book that you have read for fun? I have a stack of books to read...Just need to find time to read one.
  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 3/21, 6W2D

    FTM/STM/STM+: Third baby

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Finding out ASAP.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: A dried corn kernel

Upcoming appointments: First appt is 8/12

How are you feeling?: Eating is a gamble. When I start getting hungry, I need to find something right away before I get overly nauseated. If I choose the "right" food, I get relief from the nausea for a bit. If I choose the "wrong" food, my body punishes me for the next few hours. I don't recall feeling so many symptoms so early with either of my boys.

Rants/Raves: Feeling symptoms! Raving to have that peace of mind but ranting that work is busy and it's so difficult to concentrate when you feel like garbage.

Questions: Is NIPT typically covered by insurance? I'm wondering whether it's worth calling my insurance company about.

GTKY: What is the most recent book that you have read for fun? I mostly read self-help type books. Currently reading Grit by Angela Duckworth. Will be starting Parenting with Love and Logic soon. I'm also working my way through a new women's study bible.
  • @amw2013 @annanbby I'm sorry the both of you are in this position right now.

@sunny_native14 I can't imagine having a long commute while pregnant. My drive to work is about 45 min in rush hour and I got so car sick during my first pregnancy. I'm also very happy to be working from home most of the week right now. I hope I continue to WFH until at least after first tri!

@clevans1 It's normally covered if you are 35 or older. I'm under 35 and my insurance didn't cover it last time but the company that does the tests will give patients a decreased rate. I want to say they charged $100 if insurance wouldn't cover it. So it would be good to check your insurance company and also talk to your OB office.

@mvt2003 What a fun announcement! My symptoms during my first pregnancy didn't start at ALL until I was 8 weeks! So I know it's hard not to worry but I promise you they will show up.

@clevans1 NIPT was covered by my insurance the first time even though I wasn't 35 yet.  Not sure why, but my insurance is pretty amazing.  This time I'm over 35 so I'm sure it'll be covered again.
@mvt2003 My symptoms are way more mild this time than they were with my first. This time, at 5 weeks, most days I felt pretty normal - just some bloat.  Nausea kicked in around 6.5 weeks and it's still a lot more mild than my last pregnancy.  I know it's anxiety provoking but just keep thinking positive thoughts!!

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: uncooked macaroni, lol

Upcoming appointments: Next u/s is on 8/20, definitely wasn't expecting another one so soon

How are you feeling?: Queasy and tired, always hungry but never want to eat what's on hand

Rants/Raves: Our first ultrasound was yesterday, we're very lucky that the practice allows one guest so my husband was allowed to come along. I didn't realize how nervous we both were about this pregnancy, until we saw that little heartbeat on screen and all the emotions came pouring out.

    Questions: None yet

GTKY: what is the most recent book that you have read for fun? Finally getting around to reading the 6th book in the Green Rider series by Kristen Britain - I've been along for the ride since 2004 and there should be about two more books to go. About a quarter of the way through right now and so curious to see how everything unfolds.

    Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Girl!!

Upcoming appointments: 4th US next Monday at 8+5! My sch had decreased from 3cm to 0.3cm at my 7+5  appointment yesterday! Officially off bed rest and baby G had caught up to measuring on track and had a 158 heartbeat!

How are you feeling?: so terribly sicked, but oh so relieved!

GTKY: what is the most recent book that you have read for fun? Do magazines count? Excerpts from scientific journals?  I downloaded the Elizabeth Smart book when we got home from the hospital with #1 and probably got 50 pages in.

  • @amw2013 @annanbby  im keeping you guys in my thoughts! ❤
@manillabar i like the group check in, our group isnt huge or overwhelming yet.

I didnt see any books ive read on this list of books, im usually a big reader but i havent had that much time lately, and my brother has borrowed my kindle. My other BMB group has a book club and i seriously failed  at reading all of this years books (even though i voted on which books we should read 😬) maybe one day

I know that OBs do not provide the same level of care that midwives do, but i have to have  C section this time, so i have to have an OB. Also not feeling great about how I haven't  worked out all week, but im SO TIRED.

**TW **   i almost died giving birth. I dudnt end up having a csection but have basically been told this time i should, so i am **TW OVER**

    He said, She said.
     It wasnt bad

  • @manillabar @swbecca528 I was literally just sitting here thinking about how guilty I feel for not doing more with DD....ugh. Being stuck at home with the shelter in place orders is just making it that much worse 😣
Today I went to Target and got her a new small toy because I was feeling bad and tonight before bed we played with it. Was super nice. I got the boys each something small too but they were watching baseball with DH. I finally felt well enough to get off the couch and play so that is a good sign!

How are you feeling?: Low level nausea all day long and feeling soooo tired

Rants/Raves: This nausea is nothing like I experienced with DS. I have to time my meals and snacks perfectly or else the nausea gets worse. I've figured out I need to eat every 2-3 hours, but if I eat too much it backfires. It's such a balance I'm still trying to figure out.

    Questions: None right now

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a raspberrry

How are you feeling?: Nauseous and exhausted! This pregnancy is kicking my butt. I don’t remember feeling this nauseous or exhausted last time around.

Rants/Raves: We just got back from spending a few weeks at a relative’s house in Florida. We had to cut the trip short because my state issued a quarantine order while we were already there and I have to go back to school and DS back to daycare soon. We’re now technically quarantined but it’s totally on the honor system. (We were pretty much quarantining this whole time anyway so it isn’t that much different, and we stayed at the house as much as possible while in Florida.)

    Questions:

GTKY: what is the most recent book that you have read for fun?
I’ve been reading the Strike series of novels by J. K. Rowling (under the pen name Robert Galbraith).

  • @swbecca528 that's really sweet! Our town is having a socially distanced outdoor movie night tomorrow with Frozen 2. I think we'll go, and I'll let her wear her Elsa costume. Hopefully I'm feeling up to it! The nights are kind of hit or miss :-/

@mvt2003 +1 to what everyone else has said... I remember at 5w with my daughter and this time I wasn't feeling too much and my symptoms were coming and going. By 6 weeks both times the nausea hit :# Or maybe you'll be one of the lucky few with no morning sickness!!!

@Yiggle09 I was glad to see your US in the thread, sounds like things went well today!

@jessg2223 I've heard a lot of good things about Where the Crawdads Sing!
