I’m going to a gastro doc in an hour. I’ve had this left sided pelvic pain off and on for almost three years now and my last instruction was to consult gastro. I feel like it’s not gastro related and it feels slightly silly to go but I also feel like I have to explore everything so off I go. I wonder how much they’ll be able to even do because of the pregnancy.
I'd love some McDonalds right now. I'm not sure I'm craving it; just feeling lazy and don't want to make breakfast. And a sausage McMuffin sounds pretty good right now. Well, maybe two.
Oh, and my new obsession is chocolate Oreos. They are the best Oreo I've ever had, and that's saying a lot because I'm a pretty committed fan of the double stuffed. It's some good cookies.
Is it Twatwaffle Tuesday yet? My H suggested we have grilled cheese for lunch. I got all mentally prepared for grilled cheese and when I went to make it I realized he used all the cheese. Wtf H
@cmoon3 I wish they would make some of the specialty Oreos as double stuffed. I only eat them if they are double stuffed. And MH is weird and loves the thin Oreos 😳😣
@birdiejo I hope it’s nothing serious and that you get it figured out.
I have so much to do this week and no energy to do any of it. I just want to stop feeling awful all the time. The nausea is both better and worse but the lightheaded weird feeling is beyond old. My 2 year old has been super demandy this morning from, “I DON’T WANT TO PICK UP GROCERIES SO TAKE ME HOME” to, “Want Chuggington, want Elsa, don’t want that, want Chuggington...” Le sigh. I need a maid and a babysitter and I have no money. So I need my mom? 😣
MH has been making comments about how burdensome this pregnancy is on him because I'm not doing as much around the house or in the kitchen as pre-pregnancy. He has been picking up my slack since last week and is feeling it. I made a sarcastic reply about asking a friend or family member to help out around the house instead of him helping me and he said it sounded like a good idea. 😑 So it crossed my mind once or twice to ask my MIL if she'd come over to help around the house. But I don't think that's right. I think MH should acknowledge the difficulty this pregnancy has on both of us and accept that I need help with my responsibilities right now. I felt upset that he seems burdened by my pregnancy difficulties because in my mind I genuinely need the help and we both wanted this pregnancy. Once I get past this back pain (unless it sticks around most of my pregnancy), I'll be back to my normal routine and responsibilities and it will be easier on him. But right now, I need the help. @mdfarmchick I finally made chicken and dumplings over the weekend! I didn't go to the store first, or use the chicken bones, and my broth had gone bad, so the base was milk and seasoned water 😆 and the chicken sank to the bottom of the pot while I made the dumplings and we ended up with burned chicken and dumplings! 🤣 We ate it all so it was still a good meal IMO.
@s_montgomery my unsolicited advice is to start out as you mean to go on. The first trimester is hard. The third trimester is hard. Sometimes the middle is hard. And then you know having a newborn is hard. We all need some help and since you are the one carrying the baby, I don’t think it’s too much to ask for some help in the day to day activities. ♥️
@s_montgomery @mdfarmchick Said basically what I would, but with nicer words. Your husband is being selfish, and he needs to understand that the help you need now is minimal compared to the help you will need when you are recovering from childbirth and solely responsible for keeping another human alive (if you breastfeed).
I always say I wish husbands could experience 1 day of pregnancy, 1 hour of child birth and 1 day of post partum. They would probably be a LOT more sympathetic. It is hard growing for another human and sometimes we don’t want to clean the dang house!
@moguippy what a perfect little profile you got!!!! Baby looks beautiful and i'm so glad your NT scan went well!

@tamalahoops thanks! The US ended up being so fast because baby was being so cooperative! The tech was was very happy and kept saying baby was looking gorgeous. My DS was never cooperative during ultrasounds and I always had to drink cold juice or get up and dance around to get him to move lol. I was nervous about today’s ultrasound since I felt like we were playing with fire telling our families the day before an ultrasound but it all worked out!
I think MH should acknowledge the difficulty this pregnancy has on both of us and accept that I need help with my responsibilities right now.
@s_montgomery I think your statement is totally reasonable. Have you had this conversation with him? My husband has been picking up ALL my slack and I can see it is overwhelming to him at times. He never complains to me, but I try to point out that I see all the extra work that he is doing, acknowledge that it is hard on him too and thank him for all the extra help. I also point out that if the dishes sit in the sink an extra day or two it’s not the end of the world, so that he doesn’t feel pressure to get everything done at once. Its hard though. I never imagined a pregnancy would sideline me so much. I hope you two can find some common ground!
Thanks @cmoon3@mdfarmchick and @manditchka24 for your responses and acknowledgments of how difficult pregnancy is. @mdfarmchick I've been keeping in mind what you said about keeping the standard all the way through. @manditchka24 Yeah, after I posted my comment here I realized that MH and I needed to talk about it and that I needed clarity on his feelings. So we talked yesterday and he confirmed to me that he does feel burdened but he acknowledged that it's hard on me too. Our conversation didn't reach a resolution but I told him again that I need help and I appreciate it when he gives it. And I agree @cmoon3 I'll need more help from him when baby arrives than I do now. I hope that conversations about my expectations will help him step up when baby arrives and for us to communicate well now and when the time comes. When my daughter arrived, MH was very helpful because it was expected of him from our daughter's birth because of my preeclampsia and not being able to leave the bed. Although in his words he did "all the work" because I couldn't. 🙄 And yet I breastfed around the clock. He's not perfect! But he is helpful and I'm thankful for every moment he has helped.
My random is that tomorrow is my birthday and we are having a small family get together sunday like my mom and sister and hubby in our backyard and I cannot decide what I want to eat for it. LOL something easy like hot dogs and hamburgers or ordering pizza. But honestly, I crave nothing and nothing sounds good so it makes it tricky for sure!
ALSO @s_montgomery my husband and I have been bickering a little about the extra work stuff around the house. HONESTLY i blew up at him over the weekend because he couldn't even match the right lid to the correct sippy cup bottom to give our son some milk (he's 18months) and we have had the same like 5 cups since like 7 months old. i was like serioiusly do you ever pay attention to anything?? it was so frustrating
I slipped and said the word "midwife" in front of my stepson (17), who as I assumed was too busy playing his video game and didn't notice. But DH decided to go ahead and tell him anyways, except then it turned out that he didn't know what a midwife was anyways so DH had to explain that to him too, lol!
Anyone in any of the fb groups for February moms ? I am for 90% entertainment purposes. So I’m due middle of the month but a ton of people are posting about feeling flutters and movement already! I’ve got nothing. Anyone here feeling anything super early?
@birdiejo I'm due Feb 5 and babe is measuring a few days ahead and I only feel gas.

@tamalahoops I figure that’s the majority but this is my third so I’m wondering how much earlier I’ll feel anything. Those facebook outliers always get me 🤪.
@birdiejo I am. I have felt baby. Hiccups the other night and yesterday a kick that moved my belly. I had an anterior placenta with both of my boys and she told me she thought it was posterior at my last appointment. I thought I was crazy but it just doesn’t feel like gas. This is my sixth pregnancy and hopefully third THB. I’m also 13 + 2.
@mdfarmchick that is so awesome! I hope that happens for me. I’m 11 + 2 right now and after my 12 week appointment on Monday I would love some reassurances!
@birdiejo I had anterior placentas for both my girls and didn't feel anything for sure until 17+ ish weeks. I know I thought I felt things, but then had the same feelings when not pregnant so definitely gas 😂 It would be awesome to have a posterior placenta this time and feel more but 🤷🏻♀️ we'll see I guess
@mdfarmchick I'm so jealous! I wish I was feeling the baby, I'm so anxious about having another loss.
We set up our new purple mattress last night and I am soooo glad we went ahead and got it early in the pregnancy. The difference between it and our old mattress is so noticeable! I feel like I haven't slept this well in ages.

I had my monthly check up this morning. And I got to hear the HB!! It was such a relief, because I was worried about a MMC. It was strong at 157. I totally teared up. My OB told me not to worry so much about the bleed, because it's not really an indicator of the long-term outcome. She was very reassuring. I can't tell you how relieved I am!
I had to wait until after 20 weeks to feel movement with my first, and my second, I had to wait just as long because I had an anterior placenta. I felt a little flutter a few days ago, but it isn't consistent, so I wonder if it was the quickening because I am 11 weeks and change.
I definitely though I felt flutters the other day. I’m 13 weeks and felt my son around 16 weeks with a posterior placenta so hopefully it really is movement. I didn’t have gas after so I’m hopeful that’s what it was...and it was when I was trying to relax before bed so it just seemed like it had to be!
I need a product spotlight on belly/body creams oils etc. I know there’s nothing I can do to prevent the stretchies but I am struggling . My skin is stretching out faster than any of my previous pregnancies and my belly and boobs are itchy af. Halp! I’m about to order Burts bees for pickup from target.
With my first pregnancy, I noticed my first stretch mark at 12 weeks. I put aloe vera on my stretches and didn't notice a difference. I ended up with a lot of stretch marks yet I didn't carry that large. Maybe the swelling bc of preeclampsia made them so bad, Idk. Here's a picture about a month before I delivered for size reference.
Pregnancy level: ate chips while making French fries. Got full from chips before French fries were done and now have about 100,000 uneaten French fries for later.
I’m just now catching up (sorry!), but this Oreo talk (I just finished a package yesterday) has me reminiscing about Cakesters. Y’all remember those? They were like soft Oreos. I once made a birthday cake out of the chocolate ones for my college roommate. I wonder why they discontinued those. They were perfection.

Give the chocolate Oreos a try. Even though they're single layer filling, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised!

Not to eat necessarily, but just in case the mood strikes.
I slept about 15 hours yesterday. For an insomniac that is an insane situation.
My paternity clothes came and I look like I'm floating in a sack of khaki. I hope I never fit them, of thst makes sense.
My next OBGYN appointment is next week. Wondering how well the blueberry has been going.
I have a serious aversion to showers now.
The water pressure is not jiving well with my breast sensitivity.
Hope everyone is doing well.
