@lavenderclouds thought of this one!) What are your favorite summertime activities? Will you still be able to do a lot of things you like to do this summer even with the pandemic?
Re: Weekly Check-in ~~~ Week of 6/29
We love to go to all the little fairs and carnivals the different towns have here, which are cancelled this year. But we’ve still been getting out to the reservoir and to hike 2-3x a week. We also have our anniversary, my birthday, and 3 of my kids birthdays. I looove summer.
@whitealbum29 Thanks so much for doing this each week, and I can’t wait to hear what your baby is! I love that some of you are starting to find out!

Also, traveling/moving cross country for two weeks, which is pretty fun, even with the pandemic going on. In Cincinnati now. Going onwards to Louisville, St. Louis, and Kansas City next. If anyone has advice, pm me!
whitealbum29 hooray for good NIPT results! And congrats on a girl!
savykay 3 earthquakes?? Fires? California? That does sound stressful.
carleym93 If you Google pregnancy and covid, you'll likely find the studies I found that say it hasn't been shown the mother can pass covid on to the fetus. The concern I think in 1st tri is overheating/fever (miscarriage). And, of course, there's the concern if you have covid when giving birth, that you can transmit to the infant outside of the womb. I'm trying not to worry so much, but also I'm concerned that they don't have enough info yet how it affects the fetus in 1st tri or early 2nd. We're the test subjects for that.
amm126 oh no! Sorry that your family has been exposed. Sending warm wishes for speedy recoveries.
Good luck to everyone finding out NIPT or other test results.
The baby now has eyebrows
@carleym93 Every time I tell someone new I have a pang of anxiety afterwards, it feels like I'm doing something I'm not supposed to after spending 7 weeks mostly being secretive! That's sweet that your daughter is so excited though. I'm so sorry you were exposed to Covid! Can you get tested? This has some helpful info.
@amm126 So sorry your family has been exposed and that your dad won't get tested! I hate that we're all having to think about this during our pregnancies.
@lavenderclouds Yay glad you got good NIPT results! That's great that you're doing a road trip for your move! (I can't imagine flying right now and can't believe some people are!) My family traveled cross-country when I was a kid and I'd love to do it again as an adult. I feel like I should probably be eating smaller, more frequent meals based on how I felt after eating a bunch of pasta last night....but unfortunately I have not approached this like an adult yet and am still stuffing myself to the point of discomfort.
@HappyFeet34 OMG you are truly a pregnancy superhero! There's a place near me that has a "pregnancy class" as well as childbirth/baby care classes and I'm pretty sure that whatever it is, you should be teaching it!
One of our big summer activities has been to check out local breweries and vineyards. While everything around us has reopened I obviously can’t drink right now!
*TMI*
This morning I finally managed to defeat constipation and have a bm. While I was doing that and everything that had been waiting in the queue was moving, I suddenly got a huge wave of nausea and was only just quick enough to fall forward and puke bike into the tub.
Yaaaaay pregnancy, such glamour much glow.
To be perfectly honest I hate summer. I would hibernate through it if I could. I hate being hot and sweaty and uncomfortable outside. My kids are too numerous and too small for me to take them swimming by myself and my husband works 6 days a week. When it isn’t too hot I like going kayaking/canoeing and swimming and camping and hiking. But it’s has to be under 80 degrees or I’m just a puddle of misery. With the pandemic making much husband’s work schedule more hectic and unpredictable than ever we haven’t had the time to do any of my faves. Lots of shallow creek splashing and popsicles for the kids.
