I hate to say this, but having been participating here for what feels like forever... I enjoy newbies coming aboard, but at the same time my head always says "great, more people to get pregnant before me

I don't know what it is, but I feel like there are SOO many that are here for mere weeks and just vanish.

I have an appointment this weekend to get a lot of pampering done (massage, facial, waxing). I haven't done any of this since pre-covid and I'm sure I will be more anxious/concerned about exposing myself to the elements if I think there is a *chance* I could be pregnant. So F it, I'm getting in now!

I just had a chick-fil-a sandwich with fries for lunch today, zero shame. Also contemplated adding in an order of nuggets, but I had a moment of restraint.

I do regret ordering a diet coke with my lunch, I should have gotten the diet lemonade. Grrrrr.

This isn't a confession but I don't support Chick-Fil-A. Same with Hobby Lobby. And unfortunately the list is growing lately.

@krash_ I don't mind the occasional Chick-fil-a now that they've actively cleaned up the list of organizations they support. Hobby Lobby still gets a boo from me, and now I think I need to find a new company that makes planners, because I just read a really awful article about Erin Condren.

@inthewoods23 having been here for over 2 years now, I feel the same way. Also why I have backed off from participating, because it feels like so many of the people I got close to have now graduated and all I do is watch a revolving door of grads while I'm left behind. Obvi I know that's not the case, but it eats away at me.
(Side note, miss you ladies who are still here, fighting in the trenches

)

My confession is I didn't know these things about Hobby Lobby until now. Dammit, I liked that store. Blissfully ignorant Canadian over here, just one more thing to feel guilty about.

@krash_ I totally understand your disdain for both places and for a long time I refused to shop/eat at both as well. The problem I started to run into is exactly what you mentioned about your list growing. I read an article back a few years ago discussing all the different companies/brands and how they are all connected/owned by the same people. It was basically husbands of names long of places that I would rather NOT support but it became clear to me that is unrealistic for me to sustain. For that reason I kind of gave up on completely refusing to eat or shop at any particular place. I still try to avoid places when I can (going to Michael's vs Hobby Lobby) but I don't put a hard stop on anywhere anymore.

I've always been a Michaels over HL person. What I have NEVER understood with HL is their pricing/sale model. EVERYTHING is always some % off. I'm pretty sure you can't ever pay the sticker price for a single item in that store. I thought Kohls was bad with their sales, but things aren't on sale ALL the time.

@inthewoods23 I've only been here about 7-8 months now, but it still kills me when people who joined after me move on before I do. It's a shit mindset because I'm happy for them but then it's also like "alright so when is it my turn" (or honestly, literally anyone who has been here longer than me- I get kind of sad seeing so many familiar faces because I know how long y'all have been trying). What really kills me is people who have been here for less than a month feeling the need to announce their BFP either in TWW or TFAS so we don't "wonder where they went". What do the grad thread rules matter for anyway, right?
@mvt2003 Chick-fil-a donted to more anti-LGBT organizations after they said they weren't going to. It was all just a publicity stunt. They pulled the same crap the last time they said they'd stop too. They also flat out said when they "cleaned up their donations list" that they wouldn't rule out donating to the same anti-LGBT organizations they had been donating to in the future. In general, if I can avoid a problematic business I will regardless of how good their products are.

I have been to Hobby Lobby twice (they just opened in my neck of the woods last year). Didn't care for it. Their yarn was garbage, IMHO. I'm definitely a Michael's girl.

My FFFC: I bought veggie bacon. I ate it. I loved it. *braced for the flames*

@emeraldduchess Ooooo, what brand of veggie bacon?? I’m trying so hard to clean up my entire diet!

My FFFC: I sometimes post Friday Funnies w a political tone that I think are funny, because I was a PoliSci major & feel like I see the whole picture of politics. But I realize my posts might be slightly offensive to others depending on how sensitive they are to political commentary—and maybe members just want this to be a safe space away from those world realities.

I post funny stuff from the left & from the right. I think we all should be able to see humor in jokes regardless of where we sit politically. But I realize this is a fine line to walk and maybe what I think is funny & lighthearted actually pisses people off? I’m totally open to feedback if people wanna say, “Keiki, take that down! That’s just going too far!” Let me know, friends...

@ashaislurking I feel you especially since you've been benched for some of this time! Cuz of course it's not like you can follow anytime soon. If you're talking about who I think you're talking about in the TWW from a week or 2 ago, I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone who just carried on like that didn't happen. I think that used to be sort of the norm way back but I wouldn't want to see that.

@keikilove Morning Star brand. It doesn't look like real bacon or have the same texture. It's more like turkey bacon.

@inthewoods23 I was so happy to see everyone just not comment on the one in TWW. There were a couple in TFAS too over the last couple months and it prompted us to change the wording of the thread to make it clear that current pregnancies were not to be discussed. I definitely didn't want to see those announcements from people who had been here for 2-3 weeks and got KU on their first or cycle. It felt like a huge punch in the gut. I remember with the most recent one was when I was really struggling with potentially needing surgery for my knee again (and therefore needing to be benched again) and while thankfully we ultimately decided against it, at the time it was heartbreaking.

@ashaislurking makes me wish we could prevent people from intro'ing and start participating when they're in the TWW, but we can't police that. Although for the most lately people have been intro'ing around CD1 which is nice.

@inthewoods23 I agree. It's been nice lately that people have been spending at least a full cycle here. I also totally get that a lot of people don't jump into online ttc communities right away when they start ttc. A few of the newer members here have been trying for quite a while too. Obviously it would be really nice if ttc wasn't a super long process, but having people to relate to who have also been trying for several cycles is nice.
