  • Anyone considering a tubal ligation after this baby is born? This will be our 3rd baby and we’re talking about being done after this one. Just curious if anyone else is considering it.

The Kona ice truck came by today.  DS had an ice cream sandwich and I had cherry limeade shaved ice.  So good!

  • @JBcakes08 Me! This will be our 2nd and last, and I’ll probably have another c-section, so if that’s the case I’ll have them tie my tubes at the same time.

  • @bearmomma1 I will be having my second C-section as well! I know it's common to do it all while they're already in there. My husband and I are talking about it - he always shoots down a vasectomy when I bring it up so I think I may do it. It's such a big decision that it makes me nervous, but I don't ever want to deal with a hormonal birth control again and I really always imagined having 3.  I just don't think I want 4 and my husband seems bummed about it. Definitely need to keep talking with him about it but I'm seriously considering it.

@JBcakes08 I've thought about it - I'll be having a second C-section like you and @bearmomma1 but it'll be #2 for me and I'm a hold out for 3.  DH is good with 2.  If it was my third I would seriously consider it.  As it is, I'll get another IUD and DH has said he wants to schedule a vasectomy for the World Cup so he can stay home and watch.  So I'll have until 2022 to convince him to go for #3 lol.

  • My husband got snipped last month and my OBGYN knowing this even mentioned tying my tubes during my c-section (this is my fourth). I understand it would be a good idea in the event we split up, but other than that reason would there be any other reason to tie my tubes? Is double protection over kill in this case?
FWIW: I’m personally scared of getting them tied and then having issues and having to go back in for a hysterectomy.

Is there a plan to do product highlights threads?  I am starting to get the itch to start buying things and nesting.  I have a few questions and want to put them in the right place.
  • @gh1219. I think that could be a good idea.  I have some questions as well and didn't want them to get buried in one thread or take over one that had a different purpose.

So I am not testing my husband!  Just going to keep repeating that to myself.  I asked him if we could pizza and I love the cheesesticks from this place.  He asked me if I wanted them and I told him no.  But I might be a little sad if he didn't order them.  It is important that I say what I mean, so he knows it isn't some weird guessing game and test.  Either way I get pizza, so I hopefully I will be a happy camper.
  • I'm debating it. This is baby number 3 for us. As much as I would love more kids I'm not sure it's in the cards for us financially.

@BmcD2016 I'm worried about that too!
  • A vasectomy has never really been brought up, but I know I’m definitely done at 2 (he would have more if he had a willing partner). I never went back on BC after the first because it messed up my system so much. We just barely had sex for the last 1.5 years to not get pregnant. To avoid BC and the accidental “oops” that would lead me to make a tough decision, I think a tube tie would be the best option for us!

  • I am quickly outgrowing my regular clothes,  and can't fit into my low-key maternity clothes (thank you corona quarentine) I have 1 pair of jeans,  and 1 pair of everyday shorts I still fit into. I really didn't want to break out the high belly covering pants until we announced,  but I'm not sure what I'm going to wear at this point! What's everyone else doing?

  • I’m really unsure what BC will look like for us after this baby. We’re probably only going to have this one. My SO had a vasectomy that we reversed to get pregnant this time, so asking him to get a third surgery down there isn’t happening. I don’t know if I’m ready for such an invasive procure myself so maybe it’s just a non-hormonal IUD for me? Hopefully my doctor has some good recs!

Didnt know where this fit I'm I still am astonished at feeling how hot my belly/vagina get. I get it because we have like 50% more blood and it's more on the ahead e of our skin but it still blows my mind that my body can get that hot!
  • If I have a CS and it's safe I want it done at the same time. If I have a vaginal birth DH will get a vasectomy.
  • This is only our first and we haven’t decided yet if we’ll try for more. I just turned 36 last week, so... we’re not sure. I want to get through this one first and we’ll go from there.

@babymakes9 I bought a few pairs of maternity leggings and some babydoll type shirts, since they’re tummy friendly. Torrid had a sale and I had a lot of reward cash and my mom was like “use my credit card”, so I did 🤣

Our NIPT results from Thursday already came back! Everything looks good! We didn’t get the gender though because I’m really trying to hold out for team green!

OK that lasted an hour! I’ll post the sex in the other thread!

    Congrats girl!

I've been proud of myself because I've exercised almost every day the past week!  Just walking/swimming/light elliptical... one thing I've noticed is that my blump seems to have disappeared!  I'm wondering if my muscles woke up and got tighter, pulling my belly back in.  Am I crazy??? 🧐
  • @gh1219 If a lot of the blump was retained water, then working out would definitely help with that!

  • @gh1219 that’s funny you should say that cause I have been doing light elliptical and exercising more daily and using some light weights lately and that’s exactly what happened to me too. My little blump I had seems to have disappeared and flattened down lol So, no your not crazy 😆

@jbal918 omg your NIPT results came back already!?!? Damn that was fast.. Omg I. sooo freaking jealous lol I had my test done the day before you and I still haven’t gotten anything back ughhh haha. So glad everything looked good. congrats. I’m hoping for the same.
  • @jbal918 congrats! I'm a little jealous haha I'm still waiting for my results and I'm going on week 3!
  • @jbal918 congrats!

When I told my nurse who was doing my blood draw that we didn't want to know the sex she check marked a box on the form so it wouldn't even be pulled with the other data, so my doctor/nurse wouldn't even see it when giving me the results. If the sex was right there on the form I probably would've asked too!

  • @JBcakes08 Same for me on team green! I couldn’t even have the option or else I know I would have looked too @jbal918!

It’s fun to delay the excitement but it is weird not knowing when we could have!
  • Still waiting on my bloodwork to come back from labcorp. Had to do the glucose test early so I really just want to know if I passed of if I will have to go and do the 3 hour test. I hate not knowing. It’s been a week today and my ob hasn’t received it yet. They are so busy since everything reopened and antibody testing started.

@mindyb2019 @gh1219 I've been *such* a lazy a**! Good on you for working out, I need to figure out a routine that I can stick to.

@babymakes9 I've been doing yoga pants and stretch maxi dresses. Luckily I'm working from home so I don't have to worry about my real work clothes. I do have a belly band thing, which helps if you need to wear pants that are a bit too tight.
  • @conni0205 that's so annoying, I got my results the next day on the phone app. Full NT report too. The only thing I'm waiting on is NIPT which I'm expecting next week sometime.
  • We ordered a cabinet with glass doors from Amazon to use as a display case. It came today and we started putting it together... got just THREE pieces in before we realized that one of the pieces from the base of the cabinet didn’t have the right pilot holes drilled in for the cam locks. So DH is going to call the manufacturer tomorrow to see if they can send us a replacement piece, because I don’t know how we’d send the whole thing back 😒 the box was pretty much destroyed by opening it.

  • @dreamscapes_ Amazon usually has great customer service and often just sends a new item. But maybe the manufacturer can just send you the one piece you need?
  • I ordered both kids new bed frames as we will be redoing there room. When i placed the order (6/9) they gave me an estimated delivery date of 6/16 but to expect delays. That was perfect because we need to paint and I really dont have a place to store the huge box until I get some other projects done. Guess what showed up yesterday? Now I have a huge box in my living room. Lol
  • @BmcD2016 yeah, I just didn’t want them to send a whole new piece for just one panel, you know? We just got off the phone with the manufacturer and they’re going to fedex the one panel so we can build it. So yay! I just used to work at a retail call center and that was one of the types of calls I hated getting, because our manufacturers were sooooooo slow.

  • Just catching up on this thread now! For everyone considering a tubal ligation with a scheduled c-section it’s a super quick, easy procedure to do after they get baby out!

Personally DH and I have decided not to use any birth control between babies! Mainly because we had such a hard time to conceive (needed clomid) and I’d rather Have a “surprise you’re pregnant a little early” then have a “Surprise you have to go through IF meds again to have another” also planning on exclusively breastfeeding which is a form of birth control on itself!

And I’ve ordered some motherhood maternity leggings off amazon (super cheap) and a pit of lululemon super high rise align pants (not so cheap) and some franato maternity shorts for under dresses and I’ve managed to stay comfortable and wear my other non maternity clothes!
  • @bearmomma1 I’m trying not to nap today so I’m just watching a move (in bed lol) while DS sleeps and DH goes fishing for a bit
