@elmich3 They’re currently allowed in the part of the country where I live (PNW). Each place is different but I hope they start allowing in more places soon!
@elmich3. My husband was allowed at my last appointment, but my practice does not allow visitors before 10 weeks. They also allowed only one person to come and no kids (because of the virus). I am in GA, so our state is apparently "open for business". Hoping for good news for you soon!
That is really good to know! Makes me a bit more optimistic! I live in Michigan and they act like it will be through my whole pregnancy.. I'm like, it has to end soon right?
I’m a few hours away from being done with my 24 hour urine sample. MFM wanted a pregnancy once before my first appt. I just hate doing them. I’ve done so many because of my kidney disease (can’t pass along to my kids I was told) and it’s just annoying but I get. I’ll probably have to do at least 2 more before the baby comes.
I’m in CA and still no partner allowed. Hoping it’ll change in 6 weeks for the anatomy scan! 🙏🏼

I think it will vary based on your location. I’m in north Texas and right outside of Fort Worth and currently my husband will not be able to be there in 4 weeks to find out the sex of our baby. I think maybe once there is a big decline in covid cases in each area, then they’ll loosen restrictions.
So far still no visitors in DC/VA. I'm hoping it'll change by by 12-week NT scan in two weeks, though with my luck we'll have another surge by then and have to lock down again.
Spent the weekend gardening and *everything* hurts...but still happy and excited for my plants. Have a bunch of vegetables and herbs in containers, and then planted perennial flowers on either side to attract pollinators and fill in the border around our patio. Of course, I caught the MFing squirrel munching on the new dianthus this morning, so hopefully they survive long enough to get established and spread a bit.
@akoros I started planting perennials last year and I love it. I have a salvia that is really showing off this year and a beautiful milkweed that just showed up again. I totally plan on doing the same when we move in a few months. Low maintenance but looks awesome.
Mannnnn the receptionist scheduled me with the wrong OB so to get the one I normally see, they called and switched me to Thursday. I was supposed to have my NIPT and ultrasound tomorrow. I know it’s only two days but ughhhh lol
@BmcD2016 That's my hope, pretty & low maintenance! This is the first time I have actual dirt to dig into (rather than just pots) and was really excited. However, I wasn't prepared for the number of rocks buried in the dirt. From the look of them it's not natural, so I think years ago they used river rocks to cover the edge of dirt around the patio, which then got covered with dirt and weeds. On the plus side, I was able to pile them up to make a sort of border around the creeping phlox. Won't actually keep anything from spreading beyond it, but for now looks neater
I'm also in NJ and last month when I went to both my OB visits other people were able to bring 1 visitor but no kids. I didnt bring SO because he's obviously with our two kids while I'm there. My MFM is telehealth until I have to go for an ultrasound but they are not allowing visitors.
This morning my DH was in the bathroom for about 10 minutes and my 3 y/o DS started knocking on the door saying "Everythings ok in there???" It was super funny and I have no idea where he got that from.
I just need to admit that I watched the entire 2nd season of Dead to me over a 2-day period. I couldn’t stop, I had to know what happened!
But, now I’m left with nothing else to watch and I’m so bored out of my mind still staying in the house all of the time and I don’t feel good enough yet to get out and be active.
Once I get to a point where I feel comfortable buying baby stuff that’ll give me something else to do but in the meantime........... boredom.
@shelmcclel I tried watching it, but couldn't get past the medical issue in the first episode. It seemed a little extra painful, since we are pregnant. Is that a recurring theme throughout the season?
I am currently watching Good Witch on Netflix. It feels like there is some manufactured drama and then I realized it was on the Hallmark channel. But when I wasn't feeling good, it was a good distraction. Now that I am feeling better, i am having a harder time with it. We are also watching Quantico. The third season has a much different feel to it and we are enjoying it more.
@dobiemom11 it does come up again throughout, but it’s definitely not the main focus of either of the seasons, just something that defines who she is now. I totally understand though, we watched the 1st season when I was in the thick of struggling to TTC and I cried.
We’ve been watching seasons of Alone on the history network which is more my husbands thing but I also enjoy it/gives me something to watch. Their survivalist skills are so impressive. I don’t think I’d make it a full day let alone months in the wilderness by myself, so I just really admire what these men and women can do.
@jbal918 My MFM is through RWJ in New Brunswick. The first available appt was almost a month from the day I called to schedule. Definitely frustrating. How long have you been waiting?
Decided to switch out my "small" (16oz) bottle for my "big" water bottle. I've reluctantly come to the conclusion that I can't accurately remember the number of refills I've had for the smaller one ("4" is way too hard). For the bigger bottle I know I just need 2, at a minimum, which should be easier to track.
Just watched this TV show where one of the characters is 10 weeks pregnant. She is a special agent and chasing down bad guys and kicking butt. I spent most of last week trying not to throw up. I feel like either a weakling or that was not portrayed correctly!!
@jbal918 With my last pregnancy my MFM was through St Peter's. Is this your first time with this hospital? The MFM was great but it was definitely hard to get appointments and I'm sure with everything going on it hasnt gotten any better! And that's frustrating about your blood work!
I just had my NIPT test done this morning 😁 Now all I have to do is wait.. ugh. This will feel like the longest most stressful wait ever to get the results back. FX that everything looks normal. I can’t wait to find out the gender.
@nmadjeski I used them with DS. They definitely are hard to get to and I don’t know what’s taking so long. I’ve called a few times.
Now I’m waiting for my nephrologist to call because my 24 protein output was super high and I don’t know exactly what that means. It was never this high with DS.
@jbal918 haha I was just going to give you a heads up that they are hard to schedule with but you already know. I used them with DD and it was so hard to get an appointment, my dr had to call for me to get me in at on point because they were scheduling me so far out. I would have gone back because I really liked my MFM but I have different insurance this time around.
FX your nephrologist gets back to you soon!! I had protein in my urine with DD but it was later on. I have to do a 24 hour test soon and I'm dreading it. Lol
Hi all, just wanted to share something for anyone looking to give during this time. I made a small donation yesterday to Black Mamas Matter (blackmamasmatter.org) - an organization that seeks to advance maternal health for black moms. If anyone else knows of organizations working specifically with BIPOC moms, I’d love to hear.
We’re all about to bring members of a new generation into the world. The responsibility we have to raise caring, loving, empathetic young people feels so much more important now than ever. Wishing you all (and myself) the power and love to do just that
@nmadjeski I can’t stand doing them! Because of my kidney disease, I do them once a year and then when pregnant, at least every trimester. It’s just annoying, as you know lol Neither my OB or nephrologist called back but I have my NIPT tomorrow (finally!) so I’ll ask my OB! If MFM doesn’t call soon, I’ll be calling again!
@laurenspdx ❤️ My heart has been heavy and I’ve been reflecting on this so much. I did see this scholarship from Legendairy Milk- they’re sponsoring a few black women to become certified lactation consultants. Love this idea and I really wish there was a way to donate to sponsor more scholarships or something, otherwise it’s worthy of a share to get the word out
We had a realtor come by today and will be listing our house in like 2 weeks with the hopes of selling quick. The plan is then to cram two teens, a three year old and the two of us in apartment until our new house is finished in Nov/ Dec. Y’all pray for me.
Does anyone know why the bump month clubs got rid of the birth announcements threads? I used to really enjoy seeing them and I don't think any board has done them since March or so.

My coworker is having a baby boy next month and she just gave me some clothes that are not the right size/season for her babe or duplicate order... I'm dying it's so cute!!!! This is my first baby clothes ownership and... my heart!!! 💙💙💙💙 "Up to snow good" 😂
DD randomly got a fever last night and through the night (102.4) and she woke up feeling much better so I'm not sure what caused that. Then I pulled a muscle in the back of my thigh getting out of bed this morning. So that's all been fun.
@gh1219 so cute! And so sweet of her to pass them along to you!
10-week appointment went well! I wasn't prepared for how in-depth it would be, considering that initially it was just going to be a telehealth appointment I didn't know that there would be a full pelvic exam. The doctor had problems finding the heartbeat with the Doppler, so I got a bonus ultrasound just to be sure everything's ok.

I’m so nervous for the NIPT. It was supposed to be today but they moved it to Thursday and I’m just even more nerves now.
