What do you do with DD's hair?

DD has hair that is always getting in her eyes.  She hates getting ponytails put in, and I hate putting them in because I don't want her hair to break off.  Anyone found barrettes that stay in?

Re: What do you do with DD's hair?

  • I found some teeny tiny snappy clips at Target.  I don't know what they are technically called.  They are the triangle like shaped ones that pop in and out and that's how you clip them to the hair.

Those are the only ones that stay in.  Recently, as in the past few days, we've been doing either a ponytail or pigtails.  I use the terry cloth covered bands and I really don't think that it's damaging her hair.

  • I've started calling Taylor my little sheepdog. And to make it interesting, she has a double crown, so her hair can be pushed either way. I can't believe it doesn't bother her to have hair straight over her eyes all of the time! She rips all of the clips out, so I just do pigtails occasionally.

  • I'll have to look for the little clips.  Even if they don't get used now, I will use them sometime!

    PRAY THAT IT GROWS!  LOL

  • DD FINALLY stopped pulling her hair things out, so I pretty much do whatever with it. Pigtails (full and half), ponytails, those little barrettes that PP mentioned, or the tiny claw-type clips (also from Target). I always wet it down with a mister before doing anything. I'm trying to let DD's hair grow, plus she's got crazy cowlicks, so I put it up every single day. It bothers her a little when it's in her eyes - she pushes it back - so I keep it up.

Also, I bought a bunch of colorful mini rubberbands (they looked like they were in a pill case) and HATE them. They broke all the time, and worse, they pulled DD's hair out if she yanked them out herself. Then I bought a pack of clear rubberbands by Goody and they're awesome - they don't stick to her hair and pull it out. They're all we use.

  • I use the cloth kind of rubber bands with no snagging potential and put her hair in a pebbles 'do.  Before, the no-slippy-hair-clippys worked great.  But now she pulls all barrettes out.
