I feel like I'm struggling to adult this week!!
In the process of moving into our first house and I'm so lost.  We have so many specialists coming in to do minor repairs, set things up, or honestly just to show us how things work.  We had a handyman come today to wrap up some minor repairs from our inspection and I wasn't sure the grill was working... but he just showed me how to turn it on.  So embarrassing!  I'm so impressed by everyone who builds and/or takes care of their houses on their own!

  • @gh1219. You totally got this!!  It can be intimidating, but having a new house is an awesome responsibility.  Honestly YouTube and Google are my best friends for looking up how to solve house problems.  Also a few panicked phone calls home also occurred.  I know it is stressful, but enjoy the new space when you get a chance.

    @gh1219 Congrats on the house!

DH hasn’t been allowed to come for any appointments so we booked a place by us that does them for Thursday. It’s one of those 3D/4D ones but we are just going to do the 2D and go back when the baby is bigger. I’m glad because it’s another 2 weeks before I go to my next appt and I still can’t find the heartbeat at home.

  • @gh1219 congrats on the new house! Youtube is my favorite handyman helper,  I van fix almost anything after watching someone show me how.

Our OUAC opened by appointment yesterday and I was finally able to get clothes for my 2 year old! He outgrew everything the 2nd week of quarantine. He looks so grown up in his 3T clothes!

  • I am SO over elearning/planning. So few people are participating at this point. I know they're struggling and it just sucks for all of us. We still know nothing about summer school (it's mandated for our students but we've gotten no info for it). It's all just a pile of WTF.
  • @gh1219 congrats on the new house! I also agree with YouTube.

I'm actually feeling pretty good today! I have a million phone calls to make and so much to do around the house. Got myself an iced coffee and I'm gonna get started.
  • Update: So I finally got my results back from my colposcopy test and the doctor says I have CIN3 cervical dysplasia and precancerous cells so not cancer. :( I’m happy it’s not cancer but still sucks. I don’t want my cells to be that severely abnormal. I have to go back in 3 months for another colposcopy and closely monitor the cells so they don’t get worse. I’m hoping maybe one day they will turn back to normal over time but I can’t do anything for it till after I’m done being pregnant.
  • Sorry for the double post but I wanted to ask this question: So a month ago I bought a whack load of cheapie dollarstore pregnancy tests. I have been peeing on one about once a week to every 10 days or so just to make sure that I’m still pregnant. I know I’m crazy haha. But at that time I had to wait all the way till June 1st to have my first ultrasound and because I had a MC before this pregnancy and I have bad anxiety and wanted to make sure it was still positive. The last test I took was 10 day’s ago and decided to do another one this morning. I’m freaking out now because the test line on today’s preg test was a lot fainter then the one from 10 days ago. The one from before was really really dark and today’s not as dark so now I’m thinking my HCG is going down and that worries me. I have my ultrasound in 2 weeks but it can’t come fast enough. Is there a reason why it would be a lighter line then weeks before? I’ll be 9 weeks tomorrow. Someone please help my anxiety and my mind from going to dark places. I’m trying not to over think it but it’s soo hard. I’m not bleeding or spotting at all or any cramping which is great.

@mindyb2019 hcg level peak around 8-11 weeks and then level off for the rest of your pregnancy.  Honestly, I would stop taking tests for your piece of mind.

  • @karmba Thank you. Hmm,  my doctor said they peak around 13-15 weeks. 🤷‍♀️ Ya I think I should stop taking tests too. Maybe it’s for the best and just wait till the ultrasound. I’ll know by then if something is wrong.
  • @mindyb2019 I agree with @karmba, it’s probably good to stop taking them because they are going to change and will probably stress you out more than reassure.

I’m not a doctor but as I understand it, as the placenta takes over (which starts happening around this time), the hcg levels off and then decreases by 12 weeks so it could be totally normal!
  • I just asked DS (3.5) what we should name the baby if it's a boy and he said Booger. He said he doesnt want another sister because they are too loud. This kid cracks me up 😂😂😂

@mindyb2019 it could maybe be the hook effect also? I'd read that at a certain threshold there aren't enough receptors left for the dye or something? It was a while ago, so maybe not. Also, it could just be that test/dye was weaker/defective, even if it came from the same batch.

Edit: I just re-read the articles about hook effect, and you can rule it in (out?) by diluting your urine sample. If the diluted (with water) sample comes back with a positive pregnancy test then it was the hook effect and the previous fading/missing line should be back to normal dark. The Ava article said you could experience the hook effect if you keep testing after 5 weeks.

  • @sejica I’ve heard of the hook effect too and that you can dilute your urine with water. I’ve read that your hcg levels go so high that the test itself gets overwhelmed and can’t detect it so it starts to get lighter and fade. So that just might be it. Thank you for your thoughts.

So we have a pool company here this morning to open up our pool for the season.  DS was super interested so I set him up in his bedroom with the curtain open to watch them.  I'm a few doors down in the office and I can hear him keep saying "Open it! Open it!"  Looks like we'll be getting in the super cold water this weekend  :D

  • Work has been so slow today, I hate when I really have nothing to do. I usually could make a grocery list or something but we ordered hello fresh and it gets delivered today so no need for that... ugh
  • DH is renovating our basement completely and today he broke our hot water tank and thankfully my parents live close enough I can drive there to shower but I’m just very frustrated because who knows how long it’ll take to get another one right now!
  • @tryingktogku Oh no that stinks! I bet that’s the last thing you need right now!
  • We're building Ikea bunk beads today, wish us luck!

Does anyone know if there is a way to check The Bump DM’s on the app? Or is it just on a desktop?

Has anyone had the urge to just chop off all their hair? It could be because I've been debating it even before pregnancy... But it's just another thing to do that I don't want to do while I'm feel so wack all the time
  • @maisas. I am right there.  I didn't get it cut last time, since I wanted it long enough to put up (my job is outside, so I wanted it out of my face).  That was in January and haven't been back since.  I had an appointment for earlier this week, but I moved it back another month.  Just trying to be safe, but also about to whack it off myself.
  • @jbal918 I'm pretty sure there is. I'm about to go into my appointment but I'll poke around when I get home and let you know if I find it.
  • karmbakarmba member
@maisas yep!  I typically only get a haircut once a year and the year is up next month.  It's so long right now - I need it chopped.

@nmadjeski I found a super, super round about way to do it! Also, the app has been a mess today! I had to login in four times to actually get in!

  • @jbal918 glad you found it! I've been having trouble logging in through the app as well! I gave up and opened it up I'm my web browser.
  • Well DH and I just got in a huge fight tonight and I’ve been bawling my eyes out all evening which I'm sure isn't great for added stress for the baby. 😭 I don't know if its just my pissed off pregnancy hormones or my hurt feelings speaking, but I'm kinda glad spouses cant come right now to ultrasound appts cause I have my first one coming up in like a week and a half and I really dont want him to come anyways. I know that sounds really mean and bad/unsensitive of me to say but right now he doesnt deserve to come and I'm much happier going by myself! 😡😤
  • Did anyone watch Labor of Love last night? I just so happened to turn on the tv and it was on and within 10 minutes I was hooked. New guilty pleasure I suppose.
  • karmbakarmba member
@BmcD2016 I didn't but I'm super curious about it.  What channel is it on?

  • @karmba, I think it was on Fox. It’s basically the bachelorette but the main goal is to find a mate to have children with.

I had some random burst of energy today and washed all the comforters in the house and now blankets on the couch. Also changed all the bed sheets and now I need a nap lol
I haven’t touched most of the laundry all week so I’m glad I got some cleaning done today!

  • I went to bed last night with a slight headache. I woke up 2 am feeling like a got smacked in the back of the head with a 2x4 and by 5:30 it was a full fledged migraine. Tylenol barely touched it and my go to cold compress gave very little relief. It's now almost 3:30 pm and I'm finally starting to feel better. I hate hormones!!
  • @mindyb2019. Sending some love your way today.  Sorry to hear about the argument with your husband.  They can be kinda stupid sometimes.  Hopefully you guys can work it out and enjoy your weekend.
  • @dobiemom11 thanks my friend.. ❤ He's pissing me off right now. Men are stupid lol I hope we can work it out too. Not really taking to each other much so we will see how the weekend goes.
  • So excited that I just got a really good heartbeat with my Doppler. I kept hearing mine for a while and eventually found one that was twice as fast - I was actually able to listen to both together for a while which was cool. Man these things are handy! Clocking in around 145-155.
