Re: IF Testing & Treatment w/o 5/11
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Waiting for FET in June!!! Wheeee!!!!
How are things going?: Pretty good - I'm very happy to have a FET on the calendar at all right now, so I'm focusing on preparing my body for it. I've been consistent with workouts throughout this process, but my diet has been awful (I bought a bag of mini starburst last week. WTF MVT!) so I'm going to try to cut my sugar intake and track my food to drop some weight before FET. I'm also taking my ab workouts seriously, I want to get some core work in before FET.
And at some point in the next week or so I need to start dropping the extra caffeine I've been having per day.
But that's a next week problem.
Any questions?: Nope
GTKY: what's a positive thing that has happened to you during the quarantine/pandemic? I started taking strength training seriously, which I've always said I should do but never actually did

Hi friends. I'm joining you all over here. Hope that's okay! 💕
Diagnosis (if you've been): PCOS
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO but about to be temporarily benched, technically
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): my OB put me on BC for 3 months to help balance hormones. TTC naturally when that's done.
How are things going?: So I kinda covered what's going on in the questions above on but for those of you who don't lurk or post in the dailies, I figured I'd give a quick summary of things. I'll stick in it a spoiler cause it's kinda long:
Anyway, I mentioned in WTO that I'm really struggling with my feelings about starting BCP and effectively being benched for 3 months, particularly because DH and I had decided to start actively trying again next cycle prior to that phone call (we'd been NTNP for several months). It hit me pretty hard this weekend when DH picked up my prescription. I haven't started the pills yet.
Any questions?: Kind of a dumb one, but there's no point in temping while on BC, correct?
GTKY: what's a positive thing that has happened to you during the quarantine/pandemic? I've really been enjoying zoom chatting with all of my siblings (I'm one of 6) and playing video games together. We had a group chat before the pandemic but video chatting is definitely a positive to come out of this. We live in several different timezones too.
@gingermama29 I hope these next 3 months go by quickly for you. I've always wondered what a cycle on BC might look like for temping, but I'm sure it's no different than an anovulatory cycle since you won't see the temp shift. So no, it would be pointless to temp.
And now I've read an article about some lady who uses BBT as her birth control? I'm so annoyed having read that.
Diagnosis (if you've been): unexplained, low morph, unconfirmed gluten sensitivity?
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): au naturale, GF and DF diet, various supplements to boost DH's sperm
How are things going?: I'm annoyed my OPKs aren't getting darker. I don't know if this was normal way back in the day before I was seeing the RE. I'm on CD13 and O was usually around CD17-19, but has been as late as CD24 or 25. I did have a mental meltdown Friday morning so maybe O is getting delayed now so I shouldn't expect O for another 10 days. Good thing I bought the pack of 50 tests.
Any questions?: I got nothing.
GTKY: what's a positive thing that has happened to you during the quarantine/pandemic?
My skincare! I'm not any better about washing my face at night and going through that whole routine, but I've started using some products recommended by some YouTubers and I'm feeling a lot more comfortable going out without any makeup on.

@gingermama29 So sorry you are benched for the next few months. No, there is no point temping while on BC as you shouldn’t be seeing a temp shift if you aren’t ovulating. Do you feel okay with this plan the OB has made? If not, it’s okay to look into a second opinion!
@inthewoods23 Sorry your OPKs aren’t getting any darker yet. Hope you get a positive one soon.. the wait is so hard! Do you have any fav skin care products? I’m always looking for new ones to try!
Diagnosis: MFI
Status: TWW
What are you doing this cycle? NTNP.. we are going to try again next cycle though! I need to be in control again!
How are things going? Things are going okay, although yesterday was difficult. I stayed off social media, which helped. I’m still waiting to find out when DH can get in for his repeat SA and the wait is driving me crazy! My clinic has started going retrievals again but he can’t do an SA? I don’t get it. I just want to be able to make a plan already.
Any questions? No
GTKY: what’s a positive thing that has happened to you during the quarantine/pandemic? I’ve been using this time to focus on exercising and eating healthier! Also, I’ve been experimenting with gf baking.. I made some pretty amazing choc chip peanut butter cookies yesterday and I’m planning to make chocolate zucchini muffins this week!
TTC since 9/2018
10/19- First RE visit
2/20- DH had surgery for bilateral varicoceles
7/20- IUI with 5 mg letrozole- BFN
9/20- IVF. 9 eggs retrieved, 9 mature, 8 fertilized with ICSI, 7 blasts, 4 PGT-A normal
11/20- Mock transfer/ERA
12/20- FET #1- transferred one 4AB- BFN
3/21- FET #2- transferred one 3AB- BFP! Due Dec 2021
12/21- Baby girl born!
@gingermama29 I hope these 3 months do the trick! Do you typically handle the BCP well? I have a lot of mood swings on BCP, so I get vicarious anxiety for others being on them.
@inthewoods23 I've definitely been engaging in more self-care lately as well. Hopefully it continues even as we get back into the swing of things!
Diagnosis (if you've been): AMA, blocked tube
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Trying on our own, waiting for treatment to start back up
How are things going?: My life has been pretty crazy the past 2 weeks, so I am sorry for being MIA. I officially ended my job at a hospital, and am starting my new position, which is also essential. I'm excited for the transition, but it has been a lot going on at once. TTC-wise, we're alright. Not optimistic but not feeling a sense of dread or anything.
Any questions?: Not at this point.
GTKY: what's a positive thing that has happened to you during the quarantine/pandemic? MH and I have been able to spend more time together, which has been really nice.
@shoogapoff it's been awhile since I was on BC but aside from some weight gain (which could've also been a result of bad eating habits in college) I think I handled it okay. I'm a little anxious about it though. Congrats on the new position! I hope it's a smooth transition! Glad you're getting more quality time with YH too.
@shoogapoff congrats on the new job! I'm also enjoy the extra time with DH. We're both probably going to working from home a bit more once all this is over. Also afternoon romps make for good FW timing haha.

@gingermama29 Weird creepy internet hugs. I am so sorry you are here with us and that you got the benched news right when you were going back to actively TTC. This process is so heart wrenching. As much as it hurts emotionally, I would start the BCP asap, the sooner you start the sooner you will be off it. When I had to take it for my cyst, it did help resolve it and I can see the benefits of giving your ovaries a hormonal time out so you can get the one egg it takes. I wouldn't temp during the BCP, I would try to give myself a break altogether from the logistics of TTC, but maybe like MVT2003 pick one or two things you can focus on to be in a better place when you get back to TTC. I am rooting for you!
@inthewoods23 Sorry about the OPKs not getting darker, I will say sometimes mine goes from 0-60 overnight, so don't count it out yet, especially if you normally O CD17-19. Hopefully you see some action in the next few days!
@misshelen86 Crazy enough I was just reading an article that was saying Covid-19 is present in semen and can possibly be transmitted sexually?! I was wondering how that was going to affect IUIs since I am sure the CDC will have a say or procedures regarding this. Could this be why you haven't heard back from your doctors office about the SA? Although I guess it wouldn't matter for SA?
@shoogapoffGL with the new job!
AFM:
Diagnosis (if you've been): Unexplained and since I am AMA, it is chalked up to egg quality, hence the "old"
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WFAF- BFN 14DPO
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): I reached out to my RE this morning after the BFN to see when they are reopening, she replied to the text saying send an email...so my guess is they still don't know...
How are things going?: Okay, it has been a rough few weeks emotionally for us. We are coming to the end of week 9 of "stay at home" and I think our patience, nerves, just everything is over it. I need a reason to hope again.
Any questions?: NATM
GTKY: what's a positive thing that has happened to you during the quarantine/pandemic? I am relieved that having these 2 cycles unmedicated has given my body a chance to get back to normal in regards to bloat, weight gain, and just overall feeling of not so hormonal and getting back into some running again.
@inthewoods23 @misshelen86 I just started using The Ordinary too! I did the AHA BHA peel last night!

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Letrozole (5mg), IUI last Tuesday, and started Progesterone Friday.
How are things going?: Doing ok...for some reason today, I feel like I’m already out this cycle! And I know I’m just entering the time that implantation could occur, so it’s totally irrational...can’t help the feeling though. Yesterday was a bit tough, but we stayed busy most of the day which helped...I stayed off FB too which also helped! Looking forward to a hopefully low-stress week with somewhat nice weather so we can get out and get some fresh air!
Any questions?: None right now.
GTKY: what's a positive thing that has happened to you during the quarantine/pandemic? Getting to spend so much extra time with DH...I love our breaks & lunches together every day! I’m going to miss that for sure!
@gingermama29 welcome, but I’m so sorry you find yourself over here! I hate that you have to go on BC for 3 months just when you had decided to start actively trying again...but I’m hoping the BC will get your hormones straightened out and you’ll have success with a natural cycle right after that!!
@misshelen86 I stayed off FB yesterday too, which definitely helped...but then I got a little teary when I got on there this morning! Ugh, that stinks YH can’t get in for his SA yet! I think that sounds good to start trying again next cycle...I totally get the needing to feel like you are in control! Although a nice surprise this TWW would be beyond amazing! Your GF baked goods sound so yummy!
*Edited because I overused the word also!*
@ramzlau we have our good days and bad days being stuck at home too. Hope we all get a little more freedom soon
@bluetickgal I rarely got lunch with DH when we were both in the office since it's at least 20-25 minutes apart so the lunches at home are definitely nice! DH has taken to having a nap as part of an extended lunch break every day. He says it helps him be even more productive in the afternoons.

@bluetickgal I'm sorry you're already feeling out this cycle. Sending positive thoughts your way and crossing fingers for you. That's awesome that you and YH have gotten so much extra time together and daily lunch dates.
@bluetickgal You are absolutely right that you are right in the window of implantation (6-9dpo), so what you are feeling is just the emotional rollercoaster of all of this. You aren't out yet. Hang in there!
AFM: RE office just called, they are starting back up. Everyone has to be tested for Covid prior to treatments, but I will take it! Scheduling a consult to see where we are going to start.
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA):TWW I *think* My bbt has been really, really wonky so FF can't even confirm and keeps moving/taking away my crosshairs. I also never got a blazing positive on my OPK, but that's nothing new. I am guessing my O date based on when CM dried up (TMI, I know) and started my progesterone. So I am going to assume I am already out this cycle and quit temping for now. It's just going to drive me crazy.
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): OPKs, checking CM, HIO
How are things going?: OK. Very frustrated with my BBT situation and paranoid that maybe O didn't happen and I am anxious thinking something is wrong, like my ovaries are failing or something. Other than the anxiety, I am trying to look ahead to IVF with a positive attitude.
Any questions?: Nope.
GTKY: what's a positive thing that has happened to you during the quarantine/pandemic? DH and I are enjoying our time together, and since we are both teachers, we've really been a great support to each other. I taught myself some new crochet stitches, too! I only knew the single crochet before now, so I'm excited to have a whole new category of crafts I can make! Last night I was watching a tutorial on how to crochet snowflakes. My Christmas decor is abut to get an upgrade!
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO!
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): OPK, Preseed (internally), Tracking CM, PNV and EOD
How are things going?: Overall pretty well! Feeling optimistic (not hopeful... big difference!) about trying again. I need to talk to DH still but I think I want us to try on our own for the summer and then start back up with the RE for IUIs in September (probably going back in August for another round of testing since it will be over a year since I had all my B/W done). I'm really curious to see how these OPKs indicate how my body's LH levels work.... It's early on and the line was already on the darker side... I have a feeling I'm going to be very confused most of the time haha
Any questions?:
GTKY: what's a positive thing that has happened to you during the quarantine/pandemic? You all know I'm a pretty positive person to begin with... I always try and look for the bright side of things but this whole quarantine thing has strengthened that even more. I've also noticed I've had more patience for things thanks to all of this, which is something I've been wanting to work on for a while. I really am enjoying the simpler and slower pace of life.

@gingermama29 I'm glad you've joined us over here (well, not glad that you have to be over here but you know what I mean!) I'm happy you're working with your OB on your long cycles and I really hope the BP helps get things back in balance for you.
@inthewoods23 I'm loving my skincare routine during quarantine too!
@misshelen86 those baking creations sound amazing!!! That is frustrating about the SA not being able to be done yet, ugh I hope it can happen soon for you guys.
@shoogapoff That's so exciting about the new position/job!! I hope it's exactly what you want and need it to be!
@ramzlau I'm glad you're able to find some positive in the natural cycles you've been doing and that your body is feeling back to normal again! It's important for that to happen, I think!
@bluetickgal Friend, rid yourself of those negative thoughts!!! It's too early to know anything so you should just treat yourself like it worked!
@emeraldduchess ugh the BBT thing is really frustrating, I am sure. This is one of the biggest reasons I don't bother with temping, I'm just not convinced it's worth the extra frustration when TTC is frustrating enough to begin with.

@ramzlau That’s interesting about COVID-19 being potentially transmitted in semen. I don’t think that’s the reason we can’t get the SA yet though since we won’t be actually doing anything with the sperm.. it’s just to check on the count. Sorry that you’re feeling emotionally done with all this. Know that you aren’t alone in how you are feeling
@bluetickgal Glad you’ve enjoyed the extra time with YH. Sorry you aren’t feeling very hopeful for this cycle.. sending you positive vibes and hugs!
@emeraldduchess Sorry about all the anxiety and the frustrating cycle. Hugs to you, friend! Glad you have an outlet in your crocheting and the snowflakes sound awesome!
@kpearse99 Glad you are feeling optimistic and have a plan in place that you are happy with. It’s great to hear that this pandemic has strengthened you even more. You are amazing!
TTC since 9/2018
10/19- First RE visit
2/20- DH had surgery for bilateral varicoceles
7/20- IUI with 5 mg letrozole- BFN
9/20- IVF. 9 eggs retrieved, 9 mature, 8 fertilized with ICSI, 7 blasts, 4 PGT-A normal
11/20- Mock transfer/ERA
12/20- FET #1- transferred one 4AB- BFN
3/21- FET #2- transferred one 3AB- BFP! Due Dec 2021
12/21- Baby girl born!
@kpearse99 I'm glad you're feeling optimistic.
@bluetickgal I'm sorry you're not feeling good about your IUI. But I am so glad that you were able to have it done, and I am hopeful for you! I think you're in that phase of the TWW where I also get pretty pessimistic. So it's normal. But I am crossing everything that this is it for you!
@ramzlau Yay! So glad you're getting started with your RE. Keep us updated!
@kpearse99 thank you friend 💕. Your TTC plan sounds good! I'm glad you're feeling optimistic about things.
@emeraldduchess sorry your BBT has been dumb. Hopefully you just missed a positive OPK because of the time you took the tests. I expect to see lots of cool stuff from you in the crafting thread with those new crochet stitches! I really need to pick that back up and learn it. My grandma had gifted me some yarn and a beginners kit with a book and a partially started scarf to get me going... and then one day I decided I wanted to start fresh and unraveled the whole thing
@kpearse99 I wish my life had a slower pace! Work is making that hard. I definitely feel I have more time for things now though and it's so nice. Sounds like you and I are thinking the same with giving ourselves the summer to try on our own. The pandemic sucks, but I do appreciate the break it has given us, especially in financial terms. I'm actually not better about my routine (I barely "take it off" at night still, whoops), but I am using products better suited to my skin! I just want to go out without feeling I need foundation on!
@shoogapoff I'm in The Skincare Connection FB group and that's what got me started on using chemical exfoliants and CeraVe products. I took the plunge on buying some of The Ordinary products after I got hooked on watching Skincare by Hyram on YouTube. I don't know what lead me to his channel, but I really like it! I was definitely overwhelmed at their options too. So many items with some seeming like they do the same things so of course which is best for me?! Maybe tomorrow we can set up a GTKY of our favorite skincare products and even give some product recs!

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Trying naturally. Eliminating some meds to see how it affects my bloodwork.
How are things going?: Uuuggghhh... Eeeeeewwww... all the sounds that describe pure blah-ness. Have been having so many thoughts of doubt recently that this will ever work. The extended time away from doing active treatment has really taken a toll on my eternally optimistic outlook. Time feels like precious water just dripping through my fingers... My clinic confirmed that they are doing U/Ss for new patients only starting at the end of this month (WTF?!), and won't begin IUIs until the end of June, so I may as well wait till then to go straight to the egg retrieval--which may or may not get scheduled for end of June. I have another birthday in a few days so I am seriously stressing about these delays. Plus I'm part of a group online where all these women are traveling for cheap treatment in NY; it feels so unfair that some are going right ahead with no delays while my state is severely limiting/delaying treatment options.
Any questions?: Has anyone heard how they're going to screen for COVID in sperm? My clinic mentioned that will need to happen, but didn't say how.
GTKY: What's a positive thing that has happened to you during the quarantine/pandemic? I've lost weight, which was a major goal before becoming PG. Maybe that will be my key to success.🙄
@gingermama29 FX the BC gets the job done!! Your hesitancy is totally understandable. If I were in your shoes I’d approach it as, I will try BC for these 3 months, then try naturally for 3 months after that, but if not successful then skip the plan for BC for the next 3 months & go straight to medicated cycles. Just my opinion that you did not ask for.😉
@inthewoods23 Woohoo for a blazing OPK! (Your update in the dailies.) That BBT article you mentioned sounds like the lady is just practicing a basic FAM method? If only that were our problem...Yay for not needing makeup! #wokeuplikethis😊
@misshelen86 Sorry for the delay on YH’s SA—beyond annoying!!! And Ooooh, please share the GF cookie recipe! (Should I check the baking/craft thread?)
@shoogapoff Congrats on the new gig!! You made it happen. Hope it all starts to settle down soon. We are here whenever you have time to check in, no stress.
@bluetickgal Try to think positively about implantation. Hopefully the nice weather will boost your spirits.
@emeraldduchess Sorry for the unclear bbt readings. That is frustrating. But yay for new crochet stitches to keep you occupied/ease anxiety with its soothing effect.
*Edited to add spacing.
ETA: forgot I was going to add another comment... I realized if I ovulate in the next day or 2.... AF is going to be due right around my failed FETs due date and I'm not sure if I should be hopeful or sad about that. I would be pretty sweet to test and get a positive on such a significant date. For now though, I need to focus on HIO!

How are things going?: my last urine analysis comes back positive. E. coli it is... so I had been taking the wrong antibiotics ugh!
And just had my second scan this morning. Lining is looking great per my RE, so we are still on schedule for an late May transfer.
Any questions?: natm
GTKY: what's a positive thing that has happened to you during the quarantine/pandemic? I get to nap whenever I want!
@mvt2003 abs workout! I heard it will help blood circulation for the reproduction system. Great thing!
@gingermama29 hi! Sorry to see you here, but this is indeed an awesome supportive group. I hope BC helps regulating your cycle and the time on BC passes quickly!
@inthewoods23 I am the opposite! After quarantine I became super lazy and some days I skipped morning routine at all...
@misshelen86 ugh it’s so annoying that YH can’t do SA. But glad things are back on track gradually & hope he can get in soon!
@shoogapoff congratulations on the new job!!
@ramzlau I known! I enjoyed my time when I was off hormone drugs. Both a physical break and a mental break. Glad your clinic is open up again!
@bluetickgal I will keep my fingers crossed for you! I stayed off social media too.
@emeraldduchess sorry for the wonky temperature... it’s so frustrating!
@kpearse99 glad you are feeling optimistic about trying again. Hope it works out for you trying out naturally this summer and you won’t need to go to the RE’s!
@keikilove sorry for the delay to start treatment! It doesn’t make sense to me if the clinic is doing US for new patients while can’t do existing patients’ treatment... I hope time goes by fast and you will be able to do a June egg retrieval!

@gingermama29 sorry you find yourself here, but welcome. I can only imagine how tough it must be to feel like you're taking a step backward and pausing instead of moving forward. I hope these three months speed by for you!!
@inthewoods23 I am inspired by your and others' posts on skincare... I really should do more with my skin and hair. I feel like I'm just as lazy as ever and it's not a good look lol
@misshelen86 so glad you're getting ready to start actively trying again! Hopefully your RE's office will start doing SAs soon. Right now mine is having people only drop off samples (instead of producing them there), maybe they will start doing that soon
@shoogapoff congrats on the new position!
@ramzlau hooray for your RE opening up again!
@emeraldduchess sorry your temps aren't lining up the way they should. I have such a love-hate relationship with temping, lol. I like having the information but I always get so anxious whenever my temps seem off.
@kpearse99 I admire you for gaining more patience during this time! I've definitely been going in the opposite direction.
@bluetickgal just let the rest of us be optimistic for you! I'm keeping my fingers crossed
@keikilove happy almost birthday! I am also impressed by you being able to lose weight! I've been stress eating like nobody's business lol. My RE's office didn't say anything about checking sperm for COVID, though it seems like things change very quickly these days so maybe it'll come up before my IUI.
@pom9207 ugh I hate that you still have the UTI but it's good that they now know which specific antibiotic to use! Hope you feel better quickly and I'm glad things are still looking good for your transfer

GTKY: what's a positive thing that has happened to you during the quarantine/pandemic? Like @gingermama29, our family has been more intentional about doing zoom chats which has been so nice. AFM: RE consult today went well! We are starting new treatment tomorrow. We will do 3 more IUIs then move onto IVF in Jan if not pregnant by then (my insurance covers it starting in Jan). Some stats she gave me made me hopeful one of these IUIs might work. At my age (AMA) just a little over 1/3 cycles will have a viable egg. An IUI has about an 11% chance of working given our factors (age, sperm quality, history, Etc). So hopefully it’s just a matter of timing the good egg with the right conditions. And given that we have only done 3 cycles, probably only 1 of those eggs was viable and so if timing or anything was off that cycle, it was a failure.
@ramzlau glad your consult went well today and you feel good about the plan and your chances! Fingers crossed one of those IUI’s lines up perfectly with a great egg!!
