Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: cherry?
Upcoming appointments: next is 6/3
How are you feeling?: changes seemingly hourly. I spend an inordinate amount of emotional energy fuming at other people but keeping it all inside my own head. I can't tell if it's the pregnancy or the quarantine making me so irritable. Also nauseous, but still haven't actually vomited yet.
Rants/Raves: Rant: I had to 'make' my own mother's day lunch. Rave: at least that meant I got what I wanted, which was drive-thru Panera. DH is theoretically grilling burgers for dinner, so I may be back with more rant/rave later.
Questions: nope
GTKY: What was the last non-pregnancy/parenting book you read? I alternate fiction (mostly sci-fantasy) and non-fiction. Currently reading slowspoke a unicyclists guide to America (non-fiction). My fiction was state of the art by Iain m banks, book 5 of 12 in his culture series.
Upcoming appointments: Tomorrow! Excited for our update
How are you feeling?: Changes day to day. Good days are great but the bad days are pretty rough.
Rants/Raves: All these people are walking their dogs off leash in my neighborhood, not even in parks, just on the sidewalk. As a responsible dog owner, it makes me crazy! Why risk your dog going after something or getting hit or running up to someone who’s scared of it just because you don’t want to hold a leash? Especially now! Drives me nuts.
Questions: None right now!
GTKY: What was the last non-pregnancy/parenting book you read?: I’ve slowly been working my way through “Braiding Sweetgrass,” it’s ecology and indigenous folklore combined, pretty cool!
@laurenspdx. Lurking from a different week, but I hear your rant. In our case, we have a dog that many people are scared of the breed, so we are always on a leash. But so many people do not. There is also a lot of trust required that your dog will come back, leave something alone, sit or whatever. I am more nervous about how unpredictable people are than with how our dog will react.
Team Green/Pink/Blue: Green for as long as I can hold out
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: A cherry
Upcoming appointments: Today at 5:30!
How are you feeling?: Tired, no energy and randomly nauseous. I also wake up light headed in the morning a lot.
Rants/Raves: I hate how this pandemic has ruined going to appointments together. It also makes my nerves worse being there alone but I understand why its done.
Questions: None yet.
GTKY: What was the last non-pregnancy/parenting book you read? A curriculum book for what I'm teaching. Nothing crazy lol
Team Green/Pink/Blue: Team finding out - although I keep talking to the baby and referring to it as baby girl on accident
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Olive
Upcoming appointments: NT Ultrasound 5/28
How are you feeling?: Still feeling sick most of the time. Trying really hard to eat three meals a day, but I either feel sick or I'm not hungry. Had a really severe bout of nausea last night after dinner, and had to lay on the couch with a cold compress for an hour before I could even think of moving.
Rants/Raves: Last week of estrogen and progesterone! Only 4 more PIO injections to go!!!
Questions: Nope
GTKY: What was the last non-pregnancy/parenting book you read? The Flight Attendant by Chris Bohjalian
@sejica - Ohhh I love panera! I hope your DH made dinner last night!
@laurenspdx - Off leash dogs make me nervous, because I have a rescue (tiny 8 lb maltese) that is not friendly with other dogs! He loves people, but unfortunately he bites other dogs (he only gets along with his brother).
@jbal918 - It really stinks that our husbands/partners are not allowed to come to appointments with us. My RE's office wasn't even allowing me to facetime with him or video the ultrasound so he could see it. You would think that they would make allowances for this under these special circumstances. Hoping my OB's office will be different.
Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: December 10, 2020 according to my ultrasound 9weeks4days
FTM/STM/STM+: FTM!
Team Green/Pink/Blue: I think it’s pink but I’m happy with any healthy baby!
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a Tater tot!
Upcoming appointments: midwife intake appt is May 26th! And my next ultrasound same day!
How are you feeling?: very tired. Nauseated
Rants/Raves: I can’t wait for the exhaustion and nausea to subside so I can go back to working out and eating healthier. Bagels and walks are NOT enough for me to feel good lol
Questions: I told most of my family we are pregnant but I’m still going to wait until I’m passed 12 weeks to tell the rest of the world but I must say I feel so relieved having other people know and being able to share my excitement! Anyone else feel like this!?
GTKY: What was the last non-pregnancy/parenting book you read? Worth the wait (a st. James book) very easy cheesy romance novel that kept my mind off all things pregnancy during the first month and a half!
@feather_heather I have a Maltese bichon mix and other off leash doggos make me very nervous too because of how little he is! @laurenspdx how did ur appt go!
@jbal918 very thankful DH got to come for the first ultrasound but I’m on my own for the rest!
@tryingktogku It went so great thanks! We saw our little peanut waving at us and kicking its little leg. And got to hear the heartbeat! And, best of all, the midwife said the SCH/second empty sac had resolved (it was causing spotting early on).
Also I hear you on the food and working out. I cannot wait to have the energy to work out again (I was cleared to start again today!) and to feel good enough to eat healthy food. I just don’t feel like myself without it. A couple weeks hopefully!!
@tryingktogku I told so many more people much earlier with my second, because this is just the kind of news I prefer to share in person, and with the quarantine, well, just not possible. It's going to be a long time before I'm showing on zoom calls, so I'll probably make a FB post around 15 weeks once I know the sex, but I feel bad that I won't have told my cousins ahead of time.
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: green olive, which makes me crave a martini.
Upcoming appointments: Next OB appointment 5/20
How are you feeling?: Huge. Just bloated and gross. Some food/smell aversions, severe exhaustion the past couple of days. Otherwise all is well.
Rants/Raves: My friend invited me to her DD’s birthday pool party and the thought of putting on a swimming suit right now makes me want to hurl worse than the smell of Greek yogurt in the morning.
Questions: nada
GTKY: What was the last non-pregnancy/parenting book you read? This always sounds pretentious but I am a genuine fan of Jane Austen and her books are easy to read because I’ve read them often, so I’m re-reading Emma right now. My favorite!
@tryingktogku I’ve already told my immediate family and most of my closest friends. It was such a relief and I love having people share in our joy!
@sejica I was thinking of waiting to post on social media until I know the sex too sometime between 15-20 weeks! But I think I’ll tell my friends after my 12 weeks are up! So everyone will know but acquaintances lol
@cassafrass15 we told pretty much all our immediate family on no there day and it was really nice! Have everyone something happy and positive to focus on instead of COVID! And I hear you about wearing a bathing suit does not sound like fun with the bloat lol
@laurenspdx ahh that’s so exiting! And I know the nausea hasn’t been as horrible yesterday or today and I’m just about 10 weeks so just two more to go and hopefully things change! It’s funny how you want the symptoms because they make you feel pregnant but you also don’t want them because they make u feel awful lol!
@tryingktogku Exactly! The nausea was so reassuring but I’m ready to not be throwing up every day. I am starting to get a little bump, though (only I can notice at this point), which also helps provide some of that “ok, I’m pregnant” feeling instead.
