Re: May Symptoms

  • Feeling a lot better!
    - Nausea has subsided a lot. I only feel bad now if I don’t eat as soon as I’m hungry or from post nasal drip and the subsequent coughing.
    - Heartburn is definitely happening regularly and I just can’t keep myself away from spice, it’s in my dna. lol.
    - Round ligament pain is still horrible!

If I thought I had few symptoms before.... everything feels really normal except that my breasts still hurt.

I’m almost scared to say nausea has faded and if I make sure I eat or have a snack every 2-3 hours I feel fine. Heartburn is definitely showing up but tums seem to help quickly and my breasts are super sore in the mornings! I hate to admit that without nausea I don’t feel pregnant haha. My sex drive is also back. Hopefully I can enjoy this trimester☺️

I’m glad to see the comment about not feeling pregnant without the nausea. It has eased significantly this week (13) and I haven’t actually thrown up for over a week. I was literally sobbing that I couldn’t stand the nausea but now that it’s fading I’m worried about it fading. I don’t think I’m capable of being rational right now lol heartburn has started, not too much round ligament pain but I have had it in past weeks, and breasts are still tender.
  • Nausea has gone down, sense of smell is still crazy. Our dog came home from the groomer and I can barely stand being in the same room as her. And yesterday our neighbor was smoking a cigar on his BACK porch, and I could smell it in my FRONT yard!

  • @mimser I’m with ya, lady! My breasts aren’t even that sore lately just heavy feeling.

  • My nausea seems to be getting better...still dealing with fatigue though. Then again my sleep schedule is completely wrecked so that could be part of it. My newest unwelcome symptom is constipation! I never had this with my other pregnancies so yay for me. The round ligament pain is real!! I’m also getting backaches already which makes me nervous, lol. With my last pregnancy I had really severe hip pain, they felt like they were literally broken and by the end of the day I was hobbling around like an old woman, and I think it started around the second trimester so I’m nervous about that.
  • I am anxiously awaiting my nausea to subside. The Last two days I've had nausea with heartburn and spontaneous vomiting. I'm on medication for the nausea but it makes me sleep and my husband went back to work so I gotta keep my little one alive. Cant wait for this stage to be done!!
  • @kitkatz1990 ugh the constipation has hit me hard. I finally went a little bit yesterday after 3 days of nothing. I'm usually a once-a-day'er. This is bull crap lol.

I haven't had many symptoms this entire pregnancy but I've definitely felt more alive the past week. It's been easier to chase around my toddler. Otherwise my boobs are gigantic and I've had terrible RLP. This pregnancy has been even easier then my pregnancy with DS so far. Feeling incredibly lucky!
  • @kitkatz1990 @dumbledoredies The constipation is real here too 😭 I've been taking a colace a day, which helps, but it's still been pretty miserable.

Otherwise, my boobs are already getting big, my belly is getting big, I have some RLP and sometimes my stomach/appetite are still a little off, but otherwise pretty normal at this point.

  • @hedgepig I forgot about colace! I lived off of it after DS was born. I'm going to have to get some and see if that helps.

My sense of smell is AWFUL and has been since day 1. With my 1st which was a girl I didn’t have any sensitivity to smells, now pregnant with a boy and OMG I hate going outside!

  • @wychets I feel your pain!! Not too many smells bothered me when I was pregnant last time.... but this time, I smell EVERYTHING. MH got DD this watermelon and strawberry gum and every time she chews it I’m like “please go in the other room.” Also, the other day, I warmed up some left over mashed potatoes for dinner. They were home made and I had eaten them at least 3 times but for whatever reason, this time the smell was so overwhelming that I started dry heaving and just decided I wasn’t eating them for dinner after all!!
  • wychetswychets member
Yes!!! My daughter has all these little lotion and sanitizers from bath and body works and I’m like “pleaseeeeee don’t use those right now!!” Ugh! Hopefully it goes away soon!

I'm going to start an antacid on top of my anti-nausea meds. I remember it helping with my other preganancies and got some recommendations from my CNM yesterday since zantac is off the table now. She said I could take zofran on bad days but even with magnesium the constipation is so bad with zofran that I want to avoid it if I can.  I've been awful this week! Gotten much sicker than previous weeks and so exhausted. Also, the bloating is unreal. I look 6 months pregnant and am so uncomfortable when I go to bed then wake up and it's back down.  I'm trying to figure out which foods are making it bad and increasing my water intake. Also, I'm getting out of breath so easily. Anyone else having that? I'm not doing anything intense or strenuous and will suddenly sound like I've just run several miles.
  • @kelk5 I feel like I am already having a hard time with breathing/getting short of breath too. Like nothing is pushing my diaphragm up so what's going on🤦‍♀️

All evening upset (ate too much feeling). If I don't eat dinner by 430 I'm doomed.

Dull headache almost every evening and a migraine the other day..

Now that I can stomach coffee again the bathroom problems are not as bad! 🤣

    I just feel blah
  • kelk5kelk5 member
@BabyL52716 I know it's just like why? It seems way to early to get short of breath. Sorry you are having headaches.
  • Is anyone else all of a sudden hungry allllll the time?! I go to bed hungry, I wake up hungry, I eat and I’m still hungry. Whaaaaaaatttt is happening?!
  • @dumbledoredies hahahaha I love it! I just told my husband I am going to get huge if this continues lol!
  • @jaclyn0405 it takes SOOOOOO much self control to not eat everything in sight. Especially in the second trimester. I feel like this pregnancy is going to be easier to control weight gain though since I cant give in to every craving due to this dumb virus. Or maybe it will be harder because I'm bored at home 🤔
  • @dumbledoredies yes I hear you! I have been trying to eat healthy things: Raisin Bran, bananas, strawberries, plain greek yogurt, granola, string cheese, grapes, etc. Then if I eat a lot of it, I don't feel as bad lol.  It's weird I haven't had any crazy cravings per se, like give me this right now type of things, but just food.  Lots of food lol.
  • At 14.5 weeks, my biggest symptoms are cramping/stretching in my lower abdomen and pelvis, swollen breasts, headaches, easily tearful, and dizziness, which kicked in last night. I'm so grateful the nausea and extreme fatigue have subsided, but I'm still napping and going to bed early. And I found I'm not eating as constantly since I'm not fighting to keep the queasies at bay. So far, second trimester is mostly a relief but still uncomfortable!!
  • 11+0 with twins, wtf... The insomnia had decided to up the ante by adding night sweats for the past few days!

  • Short of breath every time I climb a flight of stairs...not ideal considering we are in the process of moving so I’m CONSTANTLY going up and down these bad boys in our rental and the new house.
I think I’m starting to deal with some reflux too. That’s super NOT fun.

  • I went to bed with a terrible headache and it’s still sticking around this afternoon. Also I flossed my teeth this morning and I feel like I had a really rough dental cleaning from a hygienist who wanted to punish me. Is this a pregnancy symptom? Feeling lovely all around 😑.
  • @surlyjaneausten I had a headache that lasted 2 days and bordered on migraine potential by the end of day two. I took 325mg acetaminophen and sat with a warm heat pad (microwavable thing my mom gave me years back) around my shoulders/neck. It was gone the next morning.

  • @lovelee3 thank you! It’s starting to feel better after I took more Tylenol but I’ll try the heat next time too.
  • The RLP is real! I ran 2 miles on 2 back to back days and was in serious pain last night! 😑 Also, I’m finding it to be true, that you show quicker with subsequent pregnancies. I am 13+4 and my belly looks like it did with my first around 20 weeks. I’m claiming muscle memory for sure. 🙌🏻
  • kelk5kelk5 member
@surlyjaneausten my gums will bleed easily  during pregnancy. I think it's another hormone thing.

I feel huge today, pretty much all of a sudden. My stomach feels like tight and uncomfortable too :(
  • These headaches. 😩 Nausea is getting better but not gone. Fatigue is still there too. Yesterday I took two 2-hour naps! I’m starting to get that 2nd trimester hunger too! I get full really fast but then I’m starving 20 min later.

@bserena I was feeling that way the other day and then I swear I was bigger the next day! Growth spurt, lol!
  • bserenabserena member
@kitkatz1990 I am a FTM and always hear that most FTMs don't start showing til later on so I wasn't expecting this, lol! And I am with you on the hunger. I feel starved but can only eat a little bit before I feel stuffed, and then am hungry again not long after.
  • @kitkatz1990 and @bserena YES!!! I’m at FTM too and I have days I feel like a hot air balloon — large and in charge. And I’ll be soooo hungry then eat a tiny bit and then feel like I’m stuffed to the brim. I’ve been Abe to control that a bit more recently.

I have been getting these wicked lightheaded spells recently. Like right now I’m sitting here on the couch trying to get my sugars up in the smart way. But it’s like I get faint all of a sudden if I stand up too quick. I HATE IT. And the headaches 😓🙄. Tylenol doesn’t do JACK for me —I’m an ibuprofen girl but obviously can’t do that. Pretty much everything else has mostly, if not completely gone away thank goodness. I’ve just been blessed with these weird goodies now. 😓
  • @mama-buckets I feel you on the headaches.  The only thing that has worked for me is my essential oil "headache" roller I blended up because like you Tylenol doesn't do anything for me!

  • Is anyone else having a lot of lower back pain? I'm trying to figure out if it's  from sitting around too much or not sitting around enough or *TW* if it has something to do with my spotting*end*

Just need some reassurance if I'm not the only one experiencing it.
  • mimsermimser member
@dumbledoredies I think I had some lower back pain earlier on, on and off, and then around week 12
  • @dumbledoredies Mine is mostly mid back, but I understand it's pretty normal. I was told that for every 10 lbs gained in the abdomen it puts 100 lbs of pressure on your back.

  • @dumbledoredies I have scoliosis and it has literally flared up WAY sooner this time around.  It also never bothered me until I did the epidural route with DD, so I think I am just screwed in general.  But the little belly I have going on is already throwing off my equilibrium.  Ugh!
