@RedBaramid we bought DS1 crib (3 in 1: crib, toddler bed and full bed) from wayfair 6 years ago, he used it up until last year when we bought him a big boy bed. We contemplating using it as his big boy bed but knew we planned to grow our family so we bought him a new bed instead. The crib is still in great condition and it will be used for this baby.
@psychobutthead I am sorry for your loss. We also have some family losses too, my grandmother passed a few weeks ago and my MIL passed away on Sunday. Both wanted to be cremated so a service will be on hold until after COVID but who knows when that will be.

Man oh man today has been wild. Started out with the kid waking up early.. then she managed to trip over a curtain in her bedroom and rip the rod down.. that smacked her straight in the face and now it looks like she's gotten herself into a bar brawl. Jury is still out on if we decide she participates in her digital karate class today.. she got upset about the idea of other people seeing her with her black eye and scrape on her nose. Part of me wants to be like "Baby girl, it builds character" and part of me remembers my mom forcing me to go to school with my lip split from a softball accident and hating her for it. We've still got a couple hours to decide if we're gonna attend or not though. In the meantime she's been curled up on the couch with an ice pack on and off all day.
Aww, poor thing @RedBaramid I agree if you can help her come around to it rather than force her, it's much better. The thumbnails must be tiny in a digital class! Would anyone even notice? I'm sure they will be far too busy focusing on their own thing and trying not to look foolish, to worry about anybody else. ;)

These times are difficult enough, it makes it so much harder to be coping with a family tragedy at the same time. You have all of our positive thoughts and love coming your way.
@RedBaramid Poor kiddo! Sounds like she wouldn't be game for making a "You should see the other guy" joke. Hopefully she comes around on her own, but I can understand her hesitation as a former extremely self-conscious kid myself.
@riatortillaxo Decision got made for us, got an email an hour before class time stating that due to a significant drop in enthusiasm and some pending construction work that was going to be happening at the Dojo (where the teacher broadcasts from) that he was cancelling all digital classes for the week. Pretty lucky timing if you ask me.
@pengy16 im so sorry for your losses. This is a horrible time. We have no idea when a memorial service can be held at this point. i hope you and your partner are ok during this time.

Today was a pretty rough day for homeschooling. My daughter decided to tell my husband that I did nothing at all today which isn't true.
I'm so worn out. I feel like I could sleep for 100 years today.

Good news to share during all this covid trouble we adopted a 1 1/2 year old dog from the shelter who was found wandering on her own. We brought her home 2 weeks ago. Her foster family wasn't very great to her.

I’ve been MIA this week trying to plan, prep, and execute the best quarantine 5th birthday for my son, which was today.
My husband reached out to our local Chick-fil-A and told them about my son’s wretched luck with birthdays (we have had to cancel 3 out of 5 of them). The CFA invited us to have a party in the parking lot. They hung a birthday banner with his name, brought out the cow (and maintained a socially appropriate distance from the kids), and provided 23 desserts to our friends that came! My favorite part was that the employees that came anywhere near us were all appropriately fit with PPE!
We were able to park in a row and across from each other and set up our trunks and chat and be with each other safely.
My son loved seeing his friends and eating ice cream in the back of the van.
We also had two “parades” come through. One of his school friends and one of our family.
He truly had a memorable day. And I am forever grateful to Chick-fil-A for making him feel like a million bucks.

@psychobutthead This year was cancelled for corona virus, last year we had planned a Disney hotel weekend but we all got a horrible stomach bug and had to go home, and his second birthday was the week of my dad’s accident that left him paralyzed. Also, I’m very sorry to read about your aunt’s passing.

Today is my birthday and I am excited because I am leaving the house to pick up lunch. It's from a local Italian restaurant and they make the best carbonara! H has been awesome today. He's done laundry and loaded the dishwasher. I'm feeling pretty pampered even tho it's not what we would normally do.

So much uncertainty in my world. DH is a pilot for a major airline and, unfortunately, it’s looking pretty doom and gloom for the airlines. It’s likely he’ll be furloughed come October. So now he’s already starting to apply for other jobs (falling back on his prior military experience), and we will most likely have to move. It stinks, because we just moved across the country last year and we were really hoping to plant roots. If he gets one of these jobs, we’ll either be moving my third trimester or when baby’s a newborn/infant. Eek! The job will last a few years then we’ll move back again (just rent out our current house). All of this is crazy but we want to get ahead of this before the market is all of a sudden flooded with furloughed pilots. Ugh. Life is crazy.
Bright side, DH is on a leave of absence with his airline and home with us every day. It’s incredible getting so much time together- along with DD- before baby brother William joins the party. ❤️
Oh boy @babytimeagain that is a lot to take in. It's wonderful you have so much to fall back on, tho. (((Hugs))) it might be a little crazy, but it'll be okay. Even newborns are highly portable!!! :o
AFM, I've been on hold I can't even tell you how long now (and not napping, which is what I'd like to be doing) while DD naps... LSS we never got great cell service in this house since moving here, so our phone provider sent us some kind of signal booster that helped. But ever since we moved our computer last week and had to temporarily disconnect the booster, I guess it hasn't been working. We've just been relying on Wi-Fi calling, which is also annoying though, because the calls will just drop randomly. It's very frustrating! And Iz tirdezzzz!!! :s
@tyrion_ Man. Of course, they did. I would expect nothing less from Chik-Fil-A. That is seriously the most amazing birthday, quarantine or not. Got me right in the feels. Amazing!

We moved states when I was nine months pregnant with DD, and it was not a party, but it was doable! Glad you've been taking advantage of the extra family time. Things will work out. Sending hugs!

@riatortillaxo I'm a sucker for a pound puppy. Our first dog was a puppy from a puppy mill. At the tike we didn't really know much about that. He had a ton ofbhealth problems and died pretty young for his breed. After him I swore we would only adopt from now on. Now we have 2 pound puppies that have been great dogs!

@psychobutthead ugh. No, I did not. :/ It was close to 2 hrs I waited before DH came home and was in a tizzy and couldn't take the hold music so I gave up. Idk if I would have better luck messaging through the app next time, or trying at a different time of day? Sigh. At least I was able to move into the family room with chips and salsa? So not quite as glorious as a nap, but I'll take it. 👍
@BusinessWife i usually try customer service as soon as they start whatever time that is. Stay busy cooking or doing dishes while you wait. It will still suck but at least you wont feel like you are wasting time.

BusinessWife the past few months our cell service has dropped to the point where we can't make regular phone calls in certain parts of the house. Luckily a lot of the people we know have iphones so we just use factime audio to call a lot of people. My husband thinks that maybe our provider sold a tower near by and that's why the service dropped. I seem to always live in a house with poor cell service, so that was a factor into why we bought our current house. I didn't even know that a signal booster existed. I may just give our provider a call and ask them if they can provide us with one.
babytimeagain I'm sorry that you have so many moving factors that may take place during your third tri. But it's great that you all are planning early to make sure that your family is taken care of. I cannot imagine moving, especially across the country, in my third tri, but I know women that have done it and it be fine. Luckily babies don't need much at first so it can give you some time to adjust.
