Apparently my mom and MIL talked for like an hour this weekend about the news. That is a total first for them to engage outside of my husband and I. My MIL apparently had some name suggestions, but my mom won't tell me what they were. Feel like we may be jumping the gun a bit!
My husband was up at 5 am did the dishes and mopped. Not sure why he did this but I am so glad he did. Helped me be a little happier on this gloomy Monday.
My doctor said to try B6 and unisom as a way to combat nausea. She recommended 25mg of B6, but I am having a hard time finding that dosage (at least in a brand I have heard of). Anyone currently taking it and has a good brand? Should I just get 50mg and cut in half?
@tryingktogku I had a pretty good idea of what we needed vs what we had from my son, so I think my registry is close to done. He's little enough that a lot of my mom friends are going / recently went through round 2, so I have kept abreast of changes in gear - and a few things I need because they wore out or were disposable
@dobiemom11 I could not find a smaller size either. I bought a pill cutter (literally just a razor blade in a box) and cut mine in half. I don't bother with the unisom, I'm already tired enough. At least for me the B6 helps a lot.
@dobiemom11 I ordered one called “morning sickness relief” off Amazon. It has a pink label and a woman kissing a baby on the label. I think I searched 25 mg b6. I have no idea how I picked it, but it’s been helping paired with Unisom so far.
@emmaknits. Thanks I ended up calling my doctor and they pointed me to a particular one. She said it might be hard to split the larger pills. A whole bunch of the ones I was looking at had warnings for pregnant women not to take them. That was a little disconcerting, but I think it was just a generic warning rather than anything specific. This bottle will get me through a month and I can always order the brand you got next time. Glad it is helping. Today was no joke!
Our SIP was extended through the end of May, but some rules have relaxed...including daycare's are allowed to open and ours will be opening May 4th! At first I'm like WOOHOOO back to school for DD!! But then I'm like uhhhggg do we really want to send her back? New protocols are being put in place for drop off/pick up along with extra cleaning/sanitation. Working from home with her has been super hard, but also it's kinda been nice being around her so much...I think we will send her back, even if it's more compacted..like after breakfast and then pick up her up after nap time. She will enjoy seeing her friends again so much! Even though drop off will be rough the first few days!

@bearmomma1 I put my son back at the sitters starting Monday. I needed it. Work is starting to fall apart, and I am SO tired. I'm planning every other day for a half day to start, so I can keep an eye on every one's health with the transition back, and it's not too much all at once. I'm keeping him out of school though, even if they do re open.
I'm only keeping my son home because my husband has been furloughed so he basically handles a majority of the house workload while I'm working. If he was still working I probably would have put kiddo back in school (it's mostly an outdoor school anyway).
Sorry I’ve been MIA for a few days! The GD numbers aren’t staying low, even with things I eat so my OB already thinks insulin will be in my future but the feeling from it is just kicking my energy so bad.
@bearmomma1 They need some social interaction but as long as no one there has it, and they are following protocols, hopefully he’s good! Our daycares are only taking essential worker kids right now but DH and I are both working from home.
Is anyone team green? With DS, I wanted to know immediately but with this LO, I haven’t had any urge to actually know. Although, that could change once I get bloodwork back lol
Ok, I’m getting really nervous and scared about my appt tomorrow. I had a Pap test done like about 7-8 weeks ago now and a couple weeks ago the results came back as “abnormal” and they said the cells looked unhealthy:( So now they want me to go in for a Colposcopy at the hospital tomorrow to check my cervix to make sure everything is ok and rule out cervical cancer. They will do the test and if everything still looks bad they will have to cut a piece off my cervix for a biopsy and send it to the lab to see what it is. I’m not looking forward to going to the hospital because of Covid and I really don’t want to have the procedure done as I’m scared it’s going to hurt and I’m scared it’s going to cause me to spot and bleed afterwards because they will be cutting and scrapping in there and if I see blood I’m going to freak out with anxiety due to my previous MC. I really want this over with and I’m really praying that this is not cancer as being pregnant and having cancer wouldn’t be a very good thing 😢 I’m trying to stay positive that everything will be ok. Has anyone ever had one of these tests done before? Was everything ok and did it hurt?
@mindyb2019 this procedure will more than likely cause you to spot/ bleed some try and mentally prepare yourself for that now. It will however not hurt the baby. I am so sorry you are going through this but be assured lots of times when a “pap” comes back abnormal the biopsy does come back normal.
@mindyb2019 I've had an abnormal pap before, and they just had be come back to re-test a few weeks or months later (it was a while ago, so i can't remember). Then the next pap came back normal. Maybe they're rushing to the next step of a colposcopy because you're pregnant? My friend had one and her results came back normal. Thinking of you!

I had an abnormal pap years ago and then had the colposcopy, wasn't too bad, quick pinch yes painful but quick and minimal spotting, but atleast you can expect it. Those results came back normal!
@mindyb2019 I wasn't pregnant at the time, but had a colposcopy several years ago due to an abnormal pap. I know it's scary, but odds are they're just being safe and everything is fine. Cervical cancer, particularly if caused by HPV, moves very slowly. That's why some doctors even wait for a second abnormal pap smear before performing a colpo, because they worry about undue stress. The main risk is if you don't get regular pap smears then you only notice something is wrong after the cancer has more fully developed, which is too late. My biopsy did come back abnormal (positive for HPV), but my body cleared it on its own and it's been fine ever since. From what I remember, they told me that most cases do clear on their own, so at this stage it's more monitoring to make sure that happens.
Fwiw, I was so scared my blood pressure spiked and I nearly passed out. The stress and worry was the absolute worst part of the entire experience, the procedure didn't really hurt (similar to a pap, I took some Advil beforehand). There was some bleeding but nothing too bad afterwards. However, like I said, they're probably just being proactive (which is great), and everything will be fine.
@mindyb2019 I also had an abnormal pap a few years ago followed by a normal colposcopy. The colposcopy is uncomfortable but it is really quick. Definitely expect some pain and, unfortunately some spotting afterwards. Hopefully expecting it may help ease the nerves around it.
Fingers crossed everything turns out ok! It does seem to be really common (I’ve also had about 4 friends with the same experience) so I hope you get reassuring news quickly!
@laurenspdx@tryingktogku@bearmomma1@akoros thank you all ladies.. I'm glad the procedure is really quick but still not looking forward to it as Im a baby lol. Sucks that you bleed/spot so I'll just mentally prepare myself for it now and that it's ok. Do you gals know how long you spot for after? The whole day, a few days? I guess if it doesnt stop then to call the doctor back and let them know.
@mindyb2019 Ya, it’s definitely not a fun experience but I hope it’ll be quick for you and end in good news! I don’t remember exactly how long I spotted for after but I think it was maybe lightly for a couple days? Maybe the others have a better memory.
Ok, I have been reading down the rabbit hole of google about my colposcopy test tomorrow and now I’m freaked out and crying I don’t want this 😢 My anxiety is high and making me upset. I prob won’t sleep tonight. I was reading and it said that it takes 4-6 weeks after this procedure for your cervix to heal and you can’t have baths or have any sex for that long? Omg is that true? It also says that you can also have brown/red discharge or spotting for 4-6 weeks yikes! I don’t want that. This sounds like a nightmare. FML!
@mindyb2019 Oh no, the internet can be a little too scary! I hope your doctor can help ease your worries!
While I don’t remember how long I spotted, it definitely wasn’t that long. However, I wasn’t pregnant at the time and knowing that things can be extra vascular now, it’s probably not a bad expectation that it could last a while.
(TW: talking about current symptoms involving spotting)
I’ve had spotting now for weeks from an SCH or non-viable twin. It is not great at all to have it, but knowing what it is and that it shouldn’t negatively impact my pregnancy is a big help with dealing with it. If you do end up with a lot of bleeding from the procedure, I do hope that knowing it’s normal helps - even a little.
I’m also on pelvic rest and haven’t been able to have sex for about 4 weeks - hopefully just 2 more to go! So I can totally sympathize if you do get out on that as well. It’s not great, but I’m so tired and nauseous anyway that it’s also not all bad.
@laurenspdx I hope the doctor can ease my worries. I’ll be asking her a million questions about it. Poor thing haha. I’m sorry that you have had spotting for weeks now. I’ve been there before with my first pregnancy and it’s soo scary. I really hope mine doesn’t last 4-5 weeks that would be awful. My anxiety wouldn’t be able to handle that. My test tomorrow is at 10am but I have to be there at 9:30. I’m thankful it’s early in the morning so I can get it over with and go home and lay down all day. My boss told me to just take the day off work and take it easy at home which is nice.
