This is a place for those of us who have already started TTC, but have started infertility testing and/or treatments. You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on infertility. TTC can be a long journey naturally, then add in the difficulties associated with infertility, and it becomes a whole new ball game. The road to infertility can be lonely, frustrating, and complicated, so let's make this a place where we can vent, ask questions, and support one another. Diagnosis (if you've been): AMA, blocked tube

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Hopefully trying a little harder than we did last cycle on our own.

How are things going?: Well I finally got CD 1 yesterday (35 day cycle, when mine are normally 25 days). Not sure what that was about, and I definitely had weird false hope, despite numerous negative tests. I'm back to my usual realistic pessimism again.

Any questions?: Not right now.

Hmmm...this might be cheating, but all I can think of is that I wish I could have a maid service to clean my house. So, if I could have that guaranteed for the rest of my life, that would be amazing!

Diagnosis (if you've been): Unexplained IF and RPL. Possible low progesterone, last AMH test showed low numbers

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): OPKs, BBT, PNVs, HIO, tracking with FF

How are things going?: Pretty good! I went to the clinic this morning to update my CD3 bloodwork (all labs expire after a year of treatment). Is it weird that I kind of missed everyone at my clinic? Because I totally did. The nurse who is managing my IVF meds said that while everything is still on hold, they may be able to start treatment cycles again sooner rather than later. So for now I have that hope to cling to.

@shoogapoff Sorry about CD1, but glad your body is at least not being confusing now and you can start fresh.
@emeraldduchess That's great that the clinic might be able to start soon!

Diagnosis (if you've been): none yet, HSG missing from workup (delayed for Covid)

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): Will be in TWW by Wednesday I believe

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): trying on our own - EODish, CM, prenatals, just ordered CoQ10 and Conceive Plus after reading about them here.

How are things going?: Good...had a really nice weekend, we set up our new dining room furniture and ordered a couple of rugs and planned some other decorating (feels weird to be buying a bunch of stuff right now but we've been saving for months and it just coincided with the economic crisis! Good to stimulate the economy I suppose). We also watched Enough Said (with Julia Louis Dreyfus and James Gandolfini) which is SUCH a great, feel-good movie to watch during heavy times. Absolutely love it and it got us on a long and nice conversation about relationships/us.

Any questions?: I feel like I still don't have a handle on the best strategy for FW after like 20 months of TTC (although we were just benched for three months!)...I think I'm O'ing today or tomorrow, most likely tomorrow I believe. We HIO Sunday and Friday. Should we try for today AND tomorrow or do a real EOD plan and just do tomorrow? I always went back and forth on it and never felt like I was doing the right method! Anyway, failing to do this perfectly is most likely NOT the reason I'm still here!

Diagnosis (if you've been): PCOS and Unexplained RPL

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Letrozole (5mg), TI, and Progesterone after O.

How are things going?: Pretty ok, all things considered. AF made her arrival this weekend, which was expected after multiple BFN’s and stopping progesterone. I called my RE’s office this morning to see if we could do IUI this cycle...and I got my hopes up at first, because the lady was like yeah I’ll have the nurse call you. Then the nurse called back and said they had not resumed treatments and won’t until the governor gives the go ahead. That pretty much confirms that last cycle would have been cancelled even if we hadn’t cancelled it ourselves. We decided we are going to go back to trying like we had been (HIO EOD during FW and maybe tracking some things, but probably not full on temping/tracking)...it was nice having a more relaxed cycle, but we are ready to get back to normal. Not sure if it is the smartest thing during all this, but the fact that we have very limited exposure (and could most likely keep it that way long term if this cycle happens to be a success), helps us to have some more comfort with our decision.

@shoogapoff I’m so sorry for the long/confusing cycle that got your hopes up! I’m going to be optimistic for you though and hope with everything in me that this next cycle is it for you!! It’s time for all of us to move on...let’s all storm January!!

@emeraldduchess yay for hopefully being able to start your IVF cycle pretty soon!! That is very exciting news!! Still hoping for the best for this natural cycle for you though!!

@whitealbum29 glad you had a good weekend and got to work on re-decorating some...that is always so fun! We usually stick with the EOD route, but have also tried getting in an extra when O is for sure happening. *TW - With our losses, we got KU the first time with strictly EOD, and the second time with some extra timing around O...so, I think either method can work. - End TW* I think you should definitely be covered with the EOD that you’ve done...I think general consensus is that it’s more important to HIO before O than on the day of, so maybe it wouldn’t hurt to try today and you could always still throw in tomorrow as a bonus if you are up for it! ☺️

@shoogapoff frankly maid service might also be my top choice because 1, I hate scrubbing and 2, it would hopefully help with all our clutter. They can't clean if a place is cluttered with so much stuff! Were you tracking anything last cycle to see a late O or do you have no idea?

@emeraldduchess sooner rather than later sounds good! I'm always weirdly happy seeing all the nurses and receptionists at my clinic. It totally sucks to be there but it feels wonderful to be in their caring hands

@whitealbum29 EOD or ED probably doesn't matter. I mean I heard that a friend's wife got KU because they did it 3x that day so... As long as you're near O and HIO, I'd say you're fine.

@bluetickgal there's never a good time to conceive or have a kid right? Except for those magical wizards who can "plan" the month they conceive 🙄🙃

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): back to the basics trying naturally

How are things going?: Not bad. Just wishing we could go out and do things, instead it's going out for groceries or for carryout food orders and the occasional trip to the hardware store for home improvement projects. We need a deck box to store our patio furniture covers!

@inthewoods23 I started out trying to track, and missed a couple of temps around when I normally O. I had progressively darkening OPKs but hadn't had a clear positive. Unfortunately a lot of stuff happened right around when I was supposed to O and I also missed a few prime OPK test-taking times. So I assumed I missed my positive OPK, and temp spike, and just gave up. Apparently I probably didn't and it was just late? I have literally only had 1 other cycle that went beyond 27 days in the 4 years I have been tracking my cycle lengths, so this is truly bizarre.
Oooh! I also like the idea of lifetime supply of haircuts or massages! Great ideas!

@shoogapoff that's what makes my cycle a bit of a mystery this month as well since I knew the lupron would do a really good job at suppressing my ovaries. The strips never got very dark then BOOM definitely positive OPK. My 2 apps don't agree on O date and I'm not sure either since I wasn't doing the OPKs every single day so it's possible my first positive would have happened on Wednesday instead of Thursday. Hopefully this next cycle isn't crazy long! I've found that any major stress delays my cycle 5-7 days if it occurs in the WTO period so maybe you had something similar before O?

Also, there is a free app called “Ferticalm” which I’ve been using and it’s pretty good.. it has meditations, CBT techniques for different situations and ideas for how to respond to insensitive comments, etc.

Diagnosis: MFI

Status: WTO

What are you doing this cycle? We were planning to start trying again this month, but after discussing this with our RE we are unsure.. she recommended waiting a month or two until we know more about how the virus impacts early pregnancy since there isn’t much info out there yet. Since I am a healthcare worker, we have to be a bit more cautious. We might NTNP again this month again.

How are things going? Things are going okay. I feel a lot better after talking to my RE this afternoon. She is hopeful that DH will be able to get his sperm testing done in the next month or two and we can make our plan from there. At this time, we have to keep waiting since the clinic is still closed.

@whitealbum29 I might have to check out that movie.. really need to watch a feel-good movie right about now. Glad you got some new furniture, sounds like a lovely weekend! Has YH had his sperm testing yet? With low sperm counts it’s recommended to HIO EOD, so if you don’t have those results it might be best to just stick with EOD just in case.

@bluetickgal Glad you have made a decision that you feel comfortable with. Hoping this month is a success and you don’t need the IUI at all!

@inthewoods23 I hear you about wanting things to go back to normal. FX this is all behind us soon. And I wish we could all be magical wizards and graduate from here!

@misshelen86 I will definitely be happy if things open up for the most part and just the social distancing aspect remains. Even if they only allow X number of people into a place would be nice. I'm sure that's months down the line though.

Diagnosis (if you've been): RPL, Elevated NK Cells and Activity, Blood-clotting disorders, AMA. (My RE said I don't actually have DOR--that my numbers match my age--so I'm rejecting that label given by my first RE.)

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Trying on our own, adding Letrozole, will take Progesterone and Estradiol after O. Also been exercising daily and finally seeing the weight really drop. Hoping being back to normal weight/energy levels will assist in a healthy conception!

How are things going?: OK. The Letrozole is throwing me off for the 2nd cycle in a row: I had slightly EWCM plus an OPK *almost* exactly as dark as the control on CD7, and a steep temp drop--all of which are too early for me. The same confusing pattern happened last cycle, and I ended up O on CD10 or 11. Today's OPK is lighter than yesterday's. Everything I've read online says Letrozole delays O, but I think in my case it really speeds things up.

Any questions?: Anyone else experience this on Femara/Letrozole?

Either an endless supply of workout clothes and running shoes, or a personal chef to cook dinner. Making dinner is the worst for me, especially since I've never liked dinner foods.

@shoogapoff Sorry for that delayed cycle and the false hope. That is the worst. I hope you all are able to get in more sessions this time! (That sounds super weird, but I'm hoping the same for me & MH, so I feel you!)

@emeraldduchess So glad that you feel things are going pretty well! Having hope is everything. It would be so wondderful if they can start up your treatment again sooner rather than later!

@whitealbum29 Sounds like such a lovely weekend! Redecorating is so much fun! Re: your HIO question, I'd go for it today and tomorrow if you are unsure--and if YF can keep up with the demand.

@misshelen86 Thanks for the resources! My RE's office gave me a brochure on Ferticalm but I never tried it. After seeing your suggestion I will definitely check it out.

How are things going?: Still going pretty well! Things are just chugging along over here lol I'm honestly not sure how I feel about TTC anymore. It changes on a daily basis - yesterday I woke up thinking that "it just is what it is and whatever will be will be" and it was a calming space to be in, actually. But then I went for a long walk with Lola pup and I passed a house that was decorated on the outside for a social distancing "sprinkle" and I started to cry because I WANT THAT! So, it's very back and forth with my crazy thinking haha

@bluetickgal - Sorry about AF and that the clinic isn't starting back up yet, hopefully the more relaxed cycle will be enjoyable and will work out! I know what you mean about not even being sure it's smart to try with everything going on, I have the same thoughts sometimes and think it's to be expected!
@misshelen86 Thanks for the stress-reduction stuff! Sorry you are having to play the waiting game the next month or so. Yeah SO did his SA in January and his numbers were fine. We ended up doing last night and might today too.
@keikilove Great about the weight loss and energy levels! The unlimited workout clothes are a good idea I didn't think of!

@kpearse99 re: HomeGoods this made me LOL the other day - I spend more time at Target and definitely miss it! Totally with you on the crazy back and forth thinking! During my FW I'm all excited to be trying and I'm sure I'll get excited jitters during TWW, and I am on board with trying on our own right now rather than NTNP, but it's a scary time and there's so much uncertainty.

@whitealbum29 hahaha that homegoods clip was so funny and exactly how I'm feeling haha I was thinking this morning that after this current NTNP cycle I want to actively try again. I think DH and I had a decent break and we both certainly feel more relaxed and refreshed. I know I don't want to go full out but I would like to track with OPK's again and try to really zone in on our timing more (although we are currently HIO EOD or EO2D so timing really isn't being missed but still...) Now I just gotta mention this to DH

Hi ladies, good to see everyone is doing ok - @pom9207 hope that infection gets cleared up soon! - missing you, but still not really in a good head space to want to jump back in yet. This week, being NIAF week, hit me hard and I've been in a weird funk struggling with some pretty raw, admittedly ugly, emotions that have just gotten the better of me. But I lurk when I feel up to it, so maybe you'll see me around a bit.

@keikilove I'm a chronically late ovulator so I found letrozole to move up my O date by 2-4 days (from average 16-17 to 13-14). FX for you!!

@whitealbum29 I am with you on not knowing how to tackle FW. That's one positive of IF treatment is that they tell you what timing to have. I've tried every timing method out there, and obviously none of them worked, so I have no input.

@bluetickgal I'm sorry your RE isn't moving forward with treatment yet. I'm just crossing my fingers that we'll be a go for next cycle, but who knows. It's so frustrating!

@misshelen86 I know some REs in my state aren't doing treatment yet, but they are starting testing, so hopefully YH can get his done soon!

@keikilove Good for you for exercising and seeing results! That isn't easy, especially right now!

@ramzlau I'm sorry for the let down last cycle. The roller coaster of emotions is so hard to deal with month after month.

@kpearse99 I feel you on not knowing how to feel about this. Some days I am okay and others, all I want is a BABY!

@shoogapoff Yeah, I've had some frustrating moments this week where I'm like, "girl why are you even worried about timing?! Get real!" Hopefully our IUI can happen in not too long.
@kpearse99 Yeah I'm liking the idea of not going all-out with tracking, I can't believe I used to actually find it mildly exciting to track my cycles and learn all this stuff about my body the first several months we were TTC.

#nerdalert We're planning to do EOD the whole cycle next month so we know we're getting timing in without my worrying about tracking. But yeah after your break OPKs will help get you back into the swing of things without it being too too much!

Sorry I’m late in responding/tagging, this week got away from me!! But now I can share that we will in fact be doing IUI this cycle! Eek!! Our state is reopening non-emergent healthcare as of this coming Monday, so I called this morning and I was able to schedule my monitoring appointment for Thursday! I’m incredibly excited, but also super nervous now for our first IUI!!

@inthewoods23 true, there is never a good time...and after almost 2 years of trying, I don’t want to wait even longer! But yes, those people who plan a baby for the Summer or to extend Christmas break...must be nice!! 🙄 I’m so hoping that this natural cycle will be a success for you!! Also hoping we can get out and do things other than go to the store before long! We have had 3 failed attempts at going to the store to get mulch...apparently everyone is doing outdoor projects and we haven’t wanted to stand in a line for an hour to do so!

@misshelen86 thanks lady! I’m sorry you have to wait per your RE, but I’m glad you are ok with the decision! Definitely makes sense with your exposure of working in healthcare...thank you so much for what you do!! Hopefully YH can get his sperm analysis done soon and you get great results from that!
@keikilove thanks lady!! I’m hoping so hard for a little miracle for you this cycle too! I usually O around CD17 with Letrozole, but I don’t O at all without it...so not sure that I’m a good comparison. I hope you have great timing no matter when O happens!

At the end of the day, you have to do what is best for you and YH! I totally understand, seeing stuff like that is always a reminder of how bad we really do want it! Yes to the personal trainer...that would totally keep me motivated, right?!
