  • I had a horrible dream last night. TW - Loss -

In the dream, I started bleeding and I’m still freaked out. I don’t know if I had those with my DS and I don’t know if it’s everything going on or not having a scan yet, but I don’t feel pregnant yet. I had bad morning sickness with DS and none so far but I’m only about 5+4 so I know it’s super early. I just can’t get that dream out of my head now.

  • @jbal918 hugs. I think I've had those dreams with every pregnancy. I definitely did this time around the night after I found out I was pregnant. I'm also having some anxiety about not having a scan until 12 weeks/June 1st which seems forever away. I don't really have many symptoms either so it's hard not to worry for me too. But I had morning sickness with my daughter (my first) and not my son (my second) so every pregnancy can be different. The dream is just a bad dream! I'm sorry you had it.

  • @jbal918 ugh those dreams are horrible, I’m so sorry.

I have my first appt/scan today. I’m so nervous/excited. After we find out if everything’s ok, we’ll start telling our family and close friends!

How was everyone’s “stay at home” Easter? We had a pretty good day and it was nice not having to drive around to all the families houses 😂. Our DD is 21 months and had fun finding and picking up Easter Eggs.

@JBcakes08 thanks! It’s nerve wrecking and I’m such an over thinker! I can’t imagine waiting till June! I’d have to talk to my doctor because I’m too much of a nervous wreck for that!

    @bearmomma1 good luck!

My doctor‘s office just called and they want one more round of betas drawn and then my first appt is the 23rd at 4:30pm. The first time we saw an RE and I already had 3 ultrasounds by now so that definitely makes it different too!

  • It's interesting to read comments on this board because it gives insight as to how different OBGYNs are approaching appointments in light of the COVID-19 virus. I'm 5 weeks and I was scheduled to have a "confirmation appointment" via phone call tomorrow. A few of you encouraged me to push back on that a bit and the nurse said I could delay the confirmation phone call until 12 weeks, and then my first office visit will be 18-20 weeks, at which point I'll get labs done. 18-20 weeks for the first in-office visit seems so late! The nurse said that was current MFM guidelines, but if I really wanted to come in sooner I could do so starting at 12 weeks. I think I will go in at 12 weeks so I can get the NIPT done (I'm advanced maternal age).
  • I'm stuck between wishing I had an earlier appointment (just for visual confirmation) and glad not to. Every scan for me last time brought on major anxiety. I just felt like I was holding my breath the whole time waiting for them to tell me something was wrong. I'm hoping for a lot less scanning/poking/prodding this time around.

Easter was fine. My Mom and SD stopped by with a small bag of goodies for DS. We chatted over the fence, lol. We did our little outdoor egg hunt. We are not religious but still enjoy the celebration of spring and renewal. Lots of gardening going on over here!
  • @chapenroe I agree it's interesting how different OBGYNs are approaching it, I wonder if it is state by state. I'm in Vermont and the practice I go to is pushing all first appointments to 10 weeks (used to be 8 weeks). The "confirmation" appointment and first ultrasound is the same thing here.  This will be my longest appointment and it's when they will do all the lab work and blood tests. Unfortunately, my husband isn't allowed to be with me for any of my prenatal appointments (until the governor lifts the stay home-stay safe order), so I will record the ultrasound on my phone.

*TW- Mention of loss in spoiler*
This first ultrasound (I'm scheduled for May 12) is going to be very anxiety-producing since last time it was when I found out there was no heartbeat and learned I had a missed MC.  I'm so glad my husband was at my side when I went through that trauma.  This time around, I will be alone.  I'm just trying not to think about it since there is absolutely nothing I can do. It's out of my control.  I just need to be as healthy as I can and try to maintain a positive outlook.

  • @bearmomma1 That must have been adorable watching your little one find eggs!  We didn't do a darn thing, it was just a regular day for us.  My husband had to work. He is working 7 days a week for the near foreseeable future. I don't have family nearby so I just talked to my mom on the phone who was making a ham. We ate spaghetti and vegetarian meatballs then watched TV.  But I loved seeing all my friend's kids on Facebook with their Easter baskets and their egg hunts. A lot of people near me got baby chicks too!
  • Wow! Those are late appointments! 18-20 weeks! @chapenroe
    DS born 2016
  • @chapenroe I agree that's super late. Why would they skip the 12 week ultrasound? That and the 20 are the two biggies!
  • @jbal918 so many creepy internet hugs. I had terrible dreams like that with my son. They really stick with you.

@chapenroe that seems like such a long time to wait. I hope they give you a confirmation ultrasound in the 1st trimester.

I don’t know how often I’m going to be able to access this board. It still doesn’t show up for me. Every so often my app does something different and THEN I can get here but I don’t know how to get here regularly.
  • @antera23 I can't get to the board at all from the app, I have to use my laptop. I submitted a complaint to the bump app but no response yet. I think there's not much activity on this board because so many people can't find/access it.

  • @antera23 and @JBcakes08. The only way I can find this board in the app is by looking for the the December 2020 waiting room post in the First Trimester forum.  There is a link to here.  Hopefully it will pop up soon with all the other BMBs.
  • I go to the November board, then click on the Month Bump Clubs link at the top, and it takes you to a list where you can access December. I’m assuming the lag has to do with Covid

@bearmomma1 I just figured that out today!
  • @bearmomma1 I do the same lol

@BumpAdmin Can we do something about this, please?!

  • dancingtreepose, I'm really sorry about your last U/S experience but you've 100% got the right attitude! There's a lot out of our control, but we can try our hardest to manage our emotional and mental health during these stressful times.
  • Wow 18-20 weeks is so long to wait. I couldn’t imagine!

Anyone thinking about being team green? I’m pretty convinced that I want to but don’t know if anyone else has experience with it and how they felt about it/if it was worth it in the end?!
  • @bartonolivia. I have no personal experience, but I had a bunch of friends who were team green.  They loved the surprise!  They also received a lot fewer clothes during their showers, since people were unsure of what to buy.  Just a thought!  Pretty sure DH and I are planners that wont do well with team green.  You never know though.  Best of luck to you with whatever you decide.
  • I went to Labcorp for the hopefully last Beta draw and when I left, I realized that the women checked the guy before me in and then me and then drew my blood and went to do his and never changed her gloves!

  • @dobiemom11 We won’t be having a shower. This is our 4th kid and we have all the baby stuff already since our youngest is just 9 months old. She’s a girl though so I’ll just get some gender neutral clothes. So the whole planning thing is basically already taken care of! We already have 2 boys (ages 4&3) so we have no preference on gender since we already have both so I’m hoping to get my husband on board with team green!

@bartonolivia go for it! I already have a son but I want to know the name before so I'll be finding out (the only thing I want to buy is a custom blanket with the name like I did for my son). @jbal918 HORRIFYING!

I'm about to go grocery shopping, wish me luck that they have what we need!
  • @bartonolivia we are this time! We have a boy and a girl so were are not going to find out. My husband initially hesitated because we found out both other times but he finally agreed that if that's what I wanted to do he'd go along with it. We've kept all our clothes so far.

@willashbaby my mom has made embroidered blankets with both of our kids names on them before they were born so I know she will be thrown off by not having a name ahead of time! We will probably tell her the boy and girl name we settle on and she'll probably be ready to sew right away LOL. GL shopping! My husband is going tomorrow, ugh.

@jbal918 :# I hope she changed them quickly and maybe you missed it? If not, YIKES!

  • @bartonolivia My brother in law was team green with their first, and is team green again with their second. We found out with our first and will find out again with this one! I want to find out as soon as possible. =P I feel like I can really start to connect and plan once I know. But since you already have both I could see how team green would be fun!

@willashbaby good luck! I went last Friday and was lucky to find everything we needed. A few days later there was a Covid case reported at the distribution facility and no Safeways' around us are receiving any deliveries and shelves are bare!

  • We found out with our first but were team green with our second. Honestly, though, I was convinced our 2nd was a boy, and was right. My pregnancy was night and day from the first so I just had a feeling and would have been shocked if he had been a girl!
We are going to be team green again I think. Since we already have one of each we are set on clothes and whatnot either way. I’m really curious to see if my pregnancy will be about the same as either of the previous or if I’ll get a whole new wrench thrown in!
  • I went later in the day and it still took an hour to get in. But at least they had everything. No complaints! I even scored some spray hand sanitizer, feeling fancy over here!
  • I suck at this on the app! I need to pull out the laptop! Sorry if I’m missing stuff!
    DS born 2016
  • @bartonolivia    I didn't find out with one of mine. It was fun. I saved a ton of money because I didn't buy all the things. I'm thinking I might go green with this one because I already have all the things.

  • @bartonolivia my mom was team green with all 6 of us. We are all girls 😂
  • @bartonolivia I wanted to be team green with DS but as soon as the doctors had the results, we asked for them lol... I’m hoping with this one I can hold out! Haha

  • Thank you all for the feedback! We also have everything so I think it’ll be much Easier to to this time. @jbal918 I’m worried I’m going to do this to. 😂
  • Should we do a sign up for boards so that people don't double post new topics? Like one person posts weekly randoms every week, one posts wtf wednesday, fffc and so on? Just a thought because that worked in my old group and I think it was missed when I asked before.

  • @bartonolivia Oh I def couldn't hold out but I am going to try this time! No promises though!

  • @jbal918 I'm happy to keep the weekly workout thread going :)
  • @willashbaby I’ll start a sign up for what we have so far tomorrow after work!
