Baby Names

Re: Baby Names

  • Ive never done NIPT before so it’s so weird to me to be thinking about names already. We are leaning towards Nora/Norah for the first name. Both of my angel babies are girls, and they are Rosemary Alice and Maggie Claire. I’m running out of middle name ideas!

  • We got our bloodwork back this week and we are having a BOY! We’re thinking Sullivan (Sully) Bradley
  • My first choice right now is Clementine.  The boy person is slowly warming to it.  My mother doesn't love it though.  Other names in for consideration include Matilda and Lydia.
    Current pregnancy -
First BFP on 1/4/22.  Due date 9/13/22.

Four prior losses, no living children - 1 first trimester miscarriage, 1 blighted ovum, 1 chemical, and one extreme premature live birth daughter who died at 15 days old.

  • @kboydbowman someone in my previous BMB had a Clementine and her nickname was Lemon 😍 so cute

  • We are having another boy. The first is named after my husband’s grandfather and was the only first name we could agree on. The middle name we didn’t come up with until about 12 hours after he was born. We like traditional, easy to spell names with meaning, and I have no idea what we’re going to do! 😱
  • @baseballismyfavoriteseason Boy names are so hard. We had a hard time agreeing on one for DS but luckily we stumbled upon one we hadn’t thought of last time that we both like.
  • We are kind of leaning towards the name Carley because it is a mixture of our two other girls names and also my maiden. I’d love some honest feedback from everyone though since we are keeping it a secret and I can’t ask anyone else haha.

Do you A) like the name and B) think the spelling is ok?
  • @ by a combo of the other two, how close to being the same as them is it? That’s my main worry. I like it otherwise. Spelling I’m not sure what other options there are but that one seems straight forward so I like it.
  • @JLaVO888 not rhyming or too close, just some of the same letters from each of the names.
  • Then I think it sounds like a good pick. As long it wasn’t something like Carter and Harley mixed to make Carley 😹😹.
  • @coldbrew I think Carley is good. Not super common but not off the wall. It does make me think of that old Nickelodeon show--iCarly, so I guess I could see it not having the e either just because that's how I've seen it before.
  • @JLaVO888 hahaha nothing like that. If I could figure out how to make a spoiler tag I’d say my girls’ names, but I don’t want it to be searchable.
  • I just reread and remembered it’s your maiden. I’d keep the spelling the same as that.
  • @coldbrew, I like Carley. It’s not one you hear very often

  • It took us awhile to figure it out, but I think the names are finally settled.

Our girl name is Ramona Rose, and for a boy it will be Crosby Edward. Other girl names I love are Lucianna and Stella, so we may change our minds on that.

We will hopefully know the sex in a couple weeks- I really have no idea, which makes me think it’s a boy, because that’s how I get during my pregnancy with my son. When I was pregnant with our daughter, I knew she was a girl from the second the test turned positive.
    Me: 29, DH: 29
    TTC since: 2/13
    Long, anovulatory cycles
    Began fertility testing 12/13
Ultrasound and bloodwork: Everything looks good (according to my ob/gyn)
    HSG: waiting to schedule
SA: scheduled with RE for 1/6/14
  • @mamaheatherl I love the name Ramona and don't know if I've ever met one! Makes me think of the Beverly Clearly books which are definitely fond memories from my childhood. 😊
  • @coldbrew I like Carley. I think even with the slightly different spelling it can still be recognizable. No one will be butchering it.
  • It’s been so challenging to think of names this time. Since we aren’t finding out the gender it’s that much harder! I’ve been creating a name list for years, but it’s been hard to agree on a name with DH. For our son, we used a family name and we both loved it immediately so that was really easy. This time there are no family names I really like.

Here’s the names we have agreed on so far:
    Girl: Sonja (Sonia) and Holly
    Boy: Grant and Troy

I have absolutely no ideas for middle names!

  • @mamaheatherl Out son is a C. Edward so I approve haha!
  • @westslopemama I’m unsure about MNs too. We used our mom’s names for the first 2. I am thinking of maybe my grandma’s middle name.
  • @mamaheatherl I love Stella! It would be on my list if my sister wasn’t named Ella.

  • So many great names on here!

I think we're close to settling on Violet Jean for a girl (which is what I'd put my money on). For a boy, Joseph something, I'm hoping hubby comes around to liking Joseph Paul.

  • We have an L theme going on at home.

For a girl we have Leah Emmeline

and for a boy we have Micah as the middle name but are struggling to find a good first name.
It can’t be Liam, Luke or Levi since those have exploded in the last couple of years and close friends or relatives have named their children that.

So we’re stuck without a good L boy name. Help!
  • @lilbubb Landon, Leo, or Louis/Lewis? Not a lot of L boy names I can think of. A few names that I think trend more girl that I've seen used for boys too (Leslie, Lindsey, Loren), but I don't know how you feel about that.
  • @lilbubb- Lionel, Linus, Luca, Lincoln, Leroy, Lawrence

  • @lilbubb I like Leon/Leo

  • @lilbubb I think Leo or Landon!

We finally decided on a name for both genders! Baby H #1 will either be Ronan Paul or Carlie Jo. We will find out which in about 6 weeks! 💕

@mamahosch we are going with Carley also (different spelling though)!
  • We have a top contender for a first name and now we’re working on middle name. I’m not sure I want to share it on here or not - we aren’t telling anyone. It’s the same name regardless of the sex. All names starting with “C” were automatically out because husband and I are both C names and i just think it would be too confusing and too cutesy for us to all be C names.

One girl name I’ve loved but I’m not going to use this time because we’re going for a gender neutral name is Vivian, vivi for short.
  • Love Vivian!

Luca is such a cute boy name. Another L name for a boy could be would be Logan.

  • Vivian was a top name last go around but alas we had a boy.
  • Leon Micha??
  • Landon or Luca are the two L boy names that pop into mind for me.

I love Luca but not with Micha haha. Luca Micah. Sound too similar at the end.
  • @coldbrew love it!!! It’s a name that I honestly had never considered and then one day looking at lists, it just popped out to me and I loved it. And DH marked it as a favorite of his too! I have only seen it spelled Carly but when I typed it I put an “ie” at the end instead and loved it lol.
  • My H and I both have weird first names, so we are looking for something that is unique but less likely to be the cause of them getting the crap kicked out of then on the playground. We're waiting to find out what bits are there until the little borg is born, so were coming up with one for each. The girls name I love, and we arent telling any family or friends because we love it and dont want the grief... boys are harder.

    Girl- Juniper (Juni for short)

    Boys- Oly, Everett and Finley

  • @aefsparrow
    I LOVE all your names!!!!
  • @aefsparrow, I really like your names!
    How do you pronounce Oly?
