  • I crochet, but haven’t since I got pregnant. I would love to make a baby blanket for my little guy, but with this carpal tunnel I’ve developed I don’t think that will be possible.
  • @cornichonmam That oven is adorable!!  Also, no need to wait for the thread, feel free to start one anytime!!  I kinda let this thread fall off as it didn't seem like many people were interested lol.

  • @wildrainbow that blanket is so beautiful! Homemade blankets are the best, they last forever!
  • @WishesSheCouldCook That is AMAZING!!! Adorable and totally unique idea. I love it!
  • @WishesSheCouldCook That is precious! I love it!
  • Happy birthday @samsonator!!! If you find any cute sewing patterns, please share. I haven't taken my machine out in a long time, but it could be fun to make some simple matching outfits.
  • @samsonator Happy birthday!!  What a great present and perfect timing.  There's tons of YouTube videos that will teach you to sew on your specific machine and make various things.

@tara4910 oof, you know I would love to?  But I must have screwed something up.  Tastes delicious!  But it really fell flat, and doesn't look terribly impressive. Lol The one I made a few weeks ago that only rose for 30-60min actually came out much nicer!  I can't remember where I shared the link; it might have been March Randoms?  That - I would recommend, if I can find the link again, I'll re-share it.  Cos that came out amazing, first try.

ETA here it is: I let rise a full hour, and then there's a typo, the salt should be tsp. ;)

  • NP @tara4910 in the interest of full disclosire, I can share the one I made today, too.  It had a completely different, chewier crumb, and was also very tasty! Maybe you would have better luck with it rising than I did.  (I think it peaked way early for me, like around only about 6 hours?  So by 23 hours maybe it had just fallen again too much.).🤷 I am so new to bread making.

  • @BusinessWife I thought about making old fashioned royal but just didn't wanna waste the egg, DD has been on a scrambled eggs for lunch kick.  We make our glaze with 1.5 confectioners sugar, a teaspoon of light corn syrup, and little vanilla extract (or whatever flavor) and 1 or 2 tablespoons of water.  I always add more water to thin mine out and make it pretty runny since I prefer a light glaze but if you add less water you can keep it stiff just like you can have the various versions of stiff for traditional royal icings. It dries nice and shiny just like royal does. I find this to be a great alternative when I don't have the powder on hand to make egg-less. Just thought I'd share in case you ever were looking to try a different way to do it. :)

Oh cool! Thanks! @RedBaramid unfortunately at the moment, corn syrup is still on our pantry shopping list, for like, the last 3 trips. 🤦 But I will remember that!  I just added the yolks into our latkes so it worked out fine!

ETA I was sort of surprised how some colors ended up thicker than others, maybe just based on where in the mixing bowl they had come from?  I didn't realize till I started working with it, and then I didn't want to go messing with it, but 🤷 it's all good!
  • Thanks @lachnessmomster! The Cricut is so magical!

  • @Businesswife I love fiddleheads!  I had never heard of them until my husband and I went on our honeymoon in Maine a few years ago, and they were at the end of their fiddlehead season- we tried to eat as many as we could while we were there!  I'm in St. Louis, and I've only seen them one time at the grocery store (and I've never seen them at any farmers markets).  Looks delicious!
