I went to step over something yesterday and jacked up my hip/back. Maybe sciatic nerve pain? It’s feeling better today but if I sit too long it’s painful getting up.
Anyone else starting to have that nesting feeling? I obsessed over cleaning baseboards this week and I also feel a strong urge to reorganize my 4 year old’s closet.
@tara4910 yes, absolutely! I still haven't rearranged DDs room for her completely, but that's the next funzie project on my plate, including rearranging all her drawers, then I have to move into my closet / 3rd bedroom. 😬 But I absolutely have the urge to deep clean and donate everrythang lol
My heartburn meds are no longer working and EVERYTHING gives me heartburn, even water. Please excuse while I go cry at the pain of my esophagus burning up.
@tara4910 I feel you. My sciatica disagrees so progress is slow, but I feel you.
Today I went through my 5 year old's room and really cleaned out. Picked up broken toys and chucked them, we put away some toys she's outgrown for the next one to enjoy. We're in deep discussions about getting her a new toy box and using her small one for the next kid since it really is little toddler sized. Most of the toys she really plays with anymore aren't really toy box toys that you chuck together in a big basket/box. She needs more divided storage now. We're really trying to clear space in her room because she's been building with her legos in our living room the entire time we've lived here, but with a little baby on the way those tiny toys need to migrate to her bedroom for safety.
@wildrainbow what are you taking? I was making out maalox and Tums and am not on Prevacid with maalox at bedtime and tums as needed. I’ve found pretty good relief with that combination. I just started the Prevacid this week. It was bad before that.

I checked bp and it was okay, so I guess I will just have to make a point to stay on top of my hydration this week, since that's maybe slipping these past couple days. I swear DH being home just completely throws me off my whole groove... :/
@BusinessWife I started having headaches every day once I hit the second trimester and my Dr suggested a magnesium supplement, which seems to have worked well for me so far!
On that note @wildrainbow I haven't had any heartburn since taking it, which may be a coincidence? It couldn't hurt to ask about if your meds aren't helping anymore. The Old Wives say that heartburn means your baby will have a full head of hair, which was true for DD...
@tara4910 DH keeps accusing me of nesting! I don't know if its that, or just that since my 1st trimester was so rough I got so behind on cleaning and am frantically trying to catch up now. Or maybe it's spending more time at home too, I have all kinds of time to notice that the floor needs to be mopped or windows need to be cleaned.
@hypermusic so funny you say that - I have been taking a Cal-Mag supplement, but I only just yesterday realized that I'm supposed to be taking two capsules a day, not one! 🤦 So maybe that will help!
@BusinessWife and @hypermusic I have my magnesium supplement (Calm) out on the counter and I keep forgetting to take it before bed. I really want to tonight to see if it helps with sleep...I've been up since 2:30am 😰... finally around 5am I got up and poured myself cold brew and went on an hour long drive. Before getting pregnant I was such a good sleeper but that's all gone out the window.
@rivercitynik oh no, that sounds awful 😔. I’ve had my fair share of restless nights, it is no fun. Hopefully the supplement helps!!
It’s such a nice spring day here today, I thought I would spend the afternoon doing some yard work. Before pregnancy, I always took care of all the yard work. Leaves, grass, raking, gardens. Everything. Well I think I might’ve over did it today ☹️ I raked and bagged up a few bags of leaves ... ten bags 😐 MH will load up the bags and dispose of them.
23w today, I’m not sure if what I’m feeling is braxton hicks or just from overdoing it but it’s uncomfortable. I’m drinking lots of water, and plan to have a bath shortly in hopes it eases the crampiness I’m feeling.
@rivercitynik I feel you, I don’t think I’ve fallen asleep before 2 in the last week. Haven’t considered taking anything though, I guess I should look into that?
@charhar0820 I had terrible cramps yesterday out of the blue! Worse after eating for some reason? And now they’re just gone. Pregnancy is fun.
Sleeping is starting to get uncomfortable. I miss sleeping on my stomach and back so much! Right now I have body pillows on either side of me, which helped the last few weeks, but last night I just could not get comfortable and tossed and turned. The shortness of breath doesn't help either.
My doctor had recommended taking magnesium for these horrible neck/ shoulder/upper back cramps I was getting. It has been a lifesaver. I would get these cramps and not be able to move much. Being stuck on the couch not moving when I'm already stuck at home was driving me crazy.
Sleeping through the night seems to be near impossible any more. I tend to wake up every 2/3 hours. I used to be the person that once I was asleep I was out for the night. So, this has been tough.
Does anyone feel like their insomnia is coming back? I feel like mine is and I'm trying to fight it by going to bed "early". I'm not ready to go through insomnia again.

Add me to the group of not sleeping well. I just cannot get comfortable/stay comfortable. Then the longer I don't fall asleep, the more my mind wanders. I'm tired, ugh.
ETA typo... I'm tired.

My job is sitting at a desk and I can even put my feet up but my son is so low I have to stand up frequently because of how uncomfortable it is... I'm dreading 3rd trimester XD
Insomnia has been real lately, which has been leading to very tired slow mornings for me. I'm not waking up to pee but I am waking up to flip between hips.
Also probably a bit tmi but the slutty housewife fairy has visited and left the blessing/curse on me so my husband is quite happy to let me sleep in since our evening activities have been pretty exciting given how dull the first trimester was.
RedBaramid enjoy the sex for me. I want it all of the time, but it's just not that great recently. I don't know if it's the extra blood flow down there or what, but it just doesn't feel as great as it used to.

Just an update to say I took my magnesium supplement last night (Natural Calm) and I'm not sure if it worked, but I did sleep through the night finally. I also think it helped with some of the muscle aches I was having and I've used it in the past to help with constipation. Magnesium citrate can help address so many issues. My doctor approved me to take it (check with yours first), but I think I'll keep taking it regularly.
After a little break without any symptoms I can definitely relate to some of the postings here...
I am having a hard time falling asleep. Just flipping around from one side to the other like a pancake because of hip pain and insomnia. I also have restless leg syndrome a few days a week - I bought lavender magnesium lotion which actually works quite well.
And for the last three days my belly button had been hurting and I feel overall tightness in my belly and hip. Good times!
You can add me to the heartburn list. I didnt have it until the very end with DS1 but with this one its been going on for a couple of weeks already. My doc put me on prevacid to see if it will help prevent it since I was getting it everyday.
During my A/S a few days ago when the tech was pressing near baby’s head it hurt a lot so I told her and she stopped. But it still hurts in that spot, especially if I press it. I wonder if the tech or the baby somehow bruised me. It’s a few inches directly left of my belly button, so not much there other than a baby and my guts.
I'm playing a fun game called "why can't I breathe." The choices are a) baby is sitting high up, b) anxiety, c) I got off the couch too fast, and d) what if I have covid (see also: anxiety).
@wednesdaygirl1019 add a healthy dose of "wait how high is the pollen again?" so that and you've got me right next to you. I can't breathe, my throat hurts, and I keep sneezing.
Guys I went to bed at 8pm because I was tired from not sleeping the night before due to bad storms.. it's now 10:20pm and I am up eating oranges because I'm so hungry.... dinner was at 6:30pm and it wasn't small either... 2 chicken legs, sweet potato and cauliflower tots, and homemade drop biscuts.. anyone else starving?
@roo_baby I had this with my DD. The spot was just to the left of my belly button. I think it was her head or shoulder jabbing me or like you said, a bruise. It was always tender though. Idk if it's normal, but I had it too!
We visited my parents (at a distance) for my dad's birthday last weekend. My mom and sister made a few comments about how big my belly is and that my sister was as big as I am when she delivered... ouch. I feel like my tummy is round but don't think I've gained weight anywhere else yet. Now I'm slightly obsessed with googling "How much weight should I gain at XX weeks pregnant".
@kgrgreen Ugh, the weight worry is super relatable right now. I'm doing the same google search you are right now. I'm gaining weight, but only in my belly... one of my rings started to fall off my hand I had to put it away because it's too loose. It wasn't just one day where I was extra cold either.. it's kind of been a slowly I've been noticing it get looser but been trying to ignore it thing. Everyone is telling me to eat more.. I eat CONSTANTLY. I say no to nothing, if I want it and I can get my hands on it, I have it. I'm not limiting intake or counting calories other than being a little mindful of high fat and high cholesterol, but I'm still eating what I want since I got the all clear about my liver. I look in the mirror and feel huge, and I feel like I can see my face rounding.. but I am seeing more bones in my hands and I'm kind of feeling lost about what to do. My next appointment is on the 30th and I'll just ask again if they are concerned. They told me on the 1st that they wouldn't be upset if I started to gain some now and told me to pack it in with carbs and protein.
@RedBaramid Yes, the belly is ROUND! It's good your team is encouraging you to eat, especially if it was a concern before when they were monitoring your liver levels. And let's be honest, carbs are the best! That's the best news you could tell a preggo lady. At my appointment today, they told me I've gained 8 lbs. That's not astronomical for being 24w.
