Thinking of you @mommaofsoontobe3! It will be good to get more information today.
I had my anatomy scan yesterday. It was good to see my little guy yesterday. He was super squirmy so the pics we got weren't super clear, but they were able to get all the images they needed and said everything looks great. * TW* I felt a lot of relief as I have a few friends recently who got really tough news during theirs *end TW*
They also updated my due date based on the scan, which is something they said they don't often do. My first scan had me at 8/9, the second one at 8/7, and then everything today was consistent with 8/4, which is also consistent with what it would be based on last period. I had been kind of resistent to changing it (even though I've always felt strongly that it was earlier than what they were estimating) bc I don't want to be induced, but I recently listened to an episode of the evidence based birth podcast and there are studies that show better outcomes when babies come not much past 41w, so I'm more fine with it changing as long as they don't push induction before then. (And obviously lots of woman safely go beyond 41w). August 4 also happens to be...my birthday! I know the chances of him coming on my due date are slim (though I came on mine w/o induction), but I really hope we each have our own birthdays 😂 That said, I'm delivering in the hospital I was born in, so it could be a cool, full circle thing.
I posted some covid-related notes about my apt on that thread, so won't repeat those here.
I always feel like I should ask more questions, but honestly things have been mostly uneventful so I don't have that many. I did mention the numbness I experience when sleeping (that I know a lot of others have too) and she said it was pretty normal and not cause for concern.
@mommaofsoontobe3 sending positive vibes!! I'll be waiting for an update ❤️
@rivercitynik sounds like a good appt! It will be fun to have a birthdays around the same time!
I spoke with midwife yesterday and we decided it was okay to cancel my 17 wk appt. Nothing essential was happening. I go in 4 weeks for my anatomy scan. I'm excited to finally see baby! Haven't had an US yet. It's getting more real with the nighttime kicks though!

I will keep these short and simple mommas..... No cleft! No cleft! No cleft!!!!!!!!!! I can not even begin to describe to you guys the weight and fear that has been lifted off my shoulders!! Going to the hospital today was eerie, the nurses stations and security guards but it was all worth it! I got amazing photos and got to see her little feet, hands, legs, booty, and that face! That perfect face! And she has the cutest nose and kissable lips! I think what they may have seen in my last ultrasound was in between her nose and top lip she has a very prominent indentation in the middle (Idk if I described that well, it's hard to describe with out pointing to the exact part on the face) but I also have the same thing and so do both my daughters', my husband's skin right there is a little more thin and flat, so I already know she is going to look just like momma!!!! Life is good today ladies! Your prayers and thoughts didnt go unnoticed!
Edit I will post the ultrasound in the ultrasound thread!
I just had my prenatal over the phone appointment with my GP.
I’ll be going back for another ultrasound as they apparently didn’t get great measurements of babies heart and wanted to see me two weeks after my last ultrasound which was 03/10.
Baby is also in breach position.
I don’t know how I feel or what to think/feel/expect.
@charhar0820 I had to go back twice for ds2 because he was so uncooperative with getting pics of his heart. I dont think we really got the pics we needed until I was around 30ish weeks. As far as breech goes, baby is gonna change position so much, I wouldn't worry about it. Baby has prolly changed position several times since the u/s.
@charhar0820 I know it’s easier said than done, but try not to worry about either. Baby’s position at this point means nothing - he/she is so small and can turn and flip multiple times a day. It isn’t until baby is bigger in your third trimester that they start turning less and settle into their final position (and even that can change as late as during labour!) Also, if they got good photos of the heart and THEN wanted you to come back I’d be nervous. It’s decently common to not get great pictures of everything - these babies move and wriggle sounds much! The fact that they just didn’t get good enough photos doesn’t mean anything bad in and of itself! I’ll be thinking of you at your next scan and hope everything is fine (I’m sure it is)!
@charhar0820 I am sorry of the uncertainty, I know how that feels! Think of the positives, next time you go back baby will be just a little bigger and you get to see him/her again ❤ As for the breech position I was also nervous because my little girl was breech at my first anatomy scan, but when I went back yesterday for my second anatomy scan (9 days apart) she was head down! They are still so little they can easily move around at this point. So I would definitely not worry about that right now!
@wildrainbow thank you. The over the phone appointment is just so weird to have to do. When she told me, I didn’t know what to ask. Plus there’s a bit of a language barrier that makes it harder to understand her on the phone. Baby was so active during the scan, I’m sure that had to with it as well. I just hope that if it was a serious concern my doctor knew about, she would’ve contacted me sooner?
So I just found out that the hospital gave me the wrong date for my AS scan. Darn. They told me it was March 31, so I got my husband to reschedule his work schedule and I cancelled my midwife appt which was the same day. Then they called today and said whoops it’s actually April 20. That’s almost a whole month away Boo. Sorry, just had to whine for a second. I’ve mentioned on other threads that I haven’t felt baby live yet (18 weeks) and my PGAL brain is acting up, so I was really looking forward to seeing baby. Oh well.
You know, I’m not even sure if she said it was because they didn’t get all the measurements or if they did and needed me to come back so they can have another look at it. So with that being said, since my doctor is self isolating at home - I sent her an email asking for a bit more detail and to clarify for me. I hope she gets back to me. FX.
@charhar0820, don't worry! It is waaaay too early for the baby's position to mean anything at this point. They still weigh less than a pound and are tiny and have tons of room to move. My first was lying on her back - head on one hip, feet on the other at my A/S - which is literally the worst possible position to be in. My midwives didn't even give that a passing glance in the report, and I was planning an OOH birth, which is not allowed for babies other than head down!
My doctor emailed me back! she said They could not see the heart clearly the first time, so they want a repeat to visualize better. That it is common that they ask for repeat. And told me not to worry.
😅🤞🏼
side note: I’m happy i get to see this little babe again.
Thank you all - I sure hope everything goes well at my next ultrasound. fx.
Went for my A/S scan today so excited to find out we're having a....... we'll find out next week because we got great pictures of baby's spine, brain, confirmation of hands, feet, arms, legs, a good look a the kidneys randomly... but HORRIBLE photos of the face, heart, and nothing at all usable about the genitals. She did get a very brief flash of a second where she has a strong leaning towards one gender, but not sure enough to commit it to the paperwork. Baby is measuring at the 18th percentile which is on the smaller end of normal, but the tech said she has good feelings about the spawn I'm growing even if they are being stubborn.
Also had a long chat with my OB about my gastro wanting to give me a CT scan or an MRI... she preemptively took some blood from me today to re-run my liver enzymes because she wants me no where near a CT and isn't fond of an MRI either. He will have the results of this lab draw before I call to reschedule my follow up with him on Friday and she said she will be personally calling him to discuss his concerns and idea for a care plan. She and I talked at length about my medical history and about how I feel so great right now and she agrees that right now unless he suspects something very dangerous it really would be best to just wait and see. Guys I feel SO advocated and cared for. She took my blood today because she told me she doesn't want any of her patients going anywhere but her office for the foreseeable future unless it's to deliver a baby.
So, for now I'll wait another week to tell my family that the tech thinks we're having a girl, but I'm gonna cross my fingers and quietly hope she is right because I've had a devil of a time with boy baby names and I have fallen in love with our girl name.
@RedBaramid I'm sorry for the delay in finding out the big news but glad things are looking well. I'm so happy that you are being well cared for. You deserve it with all the stress about insurance coverage you've had. Hope you continue to feel great!! ❤

@RedBaramid Sounds like such a nice appointment even with you having to wait for the gender! I'm so glad you ended up with a wonderful doctor after all the stress you dealt with just waiting to see someone.
