Re: Weekly Check-in all weeks 3/24

  • EDD/weeks+days: 16+6

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Finding out. It was pink according to sneak peek and I am so antsy to see if the anatomy scan will confirm that.

Baby is the size of a(n): Pomegranate

Upcoming appointments: Anatomy scan and MFM consult 4/9. It could have been 4/2, but my childcare (aka my mom) was supposed to be travelling but obviously that was cancelled. Would you call and see if I could move it back up even though that is only a little over a week out from the time I would be asking for?

How are you feeling? Overall well. Exhausted and bloated are the only two things that seem consistent. I have had a couple headaches but they were controlled with Tylenol.

Raves/Rants: Rave - My current work situation isn't bad at all and I feel very fortunate. Despite the lock down in MI my mom is still watching my kids at our house and we are working at hers. And now I can watch TV and work across from H. It will get old, but I don't hate it currently.

    Questions:

GTKY: What are you currently binge watching? During work I have had Zumbo's Just Desserts on in the background and at home I am watching Stumptown.

Baby is the size of a(n): Naval Orange

Upcoming appointments: April 3 and 30

How are you feeling? Exhausted but slightly less nauseated. Fighting gas and constipation.

Raves/Rants: This week our guests have gone home and we are getting back to our usual schedule which is helping with my anxiety and my toddler’s naughtiness level.

    Questions:

GTKY: What are you currently binge watching? I just finished watching Preacher with my husband and now we have started The Stranger on Netflix.
  • EDD/weeks+days: 15w4d

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): Apple

    Upcoming appointments: April 3

How are you feeling? Tired, still a little nauseous, a little anxious

Raves/Rants: I'm so sick of being stuck inside!

    Questions:

GTKY: What are you currently binge watching? Just finished watching I'm Not Okay With This. And I let a couple of episodes of Outlander build up on my DVR so I've been playing catch up.

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): A lemon

Upcoming appointments: just had my prenatal appt yesterday. Trying to schedule the NT ultrasound but because of Covid-19 it has to go through some internal medical review/triage by the MFM dept. Needs to be scheduled soon though!

How are you feeling? Still exhausted. Some days the morning sickness is bad and then other days I feel great till about 9:00 pm then I start feeling yucky

    Raves/Rants: none right now.

    Questions: none

GTKY: What are you currently binge watching? I haven’t been able to watch any of my shows lately. Kids are home from school so I’m only left with the evenings after they go to bed and unfortunately I have been going to bed when they do.

    EDD/weeks+days: 15 weeks
    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Solid green
Baby is the size of a(n): magic 8 ball
Upcoming appointments: Nothing scheduled, possibly not until 21 weeks
How are you feeling? Still tired but I'm into a routine now so it's quite manageable.  Otherwise, feeling so great DH keeps reminding me to take it easy!  Hard to when I can finally accomplish things again.
Raves/Rants:  Finally feeling so good!  Has been a great past weekend being able to get so much done.
Questions:  Some hospitals near us are only allowing one support person in the delivery room (due to covid-19), which means I'd have to choose between my midwife or my husband if that rule is still around in Sept.  I was already considering a home birth, and this pushes me more towards it.  I don't know anyone personally that planned a home birth, tips anyone?

  • EDD/weeks+days: 9/20 14+2

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: finding out in a month! (Hopefully)

Baby is the size of a(n): peach 🍑

Upcoming appointments: 4/8 and 4/27 (AS)

How are you feeling? Decent. Still so tired, but I work a lot. I still feel like garbage if I don’t eat but other than that normal

Raves/Rants: rant: I bought my two pairs of maternity jeans about a month ago. But they’re too big. I definitely got the size I thought I was but I ended up losing weight instead of gaining because I’ve been trying to eat better. So I might have to buy a smaller pair until I can fit into these nicely.
Rave: I got animal crossing and I love it. All the nostalgia plus I can play with my sister 😊

Questions: should we make a registry thread? I don’t even know where to start with that lol

GTKY: What are you currently binge watching?
I haven’t been watching much tv.
Lately i usually watch cooking shows. and h and I watch anime together. Currents are the fate series and boruto. Super nerdz.
  • @greyl A registry thread sounds great to me! I will not have much on mine this time and will be buying it all myself, but it is fun to hear about what people will have on theirs. And what was the most and least used items that people had on theirs previously could be fun.

GTKY: What are you currently binge watching?
I had a homebirth with my daughter in 2013! Planning one this go around too. Research the different midwives in your area and set up a consult with all of them, or at least a few. Come prepared with questions (lots of great lists online) and see who you connect with! I'm happy to answer specific questions if you have any.
  • @readytobemama I told my H If they make the restrictions super strict (I saw a hospital in NY isn’t even allowing partners) then this baby will be born at home lol. He told me I was crazy but I was serious. I’m not doing this alone!

@Louise_Belcher I would call & ask! Doesn’t hurt to try I suppose! & okay I’m glad you agree about the thread! We will have to get one started at some point!
  • I have to have a c section so I'm not sure what I'd do if H couldn't even be with me. The first few nights with DS were so rough and he was such a help. He got me water, fed me, helped me with nursing (it was a 2 person job for the first little while)

Ditto! I needed my husband so much during those first few days when I was recovering from the c section. Also how terrifying would the c section alone be? Plus I didn’t get to hold my baby right away because I was shaking really badly and the drugs had worn off a bit and I could feel the first bit of being seen up. DH held him while they got me sorted. Who would he spend his first moments with if that happened again? I cry every time I think about it.
  • @beaandthebabes I didn't even think about that part. DS had a tough time getting breathing after he was born and DH kept me so calm. If he wasn't there I would have been freaking out and probably screaming at the doctors.

  • Right now our hospitals have you being allowed to have one support person, who would be my husband, but they will be checked for symptoms before entering and will then not be allowed to leave and come back. If he leaves, he’s out and I’m alone. I hope it stays that way and they don’t restrict it more. They have different rules for labor and delivery than the rest of the hospital. It appears they are the only department allowed a support person.
Right now, for appointments and care they are not allowing anyone else besides the patient. This means my husband won’t be at the anatomy scan and I’m pretty upset about that. My anxiety is through the roof and I need him there. He is also upset he won’t be able to be there.

    Upcoming appointments: 4/2

How are you feeling? I finally have an appetite which is good. I’ve been losing weight so I hope I can start gaining a bit.

Raves/Rants: We (two boys and I) have been quarantined for two weeks now. I feel terrible for my three year old who has no idea why we can’t go to all the places we used to. He keeps asking to go to the zoo and I just have to burst his bubble again and again.

    Questions:

GTKY: What are you currently binge watching? Not binge watching, but I’ve been reminiscing in Disney original movies on Disney+. I throw one on to unwind after putting the boys to bed.
  • My fingers are crossed either the restrictions stay the same for our area (you get one support person who cannot leave) or loosen over the next 6mo. I get sad thinking that my little guys wouldn’t get to come meet the baby in the hospital.

@itsmehere1212 That sucks so bad that H cannot come. Is the anatomy scan at the hospital or in an office? I am very worried that we will find out soon that H cannot come to ours also.

  • @itsmehere1212 my husband can't come to the anatomy scan either as of now, hoping it loosens up before then as it will be the second and last ultrasound we'll have, and I had to try so hard not to burst into tears when I scheduled it today.
  • EDD/weeks+days: 14

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): peach

    Upcoming appointments: next month

How are you feeling? Fine pregnancy symptom wise, just a cough

Raves/Rants: tired of being sick and stuck at home, but I know it could be much worse. Just trying to practice gratitude

    Questions: none

GTKY: What are you currently binge watching? Unfortunately not enough time to binge anything even though we’re home because of my toddler haha
  • EDD/weeks+days: 9/7   16 weeks 2 days

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Blue! We are naming him Ryan

Baby is the size of a(n): Grande iced coffee

Upcoming appointments: April 20th anatomy scan and 30 week appointment

How are you feeling? Good. Still tired in the evening and Ryan is very active he moves a lot.

Raves/Rants: been feeling Baby Ryan move a lot which is nice! We are planning to use some of this time being at home to get my older son’s new room cleaned up. Still watching my nieces because now my sister and brother in-law are working at home. But we are sheltered in place at their house or at home.

Questions: for second/third time moms what are you doing to prepare big brother/sister?

GTKY: What are you currently binge watching? I’m always bing watching Bob’s burgers and right now I started watching zoeys extraordinary playlist.
  • @ktholysz High five for bob's burgers! Obviously I love that show. I haven't really thought about how to prep the boys for a baby besides talk about the baby. When we went from 1 to 2, DS1 was so young (20mo) he seemed oblivious to the whole thing and mostly ignored DS2 for many months. There are normally sibling classes at the hospital that I had considered signing my oldest up for, but for obvious reasons that wont be a possibility. I might have a toy from the baby for each of them and have them pick out a gift to give the baby when it arrives.

Baby is the size of a(n): avocado

Upcoming appointments: tomorrow, pretty nervous as my docs office has closed and he’s now seeing patients at the hospital...

How are you feeling? As far as the pregnancy goes, I’m GREAT! But of course with everything else going on in the world my anxiety is at an all time high.

Raves/Rants: I MISS real life interaction!

    Questions: nope

GTKY: What are you currently binge watching? A whole lot of kid appropriate crap.
  • @Louise_Belcher I saw your bump name and picture and thought - why didn’t I think of that?!? Oh wait because I’m totally Linda thats why lol
  • @ktholysz That is awesome! My mom is so Linda it is hilarious. She has the hair and glasses and is always overly excited about random things. 😆

    Finding out in 18 days!

Baby is the size of a(n):
    Pomegranate

    Upcoming appointments:
Anatomy scan with MFM in 2 1/2 weeks

    How are you feeling?
Pretty good. Still dealing with headaches and severe constipation but otherwise I feel decent! Anxiety wise not good at all with Covid and everything. Our governor expects 40-80% of our state will end up with it... We are out of school until at least May. Both of our older kids birthday parties are canceled and our Spring/Summer sports look likely to be completely canceled. I’m just feeling so shaken seeing the heartache my kids are feeling and knowing there’s not a single thing I can do this time to make things better.. worst feeling as a parent.

    Raves/Rants:
rant ^^^^^^ Raves.. we’ve been baking a lot and everything has turned out. That NEVER happens, I’m the worst baker! Probably not good in regards to diet, but ya know what, it lifts my spirits every time something tastes good so I’m going to keep on keepin’ on darn it!

    Questions:

GTKY: What are you currently binge watching?
    Uh. Disney+.
  • @Louise_Belcher they don’t do ultrasounds in office, but they have imaging satellites all over. It’s a large women’s hospital and I know for sure he can’t come in the hospital and I’m pretty sure that applies to satellites. I will know more after my appointment next week since I’ll get my script for the u/s and can schedule then.

@readytobemama I feel you. It’s so hard to have things change week to week. My doctor called today to change my Appt next week to a virtual visit and I broke down crying to the poor admin on the phone.
