If you had to have NSTs, when did you start them? Was there something that caused you to have to have them (like feeling contractions or shortening cervix)?
I had a singleton and never once had a NST so I have no idea what to expect. Is this standard for twins or only if you or your doc feel there is a problem?
Re: S/O - when did you start NSTs?
My peri and OB wanted me to start going twice weekly at 28 weeks. I was not having any contractions or problems, they just wanted me to be monitored to make sure things were going well. I also had no idea what to expect since everything I read about them gave me different information. For my NST's I went to the hospital I was going to deliver at and got all cozy in one of the beds. They straped two monitors on me to measure the heart rates of each babies and a third to measure movement and contractions. Once on the monitors it takes at least 20 minutes, but usually longer since the babies dont always stay in the same place for the monitors to track them.
