Raves/Rants: None really I just feel blagh

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: green
Baby is the size of a(n): orange
Upcoming appointments: next Monday, standard 16 week checkup
How are you feeling? Overall good. Aches and pains, very tired at night, heartburn, the usual... Did have nausea and actually threw up this morning for the first time in a long time. I think it was because my stomache was so empty. I went to bed early last night and had a light dinner.
Raves/Rants: Rant- my little one developed quite a cold over the weekend. I hate hearing him coughing during the night. No fever, so I'm grateful for that. I'm so looking forward to the end of cold and flu season. Also back to work after what felt like a busy weekend is rough! I'm dragging today.
Rave- 1 week until my appointment! I need to hear that heartbeat!!
Questions:
GTKY: What spring activity are you most looking forward to?
Watching baseball!
Going on more walks.
Opening the windows!
@mrswheeler812 that will be so nice having the park right across the street! We have a nice big backyard, but have to drive to a place that we can push a stroller around or whatever.
EDD/weeks+days: Aug 21 / 16+3
Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Green
Baby is the size of a(n): ? Avocado
Upcoming appointments: Wednesday for bloodwork, a scan, and early GD screening :/
How are you feeling? Still just exhausted, but glad I can sleep in and recover from a busy weekend.
Raves/Rants: excited and also a little nervous about three nights of choir practice this week!
Questions:
GTKY: Opening the windows and getting a fresh breeze, along with having time to do spring cleaning and feel caught up on everything that's been neglected around the house. Spending time outside without having to bundle up! Sunshine! 🌄☀️🌄☀️🌄 ETA oh! And gardening a little bit - how could I forget!? Watching the early bulbs come up, and buds on the bushes, as well as growing our little container herb garden with DD.
EDD/weeks+days: 17+1/ August 16
Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Finding out soon!
Baby is the size of a(n): A pair of folded sunglasses? They really stretch these things huh?
Upcoming appointments: Wednesday we are going in for an ultrasound of my gallbladder and liver to investigate the potential causes of my elevated liver enzymes. Fingers crossed the solution is not surgical, or if it is it can be something that at least waits until the darn health insurance kicks in June 14th.
How are you feeling?: Honestly, great. Nausea is at an all time low. My energy is picking up.. I've got a slight cough and some sinus drainage but it's all under control. It's crazy to think there may be something "wrong" with me when I'm feeling so good.
Raves/Rants: The weather is steadily warming, which is fantastic.. but with the big covid-19 scares going around my local area (we have some confirmed cases in my area now and several presumed) we are staying pretty home bound and avoiding crowded and busy areas. It's kind of a bummer.
Questions: None for now, happy Monday everybody!
GTKY: What spring activity are you most looking forward to?: Honestly, just being able to go on outdoor adventures again. I'm ready for long walks, zoos, and big parks again.
Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Blue
Baby is the size of a(n): Pomegranate
Upcoming appointments: 23rd for AS!
How are you feeling? Tired, a little crampy, and hips are killin me
Raves/Rants: Rant: ds1 started running a fever last night, he woke up at 3 am crying and just miserable.
Rave: I've been feeling baby kick quite a bit and I love it!!
Questions:
GTKY: What spring activity are you most looking forward to? Spring tries to kill me each year because I have terrible allergies. I do love going on family walks. Ds1 likes to walk our dog and ride his tricycle.
Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Blue
Baby is the size of a(n): Artichoke
Upcoming appointments: 2 weeks for AS!
How are you feeling? Pretty good! I actually had energy to clean the house yesterday which hasn't happened in forever!
Raves/Rants: Both I suppose...trying to get DH to sit down sometime this week and finalize the budget/maternity leave plan so I can tell my work that I won't be coming back til after Christmas 🙌
Questions: None right now.....thank you @kgrgreen for responding to my daycare freakout on a few w/o posts back.....If I can stay out til January of 2021 and hopefully keep LO out of daycare til March, we are going to try to do that! If not, I'm hoping he will be ok with my immunity + breastfeeding so that he can stay well until the weather gets warm!!
GTKY: What spring activity are you most looking forward to? Not having to wear a coat! And bring on the dresses!! I'm getting pretty excited about the 1.5 days of spring weather we will get here in the south before it gets hotter than 7 hells😂🙄
Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Blue
Baby is the size of a(n): Bell pepper
Upcoming appointments: 3/20 for anatomy scan. I can not wait to see this guy 💙
How are you feeling? I’m feeling good. I’ve really popped and definitely look pregnant now.
Raves/Rants: I really wish I knew if we were staying or going. My husband still isn’t sure what’s happening with a settlement at work and that’s what is holding us up. I’d be content to stay in our rental but I don’t like this uncertainty. So, I’m just purging unnecessary stuff as often as possible so that if we do move we don’t have excess crap to deal with.
Questions: None
GTKY: What spring activity are you most looking forward to? I’m in Florida. We do the same things all year long.
Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: blue
Baby is the size of a(n): Mango
Upcoming appointments: next Monday for my AS
How are you feeling? The best I’ve felt all pregnancy! Currently pretty tired because I stayed up until 11 because of daylight savings. Otherwise pretty good!
Raves/Rants: we met a doula yesterday who seems great! She and I have similar backgrounds- we were both academics who transitioned to other industries after starting a family. I really liked her vibe and a friend recommended her.
Questions:
GTKY: What spring activity are you most looking forward to? I live in Texas, so it’s felt like spring for a while. But I’m looking forward to having more daylight in the evenings and to gardening. We just bought some vegetable plants for our garden that DS is excited to help us plant. We have planted a few things over the past couple of years that I really enjoy seeing grow.
Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Finding out
Baby is the size of a(n): hot dog
Upcoming appointments: March 17th for A/S!!
How are you feeling? Not well. Everything hurts. It hurts to walk and hurts to sit. I honestly thought I was having contractions this morning (bad cramping in my lower back, extending to the front of my stomach). I've drank 60 oz of water and maybe that helped? Not as severe but I am still having uncomfortable cramps. Also, my body hurt when I sleep and today I'm really tired from the time change. I don't remember being this uncomfortable this early in my first PG. I've heard the older you get the harder PG is... I would agree at this point.
Raves/Rants: Rant - See above.Rave - Had my family over this weekend to celebrate my birthday. I had a really nice time with them and enjoyed the nice weather we had. Also, today is 65 degrees outside! Definitely going to try for a family walk tonight and loosen up my stiff hips.
Questions:
GTKY: What spring activity are you most looking forward to? The warm weather and being outside - going for walks, bike rides, bonfires, etc. We didn't have a bad winter but I still love Springtime. I'm also abnormally excited for Easter this year.
Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Finding out
Baby is the size of a(n): croissant
Upcoming appointments: this Wednesday for the A/S!!
How are you feeling? I'm okay, suprisingly, considering this time change has been brutal. I swear the Monday after is worse than the Sunday that the clocks go forward. Also my chest must be growing more because it has been. so. itchy. So hard to not scratch while working.
Raves/Rants: Rant - my DH and I are trying to figure out our health insurance for when this baby comes, and it's been very stressful. He really wants me to stay home part time, and I want that too, but I'm the only one with health insurance through their job and it would be $$$$ that we can't really afford. Rave- it is 64 degrees in western NY today, which is so rare. I'm trying to enjoy it because it is way too early in the season for beautiful weather and it's likely we have one more blizzard to go before spring officially arrives at the end of April.
Questions: At what point do I need to worry about cramping? I keep having these cramps off and on throughout my day. No bleeding or spotting, and they just kind of come and go.They aren't as bad as my period cramps and seem to be related to sitting in one position for too long. Which, I sit on the floor or in tiny preschool chairs all day where I'm likely compressing my stomach too much, but I don't know how to help that.
GTKY: What spring activity are you most looking forward to? Getting into my garden. My tulips are starting to come up and I can't wait to see if the rose bush that sprouted out of the ground last year made it through this winter. My back vegetable bed is a disaster, but I don't want to deal with it until the threat of snow is gone.
Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: BLUE!!! We just found out last week.
Baby is the size of a(n): Artichoke...which I just learned how to spell btw.
Upcoming appointments: March 16 for AS
How are you feeling? Really good now, not much to complain about.
Raves/Rants: Rave: Our 3D scan was amazing and well worth the money. Seeing the little guy move in their is awesome. Plus we got to be together to find out what we were having. DD is so excited to have a little brother.
Questions:
GTKY: What spring activity are you most looking forward to? Hiking, taking some un-grey sky photos, and fishing.
@riatortillaxo The little night coughs are so sad (and so sleep-destroying). I also feel like right now anyone coughing gets serious side-eye from the population at large. Completely understandable, but I wish I could hang a sign around DS' neck reading "I am a grubby toddler with allergies and a drainage cough but promise I have no known serious illnesses"
EDD/weeks+days: August 26 / 15+5
Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Green
Upcoming appointments: Tomorrow morning, regular OB checkup
How are you feeling? Great. I feel like my bump is finally looking more bump-y than lumpy, and I have so much more energy -- wondering how much of that's second trimester vs. the thyroid meds kicking in. My skin is starting to clear up, too, which is a big relief.
Raves/Rants: I saw two friends yesterday, we have another coming over for dinner tonight, and we just made dinner plans with another couple for weekend after next. I'm a weird brand of introvert who dreads upcoming engagements, loves them during, and feels completely depleted afterward. But I also have a lot of guilt about letting people down, and once I do make and follow-through with plans it's such a relief to both assuage that guilt and know I'm off the hook for a little bit
Questions: I'm still trying to figure out how much additional worry (if any) we need to feel about covid-19, as pregnant people. I know most doctors are just as confused as we are, but I'm hoping to ask my OB tomorrow about the more general underlying question: are all pregnant people truly immunocompromised in a way that could be relevant to a respiratory disease? Or is it more nuanced than that? We're supposed to travel this weekend and I'm feeling so confused and torn.
GTKY: What spring activity are you most looking forward to? Not really an activity, but I can't wait for spring clothes. Sandals! Sundresses! I'll make it an activity by saying I can't wait for the return of Saturday morning brunches in sandals and sundresses.
Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Green.
Baby is the size of a(n): Avocado.
Upcoming appointments: Wednesday for checkup.
How are you feeling? Aches and pains here and there.
Raves/Rants: Rave - Due to incorrect signage at Target today, I scored a $49.99 dog bed for $39.99 for my bulldog. He's rough on dog beds, I tell ya! Rant - DH just left yesterday for training for a couple months. It's day one, and I'm already going crazy being the sole caretaker of the kiddos with zero breaks. Pray for me, y'all. 😅
Questions: N/A
GTKY: What spring activity are you most looking forward to? I love to take the kids on little day trips to local attractions, parks, zoos, etc., so I'm looking forward to some nice weather days to get out and about. I much prefer getting out of the house and draining their energy that way, rather than sitting around here trying to figure out what to do.
Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Green
Baby is the size of a(n): Pomegranate
Upcoming appointments: AS in three weeks.
How are you feeling? Not too bad, still got a cough. @riatortillaxo @BusinessWifedon't do what I did, don't wear a sports bra with a a tight band with a bad cough and damage your ribs. I was very tired on Saturday and went to get supper early.
Raves/Rants: Raves - that baby has been moving a lot and the walls of our extension are finished, hopefully the roof will be done by the end of the week. Rants - my husband is feeling ill, which means he's been a grumpy sod all day.
GTKY: What spring activity are you most looking forward to? I'm looking forward to taking DS to a farm to see the lambs and chicks, we always used to go and see the lambs when we were kids.
Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Blue
Baby is the size of a(n): Artichoke
Upcoming appointments: AS on 3/24!
How are you feeling? I have such bad heartburn ATM! And I'm soo glad spring is on the way, but I had a really bad allergy headache that lasted all weekend. Other than that I'm feeling good and enjoying have a more visible bump
Raves/Rants: Raves: Baby boy has been kicking this week and it's been so fun to really know for sure that I'm feeling him move. I also think I'm in the minority here, but I like daylight savings. I'm sure I'll feel differently once I have a little one, but I love that it's finally light later in the day. Gives my mood a huge boost. Rant: I think I mentioned this last week, but we made the decision late last week to cancel our event taking place next week (a large, multi-day conference). It was the right call, but it meant a lot of work over the weekend and another intense work week. On the up side, I likely won't need to travel next week and may take a day or two off just to relax and recharge.
Questions: any tips for dealing with heartburn? Tums don't seem to make much of a difference.
GTKY: What spring activity are you most looking forward to? I'm just excited to want to be outside again... lots of neighborhood walks, meals out sitting, reading on the porch, etc.
@rivercitynik Have you tried the chewable Tums? Those worked for me last PG and tasted like candy
@Emiliadk "Saturday morning brunches in sandals and sundresses" just made me SO happy and excited for the warmer weather!
@riatortillaxo You mention watching baseball and I believe you're in NEO. Do you ever go to Rubber Duck games?
EDD/weeks+days: 15w 4d
Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Green
Baby is the size of a(n): orange
Upcoming appointments: March 20 for checkup and second trimester bloodwork
How are you feeling? Pretty good! Entered the stage of "was that the baby or just my insides being weird?" I'm pretty sure sometimes it is baby... but also sometimes just my insides being weird
Raves/Rants: Rave- Yesterday was so nice here! Got to go for an extra long walk with the dogs and then we grilled. It was a lovely afternoon!
Rant- we saw a daycare that we really liked but it has a waitlist until June 2021! womp womp. Also my mom is being incredibly annoying with daycares, saying things about how I shouldn't put my baby in daycare 5 days a week and it'll be missing out on so much love etc. Not very helpful considering we don't have family around and neither of us can/want to stop working, so daycare 5 days a week is our only option!
Questions: none
GTKY: What spring activity are you most looking forward to? Like everyone else... getting a garden started and nice weather to go on long walks with my husband and dogs!
stays home. Also, my son had the same lead teacher for his first three years of life and developed a very close bond with her. If anything he now just has more people who love him!
Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Pink!
Baby is the size of a(n): Hotdog...
Upcoming appointments: Next monday AS!
How are you feeling? I've been having some pretty uncomfortable cramping that started this weekend as well @krkgreen! I wondered if it was from being on a plane for 3 hours, but it continued throughout the weekend. I should drink more water.
Raves/Rants: Just got back from a vacation with D! It was the best time! Her first vacation and watching her experience so many things for the first time made my heart so happy! Also for those flying, you may be happy to know I've never felt safer from sickness on a plane-lol. EVERYONE was wiping their seats and using hand wipes/disinfectant. I was proud of the people haha.
GTKY: What spring activity are you most looking forward to?
Opening the windows! Going outside without a coat, or even a light jacket rather than having to gear up in winter clothes. Going for walks. Pretty much everything.
@rivercitynik totally agree-I love the spring daylight savings! That extra hour of daylight is everything! Definitely harder with kids' schedules, but my daughter is just as happy as I am about the extra hour.
Team Pink and Blue (we found out yesterday!)
Babies are the size of avocados
Upcoming appointments: AS 4/7
How are you feeling? The nausea only hits about once a week which is serious progress. Still constantly tired and more emotional than normal but who here isn't? Haha
Raves/Rants: Rave: Started going through all of our baby stuff and starting to plan out the nursery. Feels good to get a little organized especially since I have done nothing until now due to nausea/fatigue/etc. Rant: WINTER GO AWAY.
Questions: None
GTKY: What spring activity are you most looking forward to? Just being outside/in the sunshine and retiring my aggressive north face parka for a while. I live in Michigan so being cooped up indoors all winter gets real old about this time of year (see rant above haha).
@emiliadkay Re: covid - are there any cases where you are now, and any where you are traveling to? I tend to be a bit of a hypochondriac, but I was with some family over the weekend who work in a school and a place where they were just surrounded by thousands of people. I now regret going out and hugging them. Personally, like @mrs_sheddy mentioned, I heard everyone on planes are wiping down their seats. But I'd be more concerned with the airport and once you are at your destination... Meaning you'll want to be out and about and dining out. Not trying to cause any panic... stay well girl. PS, how is YH doing on crutches?
@rivercitynik I'm so relieved that your huge conference was cancelled! Well not for all the work you put into it and what a crazy week you're now having, but glad you won't have that exposure and you can get in some well deserved me-time.
@gomillis That is so awesome that you found a doula that you get along so well with!!
EDD/weeks+days: 8/27 15w5d
Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Pink!
Baby is the size of a(n): Orange (apparently TB no longer has daily comparisons?)
Upcoming appointments: Thursday for 16w appt. First one at the new MW practice!! Can't wait to hear the HB since we've only heard it once for like two seconds.
How are you feeling? Pretty good with the exception of still being so tired with a stupid stuffy nose. Waiting for the energy to kick in!
Raves/Rants: I'm beginning to panic as the cases in NJ are climbing (including the first death) and they have declared a state of emergency. And cases are only a few miles from me. My boss said I can begin working home shortly, so I'm excited about that!! Also, we ordered our baby girl's crib and furniture set, and I cannot wait for it to come in... although I don't really want the delivery guys in my house. Maybe I'll delay the delivery? We are still planning on moving (if we can ever find a house!), but will set up the spare room for the nursery now anyways, since it needs to be staged to sell.
Questions:
GTKY: What spring activity are you most looking forward to? Being outside without bundling up! Taking my dog for long walks and seeing all the trees and flowers come back to life. I'm happy to have more daylight but hate daylight savings... takes me like two weeks to adjust to the time change. The past few days have been nice out and enjoyed the extra walks and time outside. Hubs grilled yesterday and I've so missed that over the winter.

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Patiently awaiting a scheduled 20-week ultrasound!
Baby is the size of a(n): Avocado
Upcoming appointments: Regular checkup in two weeks, ultrasound in four
How are you feeling? Pretty good - a little stuffy the last couple days, but no other symptoms, so hopefully it’s not anything serious!
Raves/Rants: Most of my family is in Cleveland and was hoping to visit them next month, but don’t want to risk taking my grandparents any airport germs
Questions: Anyone been induced at 39? Looking forward to asking my doctor about this. Read it could reduce chance of C-section, and it would also help me out work-wise. Was your doctor pro or anti?
GTKY: What spring activity are you most looking forward to? Lying in my hammock in the backyard. Wearing flats and no socks. Taking our dog for longer walks and pointing out all the flowers to my husband who couldn’t care less about flowers.
Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: blue
Baby is the size of a(n): Avocado or dill pickle
Upcoming appointments: Midwife appt 3/23 and anatomy scan 3/26
How are you feeling? Getting over a nasty stomach bug so not great. Really run down.
Raves/Rants: rant- DH got sick too but took Zofran early on and recovered a lot faster. He cooked dinner tonight and it freaking reeks! I’m having to lay down on my bed with a candle lit because I can’t handle food smells right now. Ugh. Also, coronavirus, you suck. DH works for the airlines and it’s a scary time, job security wise.
Rave: I’m getting to feel pretty frequent flutters, so that’s exciting! I also scored some adorable fall/winter clothes on clearance from Old Navy/Gap for baby boy.
Questions: nope!
GTKY: What spring activity are you most looking forward to? I’ll be taking DD to a farm class at our local petting zoo/farm, and that’ll be so stinking cute.

Baby is the size of a(n): Both apps agree on Mango
Upcoming appointments: March 19 for AS and then regular appointment March 23
How are you feeling? Pretty good most days
Raves/Rants: Rave- I'm currently only going into the office two days a week and teleworking two days a week, and that has been so helpful for me in terms of my pain. Rant- the days I go into the office I'm hurting by 11am and the pain only gets worse throughout the day. I never experienced this with my daughter. My sofa is my only happy spot that truly reduces my pain. Also, my stomach tightens up so much when I walk, even for a short distance, and I just don't know why. I drink over 100 ounces of water a day, so I'm not sure what's going on with that. I plan to bring it up with my doctor when I see him.
Another rant, I cannot stop thinking about how I don't feel connected to this baby yet. I think it's just because I'm not feeling any flutters/kicks anymore and it just makes me nervous. From time to time I feel pressure of where I think he is, but I'm just not sure.My AS cannot come soon enough. And I have not shared this with my husband because he is a bag of nerves during my pregnancy because he cannot control anything, so I don't want to add anymore stress to his plate.
Questions:
GTKY: What spring activity are you most looking forward to? Being outside and opening the windows. I do wish I lived in a place that have has many bugs, but I'm still looking forward to being outside.
@ziggymama06 We were traveling from TX to Chicago, but just backed out today. I had a good conversation with my OB yesterday and she talked me out of making the trip, as much for our plans once there (St. Patrick's Day revelry) as for the travel itself. And oof the crutches thing is still hard for us, but thankfully DH seems to be in a better place mentally about it all. So now it's just me inwardly raging each time I spend 20 minutes picking up after him or stub my toe on a misplaced crutch. We'll make it. What crib did you decide on??
@viola_mama I highly recommend Evidence Based Birth for similar types of questions. Here's their super in-depth article on this issue: https://evidencebasedbirth.com/evidence-on-inducing-labor-for-going-past-your-due-date/. I'm personally pretty induction-averse, so I don't know what my OB would have thought of a request to induce early. I know she didn't start bringing up the topic herself until I'd already passed my due date.
