Upcoming appointments: I've finally got my first appointment with my midwife next week.
How are you feeling? I've been quite tired this week. I fell asleep for 2.5h yesterday evening.
Raves/Rants: Raves my husband has been very sweet this week and has done a lot of round the house. Rant I've still getting a lot of ribs pain after pulling my rib muscles from coughing.
GTKY: What is one tradition you are looking forward to starting or continuing with the new baby? Songs, songs and more songs. My son loves music of all kinds, and we make up silly songs all the time for all sorts of different things.
Sorry I've been MIA lately. Besides a crazy time at work, my Bump account isn't working right and I can't see any of my notifications it's been like that for two or three weeks now. I've been seeking help from Bump support for the past week and a half or so, but it's been a week since my last email and I haven't heard back. Anyway... I'll try to keep participating even though that's a big annoyance.

Baby is the size of a(n): Pear
Upcoming appointments: 3/12 I think they're doing a glucose test, not sure what else. Although I won't get to see Baby until my anatomy scan at 20 wks, my doctor assured me we'll still listen to the heartbeat at all the monthly appointments that don't include an U/S
How are you feeling? Pretty good. Nausea is behind me although I did randomly throw up the other day (?) I have some fatigue still, but overall my energy level is much improved. I'm sleeping well for the most part except I have hip pain after being on my sides. Right now I alleviate it by sleeping on my back in between, but I know there will be a point where I'm not supposed to do that anymore. Also, I didn't have the symptom of needing to pee more often in first tri, but for the past two or three weeks, I've consistently had to get up once every night. Also I wasn't really cranky in the first tri whereas these days my patience, unlike my tum, is t h i n. (I just realized that whole paragraph is just a bunch of contrasts. Sorry-- I'm too lazy to fix it.)
Raves/Rants: Well, besides the rant above, things are fine. A rave is that I love having a bump. It makes me feel more connected to Baby when I can rest my hand there. Mine really went from pretty small to very noticeable around 12 weeks. Before that I sometimes looked big, but I knew it was mostly bloating and would come and go. This bump is here to stay! I was surprised though at showing so much in early second tri since I'm a FTM. I was very proud that my students who had suspicions (apparently it was a lot of them) didn't actually voice them--to me, at least--until after I officially shared the news. They told me they didn't want to be rude in case I had just gained weight, and it was heart-warming to see them show concern for others' feelings like that
Questions:
GTKY: What is one tradition you are looking forward to starting or continuing with the new baby? My family tries to go to the beach every summer. I think it's really precious to see babies/toddlers experience the ocean for the first time. I also have a great relationship with my sisters and I'm excited for our kids to be friends and for them to have adoring aunts.
Ooh! @faith_2911 we did not get to the beach last year, except a little bitty one at a park nearby. We will have to make a point to get this baby to the ocean this year!
@BusinessWife Yess! I'm thinking Baby's first trip will be in utero, but the next summer our little ones will be just about a year old which seems like a great age for a beach discovery
